Pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews but I couldn't pass up the lowest price around. I really lucked out with David and his crew (had fingers crossed that I didn't get Moshay). The quoted time to start was 9:30, the crew of four showed up around 9:20. As mentioned in other reviews, these guys went straight at it, no muss, no fuss. My house was fully loaded in around an hour. Preparation is key in a move if you want to save money. I bought mattress bags and industrial rolls of saran wrap to wrap all my furniture. I was fortunate of being able to use a mini-van to move my flat screen TV since I didn't want them to throw any misc. charges at me. The only thing I really wanted the movers to do was move boxes and move furniture. I didn't want them to wrap or pack a thing! I forgot to wrap my dressers so they used their moving blankets which were free of charge. The offload was also very efficient. I happened to be moving right down the street so the entire job took just under 4 hours. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little weary of their "miscellaneous" charges that they might try to add. David didn't pressure me with ANY extra charges! I was only billed for 4 hours of work which is their minimum for any job . read more

This was my first time using movers and I wanted to like this company so much more than I did. It started well. I asked for a 9 am slot. Sharon called the day before to confirm and told me they'd be there between 9 and 9:30. They arrived at 8:45 (points for punctuality). I wanted to be completely moved out of my 4th floor walk-up in 2 hours. Between the 3 movers, my boyfriend and I, and a few friends, we hit that deadline on the nose. These guys were like a mule team! There was no chatting or checking messages. From the time they arrived until they left, they were working. They didnt even stop for water until I offered them some. There wasnt much for us to do because they were so efficient. So why the low star rating? Well, things went sour soon after they arrived when one of them (a tall, thin middle eastern guy. I think his name was Moshay) started trying to price gouge us. I read the fine print in the contract which said they charge extra to wrap mirrors & TVs. Since we'd already wrapped most of our breakables in thick layers of bubble wrap (and were wrapping the rest when they arrived), all they had to do was wrap their "complimentary" blankets around the stuff and get it on the truck. Imagine our surprise when ol' Mo tells us that it'll be $10 extra PER MIRROR to wrap & move our mirrors (which I'd already wrapped, mind you), $25 extra per TV and whatever the hell extra they planned to charge us for the couch & mattresses. We said we didnt need all of those extras. Moshay insisted that we had to have them since they didnt want to be responsible for broken items. We said we'd put the fragile stuff on the truck ourselves if that was the case because we weren't gonna pay all these last minute a la carte fees when we already had packing materials and were wrapping it ourselves. By this time I was ready to cancel: I was already annoyed that Sharon increased the price between my initial quote and the scheduled move, and now this. Finally, he said that they'd do the wrapping and moving for $110 an hour. It was "only" $15 more an hour (plus the $10 more than I was initially quoted), so I decided to cough up the extra $100 bucks (which is what it cost after all was said and done) to get this show on the road. I wont outright call it a scam, but their business practices are sketchy at best. They quote you a low rate so that you'll choose them. Then when they arrive, they start piling on fees. In our case, even though we wrapped everything, they wanted to do it their way & charge us. And since you dont know what they're going to try and charge you for until they arrive, you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. They know you won't cancel your move, especially because it'll be too late to book anyone else, so you're stuck paying the fees. Granted, they were still cheaper than most of the other places I found, but I didnt need that headache from them first thing in the morning. Moshay said I should've asked for "full packing". Sharon offered it to me, but she didnt explain what it entailed. To me, "full packing" sounds like they'll pack AND move us, which we didnt need since we'd been packing for over a month. What THEY call "full packing" is wrapping TVs, mirrors and furniture in blankets & shrink wrap to protect it. Had it been explained that way, instead the arbitrary and misleading moniker, this whole misunderstanding would've been avoided. I also didnt like how Moshay tried to coddle me & engage me in several conversations to justify the upcharges or discuss his side of the story. (I am not paying by the hour for that). Instead, he spent the rest of the move trying smooth talk me: offering me unsolicited advice, trying to chat me up, expressing his disagreement with some of our furniture placement choices. I found it insulting because he spoke to me like I was some poor ingénue instead of a paying (and, at this point, pissed off) client, while sparing my boyfriend the same BS. I understand wanting a happy customer, but let the work do the talking. If you deal with Moshay, make