The fajita steak was amazing, all 5 pieces of it! I went here with my newborn and boyfriend and due to the wait being 30 minutes I had to go to the bathroom to change baby once seated, once I arrived the waitress already seemed pissed from the start so I arrive back to the table and get the baby situated and I'm being hovered by the waitress so I tell her my drink order and she asks if we are ready to order. I politely ask for a few minutes, as I'm not even in the seat yet, and once I sit down she leaves to get our drinks and comes back asking if we are ready now and I ask for a few more minutes. We don't see her for 20 minutes, and when she decides to come take our order I'm annoyed and order the fajita steak nachos, can't go wrong with nachos right? WRONG. I wish the server would have warned me I was going to get 5 chips with a piece of steak on each chip. My boyfriends meal was ok. Cold. Which I'm not even sure how it was cold because my food literally took seconds to make as it was 5 CHIPS. Seems I only ordered nacho the least the server could've done was disclose the fact it wasn't your typical pile of nachos. We had empty cups the entire time and the only time we saw her was when she literally dropped our check onto the table and ran off. The food was ok but not worth the price, the service was absolutely horrible and if you have a baby expect people to bump into the high chair because it's over crowded with tables and people. We saw the guacamole bar but that's it. We only saw it. Because it was just two people at our table they didn't bother coming to us. They only went to tables with groups of people. Safe to say never again. read more

Good but kind of on expensive side for Mexican. Everything is made from scratch and because of this the chips were good but the salsa was interesting. Smokey. Not sure I was 100% bought into it. The fajita flank steak was nice but nothing to write home about. read more

The food was great, the service was outstanding but the Manager Chelsea is the rudest person I've meet in a long time. I came in with a large group and granted i did not have a reservation, but the email I received back stated first come first serve. I asked if we could be broken into two groups, she refused. She then stated, "You will not get seats, I promise you". This whole experience felt racially motivated. I had to ask for the GM. She then proceeds to tell me he will tell me the same thing and left. It GM came out and was very nice and accommodating. He did initially state the same concern that they were booked for all reservations, but when I explained, as I did with Chelsea, we were willing to be broken up into groups he said OK. He then took it a step further and found us seating in the bar (self seating area). Like I said in the beginning, the food was great, the waiter was outstanding, just have to get past the rude and embarrassment at the front. Side Note: I thought the service industry would have learned something from chick fil a years ago. read more

I haven't been to an Uncle Julio's in at least 15 years. That being said we waited a few months before trying this one out so they could work out "the bugs". It always looks busy when we drive by and Friday night was no exception although the wait was only 25-30 minutes. The hostess's estimate was accurate, so points there. The restaurant is huge and very well decorated. Unfortunately our service experience was lacking and the meal took way too long. Our server and the manager noticed we didn't finish our meals (we all ate too many chips/salsa waiting) that they proactively comp'd our meal which was a professional gesture. read more

I had the best experience yesterday for my sons 12th birthday dinner. I was unaware that they did not do large parties. I went into a panic and nervous as there were 16 of us including 2 small children. Claudia and her team made it work and made my sons day so special! I'm forever thankful. The customer service was amazing. Our waitress Marissa (sp, hope I spelled it right) was also amazing. The food was delicious and came out quick. Uncle Julio's if Annapolis will always have our business. read more

My girlfriend, my close friend Kevin and myself had lunch here for the first time and we enjoyed everything about the place but especially the service from our Server Imani. She was extremely attentive and well versed on the menu items. I am on a special a new Keto diet and I'm not that knowledgeable about what I can eat, so she made a great suggestion about my meal (taco salad without the shell and corn) and that made my day. My gf and buddy both had margaritas which they enjoyed and they both couldn't stop raving about their steak fajitas. All in all we had a great afternoon enjoying each other's company over a fine meal with fantastic service. We'll be back and we'll request Imani as our server read more

