Instead of addressing my concerns, she gave vague answers and then just said "no" when I asked why it wasn't done correctly. I never received a clear explanation, so I walked away.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The $10 charge was for a magnet imprint line that took about 3 seconds per nail. The entire service was rushed--I arrived at 3 PM and was already out of the chair paying by 3:30 PM. FOR GEL X W/CATEYE DESIGN???! It was obvious she was rushing to get to the next client. UPDATE: Now, less than 24 hours later, THUMB NAIL completely lifted (I had to super glue back down) then FOLLOWING DAY: MIDDLE FINGERNAIL, PINKY FINGERNAIL, AND RING FINGERNAIL COMPLETELY POPPED OFF! 4 finger nails in 48 hours?! BEYOND pissed. Will be returning to a different salon immediately for complete removal and new set. Absolutely ridiculous. At my usual salon, I've been getting Gel-X and cat-eye manicures consistently for nearly a year without any issues with the expected results or lifting. Got what I wanted, but towards the end at checkout she charged me over $100. I told her that's not what we agreed. She said it starts at $60 which she did not. I told her $60 for everything and she said yes. Sketchy practices. They asked for a tip afterwards which I declined. I get it but be real with your clients. Name your prices honestly. I requested an almond gel-x manicure, I'd say the shape itself is more round than almond which was the first disappointment; no big deal about the shape though I usually fix it myself if it doesn't come out the cleanest. What I'm pretty sad about is the quality of work itself, the gel-x extensions were placed pretty crooked, I have large gaps underneath my nail yet somehow the gel is also overflowing. I went here b/. It was new to my area and had great reviews , my birthday is coming up next week and I decided to treat myself to a full set. I was so excited to get my nails done (I usually never get them done). Made an appointment the day before and arrived 5 minutes before was greeted and sat right way. I showed the nail tech what I wanted and she got right to work she was nice, however I wish she would have told me she couldn't do the design I had shown her. She tried her best and few times redoing it over and over but just couldn't. At the last try I just could tell she just didn't know what she was doing and asked if she would leave them plain instead. She asked me if I wanted chrome at least (I'd never had chrome nails) so I told her it was fine. I wish they would have told me up front that she couldn't do that design. Or if I had a back up instead of trying over and over and well I ended up very disappointed over the shape and with no design. The color is probably the only thing these nails have going. She also didn't clean up my cuticles prior to applying the acrylic? Long story short I learned my lesson and more than likely wouldn't return here . Im really sad to say that I got an infection on my toe, I had noticed she had trimmed the nail and all and when she put alcohol it burned a bit so I assumed ah maybe nicked me, keep in mind my toes were fine the day before.
