I have been to upstream a few times the food is good the service is spotty, but I did go on a few of the busier days. Although, I did just call to try to make a reservation and the lady I think her name was Gina, was extremely rude and not helpful at all, she ended up hanging up on me i'm a absolutely annoyed and will not be coming back. Upstream I hope you fix your hostess problem. read more

Delicious food and beer that had the entire table ooohing and ahhhhing the whole time. Definitely recommend.

OMG the fried pickles are awesome and so us the Gold light lager! Waiting for my salmon pasta!

We ordered Calamari and 2 grilled chicken sandwiches. The service was amazing but the food was not. Calamari was very rubbery but the touch of the peppers on top was unique. The grilled chicken sandwiches were both very dry even with the green apples on it. It was hard for us to finish our sandwich because it was so dry. The fries that came with the chicken sandwiches were amazing though. I also ordered a raspberry lemonade which has free refills but since I added a flavor to the lemonade (raspberry) it costs $.50 a refill. The lemonade was very good. Overall, if you don't drink this isn't the place to go for food. read more

I really like Upstream and I often come here when I'm in town for work. The Pot Roast and Steak salad are excellent! Good beers too. Tonight I had the Strip steak and was very underwhelmed! The flavor was pretty good but it was kind of tough and rubbery...not what I would expect from a $28 Omaha Steak! Definitely not worth the price! I'll be back but next time will stick to the dinner entrees! read more

It's a cool place on the inside, but that was kind of the only nice part. We had the wings to start and they were alright. Thick pieces of chicken, but they just tasted odd to us. We both got the Mac and cheese and it was decent but nothing out of this world. The bill ended up being 51 bucks, and we didn't get any alcohol don't know if we'll be back. Service was also very slow and she forgot our salad as well read more

Post-BH annual shareholders' meeting, this place was mayhem! The international crowd was having a ball, and the beer was flowing. The outside seating area has 4-person tables, but there was standing around -- as long as you're inside that fence! Service, considering the crowd, was top-notch. They hustled, they delivered. We had hummus, beet salad. Good bar food, not excellent food, if you know what I mean! Some of the outside seating areas had shade umbrellas. There is a parking lot across the street, and there is limited metered street parking. Not too far from the convention center, and located basically in Old Town, this was a nice stop-off. read more

The Root Beer is pretty darn good!!! Don't get me wrong, the other beers are great as well.... I had the $10 sampler and it was well worth it. Paired with the Jambalaya, I was in Hog Heaven. Great food, great service, great price. read more

My husband and I each ordered Omaha Steaks off the menu here. They were cooked well and tasty. The beer was fine but nothing special. Our server was polite, but not particularly patient or attentive. In Yelp terms: A-Ok read more

I have had good and bad times here. Lunch has always been great. Service has usually been alright. The beer is always good. Although, there was one time I was extremely disappointed. I was served a flatbread pizza with leftover chicken pieces. The chicken was so dry, it was difficult to swallow. I know this is happy hour pizza, but come on. If you can't eat this, you shouldn't serve it! Food - 5 Service - 6 Atmosphere - 7 Beer/wine - 8 Overall Score 6.5/10 read more

Visit this place even if you are in Omaha only for one day. They brew an impressive selection of excellent beers, the service is friendly and the thin crust pizza is very tasty. My favorite beer, the firehoue RED! it is really red. The brick walls reminded me of Brooklyn and the smart beer logos kept me busy for a while. I recommend the happy hour, specially Wednesdays for the half off pizza deal. My very favorite pizza? Got to be the Italiano! Yum...... I only have one complaint and want to ask the dessert chef to work on the "Cream Brulee" a bit more becasue it is not up to par yet. The caramelized sugar top was too thin and soft; it needed more fire. The creme brulee was not creamy at all... I even could feel the grains of suger crunching under my teeth so mudslide was the correct name for it. The "too" soft gingersnap cookies tasted good but they were crumpling at touch and fall apart. My recommandation: either eliminate the creme brulee from the menu or do more tests to get it right! You offer great beer but Omaha deserves good desserts too. read more

We were visiting family and took a side trip downtown. We ask a local where to eat and they suggested this place. We got calamari and fried pickles for appetizer. Main dishes we ate Fish and Chips, Reuben, soup of the day(potato and bacon), pub salad, kids pizza. The Scotch Ale was great! The best part of the meal was the Bread pudding for dessert!!! I would recommend eating here. We definitely will come back every time we visit. read more

Upstream Brewing - Bread pudding! - Bars Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

