Great beer! I had the seasonal black IPA with the pad Thai and Mahi Mahi fish special. Excellent beer, and delicious food. Though the Thai flavors overpowered the fish a little. Tried a little of my friend's jambalaya. It was very flavorful - a reminder for me to try and make it myself sometime. read more

The mushroom gravy is to DIE FOR. I could drink it every day. Highly recommend. I got it with the pot roast and veggies. Very tasty. Beers are pretty good too. I would come back here frequently if I lived in the area! Our server was Aaron; super attentive and very friendly. Thanks for a great experience! read more

Pot roast was very good, service prompt and attentive. Seasonal wheat beer was excellent. Skip the fried pickles, overdone and lacked any type of flavor. I would have rated this place a 4 star, if it wasn't for the pickles and the somewhat snooty approach I received over the phone. I had called to check if reservations were really necessary. The response was basically "if it's only two, I guess it will be okay without". Heck, it was a Monday nite and the place was half empty. Let me see, "it's the Economy stupid". Outside of this minor issue, the beer was very tasty. Try the Firehouse Red, read more

Ive been to Omaha many times. I always head here for the great happy hour. 3 to 6 Monday-Friday. Ive had the quesadilla mojo and the calamari and the 6.00 pizza (Wed only). Ive never had a bad meal. Their beer list is good and for $2.50 16oz of hand crafter beer at H.H... its a bargain. Service has always been spot-on. A great deal at Happy hour. I just wish they would have a seasonal darker beer. Pumpkin Porter? read more

This place has a brunch buffet. I know what your thinking, a buffet, gross with all that food sitting there...but trust me, this is not that kind of buffet. Everything is delicious plus you can have a custom omelet made and do not skip the french toast. YUM! read more

Worked late and I'm glad that this place still have their kitchen open at 10pm. I ordered a steak in a city where I should order one. I would've gone to a proper steakhouse, but it was too late. The strip was not bad, the fries were good. The scotch ale was nice. This place is a good place to hangout. I ate at the bar which had a pretty long counter that wraps around it. The bartender who served me didn't give his name nor it was on my receipt, but he was the shorter bartender and he was very attentive. read more

A nice little spot for lunch in the Old Market. I came here with my coworkers during a business trip to Omaha and was pretty satisfied with it. It's a pretty typical brewery/restaurant, and has a nice selection of on site brewed beer. I forget the exact name of the beer I got, but it was one of the lighter ones and paired well with my lunch. We started off with the hummus dish and the chicken wings. The hummus was pretty good, and had a large enough portion size for four of us to share. The chicken wings had an interesting sauce, something like hot sauce mixed with ketchup. Both were pretty decent. As for the entree, I got the grilled chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were really good, probably because it was filled with butter. The chicken sandwich was great as well, with a standard mixture of bacon, tomato, and lettuce. It didn't feel very greasy and was quite filling. Overall, the ambiance and decor was pretty solid, as the tables were pretty spread out. We came during happy hour and sat near the bar. They had some decent discounts during the 3-6pm window. I would come here again for a casual lunch with some friends. read more

This isn't a bad place for a bite to eat on a Friday night. I had the pot roast and it was pretty good, though a little tough. They have a decent selection of beers too. I recommend a visit. read more

A short wait to be seated. The chair was broke at my table. Removed it and sat it against the wall while grabbing another from another table. Told the waitress and she then put the chair at the other table where people were then seated. The food was almost average "almost". If you are looking for an average experience for your next meal with employees that don't care. This is the place. read more

The whole family had a great time. 5.99 for a kid's meal and a root beer float is a great deal. Beers are great! I had the Firehouse Red Lager - very smooth! read more

IMO, this is THE true staple of the Old Market! If you love microbrews, this place is your destination. But it doesn't just stop there! The menu is to die for & the food is every bit as good as the menu describes. The ambiance just seems to seal the deal every time. Hard to explain, but as you can tell, I have a love for this place! read more

