Great selection of beers! More than just IPAs which we appreciate, but they do have them if that's your thing! The pizza here is AMAZING with good crust and the pub pretzels are amazing. And. Very beautiful bar with helpful bartenders.
Turns out when you bring two people, you get to try 12 instead of 4. Thanksgiving brews are the special drafts; stuffing, pecan pie (my fave), and cranberry sour. Thanksgiving pizza was good--a light turkey, seasoned stuffing, and sweet cranberry vibe. Fungi and sausage pizza was a legit backup too. Service was great and atmosphere was laid back and warm.
This was a super fun stop during restaurant week! Again this place is super close to my house but I've never stopped in before. I did the restaurant week special and got the truffle popcorn (which I'm still thinking about), one of the pesto vegan pizzas (add sausage), and the apple dessert. I was super happy with the vegan pizzas (I'm not even vegan), and the crust. I tried a few beers and was able to find an IPA that really hit the spot. I also tried the seasonal pumpkin beer which was soooo autumnal and spicy. I loved it. But seriously get the truffle popcorn.
Such a wonderful experience at Vis. Been going here for many years and just such a nice community based brewery. With many beers on tap they have beers for everyone. We got two of their pizzas and their truffle popcorn. The truffle popcorn is a must have appetizer! I got the Goonie Pizza which is their version of a crab Rangoon pizza. Perfect amount of crab and sauce. Also the bacon pizza is their version of a BLT. They drizzle mayo on the top of it that just makes it that much better. T
A group of 6 of us came in around 7pm and we were easily able to snag a table. The staff was very attentive and got our drink and food orders taken. I didn't get many pictures. I had The Goonie which was really good with a cream cheese base, crab meat, and sweet chili sauce. A couple of friends are vegetarian and vegan, and we're easily accommodated with their pizza and nachos selection. Great beers!
Came here for the beer, and enjoyed the New England IPA (Tis this be Treason). Wasn't a huge fan of their version of a Belgian Tripel, but I won't hold that against them, that's a tough one to nail it seems. I would definitely come here more if they offered a good happy hour. Food was typical bar food, just something to munch on while having a beer, I went with chicken nachos and they did the job. Inside is a cool space, with a really well done bar, and even some seating that looks out onto the street. Also has some tables available for seating. Service was average, just one bartender serving beers, not overly friendly or engaging, but not rude.
I went to Vis Major on a Friday evening for a beer. All of their options looked so good that I had to get a flight. I was able to try the gose, a dark IPA, a Mexican lager, and a sour that had edible glitter in it. The staff at the bar were very friendly and were able to recommend some of their more popular beers on tap. There's a lot of seating at the bar or at other tables and there seems to be a lot of cool events like trivia going on weekly.

We actually attempted to go previously, but we didn't pay attention to their hours and had to go a different day. This is one of those places that I like to call it nice and quaint. I will start off with the bad first. It really wasn't that busy, and it did take time for someone to recognize us and for us to be served. But it did give us time to see what we wanted, so it was something that I can overlook. I did like it that it was nice and quiet. It was a nice place to chill at. I started off with the surprisingly good Almighty Imperial Stout (see my pic) that comes with a big, toasted marshmallow. And then I followed that up with an even slightly better choice of Elder's Cup, which is a spiced herb beer. My aunt ordered a pepperoni pizza (see my pic) which i tried and really enjoyed. Overall, I was really impressed by my first. I just wish they were open earlier.
I want to start off by saying I'm not the biggest fan of this place, yet so many people I talk to enjoy it. With that said, I'll boost my rating to four stars because not everyone is a perfect fit for every place. Vis Major has always been operated well from what I have seen. The staff is super friendly. The place is super comfortable. It is clean. The beer is never a hit with me. They always have a very good variety but I don't love it. I want to, but I don't. For this visit, we tried the pizza because so many friends talk it up. Again, not a super hit. We ordered the pizza of the month, which had marinara, olive salad, salami, Capicola, mozzarella, and tomatoes. The crust was good. The pizza was lukewarm. The toppings were just right in terms of quantity. They get credit for creativity with their specialty pizzas, that's for sure. I will especially enjoy reading about people's first visit at Vis Major to learn about their experience.
I've visited Vis Major a few times now, and I enjoy it more and more every time! It's a small place in a neighborhood, but always seems to be plenty of parking on the side street. It's small inside, but offers a welcoming and casual vibe. They have a pretty unique food menu, my favorite bar snack here is the truffle popcorn, an addicting savory treat! Don't' sleep on the pizzas!! They do a special every month, but the Goonie (crab rangoon inspired) is so delicious! The real star of the show here is the beer though! The variety of styles, flavors, and colors is sure to please any craft beer lover! I especially enjoyed the Glitter Dreamlover on my last visit, which is a floral sour with edible glitter in it! This brewery is a must visit for any craft beer lover in Omaha!

