Wonderful Service & Great Food Selection! Staff was very attentive to my toddler & myself

Amazing staff, great food , Manuel was very helpful, cannot wait to come back with my family .

My husband and I went for lunch during the soft opening and were really impressed with how smoothly things were running. They had ample staff who came and checked in on us multiple times, the food came out quickly and looked and tasted great, and everything felt like a well-oiled machine. I had high hopes for a good, quality option for family dining and I think this will more than fit the bill. read more

Since their opening, my husband and I have dined twice with friends and picked up to-go. Each experience has been wonderful from the service to the food. Great little spot for casual dining and a special shout out to Sophia! She was great the other night and gave us free cookies. read more

Great food, healthy food, great place to sit and talk while you eat. Affordable with friendly, helpful staff.

I decided to go to Urban Plates since I have been getting ads about this place. Well after deciding to go, I ordered two different plates but both with steak. The food took quite a while which to us was not a big deal, it made us think that the food was going to be fresh. After getting our food however the food was cold and basically seemed reheated. The portions were so uneven, as I got barely any steak on my dish, only like four super tiny pieces. Meanwhile, the other dish seemed to have a decent portion and a substantial larger portion than mine. Food was very cold and honestly it was quite a disappointment of a meal. read more

The steak was really good and Chenel was super sweet and was a great help. I also really liked the vibe of the whole thing.

Very good customer service form Raul came to visit 12/12 loved it our first time here had a very good experience will come back again!!!!!

Went to grab lunch with friends during an overnight Davis Trip- food was fulfilling but the highlight of this place was the server- she was actually really sweet and really good at creating a comfortable and fun buzz around the table! if you have Chenel as your server I can guarantee great service. Ty chenel!! read more

The cookies and pastries truly make for such a good late night snack. The decoration of the area was so nice and Chenel the one who told me which desserts were best. She was just as sweet as the desserts. read more

Greetings, this was my second instance coming to the establishment and the ambiance is so exquisite that it nearly knocked my socks off! Oh great heavens the food was so delightful I just had to keep ordering more. My American friend Chenel convinced me to make an expedition to the states to indulge in this fine feast. The service was very attentive and prodigious. My only regret is that my beloved queen was not able to experience this delectable brasserie. Oh how divine the fries were! From my 7 years on this orbiting spheroid I have never quite tasted meat so quintessentially flabbergasting. When I took that first bite I exclaimed "OH GREAT HEAVENS THIS FOOD IS SO VIRTUOUS!" I even ordered 8 platters of fries for my own consumption. Even the water-Oh what amazing water-was so crisp and revitalizing. Never in my 87 years of life hood have I had water with such the feeling of invigoration and revitalization. Truly a masterpiece and the 8 wonder of the world you have at your business. God save the queen and may weapons against you never prosper. Infinite wealth may bestow you and your business. read more

Ok so I was a super huge fan of this place until a I noticed that a couple of the staff there have probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. One night I decided to go order some food for take out and the cashier Francesca was incredibly rude and short with me. While ordering I noticed her attitude and asked if she was ok at which point she just stared at me with a blank disgusted look on her face for like 5 seconds and then I just continued ordering. After ordering I politely said thank you for my receipt and she walked away without saying anything. As I was waiting for my food to be finished I went back into line to ask a question about the oils to my use for cooking. She never came back to the register and instead was socializing with the cooks. For about 5 mins I waited there until the shift lead noticed me and answered my questions. The interaction between the original cashier and I left a bad taste in my mouth and the surf and turf combo I ordered was cold to the touch when I ate my food. I decided to then call the restaurant to speak to a manager and ask if there was something I did that upset Francesca that sparked this weird behavior. Turns out Francesca answered the phone lol. I asked her politely if I could speak to a manager and she said one was not in that evening, I said ok I can call back another time. She then proceeds to press me about why I wanted to talk to the manager repeatedly after I kept telling her multiple times that I can just call back. Eventually I just hung up the phone completely appalled by the lack of courtesy. I came back to the restaurant the next day at about 10:35 to speak to a manager about my experience. A man spoke to me and identified himself as one of the managers, judging by his outfit he seemed to be a kitchen manager. Nonetheless I proceeded to explain what I experienced and he apologized about the incident and took down my phone number and name to give me a call back within a couple of days to follow up with the situation. I have yet to receive a call back with any kind of follow up but regardless I decided to come back in last night with my entire family and order again. Francesca was working bussing tables and I felt a terrible vibe immediately upon seeing her. I didn't let this stop me from enjoying the meal with my family. After ordering my food and waiting an excruciating long time for my food it came and was extremely disappointing. My sesame broccoli came with no sesame dressing, my daughter's chicken sandwich came with pickles after I asked for it to be without and extremely over cooked and bland. I didn't wanna make a big stink while in the restaurant and my daughter has a habit of not liking new food spots so I excused the pickles and took them out the sandwich. However, when I stood up and let the people working the expo line that my broccoli was missing the sesame I politely asked if they could just put some of the sauce on instead of them remaking it. The gentleman working the expo line was very kind and obliged, but the woman (not Francesca) working the line said in kind of a "boo ya!" Tone shouted, "we were gonna do that anyway!!" This kind of customer service is rude and I believe since Urban eats has an open kitchen staff should be mindful to what they say especially when a customer can obviously hear them. I was completely embarrassed because I invited my Uncle in Law who is a retired chef of 30 years and he found the serve or atrocious and the food subpar for the amount of time I had to wait for it to be prepared. Also on top of it all my surf and turf plate came out with no shrimp and I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for my shrimp after being the last one to get my food. I myself have worked in the restaurant industry from being a busser to a manager at a local brewery in Woodland and i find that this restaurant really has the potential to be great but its employees lack the patience, passion, and grace it takes to deal with food service. I will be cancelling my urban plates pass membership which is super disappointing because I have probably ate there at least 10 times since they've opened. I hope management sees this and implements better training. It honestly feels like there is some type of animosity towards me from certain staff there and it's completely unprofessional. Other staff have shown great customer service and it's a shame that a couple bad apples can really spoil the dining experience. read more

