Today was my 1st time coming here and the food was amazing! Chris the server was AMAZING!!! He's customer service skill was on point, after he took our order food came out right away and he made sure that we wAs good. I will be back.... great experience for the 1st time read more

The food is good but overpriced. I had a steak fajita but for the price, I could have gone to Baja Fresh. I am sure the steak quality is superior but for those prices a Steak dinner would've been better read more

Uncle Julio's is a very sought out place in Annapolis, yes it's very busy but if you can spare some waiting time you will have the best food of your life! Also, really good service read more

Love the food - generous portions - super tasty. I sat outside and would recommend against it. The bugs were super annoying and definitely took away from the enjoyment. It felt like a healthier version of Chevy's... read more

It was my first time eating at an Uncle Julio's and the hype I had heard was right on. From the greeting that made me feel so welcome (am pretty sure her name was Emily-loved her!) to the friendly and helpful wait staff. The food was great! Our family had a wonderful time! read more

Great food, Wonderful staff. Four stars is because of the price, it is a bit pricey but great place for date night. Must try the frozen margaritas! read more

We love Uncle Julio's!! Perfect place to go for a high energy fun night with friends or family!! The staff is amazing (shoutout to the hostesses -- SO funny and entertaining during the wait) and everyone is just there to have a good time and the food and drinks are fabulous! The table side guacamole is my favorite!! It should be noted that reservations are the way to go at this restaurant. We waited, but there was a 30 minute wait. We were told by hostesses Emily and Alaysia that the restaurant takes reservations and that they should be booked about a week in advance! read more

Our reservations were honored ahead of schedule. We were greeted with a happy Birthday greeting to me! Our waiter James was awesome! Great customer service! The restaurant manager, Al, was also awesome! Thanks for the piñata! Our food was delicious! A great 52nd birthday celebration for me! We'll be back! read more

Menu is far too limited for a Tex mex place. When I asked why they don't have burritos she said that fajitas are like make your own so we don't have them. Ha! Ok. So you better like enchiladas and fajitas. My corn tacos were awful. Dry meat that was over cooked. Never again. read more

I've been to the new Annapolis restaurant twice since they opened -- just over a week ago! We love it! Our first visit was right as they were opening. Our hostess Emily was welcoming and friendly and we were seated shortly after our reservation time. Our waiter Chris could not have been more attentive -- he gave us recommendations and was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. We had the table side guac and it was amazing (the same woman made the table side quac for us both times, wish I knew her name so I could give her kudos!). Topped it off with the chocolate pinata -- so much fun and YUMMY! Already made reservations to go back again tonight! We will be regulars, for sure! read more

Today I ordered Chicken tortilla soup to go and I am highly disappointed. There was absolutely no chicken in the soup. No other ingredients outside of broth and maybe celery. There was no corn, no beans, no tomatoes; there were no typical chicken tortilla soup ingredients. This will be my first and last time ordering food from this place. I only give it a star because of the side of chips that I received. So basically I paid $10 for a side of chips...not cool. read more

Uncle Julio's Annapolis - Mexican Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

Not sure what I was expecting, but authentic it is not. I am from Santa Fe and the only plus of my Coronado Platter Combination was the salsa. It was all downhill from there. Disappointing for this New Mexico boy. read more

This was the first time my husband and I went to uncle Julio's. It was the best Mexican restaurant we having ever been to. We had the fajitas and they were delicious. The service was excellent!!! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!! read more

I have wanted to try Uncle Julios for a while and when this place opened in Annapolis I was thrilled!! The commercials running just look FABULOUS! I called to make a reservation..Was told I needed to speak with a manager to make this reservation.....although I called during working hours...I was put on hold for 34 mins! Which is a crazy amount of time .....anytime of the day! I wasn't calling the DMV or even Social Security. After holding for 34 mins, a "manager" asked how many will be in my party...I said 9 adults and 1 child 18 months so I would need a highchair for 5 pm December 23rd. The manager told me they could NOT accommodate a party of 10. Shocked...I asked if I would just walk in without a reservation if this would also happen?? He stated YES....Uncle Julios does not take reservations for large parties because they would have to "hold" tables. read more

