Let me first start off by saying that i hired them on a short notice, contacted them yesterday and set it up for today! I had contacted with 10 moving companies here on yelp. We used Universal Moving Company a week ago and the movers that arriver were hard working professional movers! Everything was carefully wrapped and transferred without a single dent! Due to job opportunity I had to relocate on a short notice! I called at least 4 moving companies but they were way too expansive as it was a short notice. Universal Moving System was the only moving company with the reasonable prices. They did not change the prices because of the short notice. I had a sweet conversation with Mary (she was the sales) and she explained me how to prepare for the move day specially with such a short notice. The 3 men team that came all were professionals. They did a good job on packing and wrapping my furniture and fragile. Carlos made sure that everything was securely tight in the truck as well. The truck was 26ft which made a lot of things easier. They arrived to the destination before me:) when I arrived they had already started the unloading. They were working very efficient. Unloading was much faster. The best moving company out of all moving companies! They showed up a lil earlier than scheduled and were ready for the work! Our 4 bedroom house was loaded in the truck very fast and safe. We moved with Universal Moving Company on 08/15. We had Carlos's crew who did a good job! The price was very reasonable and no hidden fees! As they claimed while booking "ALL INCLUSIVE RATE" that's what we got and that's what it was. Carlos and his mover were just fantastic! They worked non stop! 3 bedroom house was handled by the movers perfectly! Even though we were on the 3rd floor with no elevator it did not slow them down as they were jogging while not carrying our boxes. Our movers were organized and pros! Hired this moving company for a local 4 bedroom move and gotta say that the service I received was TOP NOTCH! They moved everything so fast and safe that I couldn't ask for more! I booked on-line with them and the messaging back and forward was very easy and Mary answered all my questions in details even at late hour. He told me they have changed their relationship with the person who was disrespectful, and added training for their team regarding packing and care for the belongings of their clients. He returned the payment for the hour for which I was overcharged, and provided a modest amount for the breakage and loss, probably consistent with what would have been due under the contact's provision for loss and breakage, the cents per pound clause, but without my having to complete the paperwork for that. Out of all moving companies that I had used before Universal Moving System was the best! All my other moves the movers were trying to milk the time in order to get more money from me! Hell NO! that cannot happen to me! The movers from UMS were professional guys! Great, hard working crew of 3. Scheduling was very easy, Max gave me a great pricing. For 3 movers $110 is just great! No charges for packing materials or gas. He even waived the DDT (double drive time) as I was moving just 3 miles away. The movers were with common sense , they called prior the arrival. When came the main guy went over the contract with me, the other one was getting the tools out of the truck and the 3rd guy (who was short but very strong) had a look around inside the house. Universal Moving moved my entire family from Westwood to La Canada in a rapid mode. When I say rapid I mean it! They latterly moved everything in one breath! We were moving from 2 bedroom fully furnished apartment. As we had 6 month old beautiful daughter we couldn't do any packing or be prepared when the movers arrived but that was not a problem for the guys! So this is my story: Hired Universal Moving Company for a 1800sq/f office move. Office fully furnished, 3 computer desks with PCs obviously. We had 4 big and 3 small safes. To be short that was a fully equipped office. The office was being moved to Santa Monica from Sherman Oaks. The guy over the phone "I think Mark" quoted 5 movers. I felt confident with that. So the booking was easy. Now the actual moving: you know moving is not a pleasure and I will lie if I said oh we enjoyed the moving blah blah! No the moving process was stressful even though the guys worked hard. Nothing was broken or ruined, all arrived in one piece because of the professional packing and storing. I don't remember the name of all movers but one of the guys I do remember as he was updating me with everything regularly ( Andreh ). All 5 movers were great they worked non-stop. I had to force them to take a break. The move took 9 hours with just one trip as the truck was big. The job was done everyone happy and exhausted! Price: the total bill was calculated by Andreh as he was the head mover. I had done my calculations prior his. His calculations were $100 less than mine :))) (I don't wanna disclose the total bill, sorry:) ). To make the story short: this is a honest and professional moving company! Moving is stressful and a lot of work to do on your own as we have experienced the last 2 times we moved. Especially if you sold your current residence and have to be out by a certain time. In addition, my husband has a minor back problem and I didn't want to take the chance of him making it worse. So we decided to hire a moving company. We picked Universal based on their Yelp reviews and their all inclusive hourly rate was the most affordable. It was worth the money and would recommend hiring professional movers to everyone. We hired 3 movers (Diego, Luis and Eduardo) and a truck for a 2 bedroom, 1 bath condo moving from Huntington Beach to a house in La Palma. In between, we stopped at our storage unit to pick up all items there to close it out. It took about 7 hours including drive time. We had already packed a majority of our items (mainly the things we use remained) and the movers handled the rest. They worked very hard, efficiently, and fast. They didn't take their time or try to stall to extend the time. They were very professional, friendly, and super strong.
