We sat upstairs by the bar in a room adjacent to some pool tables. We had a bit of a late dinner and it was obvious that in the evenings the upstairs area is more of a bar hang out than restaurant. The food was good and the beer was pretty decent. The server was good and kept on top of everything but our food took forever to come out. Overall, not a bad place but next time I'll probably request to sit downstairs instead. read more

I've been here a couple times when I have visited Omaha. The beer selection is good, and the food has always been good. The only gripe I really have is the price of the food. On my latest trip it wasn't on my tab, so I can't complain that much! read more

It's Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2015. We came here to eat dinner, taste, and drink beer and most importantly, watch the Stanley Cup Finals 2015, on the their TV. The game is going into overtime, the Ducks versus Chicago, and our waitress turns off the TV!!!!!!! She asked us if we wanted desert, we declined, and she rudely responded "GOOD"! We'll never go back!!!!!!! read more

If your looking for good local brewery and food this place hits the spot.. Nice burgers and their seasonal selections are great. Top notch service every time I've been in so that will keep them on the top of list when looking for a quick bite or a pint in the old Market read more

I first came to Upstream as a beer nerd, but the food and atmosphere are what have made me truly love this place. The beer is good - not the best I've ever had but definitely worth trying. However, the food has been phenomenal in my four experiences here. The artichoke dip is completely amazing, as is the smoked gouda and beer soup. I can't recommend Upstream enough. read more

I wasn't too impressed with the food here. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Penne Pasta with red pepper cream, mushrooms, peppers and fresh rosemary. It was marked as an Upstream favorite so I gave it a try. I wasn't a fan of this dish at all, it was lacking major flavor. I enjoyed the wheat beers and the bartenders were all very nice. Probably wouldn't eat here again, but it seems like a nice place to grab a brew. read more

Food was excellent a little smaller portions then what was expect but not a huge deal. Service could have been much better. Wasn't busy and we had to remind him of a beer, soup and Mac and cheese. Then when it did come it was almost like musical dishes as everyone got something other then what they ordered. Getting the bill we ended up having two things swapped wrong so he had to go back and change. read more

Okay, you can't come to Omaha and not have an Omaha steak. But I wouldn't suggest this as the place to get it. My steak was served with cream sauce, garlic smashed potatoes and butternut squash. Not exactly a gourmet meal, but it was edible. The Cosmo, however, was a different story. But then again, I suppose it's hard to mess up a perfectly good drink! read more

My great aunt and uncle suggested we come here for dinner one night. It was a very good steakhouse from what I could tell and since it has the name "brewing company" I decided to have a flight. The beer was pretty good and I really enjoyed the lighter wheat ales. Not surprising I like my beer either really light or very heavy and dark... Not much of an in between person. I ended up having the steak salad and it was delicious!! The steak was good and well cooked. The location was cool and the vibe of the restaurant was chain like without feeling too commercial. I realize that's conflicting but it's the feeling I got there lol. Overall I'd definitely recommend for a quick bite and a beer. If your In that area! read more

Warning....kitchen closed at 2pm. A wasted trip downtown. Advertised closing time was 3pm.

Beers are good..service is great. Great place to go on Sunday. Happy hour menu is small though.

What a great meal!! Took a guest here tonight for dinner. Everything was great! The atmosphere is perfect and the food was even better!!

New York strip was ok. If you didnt use their infused butter topping...or A1, or Heinz 57, the steak itself didnt have much flavor. Ay least it was cooked to order....medium. Service was a little below average. Seems like a nice place to have a couple drinks but I will be looking for a better food experience for the money. Plenty of decent prospects close by. read more

We came here on a Friday night at 8:45 after traveling from Kansas City. We were ready for beer & food & were excited to try something local from Omaha! We were seated upstairs - very nice atmosphere, typical of a brewpub. Exposed brick and wood beams, open layout - we were excited to try some beer! It was hard to try the beer, however, because it took almost twenty minutes for a server to come by. There were at least 4 that walked past us & awkwardly avoided us while we just stared them down. It took so long that we almost left because we weren't sure if anyone was ever going to help us. Finally a server came by & took our drink order, didn't really know much about the beer, got them confused, & then informed us there was a shift change, so he was going to be our server. The beer was good - nothing out of the ordinary. I'd recommend the Flagship IPA. Food was good too, again, nothing out of the ordinary. Overall, it probably would've been 4 stars if not for the service. read more

The restaurant has it's own bakery in the basement. Every meal thus far we have enjoyed .. Inside or outside seating family or date friendly causal attire read more