sure you control the conversation. He's like a fly: He starts buzzing and soon you're so distracted trying to shoo him away and get on with things that you stop paying attention to what else is going on around you. I'm not exactly sure what time my move started or ended: I just signed the papers (without getting a copy of the receipt!) to hurry and get him out of my house. Based on my own estimate of when they started and ended, the charges seem correct, but if he can distract someone as meticulous, focused and organized as I pride myself on being, he'll probably distract you too. I can't say whether or not I would book them again. They did a very good job: they were quick and efficient and not one of our items was damaged. However, I dont like sneaky, deceptive or underhanded business practices (or people who undermine me because of my gender) whether intentional or not. read more

Universal Movers were awesome during our move last weekend. they were prompt, efficient, hard-working, and delicate with our stuff. I've used other movers in the past, but these guys are professional! We didn't have any worries with these guys. They did an excellent job of staying focused, putting things back together and wrapping them so they didn't break. I'd definitely use these guys again in the future. Despite a busted elevator and some other really challenging issues they couldn't control ,they did a great job of adapting and making sure we moved out promptly and efficiently. all around this is an outstanding team! Phenomenal service and very punctual. I was moving from Alexandria va to ashburn va. Found this company using Billy.com and at first was hesitant because there were several bidders and they were by far the most cost effective. My move is currently in process and isn't complete yet but they took all of my furniture within 2.5 hours out of my two bedroom apartment. I moved from Washington DC to Austin TX...Several moving company were extremely expensive. After days of research I found through yelp Universal Movers, a 5 starts moving company. I contacted them and I was surprised that their prices were affordable. The day that they came to pick up my stuff, they were on time and were done within hours. All my friends told me that moving companies are always at least 2 weeks late with the delivery. Universal Movers delivered all my stuff in 3 weeks (on time according to the contract). My move to Woodbridge was 09/01/2014. Universal Movers was the best price by far. The movers showed up on time and then began the discussion of the "specialty" packed items. My sofa, dresser/mirror had to be packed to ensure proper transport. The foreman told me that would take my rate from $85 an hour to $130 or $135. I informed him that is not what I discussed when I booked the move. He instead worked it so that I paid for the items individually. He also gave me a discount on the items which I appreciate. I later found out that I did not pay for packing of items, so the misunderstanding was my fault. The two primary works were fast and thorough (I gave each of them a tip). If I move again I definitely want the two main movers again. I was a bit unhappy with the foreman because he only took apart the bed and carried a few boxes. He was outside smoking and texting for most of the move. I contacted the company and let them know my displeasure. I also informed the manager of a scratch on my dresser and a box that I though was missing (which I found hidden in my closer). I let the manager know that I paid for 3 men and a truck not 2.25 men. Bean (the manager on duty when I called) explained that the foreman is there more-so an overseer. I let him know I did not feel valued as a customer. I am impressed with how management handled the situation. I received a discount on my service and Bean was more than willing to do what was necessary to make me feel valued again. I was also offered a discount if I used Universal for my next move. My rating indicates that the manager went above and beyond to make sure I left the experience feeling like a valued customer. Avoid this company at ALL COSTS. Just finished a move with them and I am incensed and feel so incredibly violated. We received an initial estimate from Universal to move from DC to NY. The original estimate was for $1500 for a small 2 bedroom house. Great price! So my husband calls them to book our move. All of our items were in a storage unit due to us having to move to NY before securing a home. They ask us how big of a truck we used to move and how big the storage unit was and upped the estimate to $2200 because our items may have weighed more. Ok, fine. We would get a final price when they weighed the truck after loading. So we send them a deposit and are told they will pick our stuff up at 9am on Sunday the 21st and deliver it to NY the same day. Sunday comes around, they get to our unit early and everything seems like it is going great. All of a sudden the movers tell my husband that our move is no longer direct - they need to go to Philly first but not to worry, they will still deliver our stuff on Sunday because that was what was in the contract and Philly is on the way. What can we say? Our stuff is already on the truck. So we say fine and off they go. 4pm rolls around, 5pm rolls around, and no movers in NY. We