First. The beer was good. Drank a lot and each pint was delish. Their Russian Imperial was a great finish. Inside was quaint & decent decor, quiet vibe. Not sure which was the worst ~ service or food. Lady beertender was not friendly, short in interaction, not happy to serve. She needs retraining or let go. Food was not good at all. Actually needed to send back a dish, which made the apathetic server that much more unfriendly. Very disappointing experience for a supposedly recognized brewery.

Fun place . Great beer and food along with a cool vibe . We sat outside on the patio but inside there's all kinds of options. Pool and pinball machines inside and a full bar to sit at . We were not terribly hungry, just went for the beer , but couldn't resist the pretzel which comes with a sauce with a naughty kick . Really good but the beer was the main attraction! In addition ---great service . Don't forget to get your parking validated.

UPP Liquids - Weekday Lunch Review This is a review of UPP Liquids, in the space that formerly housed Immersion Brewing. This visit was for a weekday lunch, and this review is based only on the food experience. The staff was very friendly, professional, and polite. The space was clean but also very sparse. Aside from the pinball machines, it has an empty feel and there is little done to give the décor any specific ambiance. They offer table service and the staff was quick to take the order. The food arrived in the right amount of time, there were check-ins to make sure all was well, and the wrap-up was well timed. I ordered the Fish and Chips. The fish portion was relatively small. The fish was tasty with a nice crunch and the breading held nicely. The fries were good but nothing special. Overall it was an average meal. If not for the price tag, that would have been fine. It was filling, but at twenty-two dollars I expected more in both quantity and quality. My friend ordered the Southwest Salad. What I noticed was a lot of greens, and for eighteen dollars I would have expected more than that. Luckily my friend picked up the tab. Thanks Julie. There was nothing in particular that stood out about UPP as a lunch destination. The friendly staff was the most positive aspect. Convenience might be the only reason I would return, though there are several options close by.

No wait for a table but pretty long wait to have order taken. We were told they were short staffed, which is understandable. Server was super nice. We were there for burger week. We wanted pics of our burgers so I picked it up and juice shot out of it all over me and the table and chair... which is fine, but then we discovered we were never given napkins! Not only did we not get them, but we couldn't find them anywhere either. Due to the short staffing issue, the person we found was too busy to help us. When someone finally did come, we got one napkin per person. Which is crazy when you know your burger is that juicy. Every bite I had to wipe my face again and I used every square inch of that napkin and left feeling sticky and dirty. I know napkins cost money but there's got to be a better way. The burger was good though. The meat was cooked and seasoned well. I liked the balsamic grilled onions and Gouda was a good choice for the cheese.

Trying out UPP Liquid's Oatmeal Stout known as Pinball Wizard!

As I write this review I see that it is coming up as an updated review as opposed to a new one. Back in 2017 for this entry this review was for Immersion Brewing but now my update is for UPP Liquids. I am not sure if it was a name change this brewery went through or but I suspect so. Because if this was a brand new brewery I imagine it would have it's own Yelp entry. But who can say for sure... maybe it was transitional activity that reached to what my review currently pertains to which is UPP Liquids. This is still a brewery and it's a good one. So I am bumping up a star here as I really enjoyed the beer I had by UPP Liquids. The name of the beer was called Pinball Wizard which is an Oatmeal Stout. I do like these kinds of stouts very much as I like the oatmeal that is at play here and what it contributes to the flavor profile. For Pinball izard flavor features in this beer is roastiness, maltiness, a hint of smokiness and a coffee flavor. This hit the spot in every way and it was a joy to drink. Even though these beers are great to have on cold, rainy day the day we had it was a bit more pleasant and still. But despite that it didn't ruin the atmosphere as to when to have this beer at all. It was such an enjoyable beer I rated it quite highly on Untappd which is my beer rater app for each individual beer that I try. So yes, trying out UPP for the first time was quite a positive impression.

