This place is popular, but the food does not make it worthwhile. The staff, however, has always been nice and accommodating. I remember not being the slightest bit tempted to consume half the salmon dish or pasta dish I ordered on separate occasions. read more

Great location with a cool vibe. Ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and a pint of the Belgian Cucumber beer. The pizza was ok - nothing to write to home about. The beer was pretty tasty and I'd give it a 4/5. Overall, I was a bit let down on the experience and was expecting a little more pizzaz for being in the old market. read more

Visiting Omaha from California, work hosted a party at Upstream on Tuesday night. Our service was excellent- food was outstanding. I ordered the lamb shank because I couldn't make a choice on my own ( I was starving and it all sounded good) after a suggestion from our server. The lamb was sooooo tender, deliciously rich in flavor.... Definitely a must have. I enjoyed one of their brews - IPA- it was excellent as well along with a couple glasses of the house Cabernet. Definitely a 5 star meal - no complaints or suggestions!! read more

Great beers and amazing food. I had the jambalaya and it was amazing. My husband tasted mine and then ordered a bowl for himself. A must stop for visitors to Old Market. read more

The only time I've ever been here was for a Friend's homecoming party. We all met upstairs in the pool room, to hang out. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and it was a very casual atmosphere. I'd like to go back and have an actual meal. read more

This is an awesome place!!! We almost didn't go because it only had 3.5 stars here on Yelp but decided to still give it a try and man did we come out full, satisfied and very happy! We had the Asiago dip for starters and decided to share the New York steak for our main, which was good decision because after that amazing appetizer we were already a little full and the steak was huge. Service was topnotch. (I wish I got our servers name) The craft beer and rootbeer was excellent too and when I couldn't make up my mind which beer to get our server gave me a sample of one of their craft beers. It's also reasonably priced. Really loved this place! A great Omaha gem! read more

This was my third visit to Upstream Brewing and I continue to be pleased. The beers are good and they have a good range of beer styles on tap. This is unusual when you get outside of Oregon, Colorado and Southern California. The food is also good. I had buffet style food this time for a group event and everything was very good. In the past I have had good steaks. read more

I was in Omaha for business and stopped here to get dinner. I had the fish and chips. The chips were great and the fish was good. Nothing great but not bad. The beer was awesome. I had an IPA, a pale ale and a stout. All beers were good and refreshing. Will be back here again, most likely for the beer. read more

this was more of a 3.5 stars. It was good. Food was decent - we specifically came for the Omaha steaks given that we were in Omaha. But because we have a little one - this place was kid-friendly - and we really couldn't do a more fancy steakhouse. But it worked! the steak could have been a bit fresher and the fries were meh. However, I really enjoyed the beer selection, and they paired well with the steaks. Staff was super friendly! read more

Friendly service! Came on a Monday for lunch and there was no wait at all. I had the Gouda and beer soup which was to die for! So so good and I would easily get it again :) we also had the flight of four beer sampler which was a nice way to get a taste of what in house beers they have :) the seasonal uptoberfest lager was my favorite of the flight read more

Was not impressed, I got the full beer sampler, tacos, and pizza. Very mediocre, I was expecting more.

Meh. I just think this place is so overrated. Especially when you know there are sooooo many better places in Omaha! I have been here numerous times, for social events/parties, going out at night, lunch or dinner with family when they visit.... each time it's just average. Food is definitely overpriced for the average-ness that is the food. read more

We visited this place twice in April - once when we sat at the bar and had lackluster service and really disappointing beers, and a second time sitting at a table where we tried pizza and rootbeers (root beer was really sweet and nothing special, pizza was thin crust BBQ chicken and was solid, if a little oversauced), and had an attentive, friendly and helpful waiter who made up for the frosty, terse service we'd gotten from the bartender when we came in the first time. The table service is far and away better than the bar, which suffers from understaffing and waves of busy due to large groups off the street. The beers, unfortunately, aren't worth writing home about in contrast to the other sublime beer offerings waiting for you in the same district. read more

We are from out of town and picked this place solely on the ease off getting there (we could walk to it). After reading reviews and looking at the menu I had high hopes. I was a little disappointed. We decided to sit outside because the weather was beautiful. Our waiter was very scattered. It took him forever to greet us and her drink orders. My mom asked for a premium margarita with no salt but she got well tequila and lots of salt. We had to ask 3 times to get a sprite for my 11 year old daughter. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks and the bar tender is the one who finally brought them out. I ordered the artichoke dip and it was cold. I didn't send it back as we were just glad to finally have food to eat after a long day of travels. My mom and daughter both ordered salads and they were both swimming in dressing. My dad hit the jackpot with fish and chips, though. I would probably give it another try, but this is our only night in Omaha. Definitely not worth then $65 spent. read more