try calling them - no answer. We call the office - no answer. We finally get a hold of a manager and she doesn't know where they are. Finally get a call from the movers saying they WON'T deliver same day because "we drove a lot and we are tired." EXCUSE ME? I remind them of the agreement and they say no, we won't come. I call the office, my husband calls the office. The manager says she will call them and figure out what is going on and will call us back. She never calls back. Movers call my husband again around 8pm and say "sorry, we aren't coming - we'll be there at 11am tomorrow." Turns out, they were still in MD - they never left. Today rolls around, I get a call at 7am to authorize the credit card for payment. I haven't seen a final bill and no one is telling me on the phone how much I owe. My husband calls the office and the manager says that our truck was now overweight so we had to pay more. Again, what can we say, they have our things. I authorize and they said they are already on their way. 11 am comes and goes. No movers. Noon, no movers. 1pm and finally they arrive. They give me the bill and start moving things in. Now, let me say that the other mover that actually did all the work was wonderful. He was fast, efficient, and kind. Moshe, who I perceive to be the supervisor, however was terrible. He calls me sweetie and honey they whole time, barely helps the poor other mover and on top of all of it, sexually harasses me before he leaves. He asked me why we didn't buy a house instead of renting. Annoyed, because it's none of his business, I just say it's expensive. Without batting an eye he says "well, if you were the daughter of a tramp maybe you could afford it." WHAT!?!?!?! In what universe is that acceptable. At this point I just want them gone so I sign the paper work and they leave. After they have left I notice that there is no weight info at all, they have charged me a boxing fee, and another random $200 "previous charge." I go to look at the boxes and they have gone through my things! Items have been removed from some boxes and put into boxes they provided. They put my clothes into wardrobe boxes, put more tape on things that were already taped. None of this was authorized. So, to sum up, they overcharged, didn't deliver the day they said they would, harassed me, and violated us by going through our personal belongings. I have never been angrier at a business in my entire life. I wish I had more thoroughly read the reviews instead of being placated by the 4 stars Yelp displays for this place. They showed up an hour late. On top of that, one of the three guys was on his phone the entire time, not moving - and you are charged by the hour. In addition, I was charges $215 for 'packing' - I had everything already packed, they simply taped a few boxes. This was the first time in 10 years that I was moving on my own. I contacted several companies and received quotes but Universal Movers gave me the best deal. I had a 2 bedroom apartment on a 3 floor walkup and was moving to another 2 bedroom 3 floor walkup. Sharon recommended 4 movers and gave me the best quote out of ten moving companies. The reservation and confirmation process was easy and was given an approximate time of 9 to 9:30. I had read the reviews ahead of time and was concerned about 1 review in particular. Since I am an early 30s single woman I asked a male friend to come over just to help and make sure everything was done. Moving onto the actual move- EH. The movers showed up at 9:39. I am not sure who the crew was (but it sounds like I got the same crew as a previous reviewer) but the foreman was talking SO fast and was so pushy I could not understand what was going on. Furthermore, they spoke to each other in Spanish about my move and what THEY thought I needed versus what I requested. What they didn't know was that I understand Spanish and I responded back to their side chatter in English. I noticed that 2 movers had Universal Mover shirts, 1 had a different company shirt on, 1 in regular street clothes (hmmmm). He discussed fees for tape, bubble wrap, boxes, packing. Since I had read the earlier reviews my mirrors were wrapped already I just needed my couch wrapped in the furniture blankets (already included in the price). However, the foreman kept telling me that my mattresses needed to be shrink wrapped and that their needed to be tape over the blankets. But I was clear; all I needed were the furniture blankets. The first 45 minutes were awesome. The majority of my stuff was on the truck with the exception of the heavy pieces (couch, desk, dresser, bed). But after that the process moved very slowly. I offered water because I could see they were getting tired but they turned down my offer. The foreman told me that there would be a charge for the mirror on my dresser but my friend told them he would wrap it and take it separately. After 2 hours, I left my friend with the movers and went to my new apartment since we were almost complete. They made it to my new apartment around 12:15; 12:30 and the foreman immediately got out and came in to speak with me. He was extremely pushy yet again insisting that he needed to close out the ticket. I thought this was odd since they had not moved anything off the truck. This is where the conversation got sticky. He decided