Vis Major is another of Omaha's fantastic breweries tucked away in Hanscom Park/Field Club. They were a pretty popular place, even on a Sunday evening, so I can't imagine how popular it is on a Friday or Saturday night. However, the bartenders and servers are very attentive and kind. The beers were delicious and they have a nice variety of beers available. The street nachos were similarly delicious and came out very quickly. It was a bit loud, making conversations a bit difficult, which was my only complaint about my visit. I'll definitely be back
Vis Major had been on my list forever and I'm so glad I finally made it! I went to check out their Tropical Escape pop up with the themed cocktails and the vibe did not disappoint. It was a busy night and we were a bigger group, but we were still able to grab a table. Just a heads up, there isn't a ton of seating for bigger groups, so we felt lucky to find a spot! There were only one or two servers working, so we were ready to be patient and expect a wait, but they were so quick! I was impressed with their service. I also loved that you can try smaller tasters of their beers before committing to a full one. I had a taster of their raspberry hibiscus saison and a refreshing lager. All the pizzas we tried were so good! I was honestly surprised by how many interesting combinations they offer. The buffalo chicken was my favorite! Already planning to be back. read more

First came here for omaha beer week. They have an amazing selection on tap! They even have amazing alcoholic slushies for the summers We've come back several times throughout the years, and Vis Major never disappoints! What has actually become my favorite here? The pizzas! This is the best place to come for dinner and drink drinks. I've attended a few hosted events here and have hosted one of them here as well. They have a room to the side that is perfect for birthday parties, celebrations come on any other events! The interior of the restaurant is unique and cool. I was told that a lot of it was sourced from an old church. read more
Stopped by Vis Major and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered the pepperoni pizza but swapped out the regular sauce for beer cheese--and wow, highly recommend doing that. It was rich, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the crispy crust. They also had a fun Halloween-themed cocktail menu, which totally added to the vibe. I tried the Cauldron Concoction and the Graveyard Jam. The Cauldron Concoction was great--festive and easy to sip on. The Graveyard Jam, on the other hand, had an almost creamy texture that kind of threw me off, but I appreciated the creativity and presentation. Vis is my go to brewery in the part of town I live in. Located right off 480 on center street its well located, and the owner/brewer Tom Clements is a delight. The service is always great, and their pizza is outstanding. Im not a fan of a chunk of their beers, (nothing wrong with them, they're well brewed, just not styles I enjoy, but as a Cicerone I can give them credit where it is due). My go to beer from Vis is "If this be treason" a hazy IPA named after a quote from founding father Patrick Henry. The space itself is cool and well decorated using parts from an old church. Amazing pizzas & drinks! They have a special pizza every month. I had a plain cheese & it was great! The goonie was my favorite!! So delicious & tastes just like a crab rangoon. The pesto with toasted almonds was also amazing! Their pretzels are also super yummy. Definitely a new go-to place for pizza. Can't wait to try their pickle pizza. An absolute MUST! They typically have a specialty pizza of the month. I visited in October and was able to experience the dill pickle pizza- topped with bacon. It was so good and the crust was unlike any other. I will be looking out for it! Extra points if you go during the night market and visit Sheelytown across the street. Such a great community/neighborhood feel! I don't know much about beer but the Love at Midnight brew is a new favorite of mine. I also loved the cocktail that I tried, a good ole gin and tonic. Great easy parking to the east of the brewery and the atmosphere is very unique and intimate. Call ahead to ensure seating! read more
I've visited Vis Major multiple times since I moved to Omaha 3 years ago, and it continues to be one of my favorite places to grab a drink of beer. The place is small but has such a nice and casual vibe. The staff is always very welcoming, and the beer is always delicious. I stopped by today to pick up pizza for the Super Bowl, and the bartender kindly gave us free samples of beer while we waited for our food. They create very unique pizzas, and one of my favorites is the Goonie which is inspired by Crab Rangoon. You will always be treated well by the staff here, and the food and beer will not disappoint. If you are a lover of beer, this is a place you cannot miss out on! read more