What can I say - food was good but service . . . Not so much. Ordered the Pechuga de Pollo and chicken fajitas. When they arrived, we laughed because they are the exact same meal - same sides - except the fajitas chicken is cut into strips and comes with a small cup of melted Mexican butter. The problem was the fajitas had much less chicken meat and cost a dollar more! Server was MIA so we got another server who told the manager. He was very gracious and said I'll get you more chicken. Great! Problem solved. But when the check came - there was a $9.99 charge for the extra chicken! Server didn't know. Got the charge removed but clearly there is a communication problem - or was it just the server? read more

My recent visit to Uncle Julio's was awesome! Service was friendly and restaurant seemed very clean. The best part of the experience was the food!! Delicious and fresh, would recommend any of their fajitas! Will be back soon. read more

This food is so OVERRATED don't waste your TIME LOL it's so Americanized not Authentic... he'll no.. I just don't understand the hype .

Pricey. Food is good but overpriced. It's a typical place that wants to turn over tables. I get it but then be what you are. A chain. Better call ahead or you will suffer the wait-time of a new restaurant in town. read more

Covid review: I felt very safe and distant from others eating here. The service was also very good. We ordered the guac which they don't make at the table anymore due to covid- but overall everything was good. It's not the best Mexican I've ever had but it's an enjoyable place and can never go wrong with chips and a drink. read more

The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! Emily,v one of our hostesses, was amazing in the handling of our reservation! The food and service were phenomenal! We will be back! read more

Overpriced and underwhelmed! Commercials work! I saw their commercial and was compelled to try. Placed TOGO order and had to wait 1/2 hour...NO PROB. My disappointment was actual food quality. If food is good, the dime is worth it. Maybe this place work for others, but it was a "miss" for me. Wishing them success just the same. My overall cost was $56.84 as follows (w/comments): * Cozumel Shrimp ($15.98) - ONLY 3 BABY SHRIMP PER TACO (3 TACOS TOTAL)! *Beef Fajita ($22.49) *Sm. Guacamole ($7.49) - ABOUT 4 OZ WORTH & BLAND! *Sm. Chicken Tortilla Soup ($5.59) - PROB BEST PART OF MEAL. FLAVORS WERE GOOD! *Chips & Salsa - OILY! read more

Even though the wait can be long the food is BEYOND delicious!!! Especially the table side guacamole! Their food is made from the freshest of foods and the staff is super kind. My family and I went there after we saw Aladdin and we waited 15 minutes to get a seat outside. The outside is super nice and they have outdoor heaters for the winter/fall. read more

I really wanted to come to this restaurant since the grand opening, so I finally got my wish and my girlfriend said let's go. Happy go lucky , we go to the host stand and it was cool until they sat us at a both in the bar. We waited for a server to come and greet us, but the never did. We were just browsing through the menu and still no server. Finally the server comes to the table she didn't give her name or give us her spiel on the restaurant. She really didn't have any recommendations. At this point my expectations was high but to be shot down, I was very disappointed. We decided to leave and go somewhere else. I asked to speak to the manager , she came and we left. Didn't make the experience any better. read more

Smaller menu with the popular choices- fajitas, tacos, etc. (The steak and shrimp fajitas and carnitas tacos were delicious!) I definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan on going on the weekend. It's a pretty big restaurant that accommodates large parties nicely. It's the newest popular spot for birthdays and other celebrations. read more

I'm willing to give them another chance because they are clearly still working the kinks out, but we had a bad experience on our first go at the Annapolis location. While we WERE seated at our reservation time on a Tuesday night, our service was VERY slow (over an hour wait after our order was placed), our server didn't seem to know what she was doing and disappeared for long stretches, the food was mediocre, the restaurant was extremely loud and was too dark, and the A/C was so high that several members of our party had to go outside to warm up. read more

I've been wanting to come in since the opening... Not what I was expecting.... Service was so slow. Chips were brought to the table and 25 minutes later I was able to order a tea.. it wasn't busy, 1 o'clock on a Tuesday. Sat in the bar area and our waiter could pretty much care less about any of our needs. Food came and looked great however was tasteless.... and I mean NO FOAVOR WHAT SO EVER. We got two different fajitas and neither one had any taste. The steak was rubbery and almost inedible. I took it home for my dog because the price I paid for it, I didn't want to throw it away. $16.99 on the lunch menu. Had to add salt and pepper to TEX MEX... WHAT??!!!!!! I won't return because the whole experience wasn't good. Very disappointed. Would not recommend. Sorry. read more