Uncle Julio's grand opening week and the place was busy on a Thursday - we had a family of four and there was a 15 minute wait at 6:00 PM - that was great. The Hostess, Emily, was great because we needed a table and she set us up. Our wait staff Chris was energetic, chips and salsa to get us started and orders in. Drinks, appetizers and dinners were at our table in 5, 10 and 20 minutes each for a busy place. Prices are good and we had a great time, just be prepared because the setting is loud. read more

The best margaritas and guac I've ever had at a chain! Originally I wanted to visit after seeing the reaction of some of my favorite reality stars after drinking the margaritas. So when I finally decided to visit almost three years later I was not disappointed. I've traveled 4 hours twice just to visit Uncle Julio's. I do have family in the Maryland area so of course it wasn't just for Uncle Julio's but it definitely had a lot to do with my visit. Again the margaritas are AMAZE but the food is even better! I had the chicken fajitas and the table side guac which was to die for. I left feeling very full and very satisfied. The staff was very attentive and some of the sweetest. I will be returning when I visit my family for Labor Day weekend. read more

Awesome fajitas. The Chipotle chicken with honey was the bomb. And a ton of food to boot. I had a a huge amount of leftovers for lunch the next day. Our table split the chocolate piñata. It was delicious, though a little pricey. read more

Have been to Uncle Julio's a few times. Lunchtime is far better than the evening rush when it is very busy. Food is good and moderately priced for the area. The homemade guacamole is very good. Staff is efficient, but at high demand times seems like they need more waitstaff. Drinks are a bit pricey. read more

We came in on a Friday night with a party of 12/13 ppl. Everyone knows that this is the place to come to celebrate! We were all super excited to celebrate multiple birthdays here. My mom has been waiting and talking about this place for months, so I wanted to make sure she had an excellent experience! When we arrived we were told it would be a wait of 2/3 hours, but there was first come first serve seating available. We decided we would wait for whichever became available first. Fast forward an hour or so and we FINALLY got seated! The wait was long, but made a lot more comfortable because the manager on duty was AWESOME! He checked on our group regularly and even gifted us a chocolate pinata. Please check out Lou the next time you are there..he was AMAZING!!!! read more

Was in Annapolis and wanted to try a new place, stop in and glad I did. The food was amazing tasted fresh. The Taco Bar was amazing. Our waitress Alandra was really nice and quick with everything. Drinks came out fast and never had to ask for refills, she just did it. An amazing waitress. Will definitely come back for more and ask to be sat in her section again. She sold us on this place. read more

Uncle Julio's Annapolis - Taco Bar - Mexican Near Me - Annapolis, Maryland

The chips and salsa are awesome here! I always get the Guadalajara platter and it's easily enough for two people. The margaritas are great too...especially the spicy one. 2 of those and I feel great! The vibe inside is nice too! read more

This restaurant started out so good when they first opened and since then its just been a steady decline, now to the point of never returning again. I have been ordering carry out regularly since the pandemic started. My most recent visit proved this place to be nothing better than taco bell (which I would have rather had). I ordered the vegetable quesadillas with a side of refriend beans and my boyfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas. My "refried" beans were a hard uncooked extremely salty slop, the so called guacamole was literally and I kid you not- just mashed avocado- not even salted might I add. My boyfriends enchiladas were cold and flavorless. The food has just become way too inconsistent and mediocre to justify the price of it. Not to mention the small inconsistent portions. Disappointing. read more

This food can be found anywhere in Annapolis. Service is a little slow. If you don't stand out in the crowd you won't be in the crowd very long. read more

We love Uncle Julio's. The fajitas are delicious and never disappoint. The food is always hot and fresh. The servers are very good. Please bring back the tamales!! read more

I ordered curbside and when you get there you must text them that you are at the restaurant and your curbside parking spot number . So i do that and it said we will be out shortly. My pick up time was at 7:46p.m. And nobody ever came outside waited a whole 20 minutes still nobody came outside. Until i went inside and seen my order just sitting on the counter with the time on it . If you have curbside you should actually honor it . RESPECTFULLY!! read more

Amazing food and ambiance and service. It's a high end Mexican restaurant so be ready to PAY for your food... but it's excellent for special occasions if regular visits would be unaffordable. read more

