But the new owners, wow....I needed a mechanical seal replaced, parts cost $20, technician(who was very good and efficient and new what he was doing) was there for 1 hour. I was charged $320. That's $300 an hour. Quite exorbitant wouldn't you say? This service in most cases is $75-$150 an hour. Wont be using these guys anymore. read more

We reached out to Discount Pool Supply from one of their Facebook ads regarding a pool heater installation. We were contacted almost immediately to schedule the meeting so we felt confident in their response along with seeing high reviews. A man came to our house at the scheduled time and could not care less about the appointment, took no measurements, and told us "why don't you just get a pool cover". We informed him that was not an option due to our dogs and wanted to have year round heating. He passively said we would receive a quote and potential options but no quote has been received. The best part is the company sent a text asking if we still needed their services.... YOU NEVER DID YOUR JOB! If I could go lower than one star, I would. I have a salt water pool. When DPS took over the weekly service pool maintenance, the pool was in great shape. After a few months, I come home to a chlorine dispensing floatation device in the pool. I have a salt water pool, which makes its own chlorine. The salt level was 6000ppm (proper level is 3000-3500 for the Jandy equipment). The chlorine level was zero, and algae was growing in many areas. As you probably know, the only way to lower the salt level is to drain water and replace with fresh water, Which I did. This happened during the drought. My water bill for that month was about $1,000. I purchased a new chlorine cell, which fixed that problem. They didn't ruin the cell, but didn't tell me it wasn't working. The 6000ppm salt level certainly shortened the cell's life. I also bought the chemicals and did what was necessary to get rid of the algae. Called to fire them. The person answering the phone asked why. I told him and he said "okay" then hung up. No offer to make it right. With this type of service company, they're only as good as the service tech they send to your house. The fact that they had no concern regarding the damage they caused speaks volumes toward their level of commitment. If you use them, I hope you have better luck than me. read more

Unfortunately inherited this company for my pool in La Jolla upon purchase of the new home. After two months of "service" I have a disgusting pool filter (the giant Pentaire one), my vacuum crawwls along, my pool is green, there is no chlorine or conditioner in my pool (verified by a tech, not me). The tech was supposed to follow up with instruction for me (as the owner) on how to adjust (and label) the valves for my pool and never did. In fact, never had any sort of introduction or hand-off meeting which might make sense since I've never owned a pool in my life. My kids spent some time in the hot tub on a hot winter day a weekend ago, and then my son has rashes all over his body (no clue if it's related but the timing sure is strange). Monday was a storm here and nobody came out, but now it's Thursday and still no word, no message, no communication. Yelp says a 2 star rating is "Couldn't been better" so while this might be a harsh rating, it's true to the guidelines. Update to the prior review. I was able to get a corrected bill via phone. An agreement was made on how much I owed and I authorized a credit card charge. The staff ignored that and just went ahead and over charged me well over what was agreed and then claimed it was "automatic" (lie) and that they would refund the overcharges. A few years ago I had a problem with my water having too high a conditioner level. I worked with Leslie's pool supply for months, spent a ton of money on their products. Spent dozens of hours working on my pool trying to get it under control. I have lived in ckairemont since 1st grade and had never heard of discount pool supply until I was driving g by one day and decided to stop. I left this store with 8 gallons of chlorine and a new perspective on how to get rid of the murky over conditioned water that is in my pool. 6 days later my pool was literally crystal clear; it was amazing. What leslie's failed to do was have me keep the chlorine up and in fact one time said "you need to worry about the conditioner not the chlorine right now".
