Upstream is a large restaurant and brewery on a corner in the Old Market. We had dinner there late on Friday night. We sat outside on the patio and really enjoyed the lights strung through the trees. Here's my summary: Atmosphere: 4 stars Service: 3 stars Beer: 3 stars Food: Jambalaya 4 stars.....AND..... Chicken and bucatini pasta 3.5 stars Overall Value: 4 stars read more

Best service ever. I was having one of those days and Jill, the bartender, brightened it up. She was super personable, got my order in right away. The service, food, and drinks were on point. I ate my appetizer, the artichoke dip, before I remembered to take a pictures. It was amazing. I will definitely return. read more

Great atmosphere and fast service in the bar. I ordered the schnitzel- the presentation was IMPRESSIVE but I wasn't as impressed with the taste. Thicker slices of pork for the schnitzel would improve the tastebud experience! Would recommend to friends and family for a variety of occasions. read more

Service is terrible, Manager is disrespectful, food takes forever to arrive. Would not recommend coming here if you plan on having an enjoyable experience read more

First of all, I was surprised to find a brewery in Omaha, I had no idea (I was traveling from Boston to LA). My girlfriend really enjoys a well-made local beer and I a well-made, handmade veggie burger, so we had to stop in. My girlfriend ordered their red beer, which was good but nothing extraordinary. I ordered their own root beer and it was the best I'd ever had (I'm not normally a soda drinker). My girlfriend had the roast beef sandwich with fries. It was decent but again, nothing out-of-this-world. I ordered the salmon burger with a greek salad. The burger was alright but a little dry and the salad was good but pretty oily. The space is huge and it's nice that you can get some very local brews in the Midwest, but I really feel like this place could step up the quality of its food. Service was a bit slow and we were there during what seemed like a quiet time. I think the next time I'm in Omaha, I'll probably try somewhere else. read more

I like the decor, the service, and the menu. The fact that I miraculously was able to find street parking nearby on a Friday night also made me like its location. Had I been dining with friends, I would have ordered burger and fries, because the setting definitely called for that. The beer-braised pot roast served with potato and vegetables sounded appetizing, but the best part of the dish turned out to be the slice of bread and the potato. The sauce was good but the pot roast was at most lukewarm. It was also overcooked. I casually looked through the reviews on yelp and it seems to me that pot roast at Upstream is generally good, but there's an inconsistency. Hmmmm. read more

Great pool even though the felt was a bit rough. Great beer (with no reservations in this category). The service was fine and the food was too. If I lived in Omaha or return any time soon, I'll make a point of stopping in again. read more

At the verge of sounding like a food snob from the West I reluctantly give a low rating. The decor of the place was very nice, a relaxed setting in the heart of the Old Market district. The beer was the best part of the meal... I ordered the Firehouse Red Lager 5.0% ABV and it was good! As for the food, the first red flag... "Our menu rotates out all of the time so I don't have a favorite" I settled in for a chef's favorite Honey Chipotle BBQ Bacon burger.... I ordered medium with Pepperjack cheese. The burger came out well done and I mean well done (char marks on the edges that were burnt). The "fresh baked" bun was dry and very dense ( I ended up eating what I could protein style). I am sure they have some wonderful items on the menu, but for this "food dork" I will only come back for the beer! read more

Went here a few days ago, for starter I got the Gouda and beer "soup". I put soup in quotation marks because it's basically cheese sauce. Don't get me wrong it was pretty good but it's was really thick. But it did deliver on my expectations if you were to mix cheese and beer. For my entree I got the blackened salmon salad which I was really impressed with in that the salmon was moist and not overcooked. The service was pretty slow and inconsistent but I think it was just maybe our waitress was new or inexperienced. All in all I would go again for a quick bite and if I was already in the area and close by to the restaurant. read more

Went for dinner and had a great experience. The craft beers kind of outshine the food, but the food was pretty good too. The staff was great, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. If you're looking for a good dinner spot before venturing out into the Old Market, it's a great option for your first stop. read more