Douche bag bartender with the 12 year old hair cut was not only super aggressive, but rude and condescending. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area where i wont be treated like a piece of shit for asking for a drink at the bar. I pray for him to overcome his misery. The blonde girl with glasses was very nice and the only reason i would go back. read more

So this is our first time at *THIS* location; that being said we've been to Uncle Julio's a few times before this and have had excellent service at a different location. Our wait wasn't long either even though we made a reservation. Definitely would come back to this location. read more

So excited about Uncle Julio's in Annapolis... their skirt steak fajitas are the best, very tender loaded with flavor ! One of the very few restaurants to serve ceviche! The dessert piñata is a must if you have 4+ people... I look forward to the bar staff getting into a groove, they are not very attentive and don't work as a team yet read more

Online Curbside is non existent after they texted me saying we will be outside at 7:46 with your curbside order. I sent a text saying I'm here. They say be there an a moment and still I waited 20mins to see my order at pick up glad I didn't tip you thought you was Chick-fil-A read more

First time to the Uncles place in Annapolis but a long time fan of the chain. Overall, exactly what I expected. Swirls were tasty, albeit weak in the alcohol, the fajitas were delicious (we had chicken for 2 and plenty of food for 2) and my son had the tacos and they did not disappoint. Decent value for the money. One word of caution - wait was super long...so we jumped into the bar and had a table in about 15 minutes. read more

I have been to Uncle Julio's a few times and have always enjoyed the food, but after my experience last night I'm not sure if I will ever be back. I went to eat with a friend and we were seated after a 30 minute wait. Our waiter came over and said that he was in training and that someone else would assist if there were any issues as she was training him. He took our drink orders and brought us chips and salsa. My friend got an lemonade and I got a cherry margarita, which was the special drink of the night. My friend's lemonade came out shortly but not my margarita. After about 10 minutes he came over and said that the special was a raspberry margarita, not cherry and did I want a raspberry margarita. I said yes and also an iced tea (since my mouth was dry from the chips). I told him we also wanted to order appetizers. He said he would be back to take our order for appetizers. We waited for a while and then I got my margarita and he left and then came back a few minutes later to take our appetizer orders. We ordered tableside guacamole and habanero shrimp. The shrimp came out in a few minutes and I asked for my iced tea again. We started eating and the shrimp were good. He came back with the iced tea and we asked about our guacamole. He said oh, it hasn't come out yet and we said no. He left and we continued to eat the shrimp. I went to drink my tea and realized that the cup was warm and there was no ice at all in my tea. By this time we are finished the shrimp and have eaten all of the salsa that came with the chips. While waiting I see woman who was doing the tableside guacamole standing talking to another woman. She comes over to the cart with the guacamole fixings and did something and then left. I finally get the attention of the waiter again and tell him that my tea is without ice and we still haven't gotten our guacamole. He says oh let me check on that and leaves. A few minutes later he come out and goes to the woman who does the guacamole and gives her a ticket and she immediately came over and started make the guacamole. He also brings back my glass of tea with ice this time. He then came and took our orders for dinner. I got the skirt steak fajitas(medium rare) and my friend got a burrito. While eating the guacamole, my friends burrito comes out. I was told my food would be out shortly. We both ordered refills on our drinks. I finished the guacamole and my friend is eating his dinner. I'm waiting and my friend has finished his food, but no fajitas have arrived at the table. I see my waiter assisting other waiters serving food at other tables all over the restaurant. Another waiter sees me without food while my friend is eating and says are you waiting for food. I said yes and he said he would check on it. I finally get the attention of my waiter and he goes to check on my fajitas. He brings me a plate that is not sizzling as normal and I reminded him that we asked for refills on our drinks. I start to look at my food and realize that the meat was all gray and over cooked. Obviously my food had been sitting on the sizzling hot plate and it had overcooked my meat. At this point I was disappointed and just wanted to go, but my friend wanted dessert. When the waiter came back with our drinks I asked for a box for my food to go. I understand that the waiter was training and I expected that it wouldn't be a perfect service, but I thought the woman training him would do a better job of assisting and noticing the issues with service. I shouldn't have to wait so long for my food to the point that my friend was finished. read more

