This employee needs to get fired immediately. He harassed me for the second time as a woman and raise his voice and I had to tell him to bring your voice down or I will call 911. I asked respectfully for manager and he gave me another address in Beverly. I been to Beverly USPS and never had any issues for my free return but this employee always want to charge me which does not makes any sense. I definitely will follow up more and this man needs to be out of public. No one should get harassed when you are just trying to return with pre-paid label and he is screaming at me, nothing is free here! Got there right when they opened at 9 AM and nobody came to let us in. The line kept growing, but they would not open the doors to let us in. I banged on the back door and a gal answered it and said they were in a meeting and never apologized for making us wait. 15 minutes later they finally open it. They usually only have one person working, which is just ridiculous. I don't understand why they just don't cancel delivering mail on Saturday to give these workers more time off. They are rarely ever friendly and move at a snails pace. And stop raising the price of stamps, my goodness! read more

While I've previously had a good experience here, I echo the sentiment of many reviewers who say that some of the staff here are rude and even hostile. When I came in today around 10:30am, it was dead. The woman who helped me was initially just stoic and lacked friendliness, issuing commands to get me processed quickly. While I prefer a friendly greeting or demeanor, there was no harm done. Maybe she was having a bad day; maybe she didn't owe me anything. I considered asking her how she was because she seemed like she could use some cheering up, but she seemed so focused on her task. Then... She asked me to verify the address of my first package on the screen. I said that the city came up wrong. She said, "That's how it's coming up in the computer," and I said, "Yes, but she lives in a different city." Thinking quickly, I said, "Let me check the map to see if it's the same house," and she repeated herself with a tone of protest. "But that's how it's coming up." I again said, "I just need to make sure the package will make it to the correct house." After about 15 seconds of checking on my phone, I was able to confirm the package would arrive at the correct house. We moved forward; it was solved. I didn't know why she was being so resistant/argumentative. Then, when she told me my second package had the wrong zip code, I had to again pause and figure out what to do. I was mailing the package on someone else's behalf and didn't know the address by heart, so I started texting the person to verify it. After only a few seconds, she said, "We need to finish this." I was stunned. I had only been at her window a couple of minutes at this point. Frustrated, I said, "Sorry I'm wasting your time." She shot back, "I don't have much time." I gestured to the empty room and said, "But there's no line!" Apparently, this didn't matter to her, nor her coworker, who jumped in to point out that "The clock is ticking on the computer." What? Does the USPS--or this location--have a timer on how much time they can spend with each customer? I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. Why rush a customer when there's no one waiting? I asked her why she was being so rude. We proceeded to argue. At first I was just trying to get her to see my perspective, but she was so hyperfocused on the ticking clock that I switched to problem solving just to appease her. I offered to go outside, verify the address and come back in. I asked to see the package so I could take a picture of the address, but she wouldn't let me. She repeatedly talked over me and sometimes flat out ignored me, as if I weren't even there. It was like I was talking to a robot. At the culmination of this absurd argument, she shoved my packages back out of her window and suggested I to go to a different post office. I was so upset that I cried in my car afterward. I'm 41 years old and have never had public exchanges like this--I was rattled. I don't know if this review will help anything, but I guess it's good to know that I'm not alone in having a negative experience here. I hope the workers here are OK, because it seems that there might be some immense pressure from higher ups to keep the [nonexistent!] line moving. The service is so slow here.. it's almost like the speed of going to a DMV. That's really the biggest annoyance. The place is never stocked with anything you'd need to ship something if you're in a pinch so you better come prepared. Shipping rates are better than fedex & other spots so that's a plus. DO NOT GO TO THIS USPS. I had a horrible experience here several times prior, but today was by far the worst. The woman pictured held me against my will in the post office by locking the doors. She didn't let people in or out as she gave herself a break and locked the doors. After my transaction, I asked to be released and she refused to open the door. I asked her several times and she then called me a "bitch". Not only did she move at a snails pace, she was inconsiderate and even told us to go to a different USPS location. This woman should not be working here or any other job that relates to a service. She was incredibly rude and used profanity. Action needs to be taken to get her out of here. This post office is the worst. I came in to buy stamps and drop off a