I got the brisket hash and my husband got the breakfast burrito and wow were they good. Brisket hash is a little out of my comfort zone when it comes to eating out but I am glad I tried it! I highly recommend that. We were visiting with friends who are local and one of them got the breakfast pizza. Made reservations and came for brunch on a Sunday morning. The place was really busy, but we were seated quickly. When we got the menus, I was a little disappointed that they didn't have much specifically for "brunch" it was just the regular breakfast menu plus like 5 items. The website did not make this clear. The food here is good, but portions are not huge so it's a little pricey for what you get. The thing that bothers me the most, though, is the constant attempts at upcharging. I have been here multiple times and every time the server has tried to sneakily get you to add items to your order. I was here with my 14 year old sister, and when she ordered the French toast, the waiter asked "do you want bacon or sausage with that?" Thinking it was included, she ordered the bacon. Nope! Turns out it was extra and the server took advantage of her youth, since I wasn't paying attention that closely. They must train their people to do this, because it happens every time. I get what they're doing, but I think it's important to make it clear that it is extra cost for add-ons they suggest. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where they push additional items this hard. Sunday morning brunch and we were seated promptly at 9:30. (The line started forming with wait times before we were finished.) It was a beautiful fall day, so we dined outside on the patio. The staff was friendly and accommodating since our group of five arrived in 2 groups. Fortunately, both parties arrived within minutes of each other and we avoided any long delays. There is a brunch menu, but it doesn't list all the egg options, so if you are leaning towards those, check the back page of the large menu. My wife and SIL opted for the corned beef hash since they had it when they were kids. However, the beef wasn't chopped like they expected from a hash. Instead, the beef was in small strips. The flavor was good, it just was the restaurant's take on how to make it. The hash comes with a bread type (rye toast for my wife) and 2 eggs (over easy) served over rosemary potatoes. My wife isn't a fan of rosemary seasoning, so she left those. Otherwise, she enjoyed her meal. I went with one of their Eggs Benedict options (ham) which is served on an open faced English Muffin and rosemary potatoes on the side. I found the potatoes to be good (not too much rosemary) and the eggs to be cooked properly. Pretty standard flavor, not much to say if you've had good EB before. The coffee was served ready to drink and I found the flavor to be a nice medium to light blend that still had flavor without much bitterness. I gladly accepted a refill about mid meal. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food and setting. If I stay in the same hotel next time in the area, I will gladly forego the complementary offerings of the hotel and grab a hearty hot meal here. Came here for brunch with a reservation on a busy graduation. We were sat promptly even though the place was packed, plus we ordered and were served in a timely manner! I got a cappuccino that wasn't anything special upon presentation but it tasted delicious as the waitress recommended vanilla and I enjoyed it. We ordered four entrees but as we saw the table next to us get the pancakes of the day (Nutella and strawberry) we placed an order. Despite the time between the two orders the food all came together which was a nice surprise! I got the spinach eggs Benedict and the eggs were poached perfectly. My Cobb salad was decent but you almost get the feeling they're trying to save money on less, lower quality ingredients which is odd considering they spent money on cold, impersonal decor to make the place seem upscale. The service at Uptown Kitchen hasn't been too great. Yesterday the server brought our drinks and then our food. He never checked back with us. My husband did not receive what he ordered. I was never offered a refill or warm up for my coffee. We had to ask another employee to find him to get our bill. The change he brought back was not correct. We couldn't find him so we just left. Really good brunch place near South Bend Indiana. The staff is friendly, the ambiance is great, place was not too loud. They have a gorgeous blow glass chandelier in their seating area. Wait time was about right and we were seated after about 30 minutes. Mimosas are reasonably priced on the drink menu and our group seemed to enjoy them. I ordered the Cobb salad chopped with dressing on the side. Beautifully displayed, it was fresh and delicious. The dressing was a great compliment to the salad flavors. The others decided on French toast. One with challah the other GF. It is stuffed with your choice of 2 fillings. Well, both must have been very good, bc not a morsel was left!! Yelp steered me to Uptown Kitchen. I love the look of the place. It's very modern and very cool. They've got a Chihuly chandelier and art for sale on the walls. Our server was outstanding. Really very friendly and personable. I only wish the food matched up to everything else. I ordered the stuffed French toast with chocolate and raspberries. The chocolate was far too rich and bitter. A little of that would have gone a very long way, but the bread was soaking in it. Should I ever find myself in the neighborhood again, I'd return to Uptown Kitchen. Great place! Comfortable atmosphere And the staff was friendly and cheerful, food was great. Omelette was fluffy and delicious, potatoes were well seasoned. Not a fan of the corned beef hash. It tasted good and I ate every morsel on my plate, but it was more sliced corned beef than a hash, and the giant chunks of onion were off putting in a breakfast. A friend and I tried this place out on a Sunday morning. First of all, they were insanely busy. We waited probably 30-45 minutes to get a table. I'm not saying that to complain about the wait, but really just a heads up. If you know you're planning on going, make a reservation. I went to the hostess table to ask to use the bathroom and ask where we were in the waiting list. They called my name while I was in the restroom and my friend went to the hostess. The hostess then asked where the other person in our party was and my friend said "you just talked to her, she just went to the bathroom." Anyway, we were seated and I asked our server a few questions about the menu. I have a lot of dietary restrictions and asked if the gluten free pizza crust had eggs or dairy. I ordered the gluten free pizza and about a minute after ordering I realized I forgot to mention I didn't want cheese. I thought maybe the server figured I didn't want it since I asked about the crust but my friend insisted I double check. So I quickly flagged down several workers until I was able to tell my server to ask for no cheese. My server said she'd take care of it. Well...when my food came it had cheese. So I told the gentleman that brought my order and he apologized. He said "I did see it said no cheese and I shouldn't have brought it out." He said he'd have it remade and it should be out soon. Well when it did come out the crust was cooked but everything else on the pizza was completely raw. At that point I was tired of waiting it had been an hour and a half and said I didn't want anything else. The manager apologized and comped our meal. In summary I feel like management was very attentive but the hostess and our server was not. I'm giving this two stars because I did appreciate how the manager took responsibility for their mistake. Several managers also noticed something was wrong and came to check on our table. They noticed my friend got her food and I didn't. I really don't think this is normal for them (considering the rest of their reviews are great). But I just wanted to share my experience. read more

My girlfriend and I were looking for some awesome food since were visiting family. We drove 4 hours from Rochester Hills Mi so we definitely had food on the brain.