Delicious brewed beer, good service and nice patio. If it's nice weather, I highly recommend eating outside. The gouda soup and mac and cheese are good bets! Service was friendly and helpful when picking out beer to match our tastes. Will be back if I ever find myself in Omaha again read more

I love eating here. It can't get much better than this. The portions are very large, just a friendly warning :) I started out with the smoked gouda soup as an appetizer... it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.... it is so good. I have had two courses here before, having visited twice, I had a Reuben sandwich and I had fried gnocchi with vegetables. The Reuben was delicious, but I think the bread could have been softer, it was kind of rough on my mouth. That was probably more my fault for not buttering it though. The gnocchi and vegetables was an excellent vegetarian dish, it had a large portabello chopped with asparagus, buttersquash and other greens mixed in. All of the beers at this restaurant are actually brewed there. You can even order a jug of a beer to go if you would like. I'm a big fan of the "firehouse red lager". One thing I would strongly recommend: They have a 12-glass wine sampler tray for 12 dollars. It's a lot of fun because your party can try a wide variety of wines. There's an impressive pool hall here, which would be great for a guy's night out. The wait staff will serve you at the pool table, they have it all set up for parties to dine and drink while playing. read more

Beer and service make this place great! Our server (wish I remembered her name) was so fun and great with us & kids. Suggested items on menu when we asked- so thankful for that. Food was good- beer great! Magician was fun for all!! read more

Ok beers. Had a flight but was not impressed with the beer. The descriptions of the beer are great but doesn't match what actually is placed in front of you. Food was good, burger was juicy but a little burnt on the outside. read more

The grilled ribeye was good. I should have asked to not have the sauce put on the top. It was good, but a little hot. I didn't happen to be in a spicy food frame of mind. The potato fritters were delicious. They give you a lot of vegetables. read more

So, basically ended up here after being told there was any hour wait for a half empty restaurant next door. Glad I ended up here though! Had the jumbalya.... phenomenal. My friend had the raspberry chicken.... also wonderful. Will definitely be back!! Great food and service. read more

One of my worst five server experience ever! Everything was a wait including drinks, beer, food and bill. Beer was good and the steak was good with a very nice food presentation. I enjoyed their version of "tater tots.' Aside from visiting the bar I don't know if I will return. read more

I was in town on business and came here for dinner. I had the NY strip which came with a side salad and fries. It was cooked well but was a bit tough. Both the meal and the service were average. read more

Have been several times but last night was horrible and will not go back. Beer was good but the raspberry chicken was not. Was very dry and sips of beer to get it down. Rice was old as it ws crunchy and steamed veggies consisted of 2 carrots and 2 small slices of squash. Bad bad bad. read more

Great food and environment. Our server, Ryan was excellent and super attentive. He gave us some great recommendations on food. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Omaha. read more

I would never spend money here again. The server was rude. Rude as in she was snippy when we asked for things like water, condiments ...the normal things people need when eating. Do you want to talk about how long our drinks for the bar took? Try 20+ min. They arrived with the food. AND OMG, did I pay over $12 for a tiny top shelf margarita and feel ripped off, YEP! Let's move on to the pretzel chicken sandwich. I didn't order it on a pretzel bun, but I should have. It would have hid the fact the chicken was half a piece of chicken. I think that meal was $12 or so. Rip off! My total bill was over $100 and I regret every dollar spent. There are so many other places in Omaha that will not disappoint, don't waste your time or money here. read more

Flew into town from San Diego. This born and raised Nebraska girl couldn't wait to have a burger and a beer!! Ordered the burger for 9.99 and asked for cheese, onions and pickles. It was the worst burger I've had in a long time. Just awful. It was so dry and rubbery. I told the waitress, Alison, who didn't check on us after dropping off our food, and her reply was, "Oh, I'm sorry." She literally turned and walked away. My wife and I stared at each other, like did that just happen? Had to flag her down for the bill, and the burger was $11.74. $1.75 for cheese? Are you kidding? I asked the waitress how that was possible and she shrugged her shoulders and said, "Oh, I thought I'd be like .50" to which I replied, why did it even cost extra? She walked away again!! Had I not been so tired from the flight, I should have asked to see the manager. I'm not a picky person and hate to complain. But had to leave a review on this. Huge let down all the way around. The vanilla stout beer, not sure of the name, was very warm too in the flight I tried. Horrible experience, and they weren't busy at all when we went in. read more

