    Mu Shu and Mongolian Beef
    Stephanie T.

Mandarin Triple Crown Taste was goon but the cornstarch made was really thick and clumpy, especially in the broccoli. Mu Shu Taste is good but there are around 4 wraps which isn't very much given the price. Mongolian beef Really on the salty side. I don't recommend ordering this without a large amount of rice. We had noodles and it was too much salt and didn't mask the flavor much. Singaporean noodle Noodles had a good amount and good curry flavor but the meat pieces are a bit dry Service was slow but ambiance was nice. Not a big fan and I feel like the food isn't very authentic, which is usually what I look for in a Chinese place.

    Chicken Chow Mein Skinny Noodle

Beef seemed a little overcooked and small pieces in the Broccoli Beef, Chicken Chow Mein pieces of chicken were also on the small side. Overall, just ok.

    Fried Rice [3.5 stars, $13]

Chinese food? What? Where? Gimme...gimme! Yes, I'm a sucker for it. I need it. I badly need it! Uncle Yu's, despite the cumulative 3.5 star rating, I was willing very much to give it try. The restaurant is nice. Upscale, but the chairs don't match and then there's carpet, so there's that. Menu has tantalizing dishes (albeit print is very small), and very nice and welcoming service. However, the food was just okay. I can understand why the rating. It was the standard stuff, but we (the gf and the pooch) never said "Wow". They were all nice sized and generous portions. * Beef & Broccoli [3.5 stars, $16.50] -- good, but not great beef. * Prawns w/Mixed Vegetables [3.5 stars, $17] -- underdone shrimp, but overall, meh. * Fried Rice [3.5 stars, $13] -- we didn't get meat, so our fault it that it was plain, but under-seasoned. * Sauteed Green Beans [4.0 stars, $14] -- this was delish. Would I go back? Yes, but certainly not running. 3.5 stars bumped up for good behavior.

Great food. Best Mongolian beef around. Really missed the one in San Ramon but will make the trip to Lafayette.

I had a really upsetting experience ordering from here through Uber Eats…read more I ordered wonton soup and chow fun, and had my partner pick it up on his way home. As I was serving the soup, I noticed something unusual. When I picked it out and placed it on the counter, it was clearly a yellow worm. Completely shocked, I contacted Uber Eats customer service. They only offered a refund for the soup, not the chow fun, because the issue wasn't visible in that item. But honestly, how am I supposed to feel comfortable eating anything else from the same order after finding a worm in one dish? I then called the restaurant to report what happened, and instead of addressing the seriousness of the issue, the manager asked what we wanted them to do and even offered free food. That response was disappointing and didn't feel appropriate given the situation. It's unfortunate because we've ordered from here before and the food was good, but after this experience, we couldn't bring ourselves to eat the rest of the meal. Dinner and our appetite was completely ruined and it came with a price.