package with a prepaid label. Of course, the prepaid drop off box has been broken for months if not longer so you have to go into the main area to drop off your package. And the automated machine's printer is also down so receipts can only be emailed. I went to the cart where you drop your packages off and it was pushed so far back that I had to crawl under the counter to get to it, also, as I was there, they announced they were going to have to lock the lobby because there was only one woman working the counter and she had to take her lunch break. Are you kidding me? You can't get more than one person working the counter at a time and have to shut down the entire post office? I had to mail something the other day and since it is the closest one to me I went there although I was a little apprehensive about what to expect service wise. The man that helped me was SO FRIENDLY AND PLEASANT that I brought up all the bad reviews about the customer service on Yelp and told him I was going to write a review based on my experience with him. I do not understand how this branch is still open! You can see/read, every review of this branch notes how rude or ineffective the employees are who work here. Today I encountered the office closed for lunch with a handmade sign and after acquiescing by using the self-serve kiosk, I found that I couldn't even deposit my package because the receptacle is broken. as I was leaving, I encountered a customer who had first attempted to send some packages over an hour before I was leaving asking me on my way out if they were still closed. I am not trying to deny someone their lunch, but one hour is normally the standard. I can only assume the reason that they are closed in the middle of the workday is that no one wants to work here (and that includes the ones that actually DO work here). I came here to mail a package and the postal worker attempted to steal my package after a disagreement. See I have a broken wrist and can not physically write anything down. The worker at the desk refused to help me with the address and was rude about it. It didn't make sense anyways because she would be putting a shipping label on the box but whatever. I asked to pay for the box I took so I could leave because I already packed the goods and didn't want to steal. After I paid for the box the worker insisted on making her point and refused to hand me my box that I paid for with my personal items until she was done telling me off. Rude. Another employee came and straight up stole my package telling me I don't deserve it and that's why my arm is broken. My race was also brought up. She then acted as if she was going to throw the box at my face even though I have a broken arm and cannot defend myself. She then threw my box from another window damaging the box I just purchased and then threatened me. She damaged the goods in the box. I sat outside and called a friend who works in the industry and they told me to go in and get the post masters information which they then refused to give me and started recording me denying that she threw the box claiming my "box failed" she vandalized my box and was rude to me all over needing assistance due to a broken arm. They then destroyed property I just purchased and attempted to steal mine. Disgusting excuse of a person. I want to be in touch with the post master immediately! It's hard to believe there is a POST OFFICE, which has consistenty for the last how many years provided APPALING NASTY SERVICE, particularly from the three (3) women who work the three windows as you enter. This women go out of their way to be RUDE AS HELL and as unhelpful as possible. Today I brought in a box to be shipped along with three pickup notices. When I (attempted) to put package infront of the nasty clerk, she barked (THESE THREE ALL BARK AT CUSTOMERS) don't open my window! They have these plastic partitions there apparently to protect themselves from customers. One of the three pickup notices fell to the floor. the wITCH said: "I don't serve people who throw things at me!!!!" For real? Yep, it's typical of the crap these women are permitted to perpetrate. When I asked for magmt number, she refused! I have honestly never encountered such rude "service"anywhere before! I need a money order something I've never done before. The total amount is a little more than the actual order, so I ask.oh, this must be the fee? I got no answer, after the third time was so the gray haired black woman pointedly turns around the read out screen and says can't you read. I scramble for my glasses and yes, it is the fee. So I add more money to the pile in front of her. Nastily she accuses me of having thrown the money at her, which I absolutely did NOT. The last window , the guy lets me finally do the darn money order. Nobody would give me their name or let me talk to a supervisor. Grey hair woman enters the main room and tapes or takes a photo of me. A supervisor never shows up because they don't have one, I am told. Package drop off bin has been broken for YEARS! The self service kiosk often doesn't work, or makes you think it's working until it's time to put in a credit card and then it will not accept your payment method. There's never more than two people working at a time at the counter. And then today I came in during business hours, and there was a sign on the door, saying back in 20, and the kiosk is not working, which means I am unable to handle my postal business during business hours.