We've been to up street brewing twice. The beer selection is great and the food is pretty good too. The first time I went I had the jam chicken sandwich. The chicken was grilled and moist inside. Overall it was pretty good. The second time I went I got the jumbiliya. This was a fantastic dish. The taste was there, the serving size was nice, and the food was delectable. Overall this would have made it onto our best of Omaha list. read more

Upstream Brewing - Basa Shrimp sauce and black eyed peas. - Bars Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

We're very new to the Omaha area and Nebraska as well. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing a real for in over 20 years and went downtown to checkout a local fur store. Afterwards my son and I decided to grab dinner. After looking around we choose this nice looking restaurant. We got seated quickly upstairs near the pool tables ( need to come back for those with the husband) and Bryan was our server. He was awesome! As we'd never been here before he made sure we ordered beverages we'd enjoy. Brought my son a sample of their in house made root-bet y, he didn't like it I thought it was delicious. O sampled a couple beers and made my section. I had one of the best blackened Salmon salads over every had! OMG it was amazing. Son had a salad as well with a side of broccoli. I'll say this is a nice place for a family dinner or even date night! read more

This brewery and restaurant has been a staple in the Omaha old market for years. I love the ambiance and family friendly events they have. First off the beer is great and being Omaha's first micro brewery that I visited 10 years ago they hold a special place in my heart. But as a friend said recently "you visit a brewery to try the beer but come back for the food". I would agree in this case. Their beer is good but not the best in town. But the food has always been spot on and when you can have a beer, dinner, then play pool afterward you've got a winning combination. We recently visited in Fat Tuesday and had a great time. read more

Not bad overall I suppose, but they dont have porter or stout, which I find surprising. I tried the calamari, but had to send it back. It was like trying to chew on one of those rubber bracelets.... The staff was ok, a bit inattentive from behind the bar once your order was placed. Too many better places for quality beers in the area to make me want to waste my time on this one again. read more

Just okay. The beer I ordered - upstream's American wheat - was okay but nothing great. I ordered the Caesar salad to start, was good but completely coated in dressing and cheese so I couldn't finish it. Raspberry glazed chicken was okay but not very warm by the time I got it. The vegetables on the side were not cooked at all, only good part of the meal was the plain rice served with it. The waitress then took far too long with our checks on a not so busy evening. All in all, I would not recommend. read more

We enjoyed having a drink with friends here. They had a selection of brews and wines that were acceptable. Our waitress was the best! I didn't catch her name, but she was great about helping us fix our wobbly table and refilling our drinks. read more

I like to come here for dinner when family is in town. They have a easy, simple menu with something for everyone. From scrumptious Mac and cheese to delicious schnitzel! But, by far one of the top 5 beer cheese soups! If you're in the mood for a salad, try the beef tips salad! Large beer selection too as they are brewery too! Service is hit or miss depending on your server. However, there is never a long wait for food! read more

Came here for lunch and sat outside. Looks like a fun place to hang out with pool tables inside. Food - 5 We were starving. Blackened burger and veggie burger were delicious. House beers are great. Relatively typical bar menu with sizable portions. Service - 4 A bit on a slow side when it comes to taking orders, but food arrived promptly. People friendly for the most part. Atmosphere - 5 Nice outside seating area. They also have a second floor patio. Inside it's a typical pub with a bit more flair. Value - 4 Good value for the atmosphere and food. Would recommend. read more

Happy hour is awesome! $3 pints - love it! Pot roast was delicious and perfectly seasoned for my taste! Great and friendly service...

Got order wrong and everyone felt food was mediocre. $12 chicken sandwich was a bland price of chicken with pickle and mayo, that,s it. I could pay half that for a better sandwich at almost any fastfood resturant. read more

The food was ok. Nothing too spectacular. The service was particularly cruddy the night my wife and I went. They could not get her drink right, and it took forever to get it to her, even the incorrect ones. Ok to stop in for a beer and bar food. But I'd find someone else for dinner. read more

Since moving to Nebraska in August, this has become our go to place if we are in the downtown area. The food quality is always pretty solid. Pretzel bites with the beer cheese sauce are absolutely ridiculous. I could eat five orders by myself.I've tried a couple of the chefs specials and never been disappointed. They offer multiple types of beer, but they all have a really unique Upstream flavor. And be sure you know what you're getting, I've pulled the trigger too quickly on a couple of beers before and regretted it.Don't be afraid to ask for a sample. read more

Came here for lunch. Place was empty when we got there but quickly filled up. Had the golden, and the IPA. Tried the Ruben, it was pretty good, a little soggy at the bottom. Overall a good place to get a beer and a bite. read more