*****Long OVERDUE Review*****Went there Saturday, Oct 6, 2018 to celebrate a friend Birthday. One of the Bartenders were not nice, extremely rude. It was quite busy there and so we decided to have a drink by the Bar until our table was ready, when we got to the Bar we noticed there were two seats unoccupied so we proceeded to sit, the Bartender immediately stopped us and told us someone was sitting there and they would be back, that we were to sit at the end of the Bar where there was one stool. Ok, so after he told us that he walked away, I was a bit astonished at his attitude, however, because I was celebrating my friends Birthday I decided to not let him spoil our evening. I reached for a Bar Drink Menu as one was never offered, still standing next to the unoccupied stools for what seemed to be over 10 minutes and still no one showed up for the seat as the Bartender said, so we decided to sit there. After sitting down, I told the Bartender, the one stool that was at the end of the Bar because it was only one person, after they returned they could sit there as we would be occupying these two, as he had told us earlier it was only one person. He didn't take likely to me saying that, he followed by removing the chips and salsa that he had sat down for the person he said would be coming back, NEVER offered us chips and salsa and never asked if we wanted to order until I addressed him that I would like to order......AGAIN, I tried to be cordial as I didn't want to spoil my friends Birthday. He brought the drinks and then another Bartender offered us chips and salsa. As a Bartender if someone leaves the Bar on a busy evening for over 5 minutes, don't have a tab open or any surety of returning, why get an attitude if someone else wants to occupy the seat??!! We got our table, had dinner, I ordered the Piñata as a surprise for my friends Birthday celebration. Our Server was nice, I forgot her name, she made a big difference, however, I don't think I would go back to this restaurant even though the food was good.... Great Customer Service whenever I dine means a lot to me, especially whenever I am spending my hard earned money. read more

See all

I usually like this place but I'm never eating at this location again (maybe that's what they want)... first, I was surprised that there was not many hispanic people working as waitresses and waiters (at least from what I could see)! We were in a Mexican restaurant so I expected to see more of its cultural people. No Hispanic waiters or waitresses??! Maybe they were in the BACK cooking??? I expected to see their pretty/handsome brown, cultural and smiling and WELCOMING faces since it IS a Mexican restaurant. Anyway, my party, 5 adults and 2 kids, celebrated my birthday and we had food some drinks. We hadn't seen each other as a family in a long time due to Covid so we were excited. A white lady who works there came over to our table, and although pleasant, put her fingers to her lips to shush me. I mean, I'm spending over $300 here and I can't laugh and enjoy my family????? We WERE in the BACK and alone listening to non-Mexican music in a MEXICAN restaurant!!!! Needless to say, my birthday wasn't spoiled because I had my family there and two great drinks but the atmosphere sucks!!!! I will carry my family over to El Paso Mexican Restaurant in Alexandria, VA where the food is cheaper, tastes better, and has more cultural, authentic people working there where the atmosphere is more enjoyable AND I CAN LISTEN TO MEXICAN MUSIC! Plus, I've never been shushed before ESPECIALLY GIVEN I AM SPENDING MY MONEY...I was in no way out of control -- especially at my age. I would rather spend my money elsewhere. All, please see management's comments below.... it's the customers eyes that count!!! Choose elsewhere folks with management that cares! Go to El Paso's! read more

Wary because it's a chain, but wow, very impressed with the service, menu and food quality! We'll be back. BJG in Annapolis.

Food was great. Fresh table side guacamole. Margaritas were delicious and well poured. They had a chocolate pinata for our birthday guest. The food came out fairly quick for being as busy as they were. Server kept checking on us and making sure we had what we needed. Even caught a kitchen mistake before we did. My only concern was trying to get a reservation. The online reservation wouldn't allow for a reservation over 4 people. When we arrived to get a table for 7 people at 4pm...we were told they could seat us together at 930pm... or two tables "close to each other" when available. 20 minutes later we have two tables, about 50feet between the tables. Not close at All.we explain to the waitress how our two tables are together, she pulls up another table and fixes it. Thanks to Vanessa we were able to eat together. But what bothered me is I watched multiple tables stay empty for almost 45 minutes. Line out the door and they had almost 5 tables empty. read more

