I didn't even want to give it one star, but that's as low as you can choose. For starters, my sister and I arrived at 2:40 this afternoon. There were 5/6 tables with customers at that time. I asked to be seated away from others over on the side and was told no because they didn't have a server for that area. Looked around and asked about another table and was told that there wasn't a server for that area also. We proceed to look over menu and order. We both ordered the brisket with diff sides. The brisket had no flavor except for the "smoking" process flavor. That's it !! Didn't taste like meat let alone beef. Sure it was soft and juicy, but it tasted like meat product made from soybeans or tofu. Plain Jane smoke taste only. French fries were a joke. Soggy and very limp. 4" French fry when picked up by the end just dropped. I'm amazed they were hot, probably from microwave. French fries are supposed be little crispy not flimsy. As for baked beans, nasty. Yes, nasty and passed on after 2 bites. Sure they had pieces of smoked or grilled trimmings from meat in them but they were plain nasty and burned taste. The beverage plastic glasses had a dishwasher taste to them as if the cleaner or soap wasn't completely rinsed off along with strong taste of plastic. The corn muffin definitely needs work also. The greens were so so. The coleslaw had been in fridge too long uncovered cuz it had fridge taste. Now the server Brittany did her job and was tipped accordingly. Not her fault at all. I purposely put a hold on going when it first opened thinking I would give them time to work the bugs out of a new business as I followed them on Facebook. I'm sorry but you aren't serving real Southern BBQ. Far from it. That $44 you got from me was the last $$$ that I'll give you. I had my hopes up for your restaurant over the last few months as the public waited on you to open. Upon leaving we seemed to walk out to parking lot with 2 other tables. I had the beef ribs. They had no smoke taste. They were way overcooked. The membrane on the back was still on which was way gross. I would not be going back. When you here that the baby backs were coming off the smoker in 45 minutes you think you would smell smoke. I don't think they smoke them on site. read more

We went on a Sunday and sat at the bar. The server immediately apologized that they could only serve wine and beer, as they have no Sunday liquor license. No big deal to us, we were planning to have beer anyway. She brought samples of three items for us to try to help us decide before we chose ribs for my husband and chicken for me. I selected jalapeno mac and cheese (after I was convinced it was NOT terribly hot) and cole slaw for my sides. My husband chose beans and jambalaya rice. All meals come with a giant corn muffin, drizzled with a sweet sauce. The food was hot and delicious. Our ONLY complaint was that the side dishes could have been a bit larger. We would have gladly paid an up charge if there had been a choice for a large portion. I always check out the restrooms, and found the ladies room to be clean and roomy. My husband said the mens room was also tidy. The outhouse decor in the restrooms was cute. read more

Uncle Bo's is a new restaurant. They have huge slow cookers outside the restaurant where they slow cook the meats a day ahead of time. I talked to one of the employees the day before opening and he explained... thus the slo cooking required for their meat entrees. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was good. Not A plus due to some large chunks of pork not pulled in my sandwich and their wasn't a zing to the taste... maybe because I ordered the bourbon flavored barbecue? The French fries were on the dark side but still OK. The wait staff most accommodating and friendly and the decor very nice. For 2 sandwich meals the cost $25.00. If your a real carnivore, and strict BBQ critic, this is the place! No joke you can't get meat this good anywhere in northeast Ohio. The brisket alone is worth a half day car ride. Out of all the popular places in the area this one kills it. Perfect amount of smoke, all the meat was juicy, the brisket literally melts in your mouth. The sides are also incredible. He does the ultra fine chop slaw, and really cheesy Mac. In my opinion all the flavors were balanced perfect, the two sauces were perfect. Can't say enough about it. So, I am not writing at all about the food, as I will do a separate review for that but I wanted just to do a shout out to an amazing bunch of restaurant folks who went out of their way in a non-restaurant context. Which is to say, I had locked my bicycle outside the restaurant and when I was leaving I was turned around and thought my bike was stolen. The restaurant employees weren't just concerned; they got Uncle Bo himself who came out and walked the parking lot to understand what had happened but also offered me his expensive bike until I had sorted out what had happened. No questions asked, no collateral. His staff was out concerned and checking security camera. But for a quick restaurant reference, my every minute in the restaurant before my apparent bike loss was met with generous, gracious queries about my dining experience. In short, Uncle Bo clearly models a "customer first" mentality that I have rarely experienced at such a kind gracious level before. So for that alone, I want to eat here often! read more