Two trips to Omaha and two trips to Upstream. The beer is tasty! Food is above average, and the service was solid both times. If you are roaming around the Market, definitely stop in for a brew sampler! read more

Went here for lunch with the family after visiting the Old Market. We were seated outside, which was very pleasant as the weather was nice. We were not very impressed with the food. Tasted ok. My young daughter, who was hungry, did not finish her food as she complained that it tasted plain. Also, the service was a bit slow. Though their beer is good. read more

First time in Omaha and after beers and dinner here I will be back. Flagship IPA was amazing on all fronts and coupled nicely with the chicken quesadilla that I had. Damn the microbreweries and more power to the craft brewers that get it like these guys do. read more

This is my go-to spot whenever I visit Omaha. The atmosphere is fun and the brews are very good. The service is always great. They don't really have anything unique on the menu, but their food is always great quality. read more

Delicious homemade craft beer and melt-I'm-your-mouth food. You must...I mean...MUST get the artichoke dip! My mouth is watering just thinking about it to write on this review. Other dishes I love from the Upstream are, the tomato bisque & the best falafel pita I've ever had in my life. And I'm from Aventura, FL (lots of falafels in Aventura)! Make sure you check it out! read more

My friend and I came in to Omaha for a concert and happened upon Upstream as we wandered around. We were pleased to find their outdoor seating with a nice view of downtown Omaha. Our waiter gave us great beer recommendations, and we then found out that they had a Wednesday night special for half-priced pizza and $1.75 off a pint. We went for the Blonde Pizza and weren't disappointed! After splitting our bill, our total came to less than $8...a great deal for a prime location! We had a great dining experience here! read more

Wonderful atmosphere. Excellent waiter (Jordan- even though it was just his second day). Ribeye was cooked to perfection. Green beans as a side were lovely. The artichoke dip as an appetizer is a must try. Nice selection of brews. I enjoyed the Firehouse Red. Nice, smooth with a lovely Caramel finish. read more

The beer is good, better than any preservative filled shelf beer, the food has been excellent everytime my wife and i have been. This is a regular spot for us to have just good meal for a decent price, in a warm inviting atmosphere read more

We are in town for a concert so we'd never been here before. The menu looked good so we decided to check it out. The food was very good. I have to give it only three stars because we we arrived the host asked if we wanted to sit upstairs. We agreed but then he proceeded to walk all us all the way to the back. It was very weird to be so isolated with the exception of a group two tables away. They had a small child who screamed the entire time we were there and the parents didn't much to comfort the baby. We were able to see down into the lower level which was an entirely atmosphere. We are still scratching our heads as to why we were seated upstairs. read more

I've been reading these reviews and it sounds like most of them are for the Upstream downtown. The tomato basil soup there is great. Better than the soup at the newer Upstream out on West Center. We live close to this one so go there the most. The food out West Center's is much better in my opinion than the food at the downtown Upstream. You can't go wrong by ordering the lunch specials. They are truly special. Especially the fish. read more

Simply put: the selling point to this place is the booze and atmosphere. The food and, more often than not, the service is pretty...meh. And now that I don't drink anymore I really have no reason to come to this place ever again. Thank you sobriety. Just like you'd save me from sleeping with a fat chick, you just saved me from walking back into this place. read more

Fantastic atmosphere! Great for business, dates, groups, or even in your own! Food was delicious, especially the artichoke & Asiago cheese dip served with beer bread. I also enjoyed the salmon dinner. If you can't make up your mind on a beer, try the flight of samplers! My server gave the best recommendations and was so professional and friendly - thanks Patricia!! read more

Good place for food, beer, or billiards. And all the above. It's huge, so it never feels too busy, and it's in the Old Market, so you got other things to do around here when you leave. The artichoke dip left an impression. read more

For the price of the food I was expecting high quality, or at least flavor other than grease. My family ordered the fried pickles and calamari for appetizers. The fried pickles had hardly any pickle taste, all we could taste was the greasy breading. The calamari was a plate of crumbs, there was hardly no squid and if i was lucky to have a tiny piece of squid amongst the crumbs it was flavorless. After appetizers, which we hardly touched, we were really hoping the entrees would make up for everything, we thought wrong. My mother and I both got burgers, the burgers were disgustingly greasy and lacking of flavor. Lastly, the service was terrible. Our waiter barely checked with our table and when we talked to the manager about our dinner he seemed to not care about our disgust with his restaurant's food. Never going to Upstream again. read more
