This place is underrated. Food is fantastic. Ambience is very nice but not stuffy. Service is extremely friendly. Drinks (the Bramble, the wines) are all excellent. Just a great all around place. In the heart of Notre Dame. Doesn't get much better. #1 Restaurant in South Bend.

We ordered: -Seared ahi tuna 4/5 *The best and most important part of this dish was the freshness of the tuna and how it was cooked. Beautiful outer sear with a pink center, perfect tender texture with every bite. Refreshing! I will say the seasoning and salt is minimal, just a simple lime cream sauce and limey cucumbers on the side. It relies on the tuna itself, and is more on the lighter side of appetizer. -R Burger 4/5 *Solid burger. Simple presentation. Buns were on the sweeter end. -Pan Seared Salmon 4.5/5 *Sauce was delicious and provided a lovely kick to the salmon (some acidity and horseradish in the mix). Salmon was buttery, had a beautiful outer crust, moist and juicy inside. And quite the lovely presentation! -Simply grilled fish - mahi mahi with grilled asparagus 4/5 *I never thought I'd be impressed with any kind of vegetable let alone asparagus but I gotta give this one its flowers, it really was simple yet appetizing with a flavorful char in every bite - I ate every single one. The mahi mahi was, as the name suggests, simple and grilled, enjoyable and filling, nothing out of the ordinary flavor-wise. -My pear lady cocktail 4/5 *Strong toasty almost smoky flavor to me! Not too sweet. The spices (cinnamon, cardamom, cloves) were very aromatic, not sure if I really tasted pear (much more subtle and took a back seat to the spices). I enjoyed it a lot with my meal. Simple and plain presentation. -House wine (red) 5/5 *Top notch. Ambiance/Design 4.5/5 Located in the Morris Inn on the University of Notre Dame campus. Spacious. Clean and classy. High end casual, warm vibes. Their website describes it as a modern tavern which is fitting. Service 4/5 Our server Denise was a very pleasant lady with a warm & kind demeanor! Food took a while to come out but it was all good vibes and everything came out great. Overall: *First time in South Bend and was looking for a place with a good salmon dish because that's what my mom was craving. Was initially a bit hesitant because this menu was on the pricier end; ultimately, I'm glad we chose this place and have no regrets. Warm and inviting space. Nice staff and service. Food wasn't outstanding relative to the price, but still of good quality and satisfying.

I've reviews a few times, I've always had great experience here. Any complaints are how busy it is sometimes and it is a bit pricey. Ambiance is always great. Sometimes a little more quiet at breakfast. Also can get rowdy around game weekends. But always "Irish". The food is really good and the service is great. The people are really nice here. Even on busy days they can be curt and almost seem grumpy. But flash them a smile and call them by name and they are so warm, it's like seeing an old friend. They owner is sometimes around and will even buy you a drink. The 'Mayor', John can be seen on some weekends.

I had the chance to visit when I was in town for a work conference, and decided that one evening I would have dinner in the hotel restaurant. I was seated right away, and greeted with the question if I would like some water. After checking out the menu, I decided to have an old fashioned, which was very tasty. For my starter I had delightful tomato soup with pesto, and my main course was a burger with fries, it was a savory and tasty burger that was cooked just how I asked. I loved it!

Food was great! Husband got to try the steak frites. Ambiance was nice, it's in the middle of the Notre Dame campus. Service was amazing, staff were really nice. Will definitely be returning!

I decided to have brunch here on Sunday. I made a reservation on OpenTable, which was very convenient. The valet attendant gives you access to the parking, which is right next to it. The restaurant is inside the Morris Inn, with easy access once you walk in the entrance to the right. I didn't have to wait long after checking in with the host. The very attentive staff threw out the entire meal. We got a seat close to a nice window. The food was delicious. We ordered the R burger, which I think was juicy and delicious, including salmon and dessert. Everything made this experience much better than the previous one. I've been here 4-8 times in the past. I guess it's much busier during football season. The staff was attentive and friendly, which made this experience even better. It got more occupied with hotel guests checking in and other reservations. Overall great experience

