Dear Artists. My experience with Art Printer is still tugging at me from over 6 months ago and I am the kind of person who almost NEVER complains. The reason I am posting is because I am an emerging artist and rapidly becoming a member of the artist community in LA and NY. I am extremely generous with sharing information, best practices and good will. I don't feel it's necessary to go into specific details, but Art Printer and I had difficulties communicating. The snag, was admitted by both parties, yet they were unwilling to negotiate whatsoever on the final invoice, even though their product was unusable, and they tried to talk me into accepting their output and became acerbic as I remained calm. I took my business elsewhere and found Weldon Color Lab on Robertson. They spent time with me and worked WITH me to produce a perfect product which was not the case at Art Printer. When Weldon didn't produce the ideal result, without my request, they discounted when applicable. My order with both printers was quite sizable....thousands actually. I am HAPPY to pay when the job is executed correctly and have no issue with spending what is asked. I have been in corporate communications as a graphic designer for over 25 years and I would never conduct business in this manner by denying a client a percentage discount when there is a conflict in communication acknowledged by both the client and company. I just participated in two very high-end events in LA and soon in NY and will spread successes and failures so that fine artists have the best experiences. I still feel very taken advantage of and don't want this to happen to other artists who work so hard. read more

If you are perusing the list on yelp, stop now. This place is the best and will handle all of your art printing/scanning/correcting needs and the price is very good. The best part is they really love the art they are working on. I go to pick up a scanned image, and end up staying for a half hour talking about why the art was made in the way it was and what we should think about in making it's recreation. This is a great place for printing on Archival papers and printing on Canvas. I found it online but decided to go to the place to make sure the file that I have prints good on the paper. I think I may have found my new go-to art printer. I was asked to participate in a last minute art walk, which gave me about a week to get everything together. As I am primarily a digital artist (www.ashguyot.com if you are interested :) ), this meant having my work professionally printed. I usually like to have my work ready to go at least 2 weeks before a show, so I was worried that I wouldn't find a place that could get it done in a short amount of time. Many times I've had special requests/instructions which were welcomed and carried out impeccably. Granted, any engaged consumer should voice their needs rather than assume their wants are implied. Great and patient people who are down to Earth and easy to talk to. My first experience with Giclee on canvas and it was a great experience. Color correction is done in gradual steps and they will provide proofs to compare with. I'm not sure why anyone would complain or try so skimp on color correction when your prints are only as good as the baseline file but yeah, go figure. I guess you'll always have someone having a bad day or what have you, but I had a great experience with them personally. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the field. read more