Mediocre food and mediocre beer. We have been here before but only came back because of a Groupon. The service is poor and the environment is not that interesting. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

This place was just ok for us. We sampled a few of the beers and really none of them were exciting enough to entice us to order a second pint. That being said, none of the beers were bad either. I ordered one of their pizzas which felt kind of like something you'd get at TGI Friday's or maybe Applebee's. Again, not bad but for the price I was hoping for food that felt a little less corporate and a little more... personal? Maybe that doesn't make sense. Our server was nice and very friendly but over the course of our meal the restaurant got busy and we were slightly neglected - not a huge deal, but it felt like it took a while to actually get out of the restaurant after we finished eating. Overall, I guess I'd compare this place to Rock Bottom Brewery... I'd be fine coming back here again, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice really. read more

SO over it. Generally THE Old Market place non-Omahans think of, but the menu hasn't changed in years and isn't that great; quality has seriously been slipping. I suppose I'd grab a beer here, then drag friends to the far superior M's Pub. read more

Our first night in Omaha we went here for dinner. We were able to eat al fresco. The falafel sandwich was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and ensured everything met our expectations. Because of our first visit we sent a group there the next afternoon for lunch and they were equally as impressed. read more

Beautiful historic building! High ceilings, exposed brick and beams and a huge wrap around bar with great beers. The fish tacos and Omaha steaks are TO DIE FOR! Pool tables upstairs and lots of TVs. We will definitely be back, if we find ourselves in Omaha, NE again. read more

We ran into this place by accident while shopping at the market. The food was amazing and there was plenty of different drinks. Service was great, and fast. Would go definitely go back! read more

Food is constantly good! Service can be spotty sometimes depending on how busy it is. I like going here because I know that they are clean and fast and constantly good. Their brunch buffet is amazing - a little on the pricey side but still worth it! read more

Boy has this place gone down hill. While their beer is pretty delicious, their food is only so-so and declines with every visit I make. Their service is never something to be desired. While touted as a "sports bar" and brewery, they don't play a lot of NFL games. Last time I was there, it was the end of the Broncos season, and my cousin was ADAMANT that we had to watch the game before his flight back to Denver took off. We were with his mum and her husband, so I took them here, knowing that DJ's would be packed (it was the night of the Creighton/Nebraska basketball game) and not wanting to take them to a real dive bar. They told us that after the Chiefs game, they would put it on. Well we waited... And waited... And waited. My cousin every few minutes would go up to the bar and ask what was up and they just said it should come on soon. Well ten minutes after the game had started my cousin threw two twenties on the table and said, "we're leaving". In a blizzard he made us walk around, searching for the game. Long story short, Upstream doesn't have the NFL network like they said they did. Nor do they have the sports package - which as a sports bar, I feel like that is necessary. The time before that, I brought my Nana and we each got burgers. Not only were we forgotten about, but our burgers were so greasy, they were too soggy to hold and the buns came apart the moment we lifted them. I hate eating my burgers in sports bars or breweries with forks. It is unnatural. UnAmerican. That being said, the beer is good. Get the Firehouse Red. (I went to dinner with a group of guy friends and one of their parents once. They all got the raspberry something or other and I got this - everyone switched to mine by the end of the dinner.) Delicious. I would say the only decent thing to do there, anymore, is to grab a pitcher of some Firehouse Red and a rack of balls and go shoot some pool with a few buddies. read more

Beer was good, with friendly staff and a great environment. I had the turkey philly and was sadly disappointed. It was so dry I ate the fries only. My husband had the bacon cheeseburger and was also disappointed. read more

This was a very solid 3 star experience...my waiter, Vince was friendly and did his job very well...After wondering what to order I went with the chicken fried chicken with a side of mashed taters and a tiny cucumber salad...the salad was very tiny but had a good flavor...the chicken was real tasty and cooked very well...the taters came out looking a little dodgy but were surprisingly tasty...I thought the portion could have been bigger, but that's more a personal thing than any slight against UBC...price wise the main course I was happy with but am slightly annoyed that a soda cost almost 3 bucks...that's quickly becoming a pet peeve of mine when dining out these days...my seat wasn't the best , but again I probably should have spoken up...Since I'm not a beer fan, I'm probably not the customer for this place...However, I'll come back and try other things on the menu since a few looked pretty tasty... read more

Upstream Brewing - The potatoes taste way better than they look lol - Bars Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

Went here last weekend and the vibe was just all wrong. Servers were attentive, but atmosphere wasn't friendly. The garlic beer bread I might've gone back for, but we were not impressed with the food. Portions were small for the prices and sort of bland. read more