It's been a bit since I stayed at the Morris Inn and ate at Rohr's every night I was there (4 nights or so). I wanted to take my family here because we were in town for a hockey tournament and I wanted to share the experience with them, surely, it did not disappoint. I love this restaurant, and, I love the staff. Fantastic service, and incredibly accommodating for kids. I know! You wouldn't expect the latter, but they will go out of their way for every visitor they have, and, kids are treated with the same Grace (no pun intended for eating at a Catholic University) as everyone else. :) Service was excellent. Per my prior review, the staff works together. As example, a different server noticed it was sunny and asked us if we wanted the shades dropped as we were in the room close to the patio on a super sunny snowy day, and she did that for us. The manager stopped by, joked with us and our server, mentioned the bad weather, and told us if we get in a bind getting home to stop by the front desk and he would help find us a room. This place is just top notch, and very special. Look, if you are around this campus, don't go to the restaurants nearby unless you have already tried this establishment. I really can't stress that enough. If you want the ND experience, this place is a MUST! Park at the bookstore, check that out, and walk into the Morris Inn which is about a 5 minute walk away. Restaurant is to the right when you get in the entrance. It won't disappoint. I promise.

In the hotel on Notre Dames campus, this restaurant has specific hours for dining. We arrived before 11 and had to wait in the lobby for them to open. We had lots of choices and options for vegetarians and gluten free. I was very surprised at the quality of the hummus plate, I was hesitant with the amount of oil in the hummus but it was delicious and there were so many alternate veggies to dip! I had the broccoli quinoa salad which was pretty tasty! I would've wanted more quinoa but there was a lot of broccolini. My son who is very adventurous, enjoyed the salmon more than anything, but there are options like Mac n cheese for the average kids too! It's a good spot to try while visiting campus. Parent and kid approved!

modern and woodsy interior. the staff was truly warm and welcoming. i appreciated the cute cups and plates. the eggs benedict was pretty standard. though one of my eggs was super deflated and had only a tiny baby of a yolk. would return to try their lunch next time

An iconic experience on the campus of Notre Dame. With a lack of elevated food surrounding the campus area, Rohr's provides an upscale dining experience for both Morris Inn and campus goers. I visited many times on campus, ranging from brunches, lunches, dinners and holiday meals. Highlight menu items from all the visits were the Hummus (still think about it), Roasted Beets, Calamari, Burrata and the Burgers/Chicken Sandwiches and the decadent desserts. Bloody Mary's at Brunch and the Hesburgh Manhattan for a cocktail on the patio.

A good affordable fine dining experience! My favorite dish was definitely the pasta - but the duck as also amazing. The other dishes didn't stick out to me too much, but were still delicious and worth a visit. Service and ambience were also great overall.

The restaurant is clean and attractive. I had the Croque Madame, which was literally perfect, and better than those I had in Paris. The bread was perfectly toasted, the cheese perfectly melted, the egg perfectly cooked (not runny, not overly hard), the ham perfectly salted. Others in my group enjoyed the Short Ribs Benedict, Grand Bebe, and Tortilla de Patatas. (I'll note our first visit was the morning after a Notre Dame home game, and their stores were depleted: we could have anything on the menu as long as it was chicken. :) The chicken dishes we had that visit were very well done as well - moist and juicy on the inside and lovely on the outside. Obviously we came back, just not after a home game!)

Onion Soup Gratinee - $11 - Needed salt and wasn't very flavorful. 2/5 stars. Chorizo and Shrimp - $22 - This was easily the best dish. Cooked well, good flavor, and a decent portion (probably because the price is so high). 4/5 stars. Chicken and Leek Puff Pastry - $26 - The pastry was lacking. It was soggy, weird taste to it, and just not pleasant. The filling was also mediocre. Don't get this. 0/5 stars. L'Entrecote de Paris (Steak Frites) - $45 - The steak was chewy, the fries were over salted. For $45, this was not enough steak, whatsoever. Not like it was a good cut either. It's a rip off. 0/5 stars. Pan Roasted Duck Breast - $36 - My mom and I both ordered this, and we could combine both of our dishes to make ONE duck breast. Portion was horribly small. Never have I ever been given HALF a duck breast. The sauce wasn't good either and it was broken. 2/5 stars cause the rest of it was cooked fine. The birthday dessert was a scoop of ice cream and some stale cinnamon pastry thing. This was wildly bad. If the flavors were on point, the prices would be understandable. But the flavors were bad, the prices are expensive, and we waited a very long time to get our food. We couldn't get into a different restaurant that night (it was a Saturday night on move in weekend), but this one we could get into, and now we know why. Don't go here.
