I must admit that my boyfriend has a good eye for finding unique bars. Location: The bar is located in the heart of Chattanooga. You can go there by car or public transportation. Parking:  It does not have its own parking lot. You can park on the street or any of the republic parking, but you have to pay. Service: We sat at the bar. The bartender was kind, nice, and fast considering that the bar was full. Drinks quality: It is a cocktail bar. I didn't see any food menu (only cheese boar, mac + cheese up, maruchen ramen cup, and ice cream), but the cocktail selection on the menu is great, perfect for those nights when you want a very nice cocktail. We got Donkey Kong - really good bourbon based cocktail similar to old-fashioned. Paper Plane is a bit sweet for a guy unless you like sweet drinks. We also got another drink but is not on the menu anymore. I think it's called yabadabadoo or something like that. Price: It may seem a bit expensive for some folks, but in my opinion the prices are acceptable. If you want good drinks, don't mind spending more than you would in a normal bar/sport bar. We spent on 3 cocktails $58.01 Atmosphere: I love when a bar or restaurant takes care of every detail. The atmosphere is relaxing, cozy, cool, and the music is on point. You can feel how the taste of the drinks matches with the concept and decorations of the bar. This is something that is not easy to achieve. They even decorate the bathroom. Good job! Recommendation: Park anywhere and explore downtown on the way to this bar. It's a good exercise and a great way to get to know Chattanooga. We usually prefer to visit bars in the early hours (around 7 - 8 pm) before they gets crowded. This way, we can better enjoy the experience without long wait time and noisy audience. If you're ever in the downtown area and want a good drink with a very dope atmosphere, definitely check this place out. The speakeasy previously known as London calling, has become one of my favorite spots for drinks and to enjoy a chill night out. The drinks were amazing and the service was top notch. All of the bartenders including the servers had masks on and there were sanitizing stations around. They also had QR codes for the drink and food menus. A little disappointed that you just walk right in as opposed to having the authentic speakeasy experience of trying to guess what the nightly password is. Speakeasies brought unusual cocktail concoctions into the mix during Prohibition. And flare to flavor! Unknown Caller, formerly known as the establishment London Calling, has a cool speakeasy-esque entrance of a London phone booth themed front door and then a second entry way that contains a pay phone to gain access into the actual space to hang out in. LOVE that! One of my oldest friends took me here for my birthday earlier in the month. After gaining entrance through figuring out the pay phone code answer to a pop culture related question, we found a couple cozy seats right away by the stage which is located directly above that entryway. We saw what seemed to be a lot of college students. We wanted to catch the bellydance show later in the evening so continued to hang out. The drink menu had some cheap beers and standard cocktail choices and the food menu consisted of hot dogs and some other standard American food I can't remember. We didn't think the cocktail choices sounded interesting enough to spend more so I got a whiskey and coke and she got PBR. Our waiter seemed to take awhile then brought out a shot of whiskey in a larger glass, a can of coke, and a can of PBR. Then we just hung out and laughed about some life updates shared until the belly dance show started. The belly dance show started with a couple dancers on the stage above for a bit then they danced through the bar. Not bad. This was my favorite cocktail bar during our Valaversary visit. The staff and atmosphere was amazing. We tried to go last night and there was a long wait of mostly a young crowd. I placed out. I don't generally wait in lines. But lines usually develop for a reason. So we planned to go back before the rush. Totally worth it. The drinks were fantastic. Excellent cheese board, but what made it for us was the staff. They knew their business and were able to give advice based on our preferences. No trip to Chattanooga would be complete without coming here. The space is beautiful and moody (in the best way) comfortably seating lines the walls and they have nice leather seats at the bar. The staff here is incredible! Extremely knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. Serving up awesome craft cocktails (get the Cacao Me Maybe) and some gourmet hot dogs. From a pricing standpoint the drinks aren't cheap but I definitely fairly priced, these are craft cocktails and they are freaking amazing. Varies from 12-15ish for drinks. They have paid street parking in the area but I've always ubered because...lots of cocktails lol. Came here this weekend on their second night and I was impressed! The service was on the slow side due to it being busy and their second night, but the server was super nice and would apologize if he had been awhile. I got the picador and clover club and was super impressed with both. The picador has chili powder on the side which really complements the sour/tartness of the margarita type drink. My lips were definitely tingling after. The clover club didn't sound too appetizing when perusing the menu but the table next to us recommended it and I am glad I decided to try it! As we joked "I could swim in that drink!" My friend had a dry martini and enjoyed it. The atmosphere and vibe is super cool! It was crowded, but not wall-to-wall which was nice. Not sure if that will always be their capacity but when we left they were waiting to let more people in through the telephone room first. I honestly appreciated that. This is definitely going to be one of my favorite cocktail places in town and a place where I take visitors to Chattanooga!! read more

This place should have 5 stars! A great speakeasy hidden in the heart of Chattanooga. We made reservations for the bar through Open Table (highly recommended) and was quickly seated. We sat down and was greeted by Chris, who is phenomenal. He is super attentive, making 3 drinks at once, talking to us, watching tables, and the door - I don't know how he did it!!! The vibe inside is chill, music is great, decor is where it's at. Their cocktail menu is ridiculous. All fresh ingredients and they only use legit liquors, you don't order a captain and Coke here that's for sure. I had the Mexican Remedy, which was Tequila, Mezcal, lemon, ginger, honey with candied ginger, super fresh and nice spice to it. I also had the Banoffee Pie (banana toffee), which as Chris described "its dessert" and it sure was. Chattanoogy whiskey, salted caramel, crema be banana - god I could drink these allll night. So delicious and well balanced. One of my favorite parts of this spot is their menu. The. Best. Drunk. Food!!! We had Mac and cheese with hot dogs (Kraft cup w chopped dog) and the pizza, which was a small personal. I wish we were staying longer because I would love to go through their entire cocktail menu. London Calling is, as far as I know, Chattanooga's first and only speakeasy. I appreciate that they do the concept right - it's not clear what the business is from the front, and you have to work a little to actually get in. In NY so many "speakeasy's" are not hidden, don't serve prohibition cocktails, don't have a vetting process for getting in - we've become over-saturated with establishments that don't even try so it's nice to see someone making the effort. British references abound - you can eat the Queen's face, for example! It's not overly done to the point of being kitschy. The space is artsy chic, with music I would describe as "chill groove" in the background, antique couches, and candlelight. Perfect for date night. Cocktails are cheap by NYC standards - $10-$13. Their menu is well thought out but doesn't take itself too seriously, with names like Wabbit Juice and Hulk Pea. They give a breakdown of each drinks characteristics to guide you: classic/adventurous, breezy/boozy, delicate/bold. I started with the Wabbit Juice (adventurous, boozy, bold - a dating profile description for my younger self!). Made with tequila and mezcal, but also carrot/ginger/lime juice and honey- you're detoxing as you retox. They are open late and have the properly bearded and suspender donning bartenders. Our server (we sat at a table) was lovely and extremely attentive. They haven't been open a year yet and I would love to see how they develop. Their drinks are very well balanced, and their photo booth is cool though I think it needs a little something to jazz it up- a different background, props, bright but ambient lighting instead of a bright flash. The place was jumpin' and was playing music that reminded me of college (2003-2007), which we loved. I had the frozen espresso martini and my husband had a beer. The martini was smooth and super tasty (don't eat the coffee beans, they were pretty tough). They provided a lot of water and the bar tenders kept constantly asking if we were good.
