We had a great experience with Blue Moon all the way from beginning to end. Because of the detailed presentation and price estimation given by John Virissimo, my wife and I decided to go with them. The project manager, Rick Higareda, was very helpful and instrumental in getting the job completed to our satisfaction and we were very happy with the tile and plaster options offered by Blue Moon. What really made us feel good about our decision to go with them was, a few months after the job was completed, there was a small issue and John personally handled it the very next day which is very rare, these days. Our pool has never looked better! We highly recommend Blue Moon Pools.

They did a pressure check for me and gave me a bid that involved moving the plumbing for the pump and the gas line for the heater a few feet. I was happy with them and I really liked the owner. It's been a few years because I ran it into some greater financial priorities. But I recently contacted them and they declined to do the work for me. I asked why and they said they're not doing projects like that. However, I would've been coming to them when it's time to plaster my pool and do the coping and tile. But now I will seek elsewhere. I just don't like that kind of way of doing business.

They auto charged whatever they wanted on our card. 6 months ago we hired Simpson Pool after they came out to the house house, looked at our pool and quoted us $190 per month for weekly cleaning. Our first bill was $263. No warning about the price hike! We asked why the invoice was higher than the quote and they said "it's taking longer than we thought". Then they tell me if I want to get the price down to what I was quoted, we can buy a pool vacuum from them since ours "wasn't working." We agreed, weren't given any options for the vacuum and received a charge of nearly $600. Our bill never went down. When I asked they were super aggressive and rude in their emails, telling me I am wrong, telling me to "look at my invoice again because they are charging $255, not $263 (completely false and irrelevant)." The rude and dishonest interactions with this company and their auto charging whatever they decide deserves this review so hopefully no one else will experience this. To top it all off, after I put my foot down and didn't respond to another $577 charge for equipment (because ours is only 2yrs old) .. they sent me a generic email saying "we are no longer servicing your pool because we are condensing our routes." What a blessing that its over now and our new guy is great and charges $160 per month. Run as fast as you can from this company!

He set his price and I did not try to negotiate. I quickly learned that he does C- work at best. The property is an AirBnB and we have multiple exterior cameras so I see him arrive and leave. He rarely stays more than 4-5 minutes (just like another 1 star review on here mentioned). Often times there is still grim at the water level, cloudy water, hair, etc. His schedule is all over the place and some weeks doesn't even show up! He's very inconsistent both in his quality and schedule! I personally care for the jacuzzi in between guest stays and when Jeff would come. I drain and refill 1-3 times a month. I only needed Jeff to do minimal work but he couldn't even do that. He blames my guests and takes zero accountability. Jeff 'serviced' my spa yesterday and when I got to the property this morning, this is how it looked (see attached pics). When I sent him pics this was (verbatim) his response to me: 'No you pay me $xxx to balance chemicals if you want weekly draining that's about $600/ month' 'How long do you think it takes to add chlorine bro' 'That's fine i really don't give a shit about a spa in san ysidro and most pool guys won't as well due to traffic' 'I really dont give a shit youre a hanger in my route and if you want the professional detailing service weekly you're going to pay more than $xxx per month' 'And if i havent been clear i dont give a shit about your property' I was very professional and polite to Jeff with every interaction. He responds with excuses and never any accountability for him not showing up or leaving the spa looking cloudy and not cleaned. Today was the last straw when he started cursing, said he 'doesn't give a shit about a house in San Ysidro' and I saw a VERY unprofessional side of him! I highly recommend you go with another person/company!

Ken came to clean the neighbors pool. The neighbor has room for about 8 cars / trucks in their driveway. Instead of Ken parking in the customers driveway or on the main street, Ken chose to park behind my driveway and make it difficult, if not impossible, for us to exit our driveway while his truck was parked behind it. As the Neighbors had just moved in, I *assumed* that Ken would be back and apparently didn't know he was 1) parked in a NO parking Alleyway; 2) blocking us in which could result in damage to my vehicle or his; and 3) it's garbage day and our garbage and the neighbor's garbage would not be picked up while his truck was blocking and parked in the NO parking alley. I'm not sure what was wrong with Ken today, but he literally said "I call Bullshit" that this is an alley and that I can't park here - and insinuated - you should be able to maneuver out of your driveway. I've lived here for 12 years. The Alley is not a public street because it is not WIDE enough to be a public street. Hence why it is a no Parking Alley. When I suggested he actually park in the neighbors driveway - which had PLENTY of room - he asked if he was "allowed" to park in their driveway???? Given the choice of parking behind a someone's driveway - potentially setting him and us up for accidental damage to our vehicles or actually parking in a clients driveway - his choice was to swear at me, basically call me a liar and be exceedingly rude.... Yep - this is a guy who takes customer service seriously, right ?