We had our son and daughter in law's rehearsal dinner here last Friday night and Upstream did an AMAZING job! We had a small private room on the second floor with a pool table for our use, the perfect space for our party of 25. Maria, the event coordinator was wonderful in the weeks leading up to the rehearsal, with suggestions for the menu, drinks, ect and when we all showed 30 min early, she did not even blink! She had her team get the room ready and it looked so welcoming. The service was awesome and attentive, the manager came and introduced himself right away and the two servers were friendly and on top of the job. Maria even checked in on us before leaving for the night. Thank you Upstream for making the start to an amazing weekend so great. I highly recommend having your event here. Make sure to get the warm artichoke dip and ravioli! read more

Amazing food. The falafel sandwich was delicious and the service incredibly friendly. I'll be back.

We really enjoyed the outdoor dining. The artichoke dip was delicious. Service was excellent. read more

Our shuttle driver, Chad, recommended this place to us. He said it was one of his favorite places and I can see why. Great food...great service....and very friendly wait staff! Our waitress was very helpful in offering up choices for my plant based palette. She recommended the Falafel and I was very pleased and happy with the selection. We also had three great beers from the wonderful selection that they had to offer. Definitely give this place a try! read more

Needed a growler to watch Thursday Night Football at the hotel. Walked to Upstream. Had a flight of beers plus a couple samples of specialty beers. All very good. Ordered a growler of their Scotch Ale to go. Also ordered a steak dinner, they serve Omaha Steaks. Had a 12oz Filet Mignon medium rare. It was good and tender. Came with mashed potatoes and green beans with prosciutto on top. Bartender was personable and friendly. read more

Upstream Brewery was an awesome place. Had a great atmosphere and I recommend sitting upstairs and outside on deck. The shrimp pizza was amazing! Our server was a little slow and I asked three times for water. However, it was a very awesome place. read more

I was in Omaha for the weekend and looking for a descent place to eat. Upstream was exactly that. The service was good. We sat on the patio which was nice and shaded. The honey mustard grilled chicken sandwich was standard, but good. I thought the chicken breast could have been a bit bigger. It reminded me of fast food size. The mac and cheese was very well done. I love mac and cheese, and this is something to try. This was my first trip to Omaha. It seemed like there were so many cars downtown, but no one out and about. read more

The food was very good and beer was very good. The bar tenders seem to be all about them selves! We sat at the bar on Friday and Saturday evening to watch some games. And no joke we sat at the bar for bout 20 mins before anyone cared to ask us what we wanted to drink. It wasnt that busy but with 4 guys back there standing around picking there noises. read more

I went to this place late on a Monday night while in town for business. Kinda stumbled upon it while walking around the Old Market area of Omaha. it was a real hit, I am glad I stopped in. Though I didn't eat, I had two of their own brews--the Firehouse Red and the IPA. Both were good, priced fine at $4.75/pint. There's a cool vibe, lots of exposed brick, brewery tours and merchandise available to. read more

Steak was excellently prepared! management and staff were very attentive and responsive to needs. Will make this a regular stop on my next business trip to Omaha. read more

The beer and food seemed par for the course with other larger scale brew pubs. Unfortunately nothing stood out as exceptional, and fortunately nothing stood out as terrible. If I'm in the area I'll visit again, if nothing else for the expected consistency of the visit and to try the seasonal brew offered at the time. read more

Every time I come to Omaha this is my go to spot for beer and food in the evenings. The bartenders have a fair amount of knowledge about the beers but there is one that works behind the bar that could use a bit more enthusiasm about craft beers. I finally got around to ordering a proper dinner from Upstream and it filled all my desires. Ordered the pot roast and it was superbly delicious. The meat was juicy and tender and the dish came with ample amount of gravy. This was the first time I at at a restaurant and never touched the salt or pepper shaker. The seasoning and flavor was spot on. The beers on tap, although not a large selection, are a well balanced selection to please any palette. I am glad to recommend this brewery to anyone and everyone as I know it will not disappoint. read more

