Went here with my daughter and her 3 friends and their dads for St. Mary's dads weekend. They talked it up and were excited to go. Reality, I have not had worse service at any restaurant in years.... there were 8 of us, we had a good time, but service was legit 2.5 hours.... and waiter was no where to be found for most of the nite. To top it all off, we asked him to split the check between the four dads and that didnt even come back right. Real disappointing experience. Place was half full, so I dont think that was the excuse. Went to breakfast this morning at Rohr's and it was really good. The food and service were both good and they stayed on top of making sure your drinks were full. I'd recommend if you are looking for a breakfast place on campus. If you are just stopping by for breakfast the hotel will let you park in the lot. read more

Very underwhelming experience . I know this is a ND staple but I would not go back. My wife did like her Avocado Beet Salad but my R Burger , undercooked, and sweet potato fries, undercooked, were both a miss. The service here is painfully slow as well. In the Morris Inn, Rohr's is a classy spot for a nice meal in campus. The menu isn't extensive but there are a lot of solid options. I had the burger and fries (nothing fancy), and it was delicious. It's a great departure from the basic college food spots around ND's campus. Wait staff were amazing and the manager stopped in and checked on us as well. I'll definitely be back. read more

Beautiful outer sear with a pink center, perfect tender texture with every bite. Refreshing! We had an amazing dinner here. They allow you to park in lot if eating dinner, so that was a great start. Location is convenient and right across from the golden dome. Restaurant is beautiful! We started with their burrata! Then, ordered the avocado salad for the table! Next, entrees were the salmon, turkey sandwich and chicken sandwiches. All was delicious! I've reviews a few times, I've always had great experience here. Any complaints are how busy it is sometimes and it is a bit pricey. Ambiance is always great. Sometimes a little more quiet at breakfast. Also can get rowdy around game weekends. But always "Irish". The food is really good and the service is great. The people are really nice here. Even on busy days they can be curt and almost seem grumpy. But flash them a smile and call them by name and they are so warm, it's like seeing an old friend. Takes forever to get food and server blamed it on there being a rush of customers. Shouldn't they be able to accommodate? Or else don't seat anyone people. I decided to have brunch here on Sunday. I made a reservation on OpenTable, which was very convenient. The valet attendant gives you access to the parking, which is right next to it. The restaurant is inside the Morris Inn, with easy access once you walk in the entrance to the right. I didn't have to wait long after checking in with the host. The very attentive staff threw out the entire meal. We got a seat close to a nice window. The food was delicious. We ordered the R burger, which I think was juicy and delicious, including salmon and dessert. Everything made this experience much better than the previous one. I've been here 4-8 times in the past. I guess it's much busier during football season. The staff was attentive and friendly, which made this experience even better. Let's start with the food. It was phenomenal. My bar was set pretty low for fine dining in Indiana, but these guys could hold their own in some of the top rated cities in the US. I ordered take out. We were traveling with a pet & didn't want to leave him in the hotel alone & decided this would be the safest option. My one hang up is that this place doesn't take to go orders over the phone. They told me I'd have to come in, order at the bar, and wait 20-25 mins for my order to process. In spite or this inconvenience I rolled the dice, went to the bar and ordered. To my surprise the service was incredibly quick even though they were fairly busy on a Sunday night at 9pm. I ordered a filet medium rare & the chef nailed the preparation. Exactly how I like it: Pink not bloody. My wife is vegetarian & they didn't have a lot of dinner options, however my bartender Alicia made some awesome recommendations with a few modifications. My wife absolutely loved them. Thank you Alicia. While I was waiting for my food, I had the pleasure of having a few of my favorite whiskeys (McKenna 10 year & a Larceny Barrel Proof). This made the wait much more tolerable, and they had my To-go order about 20 mins after I ordered. All in all, I highly recommend Rohr's. It's pricey, but you get what you pay for in life. It's been a bit since I stayed at the Morris Inn and ate at Rohr's every night I was there (4 nights or so). I wanted to take my family here because we were in town for a hockey tournament and I wanted to share the experience with them, surely, it did not disappoint. I love this restaurant, and, I love the staff. Fantastic service, and incredibly accommodating for kids. I know! You wouldn't expect the latter, but they will go out of their way for every visitor they have, and, kids are treated with the same Grace (no pun intended for eating at a Catholic University) as everyone else. :) Service was excellent. Per my prior review, the staff works together. As