It's a small spot in an easy-to-find industrial area. Cozy lighting and colorful artwork makes the high ceiling warehouse vibe comfortable and welcoming. I also love the National Park inspired logo. On arrival the bartender remembered me from another event the year prior, which made the visit instantly welcoming and pleasant. The beer styles and descriptions were no-nonsense and everything we tried was excellent. It was a popular spot even on a snowy weekday. If you're doing the Bend Ale Trail, this is a newer stop added, there are others nearby too. I look forward to seeing this one grow, and already looking forward to visiting again soon.

The most recent experience was on a Monday around 2:00 PM; I walk in and sit at the bar, the brewery is somewhat busy but nothing crazy at all. The bartender walks by me 4-5 times, looks at me multiple times, and never once says hello, offers a menu or anything of the sort. The last couple of times I just got up and left after 15ish minutes of nothing, but this time one of the servers (super nice btw) noticed and helped me out. I was about 2 minutes from leaving again. Overall the food is pretty good at 10 Barrel, and the Sinistor is one of my favorite beers, but this experience has made coming to this location extremely off putting. I would probably frequent the place much more often if that didn't happen consistently. Just had to share.. maybe my experience is a unique one but it has been off putting enough to mention.

So on our last trip to Bend we finally made it here to the their taproom and it didn't disappoint at all. It was a great stop! We got a taster set of a variety of different beers that they had on tap and they were all quite good. Many of them have a wild ale aspect to them which I can appreciate at you don't come across this beer too much on a routine basis. The taproom is cool and I love all of their art specifically where fermentation liquids spilled onto a sheet or a cloth making various designs and hues during the brewing making process of their beers. Other excellent beers that we have had from this brewery are the Samalie which is a Wild Ale. This one I rated very highly on Untappd because it was so amazing! Things to look for in the flavor profile are sourness, tartness, fruitiness, a natural sweetness and a dry finish. Really an excellent beer! Moving on from that we had the great Ping Pong Table Beer. This was another beer I rated quite highly and enjoyed immensely. This beer is light bodies, smooth and effervescent with the flavor of elderflower at work. Another excellent beer! Definitely great beer experiences with this brewery and definitely recommend it to the more adventurous beer drinking folks. There are plenty of breweries to try out in Bend and if you are looking for something on the more unusual side The Ale Apothecary is a great place for such a thing!

Serves food and also may have a food truck open. Our last visit we enjoyed the bowl of chili and Caesar salad was all A-OK. The staff was helpful even when busy. Interesting to note, it's like all the beer drinker mt bike folks that used to all come here years ago just happened to grow up and have kids at once, so now it definitely has a very kids playground scene, but I still think it's cool here. (Just go inside to avoid the mayhem. lol!) It's sweet that they create a fun environment outside there. A suggestion maybe would be create a small section outside. that's a no kid table for sunshine and drinking too. ;) it looks like they're making good use of their space. I spent a week in Bend and there are SO many great places to relax and have an awesome beer, this place is definitely one of the best around! I have been doing "beertender's choice" flights almost everywhere I went this week but here, I just stuck to what I like. I got 3 West coast IPAs and one imperial. They understand this style and knock it out of the (their own) park! Today the "Grade A" did it for me and the 1/2 hitch was an excellent stronger option. It will be a while before I return (500 miles from home) but if you live in, or are traveling through the area, definitely give'em a try!