that there was a four hour minimum so he was charging me for 4 hours (I was okay with that) and then he told me it was 81.00 in packing fees. Apparently he charged me for 2 rolls of shrink wrap, a picture box (he wrapped my dresser mirror even though we said not) and 10 rolls of tape. I was furious! They also ignored my color coded boxes and just put everything in one room. They promise to dissemble and reassemble everything and they tried to leave without putting together my desk, bookcase and coffee table. They took it upon themselves to pack a box and throw random items in it and it took me hours to figure out where my items where. Customers beware! If you use universal movers make sure you stay on top over everything that is going on. Watch them carefully and do not allow them to do anything without asking "is there a fee". This company is the absolute worst. Please avoid at all costs. When booking the job, we stated that we did not want our items to be packaged and wrapped as we boxed our own items and had wrapped furniture that we believed was necessary to wrap. The day of the move, we reiterated that the items should not be packed or wrapped. The owner arrived and had me initial the agreement that said he estimated 3 hours of labor and 1 hour of travel at $110/hour for a total of $440. The agreement contained no indication that the items would be wrapped or doing so would entail an additional fee. After I initial the agreement, the owner directs his guys to begin wrapping my furniture. I indicate again that we do not want our items wrapped and that we, in fact, specifically indicated when booking the job that items were not to be wrapped. He tells me that "It's okay, it's just something I do to protect myself so you don't claim I damaged your goods." He says nothing about any of this leading to additional fees. Regardless, I again indicated I did not want my items wrapped. He ignores my wishes and directs his guys again to wrap items and then leaves. After the owner leaves, I instruct the movers that my items should not be wrapped and instead be put in the moving truck. However, they continuously ignore my instructions. Over two hours was wasted wrapping several items, including a mattress and boxspring that we had wrapped ourselves. After the truck was loaded, I called the owner and asked where the facility was. He said "Don't worry about it, I'll call you when we're done." So I tipped the crew and went inside to do some touch-up painting. I left my residence about thirty minutes later to find his crew sitting in the backyard still. There, I began to feel seriously concerned that things were not on the up and up. I get a phone call from the owner later telling me I owe him $1,170 which included $300 for packaging materials - the same materials we specifically requested they not use. I ask him to itemize the expenses and he tells me it took his guys 2 hours to travel from the Cathedral area in DC to Rockville, MD - a 15 mile commute. I argue about the fee and he tells me "I won't charge your card until you're happy." The following day, I indicate that I no longer feel comfortable storing my items with him. He tells me he won't release my possessions unless I pay in full. I need to involve the police who instruct him that he needs to release my possessions to me. The owner was also directed to send me a copy of my agreement (which he would not give me on the day of) and I see that after I initialed it, he added 7.5 hours of labor and $300 of packing fees to the document. Moreover, and unbeknownst to me at the time, the company issued two charges to my credit card (apart from the initial $110 deposit) of $1,060 and $2,000! I was able to retrieve my items, but I had to again involve the police. When I prepare to leave, owner says to me "Remember this, the cheap pay twice." He must have meant seven times because the charge to my credit card is nearly seven times the initial estimate. In short, avoid at all costs. The business is based on a practice of deception and manipulation. - The website says those who store and move with him receive free loading into the unit and one free month of storage - however, when I brought it up, the owner told me that's only for "long distance" although the website says "local and long distance moves". - The door of his business says Better Business Bureau accredited, however, a quick visit to the Better Bureau Business website shows that not only is he not accredited, he has over 10 complaints issued against him for very similar issues. - A search of the Maryland court system shows there are two active civil cases against this company for contract claims. Again, avoid this company. It is trouble - they'll take advantage of you when you are in a bind and then to play the role of your friend, then they'll act obtuse, and, if you challenge them, then they'll become aggressive and berate you to try to make you feel like you're taking advantage of them. read more