The service was stellar! Champagne was our waitress and she was lovely! It was very busy, we were walk ins . They gave us a 1 hr 45 min time which was only an hour. Food was delicious our group had prime rib and shrimp pasta bowls and lamb kabobs. Everyone was pleased. Our beer drinking peeps loved their choices of beer. Would come again. read more

Loved this brewery/restaurant. First the beers were great. The amber and the American wheat were very good. But then we had the cheese soup with their homemade bread. Wow. That was fantastic. If I had not been going out for steak later we would have had another couple of bowls. The service was great and the place was cool. read more

Best restaurant/ pub in Omaha's Old Market District. Andrew, the server, is exceptional. First class service and memorable food. Also, they sell homemade pound cakes to go that are surprisingly delicious and make a great souvenir for the family if you're traveling. Try the chocolate banana bread or the Hazelnut pound cake. Everything is on point! Will be back. read more

Went here for dinner and had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon. The whole dinner was excellent and the fish was delicious. The roasted corn salsa was spectacular and the vegetables were perfectly prepared, fresh, crisp and colorful. The rice was very good too. Service was excellent and the bartender was more than glad to offer some free tasting samples. I has three different beers and I must say all were great. The atmosphere was casual yet the place feels more sophisticated than your average bar/grill or microbrewery. After a week of flight delays and bad weather, this visit pretty much rescued the business trip from being a total downer. If in Omaha again, I would definitely come back. read more

Good service. Not so good food. The wine was corked, the salad I got was completely wrong with gross, wilted greens. I let the server know that the salad was not what was on the menu and barely ate it (also didn't touch the wine) and was still charged full price. The tables are really close together so the staff was constantly squeezing through as we ate... Totally not worth it. At all. read more

Pretty darn good brew-pub in the Old Market area, though I prefer the one in West Omaha. Big seating area with a bar on both floors, pool tables on the second floor and a rooftop patio area for those days when it's not scorching hot or freezing cold. That's what the beer is for right? Now this is not your homey little neighborhood micro-brew, although the scale of the operation is far from fully commercialized. It lacks the certain grassroots feel of other places in the area... until you meet the guys who brew the beer. They know their stuff and love what they do, so go over to the bar and talk one up if you get the chance. The food is above average, but not fantastic. I will say that the meatloaf is one of maybe three I've had in my life at a restaurant that I really enjoyed. I've had the hamburgers a few times, which were good, but they still lack the option for sweet potato fries. What year is it?! One of the few brew-pubs lacking that option. read more

Not the first choice on list of places to try. Partially based on reviews but also because there are many better. Much better. This place is huge. Ok. So staff it to accommodate all the patrons. We always sit at the bar. Why? Because we want the interaction with the bartender. At this bar? Worse than little attention. Try none. Ordered a flight to give all the beers their equal shot. By the 3rd taster we noticed beer all over the bar because one of the glasses was cracked. Asked for another beer. Got another beer. But no apology for serving a broken glass. And no further check on how we are enjoying our beers. The guy next to us is still waiting for anyone to greet him and take an order. If you sell beer. Talk about your beers. Talk to you guests about the beer. At the very least provide some damn service. Beer is expensive. At this standard, I'd just as soon stay home and drink beer from my fridge. Fail Upstream. None of the beers are worth drinking again. read more

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years. Tonight was the first time I was treated as a nuisance rather than their reason for being. We asked to be seated and the hostess asked how many. I replied"2". She must not have heard me because she sternly replied how many and a look of incredulity was on her face. After she seated us, she threw menus at us and literally slid silverware at us as she ran past. Her countenance told the story. She was not happy to serve us and for this reason we made our feelings known to the manager and left. We do not eat their regularly but we have been customers dozebs of times over the past 10 years. With so many options I am not sure how often I will return. read more

I bookmarked this place On yelp before our trip, so when my sil recommended it we were excited to try it. Server was ok considering we were a decent sized group (5 adults/4 small children) it wasn't very busy in the restaurant. The kids all had their delicious creamy mac n cheese. The option for veggies was a great addition. My husband has the fish and chips (As I'm allergic I didn't try it) he seemed to line it though. I got the Ruben which was delicious. The meat was salty and the sauce added a creamy sweetness. The bread toasted perfectly. I had it with the cucumber salad which was perfect. Not too sour! Although at the end of the meal I think our server forgot about us. We had ordered root beer for dessert, it never came. Even after my sil/bil ordered a growler of root beer to take home. Despite the server the goofs was very foods and highly recommended. read more
