It's meh. Usually come here for lunch but my order today was definitely not worth $13 when it doesn't even cover the bottom of the to-go box. Barely any noodles and extra greasy.

I guess they struggle a lot, portion gets much smaller for every visit while the food tastes at par at best. Not coming back...

We ordered two House Specials - Senior Special and the BBQ Chicken and noodle special... $21 and $22 respectively. Food was great. The hubby finished his bbq plate - ever bit gone! It was more than 15 minutes before anyone ever came to our table after we were initially seated. Food took almost 40 minutes to arrive. Then, it all arrived at once, appetizers and entrees. I watched the table next to us, two adults and one child, receive their meal one person at a time over the course of more than 20 minutes. They serve the child first, oddly. Here's the problem. The restaurant was packed although there were only about four families eating at tables. The rest of the dining room was a waiting room. This restaurant is a takeout restaurant not a dine-in restaurant. I watched 23 takeout orders processed during my meal. At one point, more than 2/3 of the tables in the dining room had takeout customers hanging out waiting. Some of the takeout customers waited more than 30 minutes. The takeout customers got continuous service whereas the dine-in customers got service when someone was running past them to bring something to a takeout customer. This restaurant should simply stop doing dine-in service. They can't do it. They fail.

The lobster was extremely dry and tough--completely overcooked to the point where the meat turned stringy and unpleasant. I've had lobster many times, and this texture was completely off. It honestly made me question whether something had gone wrong in the cooking process. What stood out the most was how strange the meat felt throughout. Even the claw meat, which is usually tender and juicy, had a spongy, almost artificial texture that didn't feel like real lobster at all. It was so off-putting that I couldn't bring myself to eat most of it because I wasn't even sure if it was safe. The only somewhat edible part was the tail, and even that was just okay--maybe a 6/10 at best. I understand that lobster is delicate and easy to overcook, but this felt like a major miss. If these are live lobsters as advertised, I'm genuinely confused how the texture ended up this way. Whether it was severely overcooked or something else went wrong, the result was disappointing enough that I couldn't finish the dish. For a dish that should be a highlight, this was a letdown.

We started with the Laos-style Papaya Salad, a salty, spicy, pungent combination of shredded papaya, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, and Thai eggplant mixed with a chili garlic lime dressing and salted crab. From the specials menu, the Khao Soi was a noodle soup made of egg noodles in a creamy coconut curry broth, topped with crispy fried noodles, red onions, lime, and pickled mustard greens, served with a choice of protein (I got the tender boneless chicken thigh). Next, the Fried Chicken and Roti was a huge piece of fried chicken served on top of a thick, flaky, layered roti, along with a fried egg, yellow curry sauce, and cucumber salad. The most comical part of the dish was the fried chicken, which looked impressive, but was composed almost entirely of crunchy batter surrounding a thin layer of meat in the middle. Not sure whether I was disappointed or amused. The Grilled Coconut Salmon was a salmon fillet marinated in coconut milk, lemongrass, onion, curry paste, kaffir lime leaf, and basil, then wrapped and grilled in a banana leaf. The flavorful, aromatic, tender salmon was served with jasmine rice, steamed vegetables, and a strong chili garlic sauce on the side. Finally, the dish I was most excited about trying was the Khan Toke, a huge platter with a ton of different items for sharing. The vegan version came with hung lay curry with vegan meatballs, jackfruit salad (my favorite component), tofu stir-fried with pineapple, nam prik noom (green chili dip), deep-fried puffs filled with curry potato, puffs filled with taro paste, fried tofu, fried tofu skin, fried vegan meat, mixed vegetables with coconut milk (including greens, eggplant, pumpkin), and sticky rice. While the platter definitely looked colorful and impressive, most of the items were disappointingly bland or mediocre in flavor. This one dish was skippable, but everything else we ordered was delicious and came at a good value with friendly service too!

Thankfully, I called the restaurant and they were able to get everything situated and reinstate my reservation. That was a relief. When we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess who asked if we had a reservation and then directed us to our table. I really liked our table location it felt comfortable and perfect for a date night. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and set the tone for a great evening. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. For drinks, I got a Summer Breeze and my girl had the Tai Chi. For appetizers, we ordered the Lady Fingers which I never had before but were really good. I stepped out of my food comfort zone with the cashew chicken and Pad See Ew, but I made the right decision because both dishes were delicious.
