Street Parking Only & It's Definitely Hit Or Miss. I Got Lucky & Found A Spot, But It Is Metered So Be Prepared To Pay. This Spot Is Literally A "Side Door" Located On The Side Of Scarlet Oak. Super Unique Setup With Cool Lights That Make It Easy To Spot. It's Different From Your Typical Pizza Place, Which I Actually Liked. Since It Was Monday, They Had Half-Off Pizzas If You Dine In & I Had To Take Advantage Of That. CHEESE PIZZA I Ordered A Cheese Pizza & Lemon Water. This Is Detroit-Style Pizza, So Don't Expect New York Style. It's Thick, With A Generous Amount Of Mozzarella Cheese & Tomato Sauce. Honestly, It Almost Felt Like A Cheesy Bread Situation But In A Good Way. The Crust Was Buttery With A Slight Crisp On The Outside & Soft Inside, Which Was The Perfect Balance. The Ingredients Tasted Fresh, & It Was Very Filling. The Size I Got Came With 4 Slices, & Honestly, 2 Slices Was More Than Enough. I'd Definitely Come Back & Bring My Son This Feels Like A Spot He'd Love, Especially If He's Into Breadsticks & Cheesy Pizza. The Staff Was Decent, Though I Didn't Interact Much. The Overall Setup Is Interesting, A Full Restaurant Vibe Inside With This Separate Pizza Concept On The Side. Different, But It Works. I'm Glad I Finally Tried It, Unique Setup, Solid Detroit-Style Pizza, & A Great Deal If You Catch It On The Right Day. Just Have To Be In The Mood For Detroit-Style Pizza.

Once we found Side Door Pizza on Yelp and read all the reviews we were sold. It was a quick walk from our hotel and we got take out. When we arrived at the restaurant for check-in, everyone in line already had a reservation. They also have some patio seating when the weather is nice. Once we were seated, the table had a carafe of water for self-service. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the polpo al forno (charred octopus) appetizer and my friend ordered the cacio e pepe. The octopus was cooked correctly - it was tender and not chewy, but it was not the *most tender* that I've ever had. It was served with garlic confit potatoes, a variety of peppers, arugula, and a squid ink aioli. Everything had good flavor overall. Food was prepared quickly. Service was standard. They did all the basic checks but was nothing exceptional. The cacio e pepe came with a homemade tonnarelli. The tonnarelli had a good chewiness to it and stood up well to the melty cheese. It also held the heat well. It's a simple and classic dish that fit the bill. I would come here to try more dishes, but nothing immediately blew me away as a *must* return. The pizzas looked good. They have a wood fired oven, which is always a plus. For now, I'd rate Lupo Marino as 3.5 stars, but I'll round up for potential.

Watching employees eat while a customer is standing there waiting with no explanation is unacceptable. Andy's Pizza definitely needs to work on its customer service and management presence.

It's comfort food done right. Their salads deserve just as much recognition. They're always fresh, generously portioned, and full of flavor. My biggest pet peeve about NY style pizza places is that it's impossible to snag a hot slice out of the oven. When the pipping hot pizza is taken out of the oven, it's tucked under the display case. By the time the pizza pie is depleted from the display case, the hidden pizza gets cold as it's finally moved up. The cycle repeats itself...so you can never get a hot fresh slice of pizza. The Garlic Knots were hands-down the best part of my oil! I wish I could order a single knot as I didn't really want 3 knots.
