This place is finally open! Since I already ate but wanted to try their menu, I ordered a kid's Turkey sandwich with a side of chips. No drink is included. Total was $8.08. It looked like they were fully staffed with all hands on deck. I didn't wait too long for the food (to go). The bread was soft and overall the sandwich was a good size. I only ate half but am saving the other half for later. Also, I debated on getting a chocolate chip cookie. I skipped, and as I waited for my food, was offered a free mini chocolate chip cookie to sample. Very delectable. I'll be returning in the future when I'm in the area and I hope the service they provide is maintained! read more

This was a new place we tried, as my lunch guest is always on the lookout for a new salad place. Both our salads were AMAZING!! The focaccia bread was great too. Would definitely like to go back and try some of the sandwiches also. Service was nice, to the extent you are ordering behind the counter and they bring it to you. I love Urbane Café, and I was excited to find out that there was one in the area that I was traveling through for work today. They have delicious, fresh and healthy options. Their bread, which is an optional side with most of their meals, is warm, fluffy and dense at the same time. There are good options here for vegetarian and pescatarian people. You can definitely get your dose of fresh veggies. What I love is that their food is really flavorful. The facility is clean, and service is prompt and friendly. Food and presentation are very consistent from shop to shop. This one in Moreno Valley is very conveniently located just off the freeways. Prices are moderate, but very good for what you are getting. I paid 20 bucks for lunch, including my drink and tip. I recommend it! read more

What are the main things you look for in a place to eat? Good and healthy food, fast and friendly service, great atmosphere, and affordable pricing. What else can you really ask for? Well Urbane cafe (In the Canyon Springs Shopping Center) delivers all that, without question. All of their meals are fresh, customizable, incredibly delicious, and good for you. And on top of all of that, their app is incredibly easy to use. I can place an order, with all of my specific customizations, and pick it up 15 minutes later. It's amazing! Do yourself a favor, and go check out Urbane Cafe off of Day Street. I'll be shocked if it doesn't quickly become one of your favorites, and a regular stop for your family meals. read more

I am always looking for healthy options when away from home. Salads that aren't 10000 calories, and are delicious. Besides the standard chain options. Yelp directed me to this place, and it didn't disappoint. I ordered online and checked all the calorie contents before choosing the chicken crunchy salad. By signing up for the rewards, you get a free cookie! I picked up the salad, it was waiting and bagged when I came inside. It came with a good amount of dressing on the side. It was really good and I would absolutely return when near another location in the future. My only complaint is that they switched my cookie flavor out without saying anything. Weird. Anyway the cookie they gave me was also fresh and good. I'll be back soon, I wish they had more locations outside of the Southern California area. read more

Right when I walked in, this place smelled amazing. They make the bread from scratch and everything is so fresh. We stopped here on our way out of town and the service was friendly. It was a bit of a wait but they had a massive online order to fill. They have a small brand soda brand instead of normal sodas which is fun. They also have fresh focaccia bread which they give for sides of certain plates. I got a Mediterranean bowl which was delicious and tasted so fresh. We also got a sandwich which had delicious bread. Will definitely come back. read more

It pains me to right this review. After eating salads here numerous times, we drove all the way home to find a live bug inside a salad. See the video as it crawls around living its best life. This is really unfortunate because I'd been looking forward to enjoying a salad from Urbane all day. The Santa Maria BBQ Salad is akin to a budget BBQ Chicken Ranch Salad from Wood Ranch. The creepy crawly was found in the Cafe Salad. Seeing that all the salads are made within the same area I would assume if there's a bug in one lettuce mix there might just be bugs in them all. With this thought in mind, I promptly drove back to the restaurant to return the salads and ask for a refund. The two staff members I dealt with were very polite and apologized. They offered a refund without question and gave me a coupon for a free entree (that will go unused). Unfortunately, they've lost loyal customers with our family. read more

Loved the gluten free bread for my sandwich so much I ordered 4 extra bread rounds to take home to the freezer. Great decision and still enjoying them. Solid place! Walked in on a Monday afternoon and not crowded. I enjoyed the open floor concept. I opted for the seared ahi tuna bowl. I love that they put radish in there and appreciate putting the spicy Mayo on the side rather than all over the seared tuna. Solid meal. By the way... the cookies look BOMB. I am forssure going to get on next time I come visit. Note: for the seared ahi tuna bowl, it says i you want the bread it is complimentary upon request. I was grateful the cashier asked me if I wanted bread instead of me asking for it. read more

