Crooked Ewe opened shortly after I graduated from college and moved out of the area. Luckily, my family still lives in the area, so we make it a point to visit whenever we're in town and we are never disappointed. The choice of beer is always spot on and the food and service are always a hit. The poutine is a solid choice to share. The pastrami is delicious. But the one that I really enjoyed recently was the bibimbap with brisket. It can get a little crowded, but that just says that it's a good place to meet up and get some good food.

Nice little spot for lunch or dinner. Crooked Ewe offers various pub options. Had the wings which were super big but lacked seasoning. The Brussel sprouts were tasty. All in all the meal was adequate.

Wonderful Trail Mix Salad. It was so good!

What a great dining experience. Quite a bit of food to chose from, but I selected their Trail Mix Salad because why not it sounds amazing. For my protein I selected tofu and OMG cooked to perfection. All of the ingredients worked well together so that no one part dominated the the flavor it worked well. It was a nice sized portion and fairly priced at $14 + $4 for the tofu (that IMO was a bit much for the amount of tofu added but it was so delish). Being at a brewery of course I was going to taste some beer $14 I did a flight off five. I would say their beers are above average. $14 is on the high end of what I've paid elsewhere but for here Is be willing to pay $14 again because of the quality. The staff, Langston is very knowledgeable on their beers and did a fantastic job of checking how my dining experience was going. Not only would I recommend this brewery I would most definitely return next time travels bring me to South Bend.

My husband and I sat outside right by the water on a beautiful day. The service was great. The food was excellent. Lots of vegan options for me and they also had a zero proof beverage option for me. My husband enjoyed his non-vegan food thoroughly and his alcoholic beverage. If we're ever in the area again, we will definitely be stopping here.

Cool brewery in the south bend Indiana. Very very good brews ... love the Wampus monster DIPA. Food was really good.... We had the pastrami sandwich .... Pretty good. Wish we lived in the area... Roof top dining as well. Parking on site.

Stopped by for a house made beer and apps and ended up staying for dinner the food was so good! If there's one thing you take away from this review, let it be.. you MUST get the hush puppy appetizer. They have a rotating menu packed with flavor, so there is a guarantee you can always try something new.

First time at this restaurant. Really liked the variety of food and the ambiance outside. If you sit outside, you have to order at the bar which wasn't a problem. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I had the mushroom melt with Gouda, my son had the noodle bowl, husband had the bimbimbop, and father in law had the burger. We received everything quickly. I needed more sauce for my son which wasn't a problem.

Good smoked meats and friendly service. Nice place to sit along the river on a summer evening. Not cheap but acceptable pricing.

Worth a stop…read more I picked this place out from my map function because it looked interesting, on the water, and near an historic, old railroad bridge (Trail Creek Swing Bridge). It is my first time here, and for a late afternoon linner. The place did not disappoint--for the most part. It is open air with a beachy, boaty, picnic tables-under-umbrellas vibe. It overlooks the water, a marina, and the name inspiring railroad swing bridge which makes for an interesting visual environment. Thankfully there is no attempt to force an out of place theme, sparing us from steel drum background music. Interestingly though, the only nod to the railroad structure inspired name was an old school railroad crossing sign at the entry otherwise everything else is boat marina feel. Our server was friendly and efficient. My hefty burger was thick and juicy. The coleslaw was fresh. The disappointment was the fries. They were more like shoestring fries and came dried out/overcooked. The sweet potatoes fries were a better bet. The lackluster fries were not enough though to lose a star. Overall the experience was a satisfying one and at a reasonable price. I would definitely come back especially as a very nice alternative to the other railroad name inspired brewery restaurant in town.

The photos looked incredible, and the stellar reviews confirmed it wasn't just good lighting. I was sold--even if Waze had other ideas! After my GPS took me on a scenic tour of South Bend, I almost gave up. I called the restaurant, and the staff graciously guided me in. From the outside, the brick building looks like a standard office, but once you step inside, you realize you've stumbled upon a total hidden gem. It feels like a beautiful secret. Upon entering, the entire staff welcomed me so warmly that I felt like I was catching up with old friends. I walked past the elegant bar and chose a seat in the dining room. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing, beautifully decorated, and quaint--yet completely comfortable if you are dining alone. I opted for the tasting menu, which is served as a total surprise. For a true foodie, this is pure heaven. I didn't dislike a single dish. In fact, each plate brought so much joy that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the flavors and the atmosphere. As I told the staff on my way out: "The food was so good, it makes you want to cry!" (Happy tears, of course!). If you're a local who hasn't been, GO. If you're traveling for work, GO. If you have a special occasion, GO. Life is short--take the road trip to South Bend just for Roselily. The menu changes so I'll be back every chance I get! My only actual complaint? The owner wasn't there for me to beg him to open a second location in Lexington, KY!

We did the six-course chef's tasting with wine pairings and every single course delivered. The food was creative, beautifully presented, and incredibly well-balanced, and the wine pairings elevated everything even further. You can tell there is real thought and precision behind every detail--from the menu to the pacing of the meal. And the ambiance was a total vibe! But what truly made the experience stand out was the service. The team struck that rare balance of being both highly professional and genuinely warm. Nothing felt scripted. It felt personal. When they learned we were close to graduating from our MBA program, they surprised us with a menu signed by the entire staff, filled with handwritten notes of encouragement. One simply said, "Follow your dreams." That moment will stick with me forever: core memory unlocked. This is the kind of detail you do not forget. This is not just a great restaurant--it is a full experience. I would absolutely put Roselily at Michelin-star level. If you appreciate thoughtful, elevated dining with exceptional service, this place is worth going out of your way for. We will be back for sure!