It was my experience at one of these. The food tastes good but was cold and we didn't have salads . They forgot to bring out our dessert but when I went to inquire they did apologize. The desserts looked amazing but we only had pumpkin pie. read more

Excellent food and yummy desserts. Sofia, our server was very friendly and helpful. Urban Eats is now our favorite restaurant in Davis!

Went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised at the cozy decor and spacious dining area. Ordered the chicken Cobb salad, it was delicious. Staff stopped by several times to refill drinks which was totally unexpected and a nice touch. Ordering was super easy too, they have a large menu above the counter and you have the choice of kiosk ordering or with a human. Will be back! read more

Today a friend and I went to urban plates for the first time. I had the Ceasar salad with chicken. The chicken was incredibly tender and tasty. The lettuce was crisp. I was only able to eat half as the servings are large. Chenel was so pleasant and welcomed us. Urban plates will be my go too 5++ read more

I had lunch at the Davis location yesterday with family members. I had the short rib bowl. The meat was so soft and tender that it fell apart at the touch of the fork. The mashed potatoes were so delicious with the gravy and their chocolate chunk cookie is the best I ever had. Nikki was our cashier. She was very patient, professional and attentive. we also received service from Brandon, Louis and Manny. Together as a team, they provided my family with excellent service. It's wonderful to have a restaurant that serves real home cooked food with employees that are genuinely kind, patient and respectful. Thank you to the entire staff including the cooks in the kitchen where the magic happens. read more

I have always been a huge fan of urban plates and even since the opening in Davis, I have gotten their steak plate multiple times. This time, I went and it was not a good experience. First off, I ordered a steak plate and did not choose the "well done" option, and my meat came out fully cooked. Very unusual to the typical quality of the food. My friend had ordered a chicken chimichurri plate and got brought out the wrong meat, no pita for the hummus, and no bread. When it was brought back to be remade, bread was forgotten again. The steak was extremely tough and hard to chew, the sides were fully cold even though I was eating it immediately after. After paying over 24$ for one meal, the quality was surprisingly inconsistent. I informed a staff member kindly to see what I could do to potentially get the steak remade, and then what was brought out was even worse. They were the end pieces and fully cooked once again. I understand that the restaurant was busier than usual, but I felt very rushed as well as the quality was very not on par or even good. I was very disappointed after this visit to Urban plates. read more

We decided to give this new place a try last week and ordered two meals for take out. The service was good. I was told to wait at the front and they would bring me my order but nothing happened after DoorDash told me it was ready so I went and asked again and it turns out my bag was waiting on the rack but it was all pretty fast I then went to buy one if the huge cookies at the register and the very sweet woman gave me two on the house " just cause" which was a very nice surprise. The food was mediocre but we will try again and order something else. My husband got the 6 shrimp with roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts. He said the shrimp was good but not quite enough, the potatoes were good but swimming in oil and the Brussels were plain and tough and also swimming in oil. I got the grilled chicken Cobb. Loved the turkey bacon but the chicken was not the usual chicken breast cubes but rather pieces of warm greasy dark chicken meat which for me doesn't work as a Cobb salad. The dill dressing was amazing , wish I had skipped the blue cheese. The piece of rustic grilled bread that comes with the meal is a slice of French bread brushed with again good amount of oil then grilled ! The restaurant looks great and everyone was super nice. We will try again read more

I love this restaurant. The surf & Turf 100% recommend. Jessica Rabbit herself was my server, (the Asian version), every time she leaned in to refill my water, y'all already know where my eyes went to (if yk yk) long red hair, beautiful face. She's def worth going to the restaurant. GOD'S GIFT TO WOMEN (I don't even believe in god). One smile from her and I was ready to tip her my entire FAFSA financial aid. read more