Been here a few times. Never really impressed with the food. The brews are alright, but it tends to be a little pricey overall. Not one of my favorite places to eat. read more

This is just a review for DRINKS. We stopped by after the Berkshire Hathaway meeting because it was a gorgeous day & they had outdoor seating. Service was not prompt and drinks were just ok. Maybe a margarita wasn't the right thing to order here but, heck, it IS a bar & they should be able to make one. They did make one but it wasn't very good. My friend ordered one of their beers & her exact words were "If i were blindfolded & drank this I would not be able to tell this was a beer". Now THAT can't be a good sign, can it? read more

Best customer service ever! We had ordered Grub Hub on Saturday and was delivered the wrong food. Upstream corrected the order and did not charge us at all for the error. Thanks for taking care of a customer properly!! read more

Food was like Denny's or IHOP but the ambience was upscale and modern. They have a decent bar with big tv screens. The building was impressive but the food and service were average. read more

Great staff and beer selection. I didn't eat here but I would have if anything jumped off the menu at me. It is withing walking distance from the Hilton Garden Inn located downtown which is a huge plus. Maybe if i was hungrier then something would have been appealing. Awesome place for local and really good beer though and a great bar. read more

Overrated, overpriced and worth skipping. In-laws took us there for dinner. FIL's pork schnitzel came out burnt, hubby's steak was charred black and all our veggies weren't even warm enough to melt butter! MIL's soup was the only thing that was decent, but how hard is it to dish up a bowl out of a pot??!! Our waitness was less than friendly and acted like she was mad to even be there. As my MIL said "she's snarly". Won't be going back and neither will the in-laws. I'm only giving it a 3 because the homemade root bear and pot roast were good. read more

This place blows!!! Should have left after the initial omen when approached by a homeless senior dressed as a child who asked if she could get anything for $7. We said no but nothing on this menu is worth $7. There was a French fry and like a hundo hush puppies in our calamari. Usually would be pleasantly surprised by a French fry but it was undercooked. I got gnocchi which was pretty much just mashed potato puffs. our waitress had serious tude and not in a good way. She kept asking how things were and then answering her own question without pausing by saying "good!" and scurrying away. Wish I could give 0 stars! read more

The filet mignon was excellent, the green beans wrapped in bacon were a brilliant side, but the pomme frites were cold, and didn't seem fresh. The service was good, and wine and beer selection was nice. I was very happy to see that they serve dinner until 10 on Sunday. read more

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Had to wait just a few minutes (to be expected on a Saturday). The service was excellent. Tried the flight of four samples of beer. The samples are large enough to share with another person. The American Wheat and Firehouse Ale were my favorites. I had the BBQ Steak Southwest Salad and my husband had the meatloaf. My salad was really good and the meatloaf was very filling. Portions were large and we had no complaints about the food. We also ordered the peanut butter brownie. The kitchen did not heat it up so it was somewhat hard to eat but whatever. Overall we'd return for the good service, large portions, and sample of beer. read more

This was my first time being in this restaraunt. It had a very nice atmosphere, and it was quiet enough to have a conversation. The service was FANTASTIC! We had a group of 20 people in there and we were served about 15 minutes after we ordered. I was blown away with how often they refilled my glass, and how kind they were. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Big Fail Upstream ... your waitress refused to serve me a beer without an ID, even though I'm 32 years old. I'm with 3 other friends NONE of whom are drinking, and I'm not driving because I live downtown. But I can't even get a beer at a brewery! Big Fail. read more

i went here last night on a recommendation while I'm visiting and left feeling it was a totally average experience. the filet was decent and nothing we had was bad but i can't say that i can give it a rave review. the bright spot of the the place was their IPA which was amazing. seems like it would be a great place to stop by and have a beer and a snack and i would come back for that. read more

Beer here is good. Food is mediocre. The last time I was there I had some sort of grilled vegetable medley that I liked quite a bit, but everyone else said their meal was just ok. A friend from Council Bluffs swears their Dundee Scotch Ale is his favorite beer of all time. I loved the Firehouse ESB, myself. read more

I had the Honey BBQ, Bacon, and Cheddar burger with fries. The burger was solid. The BBQ wasn't overwhelming but tasty so that was nice. It's not among the best burgers in town but it's not bad if you're here to play pool and enjoy a pint like I was. The fries were simply mediocre. The food here is better than Nebraska Brewing Company in Papillion but not nearly as good as Lazlo's. read more