The food wasn't unique but it was very good (especially the bread pudding). I would eat here again. Also, their kitchen is open past 9 on a Sunday which is especially nice if you're having a late dinner. read more

Very pleased overall with the prompt service and welcoming/gregarious atmosphere, in addition to the excellent home-brewed tap beer selections. Food was certainly above average - had a veggie burger in one visit and a salmon salad in the other. Salmon wasn't bad considering that we are in Nebraska... read more

How could I pass up trying a ribeye laid on top of black beans and jalapeno hashbrowns (special)?! Very good. I find the beers here to be excellent also. Tried the spiced wheat seasonal - me likey. Plus the atmosphere / location are great! Good service. read more

I really liked this place. In some ways, that's not too surprising because I love micro breweries in general and I am a fan of pub grub. I had a wheat beer and my husband ordered a pale ale. He wasn't a fan of the super hoppy IPA he ordered, but I really liked my wheat beer, which had a nice citrus flavor. As for the food, the burgers and sandwhiches are A-OK. The cheddar soup, however, was phenomenal. YUM. If I'm ever in Omaha again I'll definitely stop by again! The area that this place is located in is also kinda fun. Lots of vintage stores....made for a nice afternoon. read more

13 beers on tap and $1 5 oz samples, I'm a happy girl!

The beer and Gouda soup is worth visiting Upstream seven days a week. The chicken and honey mustard sandwich though was just okay. Some servers were incredible while others weren't as accommodating, pretty typical for a brewery. We visited twice in one week and would return yet again. read more

The 3 star rating is a result of a mixed experience I had.... Walking in, I could see the place looked awesome: modern and tasteful, the place had a good vibe about it, with plenty of TVs and a clear shot of the brewing process....but then there was the service. Is it possible to be both slow and overwhelmed? If so, that's what the bartender was. With some direction/motivation from his manager, the bartender finally got us our tasters. Unique, diverse and flavorful, Upstream's beer does not disappoint. The Flagship and Capitol were nice and hoppy with the raspberry lager giving an original taste without an overpowering hint of fruit. Also impressive was their seasonal wheat and another called "Ebenzer". And then there was the food....I wouldn't be so disappointed if the BBQ pizza wasn't labeled as "Upstream favorites"? With a flimsy crust and lack of BBQ sauce this certainly wasn't my favorite. Who puts mushroom on a BBQ pizza? In the end, service and food are both things that can easily be fixed. The beer saves this place and is reason enough for me to return if I come back to Omaha. read more

I went here with three people. I got the cheeseburger. The second person got the patty melt and the third person got the macaroni and cheese. The fourth person got a sandwich. The food was really tasty. read more

My first time in the Old Market area we stopped here for dinner and a sampler flight of beer. Very nice patio area, good music selection, seemed very clean and the service was great. Nice place! read more

The appetizers were delicous but the meal went a little down with the entrees, very fishy fish and boring plates but the desserts were seasonal and excellent. Overall decent night out read more

Great spot to sit outside (not during winter) and enjoy a meal and a beverage. Staff was prompt and made recommendations. Had the fish tacos and small salad. Tacos have a little kick to them. read more

Food was just ok. Best drink they have is the root beer. Wings are decent, but you don't get a lot of them for them for the money. I had a burger, ordered without cheese, that had to go back because it was cooked with cheese. Offered nothing in return even though the rest of the family got to eat before me then got to wait after my food came back. Mistakes happen, but they didn't even act like they cared they had made one. Burger wasn't as good as the wings. I like the one out in west Omaha better for sure. read more

Excellent food - I had the pot roast which was delivered almost unbelievably quickly. I also tried the cask-conditioned ale, which was flavorful and just about as perfect as can be. All in all, a very nice experience, with the notable exception of the staff. At about 4:00 PM on a Sunday I was served by a young fellow who was not wearing a name tag and whose knowledge of beer was limited to what was written on the board. For a Denny's perhaps that's acceptable, but in a brewery with the fermentation tanks in plain view you'd think the staff was a little more knowledgeable about the very thing that makes the business exist. From the greeter to the server, their attitude was "get 'em in, feed 'em, and get 'em out." I was asked if I wanted dessert with most of the main course still in front of me and that just made me feel like they couldn't wait for me to leave. read more