Do I recommend this place. Is there something better the "Yes"? Infinity. Rotating pizza beer and slushees every month. They think of everything. Their holiday sour beer, Cranberry Sauce, has quickly turned me into a regular here! I will be sad when it's gone but can't wait to see what they come up with next. They've revamped their menu and it's a nice improvement from the old offerings. Pizza is amazing and so is the pretzel with beer cheese! Customer service can be a little hit or miss but generally it's very friendly, if not always very attentive. read more

This brewery has it all! Great atmosphere, tasty beers and delicious food. There's always a fun selection of seasonal and new beers. I'm loving the Plumbtoberfest. They have some great flagship beers as well - Ceres Shrine and The Guardian are fantastic. The Truffle Pop is hands down my favorite bar snack. Popcorn with truffle oil and Parmesan cheese - so delish! I recently ordered a pizza for takeout and was super impressed! I ordered The Pesto's Yet to Come. It had a great combo of flavors and texture! Pesto, caramelized onions, mushrooms, olives and slivered almonds. So yummy! This place is an Omaha gem! They're still open for pickup and limited delivery during the quarantine, so give them a try! The have crowlers to-go as well! read more
I LOVE this place. The bartenders are always SO nice, they have a great menu with pizza of the month, and rotating taps. I am a big sour beer and cider fan and this place always has lots of options for both. They also have to-go crowlers so you can take home your favorite beer! As much as I love the food and drink though, I have to say my favorite part of this place is the weekly trivia! We have so much fun every time and the host is awesome! Damn if this place isn't enjoyable. Amazing variety of brews... check. Convenient midtown location... check. House made pizza... check. Friendly strangers who give us their pizza... check. Friendly staff and cool finishes... check. High chairs and games... check. Maybe this place isn't totally a "family destination" but it's about as family friendly as a bar can be. And you can tell that Vis Major follows the trend of catering to individuals - like myself - the may want to enjoy some classy local beers while feeding delicious non-chain pizza to our young kids. That wasn't our situation tonight specifically but I certainly could see it being so in the future. Tonight we pretended we were in our 20's again and sat at the bar while instagramming our tasting flights of ALL THE BEERS. Some of which I can honestly say I've never had the like of. And that's saying something as I have tried no less thn 377 unique beers. The Ember to Ash and the Tropicrush were totally unreal. Trying not to exaggerate here when I say they were unlike any other beers I've had previously. How soon can we repeat visit?? read more

Left on hold for 20 mins, they never answered, I drive to make it before the kitchen closes. I get there at 30 minutes before closing but I wait 3 minutes for someone to help me and by the time they come they tell me the kitchen is closed. Also they don't have pineapple. Will NOT come back! read more
On the mission to find the best Crab Rangoon pizza in Omaha. First stop, Vis Major. The bartender/staff. Friendly, helpful, and great with suggestions. The crab Rangoon pizza was very tasty. The sauce was a little heavy but flavorful. The cheese was nice and gooey. A nice drizzle of sweet chili sauce and nice crispy wontons. The Michelada unfortunately had some excess foaming issues and I had to ask for another drink due to the salt on the rim sinking into the drink and making it unpalatable. But the bartender understood and comped the ticket. And they have slushies! The Irish Crème slush was incredible! Definitely will be back for more of that! They run monthly specials for pizza. The party room can hold up to thirty standing and about 20 seated with a $400 minimum food tab on the weekend and $300 during the week as of todays date but can change at any time. Good location. Hubby liked his Noble Red. Overall, just for the pizza it's looking like a winner but we'll find out more tomorrow. read more

The beer is very good so don't hesitate to stop by and sample. It was my first visit and I did not order food. They make a variety of very well crafted beers. I will be back to try more. read more
