Grabbed a discount coupon for Hatfield's Goode Grub so I had $30 to spend and so I stopped by mid afternoon on a Friday. Hatfield's is located in a strip of shops on Lorain Road in Kamm's Corners. The restaurant has a small patio out front, a nice old school bar along one wall, a bunch of tables and an open kitchen in the back. The decor is casual eclectic Americana. Nice and dark with a comfortable feel. The menu is definitely Southern BBQ influenced, one side is breakfast, which has been rated as one of the best in Cleveland. The lunch and dinner menu is straight up comfort food. As a pescetarian the only entree is the Catfish and Grits, so I got an order to eat and one to go for the next day. The Catfish and Grits came out looking and smelling great. The catfish is smaller nuggets heaped on top of a generous portion of creamy grits with a great sauce, cheese and fresh jalapeno slices. The dish was delicious, perfectly spiced with just the right amount of heat. The jalapeno slices provided spiciness and a welcome crunch to the dish. I was so happy that I not only got to try the dish, but even better is having a second helping for the next day. Service was attentive and friendly, the chef/owner came out of the kitchen to check on the few guests in the dining room, always welcome to see a guy who cares about his restaurant and is proud of the food he is putting out. I would suggest giving Hatfield's Goode Grub a try, if the rest of the menu lives up to the Catfish and Grits it is one of the better local casual restaurants. Well worth your time. read more

After years of saying "we should go" today, my husband and I decided to go here for breakfast. Boy am I glad we did and boy am I glad I ordered how I did... I have never been to this place nor have I ever gone to a sitdown barbecue place. Since I was really overwhelmed I asked the waitress to let the chef pick. I'm so glad I did. I have never ordered hash and he chose it. Really really good! He also chose my favorite breakfast meat and eggs the way I like em! When friends and family from out of town visit, Hatfield's is one of the first places I take them to eat. Shout out to Boogie C., the server I had at my most recent visit (Sunday 4/19)! I hope I have her name correct, Boogie said she is a server in training, but I wouldn't know if nothing was said! She was friendly, attentive, and confident! Not sure how I haven't reviewed here yet. It is soooo good. Best burgers I've had. This is the chili smothered fry burger. Chili was so good. Enough on there to turn my fries into chili fries. We had the food truck out at our neighborhood. It was a huge hit and the food was delicious. The All In Burger - cooked medium with lots of flavor. Topped with pulled pork and cheese. I will have to say that my first encounter with Hatfields was actually over the summer and they had an amazing dish; Smother It, a delicious starter that is loaded tater tots. This was on the food truck, but then not at the restaurant. The tots are much better choice instead of fries (I know this may be a personal preference). You also have the option for crackling or Mac n Cheese. The restaurant service was friendly and fast, the restaurant itself clean and well lit. The atmosphere is quiet and old-timely feeling, for the most part. We had no trouble getting a seat and we played a game while we waited. Board and card games are available as options to play at your table. The food was spot-on pub fairs. Nothing fancy or flashy but the taste was right where I needed it to be. We got the Philly that Kim Made (sans mushrooms) and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were very filling and tasty. I recommend going back, for sure. read more

Loved the unique atmosphere The place is an electric mix of tables and games. Great spot if you are looking for a unique experience to get food and hang out. Everything from pinball to fooseball. We ordered the two samplers on the appetizer menu to try a taste of everything they had. The meat was good but the sides are very sweet. Everything from beans to chili. They have 5 in house sauces to taste. The food was not my favorite. I would suggest a sandwich or a burger off the menu instead. Parking can be tricky too since it is metered or you find another area. Watch where you park since tow trucks are driving around trying to bust people. read more

Not a fan of all of them, but that is a personal taste thing, not a preparation thing. Latest visit involved a few co-workers during the lunch hour. Decided to give one of their burgers a try since i'd heard pretty good things about this dish. I chose the Fued 'n Burger...it was cooked to a perfect medium rare (which I selected) and was piled high with bacon, cheddar cheese, tangy cole slaw, caramelized onions and an oozey-gooey over-easy fried egg. The tang of the slaw along with the pungent onion flavor made for a great bite after bite. The fresh cut fries were not as crisp as I'd like, but still tasty either dipped in their dill sauce (try it!) or with a slightly spicy malted vinegar they had on the table. Thank you for actually fully cooking the veggies in the veggie omelet! Sooo many places undercooked the onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. The eggs were fluffy and cooked to perfection so the omelet was flavorful, delicious ... and their potatoes are to die for! Went here after seeing several New Day Cleveland appearances. The space in Kamms Corner was immediately familiar as a complete reno of the old music club, Paddy Rock. Sprawling and eclectic decor. Convenient flourishes like self-serve water/coffee. Meat takes center stage here, with BBQ & burgers not disappointing. Pulled pork was lush, although no sauce and none even offered...weird. Burgs were two-fisted with great char, but both at our table were well done instead of the requested medium. Nice selection of sides, but 3 bucks extra with sandwiches. At 15 buck price points, paying extra for a side seems a gouge here. Service was pleasant, but only one server who juggled everyone until finally getting some help late in our stay. Overall a good experience but loose ends can be improved upon. read more

Looking at the kitchen I noticed fresh potato's being cut for the hash browns and fries. Hatfields was a true 5 star experience. The decor and atmosphere fit with the food. It's so important for the neighborhood that we support local independents. The surrounding suburbs of Rocky River, Fairview, and Lakewood are greatly affected by what happens in West Park (neighborhood in Cleveland). It's just a two minute drive to Hatfields from my home in the Southern part of Rocky River. I WOULD PARK ON THE SIDE STREETS BEHIND THE RESTAURANT, it is very tough to back out if you park right on Lorain. The east side of the restaurant functions like a Panera/coffee shop. The west side functions like a conventional restaurant with wait staff. read more

I was walking around my local westpark area, when my friend suggested I try this amazing southeren restuarant. Man were we suprised, the best part about walking in there is honestly the display of games and decorations, after that the experience went way downhill from there. The service was mediocre about 25 minutes on my food, and all we ordered was Ribs, and as soon as we bit into them we immediately regretted that decision. The Ribs we indulged in were so overdone that no amount of there signature barbeque sauce could save them. I had been hearing alot about this place recently and even seen that it was even in the voting for best restaurant in Westpark, to bad i didnt vote.... overall save your money theres plenty of better restaurants in the area. read more

We had wonderful food and service. I loved the unique menu. My favorite part was that they have an appetizer that is small portions of all their side items. It was great to get to try everything.