Hired the movers for a recent move. Told the contact person Sharon its two bedroom apartment but she made a note of one bedroom while scheduling appointment. When movers came in they said they were informed one bed room but since its 2 bedroom apartment, he asked to pay greater amount (than what was quoted initially) as fixed rate and it will take 5-6 hours but the actual move took 4 hours. We asked to reduce amount as it was mistake on their end but he said he would leave the place if we didn't pay the amount he asked. During the move, they were rushing, didn't pay attention, broke couple of things and some of the guys were flirting and passing bad comments. This was the first moving company we've ever used and I really wanted to love them because all of the other reviews were great and is the reason why we went with this company. I will start off by saying the movers worked hard, arrived on time, made sure to ask us questions in regards to what we'd like done and overall, were nice. However, the reason I'm only giving them 3 stars is because I feel like they took way too long to load a 2 bedroom apartment which was already at least 85% packed. They took 6.5 hours to complete our move even though we moved literally 7 minutes down the street. Those goes into the next problem, as we were leaving our previous apt we were told "give us 10 mins, we'll be right behind you" this was around 3:10pm, they literally didn't show up til 4:10. Of course I'm pissed and I called the manager Sharon to complain that I did not want to be charged the $110 for an hour they took doing who knows what. She said that she agrees and to have them call in to fix the time. I thought great, that was seamless. Well, of course when I bought up the issue to guy in charge of the moving he swore up and down they didn't take that long and would deduct only 30 mins from our bill. I was very disappointed to see the extent to which the actual amount I was charged exceeded the estimate I was provided. In addition to the hourly rate I was quoted, there were hefty packing fees. At no point did the workers inform me prior to wrapping any pieces of furniture in plastic that there would be an additional fee, or ask prior to wrapping whether I would like the pieces to be wrapped in plastic and not just blankets (which are supposed to be included in the hourly rate). Additionally, one piece of furniture that was wrapped in blankets and plastic now has a significant scratch on the top, so the wrapping did not seem to actually protect it. Moses, who was the head of the team of three movers, tried to be friendly and charming but mostly came across as condescending. His manner was reminiscent of a used car salesman - he pegged me as a single 20-something woman who he thought needed his sage advice on everything from why my choice of furniture was bad to why I should have moved somewhere else because he decided my condo fee was too high. Although they got the job done moving most of the furniture from a two-bedroom apartment about 6 miles in three hours, the experience left an overwhelmingly bad taste in my mouth. I was really hoping to like these movers based on all the positive reviews, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. read more

We used Universal Movers to move us into 2 PODs and then unload them 3 weeks later into our new house. We have nothing but praise for them, they made the experience so easy. They were on time, and that crew worked hard, absolutely nonstop. I shopped around 5 companies and they were the 2nd cheapest. They packed those PODS so efficiently, taking advantage of every single space. They wrapped our furniture, they brought garment boxes for the hanging clothes. They took apart and rebuilt beds and desks, they were very conscientious when unloading to put boxes in the right rooms. There were no surprises in the pricing, they did not attempt to add on any extra fees other than the one we had discussed, which was $50 for pad rental since we had to hold on to their pads and garment boxes for 3 weeks inside the PODs. They will work on Sunday, unlike some of the other movers, without any additional fee. This is a family run business, hard working and prideful of their work. Highly recommend. read more

Reserving and confirming the move was a breeze and Sharon was very prompt and nice to communicate with. On the day of the move, David and his crew are very professional and courteous. They arrived exactly on time for a 9:30 move on a Sunday morning. The movers were very careful and efficient with the furniture and the three of them worked very well together. We Lived on a third floor walk up and still got our two bedroom apartment cleared within 2.5 hours. The owner tried to resolve a situation that he did not cause. I appreciated his time and effort to resolve it. I believe if he did my moving I would have had a better result. I booked my move more than a month in advance scheduled for July 21st. Sharon called me on the 20th to confirm that the 4 professional movers would arrive by 10:30 on the 21st. On the 21st I received a call from some guy that stated that one of the movers called in sick and they were going to have to move my date. What??? I laughed and said he must be joking because what professional moving company doesn't account for people calling in sick? I told him that I was moving today and he needed to get it figured out. I then called Sharon and she was completely unaware of the pending cancellation of my move. She called me back 5 minutes later and said that I would only be getting 3 movers. At 10:40 they showed up and was ready to rock out this move. My husband and I spent the