Nachos with pulled pork

We were in Bend for work and decided to stop in on a Sunday night. UPP's staff was wonderful (even though they mentioned being short handed). We enjoyed a few yummy beers and tried out the starters on the menu. Pretzel, wings, and nachos with pulled pork. All were very tasty and we would come again.

The service was on point and the beers were all really good. It's nice that they can do subtle beers with differing tastes versus over hopping everything or pumping out a bunch of muted stuff. The imp Stout would be really really good if they did a barrel aged version. We didnt try the food though as it didn't strike our fancy at the time. The space is nice with good amount of seating and some pinball in the back.

The waitress recommended the pulled pork so we got it on nachos and as a sandwich. Great beer selection (we enjoyed Flower Child and the Mexican lager). Good weekend stop and right next to Gear Fix to fuel up before shopping.

The food arrived promptly, perfectly hot, and smelled absolutely divine. Our server was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful, with lots of playful artwork adorning the walls. My family really enjoyed their pizza and salad. Only recommendation is to order salad dressing on the side. My poke was fresh, perfectly seasoned, with the best seaweed salad I have ever had. Overall a great experience!

This place is so good. The beer is good. The wings are fantastic!! I highly recommend ordering the wings extra crispy. All of the sauces are delicious. Service was wonderful and made the experience all the better.

It is hard to find parking in that area. We went over the weekend and even after showing up a little later (1:30) the wait was 45 minutes for an outdoor table for 4. After waiting 55 mins and seeing more than 5 picnic tables outside vacant we went up to the hostess stand and she couldn't even tell us where we were at in the list (we had given our phone number when we put our name in). Then as they are trying to figure out how much longer we have to wait they continue to seat people who are just walking up outside. We finally get seated after an hour and then we have to wait another 10+ minutes to get kid menus (we had 2 kids in our party). Our waitress was friendly and got our drinks in right away. We ordered a pretzel for the table and the cheese dip was really tasty. One of our kids got a kid's cheeseburger and fries which were good. The other got a kid's grilled cheese which was on the smaller side with fries. We did a beer sampler which was a good way to check out several options. Overall rating would be 3.5 rating.

Bad news. Good news…read more Bad news first is this: The Drake has been sold to new owners and TONIGHT, APRIL 12, WILL BE THE LAST DAY OF SERVICE at The Drake with the original owner and the current menu. So if you're hankering for the mac n cheese or shrimp n grits or veg burger or any of the menu items, after today they are history. I started eating at The Drake in their first week of business and had many, many, many meals there over the years but things change and so, it seems, has the popularity of The Drake. Now the good news. The new owners are a trio and one of them is also one of the owners of the inestimable Ken's Artisan Pizza in Portland that opened its' Bend location last year. (Go! Even if you have to stand in line for 45 minutes like I did.) The first news of this ownership change was that they would keep the name and current focus of The Drake. But local television news reports that after The Drake closes today it will be reimagined with a new name and design and menu. The opening for the new place is currently said to be Memorial Day weekend. I don't live in Bend anymore but there is still a family home there and so I visit on occasion and knowing a "Ken's" owner is involved in the new enterprise may make me brave the wicked-bad downtown parking to try this new place. In the meantime, I remember how fun and delicious it could be to eat at The Drake.

It's packed with so many clams and potatoes! Great depth of flavor. Perfectly creamy. It was just the cup of soup I needed on a cold day. 9/10 The PNW elk burger was not my favorite item I've ever had. Not pictured is a Marion Berry jam under the patty, and that jam was very very saucy, it ran all over the plate and soaked through the bottom bun too much to the point where the bun became mushy and fell apartment. It was too overwhelmingly sweet, I couldn't even really taste the elk. I think if it had everything else minus that jam, it could be a very successful dish. Their food is still really good, just this dish was not it for me. The restaurant is casual, and they have a bar section as well. They've got breakfast all day and they've got a great selection of beers and drinks. I would definitely come back here!! It really feels so welcoming there. It's one of those places you could really enjoy having a few friends get together.