Enjoyed a very nice Sunday brunch yesterday with friends. The brunch has a very good selection of items. I enjoyed an omelette, fresh fruit, bacon, potatoes, a small cinnamon roll, orange juice, and a few bites of tasty desserts. It's maybe a touch pricey, but we think worth it for an occasional splurge. They do have a reduced price for kids which is appropriate and very nice. The service was good. read more

Went there for lunch and sat on the patio. The atmosphere was awesome and it's located in a nice downtown area. I ordered the red lager beer which was very tasty and came quickly. I ordered the standard burger which took over 30minutes to come out. The bun was to large combined with small pickles and dried out meat. On of the worst restaurant burgers I've ever had. Overall good beer and patio, but the food was so bad it ruined it for me. read more

Good food. I always enjoy their burgers. This is a good place to take family for a sit down meal. They have a large selection of beers (I hate beer but I hear it's good) and they brew their own root beer on site which is to DIE FOR! Good stuff. read more

It's a great bar for drinks, but the food isn't all that great. There are multiple levels and a nice rooftop deck.

I wish I could have given them another 1/2 star. We really liked the potsticker appetizer and both of us enjoyed our beer. The service was great and the place was really comfortable. Crowded but not super loud. We came with kids and they both enjoyed their food and there were lots of good choices for them. My husband liked his fish and I enjoyed my entree salad. I would recommend to a friend, especially if they were beer lovers. I guess I'm not giving them four stars because the food is sort of standard. By that I don't mean that it's not well prepared, I just mean that it's sort of an ordinary menu and pretty standard fare. read more

Nice dark ambiance, good selection of beers, and varietal menu. Some items were more pricey; I wasn't willing to pay $20 for an entrée, however good it sounded. A must try is the smoked gouda beer soup. The black bean vegetarian burger was surprisingly good. read more

Very nice selection of local brew. I had a sampler of all their offerings. I'm a home brewer and loved them all. Also had a very good ribeye steak. Can not go wrong with beef from the Midwest. I'm from Kansas City and love a good steak! read more

Good micro-brew pub. I had their brewer's choice rye beer that was very good. I paired it with their pot roast which was very tender.

What a cool place to eat and drink at. I really like the old building and the way they decorated the inside. The food is some what expensive depending on what you order. The beers are a hit and miss. I started with a wheat beer and it lacked flavor. My favorite one was the fireman beer. The beer was smooth and not overpowering. A very good laeger. The main floor has a full bar and lots places to sit at. The upstairs has pool tables and a smaller bar. Beware no Coronas if you like that kind of beer. I think all they serve is their own beer. The staff is super friendly and hard working. read more

This is the American brew pub done right. Great beers and great food. The service has slipped in the last few years so management needs to step up or step away before they ruin this place. read more

Hamburger was almost tasteless. Went for lunch. Almost certainly a frozen patty. No spices-was supposed to be chili-dusted. Beer was OK.. Go somewhere else-there are other breweries in Omaha. read more

Stopped in for a family meal on Sunday. Great place to come in but don't mistake it for a sports bar. It's more of a downtown eatery compared to the one on the west side of town. read more

I went here after one of my friends recommended it to me while I was in town. I went with the gouda soup which was so flavorful I wish I had ordered a large bowl instead. I went with the pot roast for dinner which was good but was a little too much food for one person. The beer I had was okay but overall I would recommend this to anyone else who's in town for work. read more

What a super place in Omaha. We sat on the patio. Big booth so kiddos could spread out/spaz out and we could still sit just quietly and drink our big beers. read more

They have Cask Ale!! Hard to beat the sunday brunch for $16.95. Wish they would bring the Chimichurri Chicken back.

I have visited the Upstream a few times. The food is always good and service is great. Both locations a equally great!
