This restaurant was located in a moderately accessible location near Katy Fwy and Gessner in Houston. The menu board was not easy to follow, but the cashier was very helpful. The total price of my meal was right under $20. It included a waygu burger with cheese, a generous portion of fries, and a fountain drink. I needed to use the restroom when I arrived. It was clean and well stocked. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with an old school nostalgia touch. My burger was just ok. I probably did not need their special sauce. It would have been just ok to taste the meat and cheese rather than have the flavor over powered by the toppings. The fries were unique, fresh, hot, and very good. I got lemonade from the fountain and it tasted like water. I alerted the staff to change the bag in the box, and the issue was resolved immediately. My overall impression was overpriced and just average. The service, cleanliness, quality, and willingness to serve was awesome.

Wagyu burger = AWESOME!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Now on my top burgers list in Houston. Wagyu Burger is amazing. Juicy and full of flavor with their house sauce. I added bacon and jalapeños. The fries are huge so share with a friend. Staff is very nice and helpful. Restaurant is attached to 2 other places with a bar and a sand volleyball court. Great experience and will be back many times.

Wowzerssss!!! What a dope place. There's a little bit for everyone. This place is ducked off of Westview and Witte Road. There are several tables with umbrellas, corn hole, volleyball, a playground for kids and some swing chairs. The Decoy, which is a bar, is also in the same building. You can dine in or sit outside and eat on the green or the patio. Lets get to my order. I got the veggie burger, onion rings and fountain drink. My food was very good. It wasnt piping hot but it was room temperature. Perfect. I love the sesame bun, the avocado and one of the employees let me try the jalapeño mayo. Chef's kiss and Im not even a mayo person. My meal was $17.85 I didn't look at the ingredients but could've gone without the corn. But 4.8/5 Restaurant and latrine is super clean. Customer service was awesome and inviting.

Chose to eat here as it's attached to the volleyball bar I was at (The Decoy). I ordered the angus burger with a side of fries. The entire meal was just standard and nothing memorable. Definitely good for a quick and convenient fix, but nothing to go out of the way for.

It wasn't bad but it also didn't leave a wow factor. Pretty pricey for what it was. Fries were not included (additional $5). Honestly I think it was the bun that I hated. Food came out quickly (maybe 3 min after we ordered. Service was alright. They offer 15% for students, first responders, healthcare and military which is nice.

My husband got the fuego wagyu burger and I got the wagyu burger and both were great!! The bun was soft but didn't quite fall apart which I really appreciate. We got the fries - which were interesting/different in their shape but they had nice seasoning and good flavor. We got a cookies and cream shake- it was good it wasn't too sweet, tasted more milky. We sat outside it was super nice. They have a small indoor area.

My friend and I tried Underbelly Burger for the first time. What a disappointment. First the good: Our order taker was friendly, immediately greeted us, and she was helpful with suggestions plus answering questions. Now for the rest: the place was completely empty. To be fair, it was a cold and rainy day. The inside is very small with limited seating. There is only one booth seating spot to fit 2 people. They have a decent size outdoor patio, but again, the weather was not good to be outside. Our goal was to order a couple items to share so we could both try a couple items. We settled on the Wagyu burger with a side of onion rings and the Chicken Bit Box with fries. When our order was ready, the girl called our names from the counter. First of all, she saw where we were sitting, the place had no one in there except us, so why wouldn't she bring the food to the table for us? Secondly, we explained we were going to split the meal, and we were ordering to eat at the restaurant. With this information, you would think the order would be placed on a tray. The order was handed to me in a bag with a boat type sleeve of the burger topping on the side. We asked for them on the side, so that was fine, but why no tray to carry all this stuff to the table. Not a huge deal, and we made it work. It's just strange for her not to have paid attention to those details. She did seem rattled when we placed our order, so maybe she was having an off day. The best thing about the burger was the bun. They use Martin's Potato Rolls. They are awesome. These are the buns I buy when making burgers at home. They are loaded with sesame seeds, and they are perfectly fluffy. I do not recall them being so much on the small size. The burger looked exceptionally small. The onion rings are thicker than I prefer. They tasted okay. The Chicken Bit Box. BIT is the optimum word and very tiny pieces of chicken that I am not sure should even be called chicken. My friend cut one open and the meat was brown. Definitely not white meat chicken. The fries that come with the bit box are those thick semi curled fries. Some were so thick they didn't get fried well. All in all, it was so poor, I would not even consider giving this place another try. That's one of the reasons I like getting a couple items to split. If one thing is bad, you can give grace, but if everything is bad, that's a problem. The portions are small, the indoor seating selection is small, the drink selection is small, the customer service is small, but the bill was large. $38.83 and that's with a 15% tip which really peeves me. I tipped! Smaller than I would for full service, but more than I normally do for counter service. So tired of that at the screen tip shaming situation. What in the heck did the tip go toward because it certainly wasn't service or quality. Maybe this place was good at first. Seems to be a trend these days to get it right at the beginning, then sluff off as the time goes on. For those who follow me, as I always say with anything less than 4 stars, it pains me to score a place so low. What a shame!