I have to say thanks to all the awesome Omaha yelpers! You guys have helped me find some great places while I've been here. We went to Upstream last night for a late dinner and a couple drinks. It was very good. I ordered the side Cesar salad and the Shrimp Linguine "BLT". My fiance ordered the spicy chicken wings (yes they are!) and I think the Italian pizza. The food was excellent and the service was great. I think it would have been a better idea to sit on the roof/patio to watch the fireworks with dinner! This is a really great place to eat! read more

On a Friday night about 7pm, this place overflowed with people. Burger turned out to be ok, but the pot roast I wished I'd ordered. 12 beer sampler is a nice overview of their beers, and most were pretty good. Porter is a standout. read more

I'd tried Upstream beer at another bar (Crescent Moon) earlier, and since it was my favorite, I wanted to go to the source. The atmosphere was great when I came both times. I had beers on the patio once, and beer and food indoors once. The food (both for me and my friend) was on the good side of average, but the beers were all very impressive. Sadly, they ran out of ChupaHopa (a beer we tried at Crescent and the best of the bunch), but they also make a solid IPA, red lager, Scotch-style ale, and pale ale. My friend and I also tried and enjoyed some of their "whim" choices - he particularly liked the Manhattan-inspired beer. Definitely worth a stop if you want to try a good local brew. read more

We opted for an outside seat. The weather was very comfortable and the environment friendly. My wife started with a strawberries and cream beer. She was very pleased. Next we shared Mojo Chicken Quesadilla. It had a very interesting taste. The chipotle salsa was very tasty and a nice complement. I also ordered a cup of Gouda and Beer soup. For entrees my wife ordered a burger and I ordered the Strip Steak. The soup was fantastic, it had a thick creamy texture it was mixed such the Gouda was not overpowering. My wife was very happy with her burger. As for my steak, it came with an arugula salad, not a big fan of arugula but it had a tasty dressing that made it enjoyable. My steak was cooked to perfection and the Pom frites were also well prepared. Service was a little slow but overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience. read more

Perfect place if you want to relax and try some good food and great beer. I recommend trying the beer sampler, it's 12 2oz samplers and if you are a newby like me you really get to try different flavors and choose which you prefer. My cousin choose the lighter brews while I went for a darker lager- who knew! I will totally go back next time I'm in town. read more

Upstream Brewing - Sweet upstairs patio! - Bars Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I am sad to say that this place we will never return to. The service was amazing and that, that is the ONLY reason they are receiving 3 stars. Start out with drinks. Great Beers and wines many choices, home brewed. Appetizers the Fried pickles were actually delicious. Asiago Artichoke dip was just ok, not a lot of flavor, but a nice portion. Then that is where it stops being good! We had seven people with 4 different dishes. Pork loin with risotto was nice portions, but it had no real flavor. Ribeye steak with blue cheese mashed potatoes and bacon green beans. The steak was not seasoned and they dumped a sauce over the top. The green beans were inconsistent some where country some were cooked perfect. The mashed potatoes were very good! Flat steak with red wine Demi glaze, garlic kale and cauliflower, potato gratin um it was a very small portion, NO flavor, the cheese was hard like it had been sitting for awhile and it was large slices of potato for such a small dish it came in. The kale was surprisingly good. My steak... Oh it gets NO stars. Very tough almost like beef jerky. I asked for Medium and Recieved medium rare. There are many, many restaurants to choose from don't choose this one! read more

This place is really popular in Omaha...and now I know why. The ambience coupled with beer veriety and a truely eclectic but delicious menu makes this a must visit if you are in Omaha. I loved the smoked Gouda cheese soup! My Italian shrimp dinner was also delicious and a combination of ingredients I had never experienced but thoroughly enjoyed. I will return for more! read more

Great service and good beer. Got the grilled chicken sandwich. Too many onions on salad.

EXCELLENT beers, Reuben was fantastic. Great outdoor seating area in a great old shopping district. Service was quick and courteous.