Brand new restaurant where Famous Dave's used to be. They tore down the old structure and built a totally new place which is fantastic. Beautifully furnished and decorated inside. It was PACKED even late on a Sunday night. The hostess told us it would be a 45 min wait for two people. There are a variety of seating options. The side patio as well as the bar and surrounding areas are first come first serve whereas the dining room and the front patio are reservation or wait time. We went to the bar for margaritas and the bartender was very friendly and quick to serve us despite a packed bar. Within 15 mins, our buzzer went off and we had a table. We ordered more margaritas and table side guacamole. They offer a "Fresh Margarita of the Day" and yesterday's was raspberry. Superb!! The table side guacamole is a delicious option. A cart is brought to your table and you see the guacamole and all the fixings prepared right there. Doesn't get fresher than that!! Multiple avocados, salt, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lemon & lime juice. We requested the fresh jalapeños on the side. The portion is large and easily can serve 4 people. We skipped entrees and ordered the Chocolate Lovers Piñata which is their signature item. It took a bit to prepare and is $30, but it is freshly made to order and worth it! Nice item that is a new twist on a birthday celebration. Filled with delicious mini churros and empanadas as well as strawberries! The dipping sauce and the freshly made whipped cream were incredible!! Highly recommend!! It was noisy in the restaurant and difficult to traverse at times, but I'll chalk that up to the fact that it was opening week. The reason I only gave them 4 stars instead of 5 was because of their margaritas. Without a doubt, they were delicious, but the size of the margarita is small and they are very pricey. While waiting at the bar, my husband and I each got 2 margaritas and our check was $57. Outside of that, this restaurant is a refreshing addition to the Annapolis market that has many run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurants. This one sets itself apart! read more

This was our first visit to Uncle Julio's so I don't if they were horribly understaffed or they are always this bad. We were very excited to celebrate my husband's birthday at Uncle Julio's. We were a party of 7 and had a reservation. We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were brought to the table - then everything just went downhill. When our orders were served the server was clueless what each meal was and left it up to us to guess which one belonged to which guest. One of us ordered no beans and extra rice - he got beans and no extra rice. Another guest ordered no beans and extra Mexican rice. They got extra white rice. We brought it to the attention of the server and the waitress. Neither order was corrected. Beware of the grilled fish tacos. The menu says "grilled" tilapia when in fact it is blackened and was way too spicy to eat. The worst part of the evening was when the chocolate pinata was served to the birthday boy. The dirty dinner dishes were not cleared from the table nor were dessert plates provided. So we had a table full of dirty dishes and wooden trays and a $35 dessert that no one could eat. There are so many other Mexican restaurants that are reasonably priced and provide excellent service. We will never return to the overpriced, poor service Uncle Julio's. read more

I enjoy Uncle Julio's and the worker were attentive and responsive, thanks for a great lunch experience.

The service was excellent - the chips and salsa was so good. The cheese quesadillas were terrible - try chopping the vegetables and onions - try sautéing them - threw in a ton a of raw onions and a scant amount of peppers and a little cheese - worst meal ever! read more

WORST PLACE EVER! I came here 2 days ago when I was in town with my god son I ordered the steak nachos DISGUSTING! This restaurant has decent food, but the salsa that comes with the chips is water thin and just as tasteless. The chips are thin and really good. What really sucked about my visit was the El Jefe Margarita. The server said it was spicy, smoky, a fan favorite. She LIED. I paid $14 for Margarita mix topped with three jalapeño slices. I've been to this location many times. However yesterday, my pick up order was awful. The quesadilla was pre cooked. The quesadillas were soggy and stuck together with very little pulled chicken, onions or tomatoes. There was a large hard piece of guacamole, not mixed together, in the tray next to my sour cream. Also, I ordered a large side of guacamole. The gaucamole was brown and not the best. read more