This one expensive burger combo. Almost $20 (as of June 2024). Not that great in my opinion
Danny L.

$19.40 after tax and tip for a burger combo (as of June 2024). Holy smokes! Everything is self serve, so not sure why I tipped $1. Burger was ok. A bit bland in my opinion but it put food in my stomach. Reminded me of Five Guys, but more expensive. Not worth the cost in my opinion. The fries are cut thick and shaped with a curl to it. Outside is a bit crispy and inside is mushy. Not a huge fan of it because I prefer thinner fries, but ok. If you order a soda, it's not from a fountain but a can. Thought that was interesting. Interior is small and clean, suitable for a casual lunch. Just a few tables. Plenty of parking.

Chocolate milkshake $2.00 off for national chocolate day!

Underbelly Burgers absolutely nailed it! From the moment I walked in, the energy was amazing -- the staff was super friendly and had everyone laughing like we were all part of one big inside joke. It's rare to find a place that serves up great food and great vibes like that. Now, the food... wow. The burgers were juicy and full of flavor, but the real stars for me were the Sidewinder fries -- perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and seasoned just right. And don't even get me started on the milkshakes -- thick, creamy, and the perfect sweet finish to the meal. Underbelly Burgers isn't just a burger spot -- it's a full-on good time with amazing food to match. Can't wait to go back!

The front facing business at this new development in Spring Branch. I'm hoping it elevates, and helps the area begin to turn around a bit quicker. The parking situation here is a bit of an issue when it gets busy on the weekends. There's valet only and you're almost forced to park on the side streets, many people are probably familar with the drill for some of the trendier areas of town. I visited during a Texans watch party at the joining bar The Decoy, which doesn't serve food. Service was relatively quick, which I was expecting as the menu is limited. I like streamlined menus, as you can tend to anticipate extremely well executed food when the selection is small. Went with the Wagyu Burger with everything on it. It s a very traditional double cheeseburger that didn't miss in anyway. Plenty of beef and cheese with condiments that are fresh and cut through the richness. Nice looking seasame seed bun and not too greasy or messy while staying juicy. It didn't stand out too much though, and if you're gonna charge $13 for just the burger it's gotta be in your face good. Good not great. I liked the throwback 60's diner feel and the concept as a whole feels very cohesive. Not a ton of seating inside, but there is a patio and the bar next door if you want to sit and hang out a bit

Stopped in on my way to an elite event right behind here. I was hungry and had time before my event started. I ordered the Angus burger and it was very good. It was juicy and came with a double patty with cheese. I didn't order fries but from others there they said they were good. There are lots of burgers out there and this one can hold its own.

I was looking for a place nearby to get a good hamburger and chose this one because of the local sourcing of the beef. I asked the staff members if the beef was also hormone/antibiotic free and neither of them knew so I'm assuming it's not. It was a good burger but IMO way too much house sauce. The beef tasted good by itself and really doesn't even need sauce. I liked that it had an outdoor patio, but most of the tables were dirty. The inside garbage can was full to the top and there was trash on the floor. The staff was busy, but IMO cleanliness is most important.

Harry B.

Underwhelming! After hearing so many good things, I was completely underwhelmed with the food, partially because they like to serve their burger their way not necessarily how you want it, the staff was nice enough. The ambience was OK. The quality was good. I just didn't quite like the taste, but I'm sure that others will, give it a shot and share what you didn't didn't like as well

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. The basic burger is $12, and anything you want to add or replace is extra. Now that's including the basic sauce, which I thought would be an additional homemade sauce if I needed. Again, I am learning. I ordered grilled chicken, but at the counter, a very nice person, Eric, told me they were out of grilled chicken and had fried chicken available. I guess so, since I spend some time. I don't want to wait any longer. I also ordered homemade lemonade, which came with lots of ice. I requested that some ice be removed. I also added chard jalapenos, which were tasteless and slightly burned, so they lost their flavor. The food pick-up area was separate, and the guy who gave you a food tray could have been friendlier and said thank you. Oh well, my burger was a piece of chicken with lettuce and onion. It was ok but very dry inside. So make sure you order sauce or anything for your burger, and pay for it. When I got there, the dining hall was empty. I like this place, but plz if you're going there for the first time, read the menu carefully and place your order. Service could be friendlier, and the dining hall was clean.

I went with the Double Good Burger at Johnny Good Burger, and honestly... it was surprisingly good. Perfectly smashed patties with those crispy edges, juicy inside, and well-balanced flavors that didn't feel overcomplicated. Sometimes simple just works--and this definitely did. The fries deserve their own shoutout: extra crispy, hot, and downright addictive. No soggy sadness here. I kept telling myself "just one more" until the tray was mysteriously empty. All in all, a very satisfying burger experience. If you're in the mood for a legit smash burger and happen to be wandering POST Houston, this one's absolutely worth stopping for.

There were no other customers at the time, but that's to be expected for a slow Monday. The menu is quite simple with just 4 different entrees, 3 different ways to order fries, and a few soft drink options in a cold case. Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. One that even has a cool bathroom with a mirror that says "you look amazing." Exactly how you're going to feel about the food that looks even better than it does in its promo photos
