The choices are so numerous that it is almost overwhelming. I had a pastachio doughnut that was light and airy, doughnut, and perfect consistency. First and foremost, I LOVE the service here!! I wish I got the girl's name but she was so personable, kind, helpful, and honest, we appreciated our experience here that much more because of her. Ok, now onto the food and drinks here - I was intrigued by their "lattinis" (latte with a mini croissant bar on top of the drink to mimic a martini) and opted for the Blue Matcha Lattini. SO. GOOD. The blue matcha has, of course, matcha, as well as lavender, almond milk (which the barista recommended for this specifically), and a few other goodies. The drink was so creamy, and was just sweet enough where it was enjoyable and not overbearing. The croissants on top were super cute but, I guess since we were there at the end of the day, they were pretty hard to bite through. Stopped here for an afternoon pick me up with a friend, because we had heard about the new lattinis with these mini croissants on top. I ordered the Green Matcha, and to be honest, it was just okay. I have definitely had better matcha drinks elsewhere. The mini croissants also did not taste like croissants at all. The consistency was thick and reminded me of cream puffs (without the cream). My friend and I were looking for a quick bite and found this place through google maps and I'm happy we did. I ordered the Croissant Pudding along with the Lavender Matcha Latte. My friend had ordered the same drink as well as a Everything Croissant. The Croissant Pudding was really good, it wasn't too sweet and had a little dalliance of cream cheese on it which put a nice touch to the dessert. My friend really enjoyed her Everything Croissant, she said the cream cheese on the inside made it very flavorful. We both really enjoyed the drink as well! I saw a board outside that a breakfast sandwich and drip coffee combo is $9. Other than what's displayed, they also have a food menu. I noticed someone ordered an everything croissant with egg and salmon or prosciutto. It looked really good so I will definitely be going back for that. They have a large space. There are cozy seats and tables at the front. The back has plenty of tables and chairs. They even have a long bar table with high chairs against the wall opposite their open kitchen. They also placed a few tables and chairs on the sidewalk. Most importantly, they have one clean handicap assessable restroom. I've gotten a bunch of random things but never tried their signature bombos due to dietary restrictions but I have enjoyed their croissants and cookies. The best item, and a repeat purchase is the strawberry chocolate chip cookie. I had tried their kinder bueno whatchamacallit but it was my last favorite; something about the chunk of sweet turned me off and I sent it to the trash. The staff has been sweet, just like their pastries. There is ample seating for a small group of people, could seat 10 people maybe. The pastry held up incredibly well and remained beautifully fresh, soft, and delicious throughout the entire day. I shared the pastry with a friend, and both of us absolutely loved it! The sausage was way off--interesting but not in a good way. It was green with white beans and peas, and tasted as green as it looked. It was more of a garden burger and was good on its own, but did not fit in the breakfast sandwich. It made me wonder whether management had event taste tested the patty with the staff. Otherwise the sandwich was a hit! I think it would be about $11 without the "sausage". The blueberry rosemary donut was definitely interesting. One of my friends told me about Unregular Bakery and I knew I had to try it at my earliest opportunity. I was in the Union Square Park area and realized this was just a short walk away. On a Wednesday at around 1pm, the place was not too busy and had a handful of customers. As soon as I walked in, my eyes were immediately drawn to their beautiful pastry selection.... It almost felt criminal to imagine eating any of them. The girl behind the counter was incredibly nice and helpful. She walked us through all her favorites and shared additional comments about the pastries we had been eyeing. I was amazed at how many vegan selections they had which all looked very good! We ordered an americano and a cappuccino which were surprisingly really reasonably priced for the size! They also had so many non-dairy milk options, including pistachio milk (?!) which I had never seen before at a cafe. For sweets, I wanted to try a variety of things and ended up (after long debate) deciding on: - Croissant Pudding: this was delicious! Imagine a French toast+ bread pudding + croissant hybrid. The butteriness and rich layers of the croissant get compacted into this fluffy and moist soufflé-like baked good. The flavor is just a little sweet without being overpowering and reminded me a little bit of crème brûlée French toast, if you've ever had it. Very filling! Since this is not a traditional croissant and it's rather more of a pudding you do lose that crispy flakiness. However, their actual croissants look divine and flaky! I will definitely be trying them in the future and I'm sure you cannot go wrong if you order one. - Strawberry Chocolate Cookie: another hit! I'm a cookie fanatic and ordered this because of how aesthetic it looked. At baseline, I not a fan of strawberry flavored desserts. However, this cookie was divine! The dough felt perfectly moist and had just the right level of sweetness. The combination of the dark chocolate and tangy/sweet strawberry was delicious and reminded me a lot of Valentine's Day. In terms of quality, it definitely climbed up to the top of my NYC cookie list. They had a chocolate hazelnut flavor too which I'm sure is also delicious and I'm already planning on trying next time. - Pistachio and Orange Blossom Bomboloni: I know they are famous for their bomboloni and, even though I'm not a fan of donuts, decided to give them a try. I picked it this one since it didn't have any glaze or sugar sprinkled on top. Honestly, this is one of the best donuts I've had in my life. The dough itself was fluffy, light, and had a divine flavor that was just mildly sweet but mostly savory-- something I was able to appreciate since it had no glaze. The filling was with a delicate pistachio cream that added just the right level of sweetness and nuttiness to complement the dough. It also had little pearls of orange blossom which occasionally added a more citrus and bright punch. I highly recommend ordering this one if you want to have an appreciation for the dough flavor and just the insane quality that it has! Not masked by any sugar or glaze, just the most simple version of delicious :) Overall, I loved this place so much and I cannot wait to come back! They have a decent amount of seating that is relatively empty on weekday mornings, have a very cute/colorful ambiance, WiFi, and most importantly, delicious pastries. I chanced upon this new cute bakery, (from the owners of Unregular Pizza, another excellent joint nearby) that recently opened up and decided to try their $12 lunch special. You get a Scrappamon (Cinnamon Croissant Twist), a Bombolino Sandwich, and a Soda. Upon payment I was offered to join their digital rewards program, so I did that as I always do. (Money doesn't grow on trees! ) Everything inside looked delicious and I was able to verify once I returned to my desk. Such fresh and flavorful food, I was blown away! This is a really nice new bakery from Unregular Pizza. I sampled (fine, ate entirely) the Spritz Bomboloni and actually sampled the Espresso croissant. The Spritz Bomboloni has Aperol pearls and an orange pastry cream. It was great! I also really liked how when I tried to pull off the candied orange with Aperol pearls on the top, it remained stuck to the bomboloni. As I ate my way to the orange, the candied orange came together with the bomboloni and Aperol pearls so it was giving Aperol spritz. Very nice. The Espresso croissant was the sleeper hit though. It is filled with a chocolate espresso filling that is not too sweet and very, very good. I'm not sure if all the croissants are made like the bufala croissant but this felt like it captured an Italian flavor like no Italian pastry that I've tried in NYC. The croissants and bomboloni here are great! It felt like they stayed very true to pure Italian flavors and the quality of the baked goods was excellent.
