In an area of Oregon known for beer, the town of Redmond doesn't have as much going on. Wild Ride Brewing was a standout and worth visiting especially if you're just passing through on the way to Bend. Wild Ride is right in downtown, a quick drive from hotels in the area. It's a large brewery with many tables, bar seating, and tons of outdoor seating. At the time of year I visited it was still really cold, but they have fire pits and warmers making it cozy for any area. The indoor area is cement floors, big open windows, and garage doors that can be open or kept closed depending on the weather. I came here a few times during my stay due to the fantastic experience on my first visit. Flights are $10 for 4 tasters, the glasses are large and uniquely served in old skis. Their taplist is long, filled with mainstays and limited releases (look for the additional board for those as new things drop all the time). Beer is priced cheaply for the quality - you can easily enjoy a long evening here without a huge tab. They offer cans and bottles to go; merchandise is also reasonably priced. For food, they have a selection of multiple food trucks outside; it's a great place for those families/groups that can't decide on a single restaurant. You can get full meals or mix and match appetizers from different trucks. Availability and hours vary for each. Simply order and pay, they give you a number and find you outside or inside. The staff here was wonderful on each experience - friendly, fast to serve, and happy to be there. Restrooms are clean and in a separate area near the bar but inside the brewery area. read more

I always have a good time when I go to Wild Ride! Wild Ride was the first brewery/food truck lot in Redmond and it continues to thrive even with additional brewery/food lots opening up around town. Wild Ride has both indoor and outdoor seating (there are fire pits outside for those chilly Oregon nights) and there is even a little fake grass patch area where I have seen kids playing and dogs chilling. There is plenty of seating for large groups. Food wise - when I was there, there were four food trucks running with a great selection of food. Beer wise - I got the flight (a Taste-ski). I love Reds and Browns and it is hard to find those where I live now (las vegas) so I was very happy that both of those were offered. Family friendly wise - kids were welcome at this establishment and mine were entertained the whole time by the plethora of games that are along the wall. The fire pits are very inviting. We take turns exploring the food trucks and decide what to eat. While our food is being prepared, one or more of us go into the brewery to get drinks. The people behind the bar are top notch. They really know their beers and are wonderful at helping a person to select just the right beer for right now. First a confession: Wild Ride Brewing is one of my favorite, but I didn't click when we went there a couple of weeks ago. However, I did buy some of their hefeweizen beer, and I only noticed their emblem on the cans when I got home. So much for being a loyal customer... I would have bought way more... I love loved the setup they had outside. The tables were spread apart. You order food outside from the few carts they are in the parking lot, so you hardly have to go inside. In addition, all the roll up doors were open, so even when you went in there, they didn't have to worry, as the ventilation couldn't get any better. The bartenders and the waitresses were awesome. Parking was easy where you can either park on the street or their private parking lot. Next stop is Cheap Charlie to get some of Wild Ride Brewing beer! read more

Didn't eat the first time , but repeated the act again and ordered a spicy Hawaiian pizza on the second visit. Pizza had a very thin crust so wasn't too heavy, very tasty. It's a bummer they don't have very many, and some you can only buy bottled and can't drink them while you are there. Other than that, which isn't that big of deal, it has a lot to offer. This was a most pleasant surprise! We happened upon this after a wild morning ride at the pump track down the street ...appropriately so. Inside/outside seating, food truck O-plenty and damn fine beer. The place is sharp looking, has outside fires burning, places for kids to play, plenty of parking and the staff was all over the place making sure you were serviced and the place was clean. The food trucks were diverse and on point. We had something from three of them. They take your order and bring it to your table! That's a first for me. Pretty cool brewery. I have had their nut crusher previously, but nothing else. They have some great sounding ipas that were pretty good. Their sour and hef were really nice. We stopped in thinking they served food. They only serve brews and some wines and other drinks. They don't serve hard alcohol. They have a friendly staff that help to control the line. They were busy the whole time we were there. Drinks came out quickly. Kind of an industrial feeling to the place with nice outdoor seating. My husband and I live in Bend but after church every Sunday, we will drive up here for beer and lunch. I'm 22 and therefore, not a beer connoisseur. I did really enjoy the Ale I got and my husband enjoyed his. What we enjoyed most was how affordable it was, and how great the atmosphere was. Super family friendly but not overly crowded with folks. And oh my WORD the fish and chips from the food truck. I can't come up with a word in English that completely explains how good the fish and chips were. So I'll leave it there and you can go try them and figure out the proper verbiage. I think I would cry if that food truck ever closes down and I'm not joking.