example, a different server noticed it was sunny and asked us if we wanted the shades dropped as we were in the room close to the patio on a super sunny snowy day, and she did that for us. The manager stopped by, joked with us and our server, mentioned the bad weather, and told us if we get in a bind getting home to stop by the front desk and he would help find us a room. This place is just top notch, and very special. Look, if you are around this campus, don't go to the restaurants nearby unless you have already tried this establishment. I really can't stress that enough. If you want the ND experience, this place is a MUST! Park at the bookstore, check that out, and walk into the Morris Inn which is about a 5 minute walk away. In the hotel on Notre Dames campus, this restaurant has specific hours for dining. We arrived before 11 and had to wait in the lobby for them to open. We had lots of choices and options for vegetarians and gluten free. I was very surprised at the quality of the hummus plate, I was hesitant with the amount of oil in the hummus but it was delicious and there were so many alternate veggies to dip! I had the broccoli quinoa salad which was pretty tasty! I would've wanted more quinoa but there was a lot of broccolini. My son who is very adventurous, enjoyed the salmon more than anything, but there are options like Mac n cheese for the average kids too! It's a good spot to try while visiting campus. We were staying at the hotel and decided to eat at the hotel since we would have more time to walk around Notre Dames beautiful campus vs driving somewhere. It's a very nice hotel and restaurant. They had live music going inside that Friday night which seemed to be set up right where the bar area and restaurant area were split up. They tried to seat us right at the first table but we asked for one further back so we could hear ourselves talk. We got the hummus appetizer which was really good, the chicken sandwich which was covered in a very sweet sauce and a burger. The entrees were good but nothing I would recommend. We got cocktails for the first round of drinks and then decided to try the notre dame wine for desert. Unless you like sweet red wine I would pass on the play like a champion wine. Great job on the modern remodel! NOW PLEASE REOPEN TO THE PUBLIC!! As I was a guest at the Morris Inn I was able to dine here. I ate here for dinner and breakfast. The food was fabulous. Make sure to try the avocado salad with citrus, and add shrimp!! And the Burrata is a simple but elegant starter. BUT,despite St. Joe county being open for business, Rohrs is still under strict guidelines. Therefore, very few can eat here and the waitstaff can hardly earn tips. The food here is absolutely delicious. We stayed at the Morris Inn for 2 days and got to try breakfast, lunch, dinner AND dessert at Rohr's and let me tell you, every meal was a delight. Their fries come with a delectable truffle aioli that is just superior to any other condiment and the blood orange sorbet was unlike any ice cream I've ever had before. 10/10 totally recommend. I REALLY wanted to give Rohr's 5 stars, but I couldn't. However, let me say that the service- and I mean everyone from the hostess to the bus boys to the waiters- is outstanding. The service is on caliber with a 5-star restaurant in NYC. Eric was a standout server for us, and he moved an incredibly large umbrella just so we could have shade on our table. The food was what had a star dinged for me, unfortunately, but everything else was fantastic. They re-did Rohr's to expand it into more of a larger bar/restaurant, and they have fabulous outdoor seating. They have nice couches and fire pits and a great lawn space just outside of Welshman Family Hall's entrance. To start, we ordered the hummus platter with veggies, and it was very good. For the main, all 3 of us got the chicken sandwich which looked great on paper, but I wish I had gotten something else. The chicken itself was awful. It was rubbery with burnt-tasting breading and a weird honey flavor combo. I ate the whole thing, and we should have sent it back because the chicken was that bad, but we chose not to. Next time I go, I'll order another dish. Other than our main meal, everything else was perfect, hence the 4 stars. If the rest of the evening weren't so great, I would have given them 3 stars due to that entree. Pro tip: you can eat the bar menu anywhere. We ordered from the bar menu because the dinner menu didn't speak to us, and we sat outside. I recommend making a reservation, because even during the pandemic, seating fills up quickly here. Rohr's is the Irish pub in the Historic Morris Inn on the Notre Dame campus. The room is a gracious 1930's upscale drinking hall. They have a superb collection of bottles. If drinking is the order of the night, this is a fine place to do it. Double that if you are wearing a fedora, an overcoat and a double breasted suit. Triple that your date is in heels with marcelled hair. Much of the elderly clientele I saw at Rohr's may have actually lived that way once. The kitchen is pleasant enough. The staff is helpful and charming. The feel is warm and comforting. The prices remind you that you are, after all, eating in a hotel. But if you are here at Notre Dame to visit the old school, The bar at the Morris Inn is old school to match. read more