glad I found this place! They did a special in June for service members, police, healthcare workers etc to get a free meal so I figured why not try it out. We'll I'm glad I did. Loved this place. Came here for the first time recently and ordered their lemon parmesan salad and it was so good, you can add protein if you'd like. It's tangy, crunchy, cheesy and a huge serving. I was getting a pedicure next door and saw they were now open. I grabbed the takeout menu from their display but it didn't have any prices which not gonna lie had me worried lol but luckily the price point was affordable FOR ME. I had the cranberry Brie sandwich which comes w the house salad (Mixed greens, a couple mandarin slices and I think Cotija cheese and some vinaigrette) and it was $10.95. They were super quick. I waited maybe 6 minutes, If that. Their menu says they're "family owned and California grown" and the food is made from scratch everyday. I liked it. The food was really good. The staff (Amaya)at the register taking orders a was friendly and I could tell she is trying to learn their menu. I would come back again on another nail day. I see they have an app as well and it looks like there's a rewards program for it. read more

This is my go-to spot for high-quality food for a fraction of the price. Not to mention that the food options are healthy as well. I got the pastrami tri-tip, and it was outstanding. With each bite, you get ample flavor from the ingredients' layers--bread, butter pickles, swiss cheese, cole slaw, aioli, and the pastrami tri-tip. There's also a side of golden mustard, which compliments the sandwich. My wife got the Baja bowl, and it was a blast of flavors, especially with the Fresno chilis. We are coming back to try the seared Ahi-Tuna bowl. My wife and I shared the tomato bisque and it was so flavorful and creamy. Don't forget to sign up for rewards and we got a free cookie. History

Established in 2003.

It all started in 2003 when owner Tom Holt realized there was a missing niche in the Ventura restaurant scene. He wanted a great sandwich and salad, something different, while still being dedicated to delicious-tasting food. He understood that every great sandwich starts with the freshest of bread, so he designed the cafe around a hearth oven. Working with his friend Pete, they came up with a bread recipe that was soft, delicious and baked fresh, right in front of your eyes. It didn't stop there though, he created a menu centered around locally sourced ingredients, juicy-roasted meats, and crafted sauces to give each creation its own unique flavor. Urbane Cafe loves being the place where friends, family, and communities gather to celebrate and make memories over delicious food. Our passion is to have our guests walk out happy every time and keep them coming back for more.

Meet the Business Owner: Tom H.

Tom Holt is the owner, founder and Chief Bread Head of Urbane Cafe. As a young child Tom developed a love for motocross racing. His first career was at the age of sixteen when he became a professional motocross racer. In 2003, Tom Holt's vision was to bring a great-tasting, healthy, and affordable sandwich and salad restaurant to the friendly people of Ventura, California: a nice, small town where he grew up. Urbane Cafe quickly became the gathering place where people meet to engage, relax and enjoy a great meal at a great value. The success of that first location proved that Tom had struck a chord with the local community. Urbane Cafe is all family owned and has continued to expand since 2003 to multiple locations across California.

Fifteen more minutes passed, and our pizza still hadn't arrived. Since we had a clear view of the kitchen, it didn't appear there was any urgency to get our order out. At that point, after waiting nearly an hour since placing our order, we had to cancel it because we had other plans and couldn't stay any longer. Our waitress apologized and removed the pizza from our bill, but that was the only resolution offered. While we appreciated her kindness, we left the restaurant disappointed and still hungry. Mistakes happen, and forgetting an order is understandable from time to time. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. After waiting an hour for a forgotten order, we had hoped for a more meaningful effort to make things right beyond simply removing the item we never received. It's unfortunate because we genuinely loved this restaurant after our first visit and were excited to introduce it to our friends. Thankfully, our friends enjoyed their meals, but this experience left us hesitant to return. Great pizza is important, but great service and how a restaurant responds when things go wrong are what keep customers coming back.

I got a combo plate with chicken and beef. Most flavorful meat I've had in a long time and everything seemed like I was eating at a friends house. Very fresh and made to order. Prices are a little bit high but the quality speaks for itself the vibe seemed very chill and mostly people were quietly eating. That's how you know it's good when people are focused on eating and not talking as much.

We went togethjer as she was a bit nostalgic for food plaaces she went to growing cup. The location is in a business district, but the familiar design and interior of the resteraunt made my wife happy. We arrived when it opened and were glad we did becuase it got busy very fast from many wokers in the area. We both ordered the roast beef sandwich and my wife said that it totally reminded her of the one she grew up with. Personally the food was ok, and I probably wouldnt go back, but service was fine and the resteraunt was clean.