Absolutely love the brisket sandwich! The staff is always extremely friendly and the food is good. My only complaint is that I wish it was open every day but then I may be 500lbs lol. Well, I will start by saying I probably owe them another chance. The big negative for me was eating off paper with plastic utensils. I can hardly remember anything else about my experience there. Good but was a little dry so we both asked for a little extra sauce well here they go sir there will be an extra .50 cents per cup. Went here last night with my wife. We arrived around 430 so pretty early. We were seated right away and our waitress showed up right away. Asked if we had been there before which was a no. She gave us the low down on the menu and specials, took our drink order and gave us sometime to look at menus. She came back twice more, very patient with us, asking if we had any questions. Placed order and 10-15 minutes later we got our food. I had bbq spare ribs with jambalaya rice and collard greens. The rice was very good, spicy but not overpowering. It seemed a little cool though. The collard greens were very good, nice ham and smoke flavor without being soggy. The ribs were excellent and per menu didn't need bbq sauce. Nice and meaty, good smoky flavor and spice mixture. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich which she said was a little dry but a good flavor. Her sides were the Mac and cheese and cole slaw. She said they were good too. Will go back but gave them four stars due to cold rice and maybe dry pork. read more

I was excited to try this place. We really need some good restaurants in this town. It was nicely done inside so I was hopeful the food and service would be too. I ordered the brisket sandwich which is always long strips of smoked beef everytime I've had it. What I received was not beef brisket it was pulled beef with no smoke flavor. It seemed undercooked as well. I asked for the brisket with BBQ sauce and it came with barely any at all on it. I asked for some more BBQ sauce from a guy who seemed like the manager and then the waitress came over and acted very unprofessional because I asked for more sauce like it was a huge hassel and walked off saying "whatever" under her breath. Horrible customer service! For a new restaurant, you should try harder to make a good first impression. Sadly, I left very disappointed and won't be back. read more

AMAZING BBQ! AMAZING Sides! AMAZING Service! Amazing Specialty drinks! Went very late to celebrate a friends B'day. He tried a few different beers and finally chose one! Staff was Super Friendly even though we got there late, didn't rush us out. Three of us had the brisket sandwich with BBQ sauce, ( we ordered it Fatty), two had pork ribs n brisket combo we ordered lots of sides n shared bacon/jalapeño Mac n Cheese was sooooo good. Cole slaw and baked potatoes. Needless to say we took lots back to our hotel in Laughlin. We had a choice of lots of restaurants that night. I'm so glad we chose Uncle Bo's! Yummy....the bun is amazing. The Kaiser bun with crunchy on the outside and then they put a bit of butter on the inside ..throw it on the grill and it gives another toasty, creative crunch on the inside of the bun. On the top of the pulled pork they have something called onion straws. Onion straws are not like the fried onions that you've had... these are very, very little small sprigs of onion deep fried, and that adds another crunch to this sandwich. They have two types of barbecue sauce which we prefer the original. And they have coleslaw that has a kick of horseradish that is pure genius. This place is only open 4 days a week. The other three days they cook and prepare the meat, and they do an amazing job. I highly recommend this place if you come here to visit because most places in Bullhead City you could grow grass waiting for your food to get to you, but this was fast service, good service, and the food is a wonderful payoff for your tastebuds. read more

By far the BEST BBQ I have ever had! We stumbled across this place because of a guy spinning a sign on the side of the road. I am so happy I took a chance. Between the great food, great prices, and great service I have to say I am impressed. Our first visit there the owner came out with a bunch of different samples for us to try. He made it a point to introduce himself and ensure we were satisfied. We ordered the smoked sausage and the two meat combo. It was the best thing I have ever had. We went there on Wednesday not realizing that it was a soft opening to debug the food and service. I think they got it right. The bbq was fan-freaking-tastic. I had the baby back ribs, fall off the bone tender and perfectly smoked. Bf had the bbq chicken and bbq brisket. Of course, I snagged a couple tasty bites from him too. The chicken was smoked, moist and tender and with the mildly spiced bbq sauce, it was flavorful and worth going back for. The smoked brisket was a revelation. Usually this cut is tough, either a little or a lot tough but definately a toothy workout. BUT Not at Uncle Bo's. This brisket is tender, tasty and tempting. And I am tempted to go back and get a Lot more. Really happy with this place and I hope they stay as delicious as it is now. The decor is fresh, comfortable and homey. True professional BBQ with some of the most tender and best tasting smoked BBQ meats you will find west of Texas. The meat falls off the bone on the ribs and chicken and the Brisket falls apart as it's so tender and well cooked.I recently took a trip to sample BBQ in Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee and they have nothing on Uncle Bo's Slow-n-Low. Uncle Bo's is a great addition to the area for a yummy consistent place to eat. Open Thurs through Sunday's and the amazing smoker smell as you approach gets your tastebuds dancing in your mouth. We drive out from California every summer and are bummed that we hadn't discovered this place sooner! We were greeted outside the restaurant by a man working the barbecue-he sped up just so he could open the door for us which made a great start for all of us. The restaurant is clean and original with a lot of character. Our server, Daniel, was accommodating and genuine with us. The food was authentic and a great price! we were there on friday 4/5 at 2:30 people were leaving not paying their bill waitress had to run them down. asked about the sides they were out of mash potatoes no hush puppies and no catfish dinners. so what will they do for the rest of the night? and the waitress even told us it was to much money for a bake potato at over $5.00. i have not idea the great comments people are giving for this place they most not get out to much. read more