It's a new establishment so I came in giving the establishment the benefit of the doubt. Bartenders appeared to be brand new and non personable. Food was overpriced for a lunch menu and delivered luke - warm. I don't understand the hype. It's new and exciting, that's it. It's a chain restaurant, I assume everything food wise is shipped to them and warmed up. It tastes that way at least. There is a taco spot in DTA that deserves your business over this trash. read more

We were looking forward to trying this place, but we won't be going back. After waiting 1.5 hours for a table (despite there being empty tables throughout the restaurant), the hostess finally confessed that due to a party, they just didn't have enough servers to take care of the regular customers. When we finally got seated, no one came to take our order. We asked to speak to a manager - no one came by. So we left. All I ask is that you be up front with people. Say you're closed for a private party if that's really what's going on. PS - the food is over priced for what's essentially Chipotle type menu options. read more

Had a WONDERFUL experience at this new UJ location. The restaurant was jam packed but we were able to be seated right away out on the patio. The hostess brought us a sling for our infant's car seat and helped us set it up. Our waiter was pleasant and helpful and greeted us immediately to take our order. Our appetizer was out in minutes and our fajitas entree shortly followed. We were in and out in about 30-40 minutes, which is a blessing when traveling with a baby. We couldn't believe how fast the service was, considering how busy it was that night. The food was delicious as usual. Great job! read more

We stopped in today for lunch. I asked if they were running a wait. The hostess said they were running a 20 minute wait. I asked if I could be added to the wait list. She then asked how many people were in my party. I said 5. She then said she can seat me at 8:30 pm! Wait what? She said she can't accommodate a part that large. Smh! It's 1pm. read more

Visited on a Sunday afternoon when the restaurant was very busy. This location is new to ANNAPOLIS so we had to try it. We had table side guacamole. It was delicious. I had the steak and chicken fajitas. They were also delish. My drink of choice was the Swirl Margarita with an extra shot of Grand Mariner. It was so good that I had two. We sat in the bar area and service was great. Will definitely visit again. read more

Lunch today at 11:30. Restaurant is beautiful, that's about as nice as I can be. Hostess was annoying, server took drink order, after 10 mins of eating chips and salsa that were greasy and had too much black pepper I finally got some water. Lunch quesadilla served, looks like a child's lunch, no fruit served, as per menu, I have to ask for it, along with the margarita I ordered 20 mins ago. I complained about the size of my lunch and the service, the corporate manager and in house manager both stop by to discuss. They comp'd my meal which is nice but it doesn't change the fact my chicken quesadilla could maybe feed a 8 yr old, was bland, lacking in enough cheese to actually hold it together and the tortilla was undercooked, barely warm. I left hungry and frustrated. Food isn't good enough to justify the price point, much better options available. read more

Chira Davis 3 reviews just nowNEW This was my first visit to this restaurant. I wanted to try something out of my food wheel house. I chose Uncle Julios in Annapolis. First impression the hostesses were very frustrated and not very friendly. We were seated at a booth which was obviously too small for an average size person. The young lady who seated us did not even see that those seats were not proper nor did she care. The restaurant was super crowded we had a 6:30 reservation although were were maybe 4 minutes late due to parking. Our waiter was super nice but very much overloaded with tables because we hardly saw him. He did have someone come and check on us at a point. Now the food! I was expecting something spectacular. We all ordered fajitas the food was very, very. very, bland. I love green peppers I had 2 in the mix of onion red and green peppers. The shrimp were dry and the chicken was dry but ok. I was looking forward to eating out at a new and different restaurant with different food. The portions were very scarce (I'm not a big eater) but the quality and portions were subpar. The prices for what we received was less than adequate. I do realize the price for everything has gone up however the prices in no way matched what we were served. If I were to ever visit Uncle Julio again they have got to really put in so serious effort to earn my time and money. The high light was the coke soda that was on point! Uncle Julios I hope things change; first impressions are lasting impressions!!!!! Sincerely Ms.Very Underwhelmed. read more

This place is still crazy busy months after opening! But the food is good, drinks are better, and the service at the bar is always great. My favorite is the skinny guava marg - it tastes fresh and not at all like fake sugar. All of the food is fantastic, you can't go wrong with any choice! read more