previous day moving all the boxes and the majority of all of my furniture onto the main level of the house so that it would not take as long for the movers as they would not need to be running up and down the stairs. What I paid for was 4 professional movers and what I got was 1 professional mover and 2 day laborers that had never moved anyone. One of them even told me that he was a professional painter the day before and he had been hired that morning to help with my move. The 1 professional mover "Rambo" spent the entire time wrapping every single piece of furniture that I owned in gobs and gobs of tape, plastic wrap, and blankets (that they charge you extra for). He did not do any of the heavy lifting and every so often would check on the 2 laborers and have to have them unload the packed truck and reload it because they had no idea how to properly pack a moving truck. Some of the furniture was too heavy for the 2 guys so they banged up my walls and I had to go run to the hardware store and buy plaster to go behind them and repair the dents and holes they were putting in the walls. Rambo took so long to wrap the furniture that my husband and I had to pitch in because what was quoted to be worst case an 8 hour move was going to be 12 at this rate. We did not even finish packing the truck until almost 5 in the evening. By the time we got to my new house (5 miles away) it was 6 pm and Rambo then informs us that he needs to take a lunch break. The poor laborers were unloading the truck and my husband and I had to run around the house and unwrap everything, at this point it very clear that Rambo was useless and was purposely dragging out the clock. When the move was done I handed a bill for nearly $1500 I was furious. I was so furious I could not even speak, not only did I pay for 4 PROFESSIONAL mover and got 1, I had to go and repairs many of my walls, and I had to pay nearly double what I was quoted. I have never had such a terrible experience moving. The reason I paid for a moving company was because I didn't want to do the heavy lifting. I was sore for days because had my husband and I not jumped in to help it would have taken 2 days to move my very small 3 bedroom home. Rambo even had the nerve to ask me to write a Yelp review. I purchase a few pieces of furniture from a friend who was moving. I needed to have the furniture delivered to 2 houses. First stop 7 miles away, second another 7 miles. The truck showed up 3 1/2 late. To be fair, the crew did call me twice saying they would be late. I appreciate that, but I had people waiting at two houses to receive the furniture. I was told there would be no extra charge for a second stop, as long as it was within the 3 hour minimum time frame. They tried to charge me $35 for an extra stop. The issue was resolved and the charge was dropped. The crew was very pleasant and efficient. I think $55.00 for shrink wrap for a couple of pieces seems kinda high, but I was told up front that packing materials would be extra. The only complaint I have is the contract specified furniture would be dismantled and reassembled. A loft bed was disassemble, but the never reassemble, even though there was an hour left on the 3 hour minimum. Before I realized the bed was not put together, the crew had left. I called Universal Movers the next day to ask why the bed was not assembled? I was told I should have told them to do it. I was in a different room signing papers completing the transaction thinking the bed was being put together. I do take some responsibility for signing the papers before all work was completed. Customer service could have been better. I would like to emphasize, the crew was great. Especially for working on a 100 degree day. read more

Horrible, Horrble Movers. Stay AWAY from these thieves. I wish I could rate them in negative. They are big liars and will rip you off during the move day under the disguise of "wrapping and protecting" your stuff. Not only that, these thieves stole my valuables as well. I lost number of large moving boxes, each probably move than 50 pound in weight. Not only did they loose my boxes, the delivery guy didnt get any tools for assembling the furniture and told me that it was not his responsibility to carry the tools. They dont care about your stuff. They will just rip you of your hard earned money and are horrible FRAUDS. They offer you on 60 center per pound of compensation, if your stuff is lost. They lost my stuff worth more than 4K and are not even picking up my call for refund. STAY AWAY from these FRAUDs. read more

They did an excellent job!!! They were on time, fast, and were really understanding when they had to wait for us to get our new keys! They also were kind enough to tape up our dressers and beds to ensure there was no damage. We even had boxes that weren't taped up and they went ahead and finished taping them.Their prices are really good in comparison to other moving companies. This moving experience was quick and professional.. I highly recommend using them.. This is my second move in 17 year's, and i despise moving..but this was a no worry process. They guys were on time and didn't mess around, they went straight to work. They even told me that i could leave and go to my new home and wait on them, they would be directly behind me, and they were. They arrived in a reasonable amount of time and unloaded my items even faster than they loaded them. The put my furniture back together and was done. read more

