We used to come here very frequently but since the update occurred it's not the same anymore. Last time we ordered a pizza to go there was so much oil on the top of it that it leaked through the box onto the car seat. That never happened before and we have always ordered the same toppings, pepperoni, basil and bacon. Based on several visits I give Upper Crust 4.5 stars on food This goes for their spaghetti (YUM), pizza, garlic bread, and manicotti. 4 stars on the veggie calzone, although it did seem healthy. Inside dining area is super clean and great for kids. As far as aesthetics, it could of been done better. They just remodeled. Every staff member is friendly and professional. It doesn't get much better than Upper Crust Pizza... The pizza (it's all about the pizza) is fantastic. As many other reviewers have said, they really pack on the toppings; fresh, vibrant veggies, faintly sweet and creamy mozzarella cheese, perfectly baked, crispy crusts (you can also get wheat crust if you like) and light, yet hearty meats. They also make a mean pasta salad, hot baked sandwiches, calzones, excellent cheese bread, decent, homespun takes on spaghetti and lasagna... you can also include a desert (providing you have the gut space left). They have a small selection of draft beer along with a couple of specialty ales, both of which perfectly compliment their delicious pies and of course they have soft drinks for the kiddies! The absolute best part of Upper Crust Pizza is Tim (I call him Timmy, but don't tell him that), the co-owner, and the friendly staff that will recognize and great regular customers and non-regular customers alike. They absolutely make this place as enjoyable as it is. The dine-in experience is comfortable with several different seating configurations scattered throughout the dining room. They also have a small arcade towards the back of the establishment. In addition, they offer free WiFI; just be sure to ask for the passkey when you place your order. I've been going to UCP for several years now and always enjoy the time I spend there. They just recently remodeled, which hadn't been done in probably 20 years, the place looks amazing. Very well done and classy, but still keeps the hometown feel. We love this place, as the pizza always tastes fresh, and the garlic bread pizza is a can't miss. Salad is nice and fresh too and it's a nice neighborhood feeling when we eat here. The one thing about the pizza is that the toppings will fall off easily, as the cheese for the most part sits beneath, but I don't mind that as the toppings are of good enough quality to pick and eat seperately. Calzone is formed almost like a bread bowl and is really good! Only thing that could improve is that the arcade machines are somewhat beaten down. The other issue was fixed a few years ago when they put tvs in to keep the eyes busy while eating this great food. read more

The staff was friendly,and the prices were GREAT. I got a medium pizza and a half/half pasta and green salad for $16, which I thought was very reasonable. The atmosphere isn't too good -- kind of generic, but I'd rather have good food at a good price than pay for ambience. We've been coming to Upper Crust for YEARS and it's finally time to write a review for it. I went for lunch. The place was near empty around 4pm with only a few booths filled. We ordered a Half-and-Half Salad, which was a pasta salad (olives, carrots, and the pasta in a olive oil dressing) with a House Salad (Simple greens with Balsamic Vinaigrette on the side.) I know it's a small detail, but i love the fact that the dressing is on the side because sometimes the salad becomes soggy before you get it OR they don't give you enough dressing. The pasta salad was really good. It was simple but it really had me wanting more. Greens were crisp, so no problems there. Also ordered a Medium-Sized Special (Pepperoni, Sausage, Cheese, Bell Peppers, Mushrooms, Tomato). I ordered it extra crispy BTW, because I like the pizza to stand on its own when you hold it up, that way the toppings don't roll off. The pizza was on point. They definitely load up the toppings and compared to most places, they don't taste like they came from a can. Overall I ate 5 slices out of the 8. It says it feeds 3 people, but that's kind of weird because one person is going to only get 2 slices while the others get 3. Overall experience was good. Total bill was a little under $20 bucks. Didn't leave a tip because nobody came out to check on us. read more

I come to this Upper Crust quite frequently. I am a sucker for their hot stuffed sandwiches. I usually get turkey. I also really like their anti-pasta salad, but if you're not a fan of onions I would recommend ordering it without. I have had their pizza one time and it was of course delicious. It was baked to perfection. I haven't ever been to another Upper Crust Pizza but this location has a ton of seating and tv's to watch the football games. But for the most part I almost always call in my order. If you do dine in after dinner you can walk across the parking lot to Golden Spoon for a great dessert : ). Been coming here a long time, but realized today (08/31/2016) that I should write a review because everyone was just SO nice today! I wish I would have grabbed the names of the three guys that helped me out while I was picking up my phone order for lunch, they were just awesome! Their food is also delicious! I love their crust on their pizza, perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. They do put a lot of cheese on their pizza, which most everyone loves, I'm not a huge fan of cheese so I might ask for less cheese, but that is the only thing i would change, and that is just personal preference. Ate here last week with my wife, son and his roommate. This place has been around for a long time, as I recall eating here a couple times, 15 years ago or so. The pizza was good, but nothing special overall. I recalled I liked it then and I liked it now. They had a couple beers on tap that my son said are hard to find. I have been coming here for several years. There's a reason why I continue to do so. I love, love, love their pizza. The dough tastes fresh, the sauce is sweet and tasty, and the toppings are delicious. They have great lunch and dinner specials that are very reasonable. I've had their salads, spaghetti, and lasagna and they are all great!! I still need to try their calzones, but someday. I'm just hooked on their pizzas! The staff are very friendly and attentive and the owner is a good dude that's busting his hump like the rest of them and is very friendly. Essential Oceanside pizza. Kindest staff I've met in a while. Place is clean and the seats are surprisingly comfortable and open. They completed our order lightning fast and perfectly, even though it was practically closing time. They even accommodated for a vegetarian diet by making a custom off-menu item free of charge when there was a misunderstanding :) Danielle was a rockstar! The dish: Pizza Pesto. Half Spinach and Garlic, half Bell Pepper and Red Onion. The spinach was baked until really tender, and the garlic infused really well with it. 10/10 job on the toppings there. The bell pepper got a little chewy when it was cold but that's nobody's bad but mine :P Crust was better than a lot of other places. Fluffy but crispy on the outside, no unpleasant "cardboard effect" when it cools off. Impressed. Really good with ranch (as I am learning as I type). Overall 9/5/10, maybe wish the bell pepper could be sliced a bit thicker but otherwise the food completely above reproach. My mom said the salad was perfect, but she probably won't get mushrooms next time. The whole experience gets 10/10. My mom and I will remember this place and I intend to bring future colleagues here. read more

Staff willing make their customers satisfied. My order was mistakenly placed on a shelf for phone order pick ups as I was waiting in the restaurant. I waited 35 minutes before I inquired about my order. Without hesitation the young man who found my order stayed he was giving me a full refund and apologized for the mix up. 2 mediums pizzas and a antipasti salad were free for my family and I that night. The pizza was great, the dough was flavorful and tasted homemade, and there was plenty of sauce on it (my favorite) overall we really were impressed with the pizza. Then there is the salad... it was really good, fresh tasting mozzarella and loved the large carrots. But the best part has to be the ranch.
