I've stopped at this Box & Mail a few times now to drop off prepaid packages. I've never had any issues and was met with friendly service. This morning I even came BEFORE they opened and they unlocked the door for me! Oops! But also, so nice of them to take my package before officially opening so I didn't have to run back. Nice to be able to send out UPS, USPS, and FedEx in one place, but be aware what time you drop by. If they're busy (mid-/late-afternoon) or understaffed it can be a not great experience. :( You might get snapped at with "I'm too busy right now" depending who's there so it's luck of the draw. I'm reading some mixed reviews with the mailing and shipping which I've never used. However, I have used them to buy boxes for shipping. The last time I was there I had brought my items over to make sure the box I tentatively measured for would fit okay. The lady helping me, reconfigured the layout of my items and actually suggested a smaller more fitted box vs the larger one that I had measured things out for with my packing sequence! I gotta give her props for her superior spacial reasoning. It just goes to show what can come about when you're thinking outside the box, plus I bet her skills at Tetris are amazing. read more

Customer service is not very good. I was told one thing when I first came in then told another thing later regarding my shipment/ charges.They also don't provide tracking receipts. It's the first mailing place I've encountered where they don't give you a tracking receipt if requested. read more

I hate to be the Grinch at such a happy time of year, but when a nice person gets treated like I did the past few times I have gone in there, then so be it I am a Grinch. I purchased boxes, I paid to use the tape gun, and I even paid for 3 pieces of paper I used to stuff the boxes...ONLY to be told that I was not allowed to pack my boxes (that I had purchased there) at this facility. The wife told me to go home and pack my boxes, and com back or there was a post office down the way. Again, I remind you, I PAID for the packing supplies, so I should be able to PACK my boxes there. I will never set foot in this establishment again, nor should you. I was yelled at in front of customers, the Fed Ex man, and a UPS man....not ok. read more

Long ago in a magical time known to some as the 1990's there was a business called Mail Boxes Etc. Mail Boxes Etc provided a convenient alternative to the post office for those days when you couldn't find the time to pack a box, wait in line, and ship it from your local decrepit branch of that sadly underfunded agency of the US government. At Mail Boxes Etc, they greeted you with a smile, gladly took your pile of odd-shaped items, and took care of the rest. All for a premium, mind you, but you were happy, because you could go on with your busy day. Then in 2001, Mail Boxes Etc was acquired by UPS. So long, friendly, intelligent, caring customer service. But the wistful memory of Mail Boxes Etc remains. So, here in Los Angeles, hundreds of businesses seek to cash in on the solid reputation of that departed company by giving their little mom-and-pop's names like "Box & Ship", "Pack & Mail", "Mail Boxes and More", etc etc. How these lusty entrepreneurs get away with such blatant copyright infringement is beyond me. What I do know is that most of them appropriated nothing beyond the naming when drawing up their business plans. Most are incompetent, under-stocked, and unfriendly. They won't accept letters, reluctantly deal with FedExes, and hang a perennial, yellowed out-of-order sign on their copier. The worst offender to my knowledge is Box & Ship at Beverly and Pointsettia. The assistant manager there literally rolls his eyes at the smallest demand, desperately counting the minutes until his lone customer leaves him to resume listening to his Bad Brains CDs. And then there is Box & Mail on Beverly and Detroit, in a shopping center across from the New Beverly Cinema. It is owned and run by husband and wife Billi-John & Sylvia Guimm with smiles and efficiency. They even have a nice self-service option with acres of bubble wrap and handy access to box cutters, scissors, what have you. This is service you can appreciate. Enough to please even a frazzled New Yorker. Perhaps Angelenos, who blissfully take for granted distracted arrogance from so many perky illiterate bimbos at restaurant hostess stations, will take notice. read more

This is one of those shipping/packaging materials places. They also have mail box rentals, notary public, passport photos, key copies and office supplies. The prices aren't the absolute best, but the customer service makes this place amazing! It's run by an sweet older couple (I prefer non-corporate businesses because they seem to treat customers like people instead of like numbers). I procrastinated on sending out these mix cds, and had to try and ship them before heading to work this afternoon. The woman who runs the place helped me by stuffing the envelopes with cds and track lists while I addressed them. Totally helped me get it done. This place rocks! read more

Folks here are great. I've come here for notary, fed ex (but since fed ex doesn't deliver to post office boxes I ended up doing USPS/express mail instead. They were open on Columbus Day!!!!! The woman checks your address label to make sure it is legible. Very sweet and helpful of her. They also sell boxes. Good quality bankers boxes-perfect for packing books. Free parking lot out front, but it does share with other businesses. So if it is full you can hunt for metered spots on main road or side streets. read more

This little store is all you need to get your mail grove on. I personally use them for their notary service, but they have a lot more going on over there. They seem to be fairly busy, although they still work hard to get your job done in a prompt and courteous manner. A real nice mom and pop store. read more

I dropped off a package and the woman didn't seal it or even send the package while I was there. This made me nervous but the woman assured me she would send it later that day and would give me a confirmation email. Which I never received and had to BEG her to send me. She hung up the phone on me 3 times, said it was an accident..W T H !!! is wrong with this place? The worst customer service ever. Next time I'll go to the post office, it might cost more but at least I know my package will be sent and I don't have to deal with chasing somebody around for tracking information and treating me like a human being read more

I found them via yelp. The couple that owns this business are really nice. I had recently moved to town and needed a non P.O. Box mailbox for packages to be delivered to. Every time I get a FedEx or UPS packages the owner calls to let you know you have one available. You can also get a 24 hour key to access your box after business hours. Packing and shipping supplies are pretty reasonable, if you want to take them home and box them yourself. To have them package up your items; it's kind of pricey, but if you're in a rush and don't have time to wait at the post office, it may be convenient. But for mailbox services they are great. read more

I have had a mailbox for my home business at this store for quite some time now and I'm finally here to write them a review. If you need a mailbox, especially one that has a non-P.O. Box address, this is the place to get one. Sylvia and John have been great over the years, and I've never had any issues with my box or any of my mail. It is so convenient to have a place to send your deliveries to (regardless of shipping carrier used), and have someone accept your deliveries when you are unable to at your home. You know your packages will be safe, and they won't just be sitting in front of your door on your doormat all day. You will even receive a call to let you know that your packages have arrived, which is very helpful for those times you forget something was even being delivered to you. I really like this place, and I will continue renting a mailbox here as long as I need one. read more

I dropped off two packages here and their mail was not picked up for two days, which is pretty insane to me considering the business is literally a mailing service. When I called to ask, the owner was short and did not reassure me that pick up was happening, but instead told me to call the post office instead. So now I'm going to have to drive back, pick up my packages and take them to the post office? No Stars. The lady working there was very rude over the phone when I called to inquire about a usps package that I dropped yesterday that is not tracking in the system. As I was trying to ask her if it was possible that someone could have taken the package before usps picked it up, she kept cutting me off and saying "just wait", "it's not my responsibility". Then she even said "why would someone want to take a package?"...as if theft does not exist anymore. Then as I was attempting to ask another question, she hung up on me. Very rude and there seems to be a dialect barrier because even though I kept repeating USPS, she kept referring to FedEx. I will never go back there again. read more