These guys are awesome! We were doing a semi-local move and went for a flat rate. Our house was about 3000 square feet. They showed up on time, worked long and hard and got the job done. We had them do a full move at a flat rate per hour that included all packing, supplies and unloading (but not unpacking). Thus far we haven't found a single thing broken. Their prices are very resonable. So reasonable I actually wondered if there was a catch. The only reason I didn't give them 5 starts is because they were over their estimate on hours. I expected this and actually budgeted for it since I've done enough moves to know how long it takes to pack up our stuff but I specifically had them come to my house to do a visual estimate because of this. I do not think they were trying to rip me off or low ball me, I think they just underestimated the amount of small breakables we had that required more packing. Even with the extra hours I had to pay for and a well earned tip for their movers (which I think they expected) they were still well below other estimates I got. I would use them again and reccomend them to anyone. read more

Worst moving experience ever. They dont know how to put furniture back together properly. After they moved my stuff in my new apartment, they didnt put my bed-with storage drawers back together right. They left 2 of my draweres jammed, and now I cant use them. I immediately called the supervisor after they left, and he said "I will come back tomorrow". After about 3 more instances of me calling/rescheduling with him, listening to him tell me its not urgent, and having to hear his life story about why he couldnt make it I decided to call the main line to ask if someone else could help me. The lady then said to "try again tomorrow". I gave up and decided to hire a handyman to come fix my bed. They may have the cheapest price, but that comes with a side of bs. read more

The other reviews about this company are spot on. The movers have no consideration for furniture or personal items and will definitely break at least a few things. The movers also have major ATTITUDE and will make your life miserable. It's definitely worth finding a company that has respect for you and your items. I had a long distance move and Sharon seemed to be on top of my moving schedule, in terms of the time line that I was given to move. However, once the movers came to pick up my furniture I knew I was in trouble. I also had the same movers (one tall skinny guy and another guy that didn't speak at all). I could barely understand anything he was saying and he basically fast talked me into getting some things wrapped at an additional cost. I knew I was in big trouble because he carelessly ran into the doorway and almost broke my coffee table before he even loaded it on the truck. The biggest issue came when they unloaded my items at my new location and I noticed ALL of my floor lamps were broken and several items were scratched/broken. Long story short- I ended up getting into a verbal argument with the mover in my living room because he said that my items were based on weight, so to quote him, "am I going to argue over $10??" since that was what he claimed my items were worth. I was really upset because I had a scratch on my dining room table that I had to pay extra to get wrapped and covered! He continued to argue with me for about 15 minutes about the scratch and he accused me of having the scratch before I moved (the table was less than a year old and I think I would noticed a huge scratch). In addition to broken/scratched items, I opened one box and it was filled with dirt and small rocks?! Where are they storing boxes that dirt can get inside of them? Besides the fact that they don't have any respect for personal items, they also will not communicate with you about where to place your furniture upon arrival at your new home. The mute mover placed my bed in the wrong position without even asking me where I wanted it and I had to ask him two times to move in the place that I preferred. I don't think that's a lot to ask for, but I guess it is?? I ended up having to talk to the tall, skinny mover again because I requested a refund since my table and other items that were wrapped were damaged. We argued again on the phone multiple times! I don't understand why there isn't a customer service representative that would call you and instead of having to argue with the mover that actually broke your items. He said he would talk to his "manager" about the broken items and try and get me a refund. I think this "manager" doesn't really exist because they refused to give me his number and I never directly talked to him. In the end I wish I listened to the other horrible reviews on here because they are absolutely true. Save yourself a headache and find another moving company. read more

They are out great, but then you have to watch your invoice for charges that they didn't tell you about, such as loading and unloading. If you're a long distance move they have a tendency to forget things such as bed frames. Then when you try to arrange for them to ship it they ignore your phone calls and emails. read more
