San Diego Hot Springs has since sent someone to my home to review the chemical treatment options and spend some time training me on how to maintain the water and keep it clean. They've also followed up with several calls to be sure that everything is good and I'm happy with the spa and that the water treatment is going well. The water is clear now and I feel a lot better acquainted with how to maintain the spa and keep the water clean. Our experience with San Diego Hot Springs has been excellent. When we first walked into the store a year ago, we had done some research online and were interested in the Aria spa but had some questions. We met with Sam Montgomery and after discussing all of the options, we decided on the Aria. Sam was up front with us and told us that due to Covid and limited production at the factory at that time (last May), it would take about 4 months. We appreciated knowing that up front and didn't mind the wait since our backyard was going to be remodeled, and we probably wouldn't be ready for it before then anyway. During the summer, we were very concerned about the small space the the spa was going to have to fit into and how to get it there. It involved two flights of stairs outside and was going to sit in a small back corner of our yard. Sam came to our house, measured the tight fit and reassured us. He also explained that we would need to have a crane deliver it. Although this involved an extra charge, he connected us with Gonzalez Crane company and when the time came, George Gonzalez was incredible. What seemed like an impossible feat, he did with perfect precision. As the summer progressed, Sam was always available for us. He spoke or met with us, our contractor and our electrician whenever any of us had a question to make sure that everyone knew and felt comfortable doing what was needed before, during and after delivery. It has been about nine months since the hot tub arrived. I would like to say that we had no questions; that after delivery, we were off and running and knew exactly what to do and never had any questions. That would make us "easy" customers. However, in the months that followed, we have had many questions...it is the first hot tub we've owned, and we've needed reassurance that we were doing things right and that everything was working correctly. Everyone we've spoken to or met with (in addition to Sam)...Brian, Matt, Jim, Justin and Paul, and the service we have received, has been outstanding across the board. The people at San Diego Hot Springs are not just helpful beforehand to "make the sale". They provide an ongoing commitment afterwards to make sure their customers are 100% satisfied. We certainly are. We absolutely love our hot tub and appreciate everyone at this company and wholeheartedly recommend San Diego Hot Springs to anyone who is considering adding a hot tub to their lives. read more

I have an older Hot Spring Spa. At least 20 years. It won't die but we have taken really good care of it. Every time an issue comes up, I call for a service person to come out and they fix it. We use our spa daily so it has been worth every penny getting a hot spring. We know at some point we'll have to replace it but we wouldn't hesitate to get another one. Made an appointment to test a Hot Tub. The salesman was at first OK but when I began asking tough questions or for facts to back up his claims about competitors' products being junk or not having parts available after 5 years, he became irritated and just kept badgering me as if I was dumb for asking questions about how their products compare to the competition. To be fair in the game of Hot Tub sales they All say theirs is the best Hot Tub brand and everyone else's is garbage. I get it but consumers are a lot more sophisticated now days especially ones who are looking to plunk down 15k for a luxury item. This salesman just really came off as entitled and snobby like an old-school washed-up car lot guy... which didn't work for me at all and considering I used to be a car salesman that makes it even worse. I had already installed electrical and discussed this with him before I arrived only to be told later, I would have to redo my electrical for many of their spas. I explained that would be a significant cost which he scoffed at. I then said OK if it's so inexpensive you guys should have no problem covering it for me and he laughed at me and said, "yeah right" What's worse is after I sat in one of their tubs, I asked to use the restroom and they told me that they don't let anyone use their restroom because of covid. So, let me get this straight, I can sit in and test a spa, but I cannot use the restroom? That cost them by business as I was about to sit down, negotiate and look at numbers. I ended up buying a J300 series from Jacuzzi about 2 hours later. The experience with Jacuzzi was phenomenal and they can still get parts on all their products with no problem whatsoever according to them. read more

Sunday I took my kids to the Kearny Mesa showroom, and we were so excited to initiate the purchase. Fast forward three days and every day has served to remove happiness about this decision. Firstly, they don't tell you that you will need to work with three separate people just to get your order delivered -- the salesperson, the delivery crew, and the electrical/construction contractor --- and guess what? Every one of them has their own self-serving interests to maximize any additional junk fees that they can squeeze out of you. That'd be like buying something on Amazon but then you have to call FedEx to get it delivered, and then call SDGE or a handyman to get it powered up and working. It makes zero sense. My only advice to other buyers in this situation is to negotiate the price down upfront by $4-5k because it will cost you at least that in additional prep work to get the spa delivered and functional. I called the business owner thinking we could talk owner to owner, and I still haven't received a response. read more

Update 7/23/21: I was hoping to be able to update this review once receiving the spa with more stars unfortunately that is not the case. During delivery of the spa it was noted that the wrong lift was delivered and would not be able to be installed with the rest of tub. The delivery man informed me that the technician who would be arriving in one month to give the in home tutorial would be able to help us . Fast forward one month post tutorial I still do not have a cover lift installed for the spa. We are now being told that there will be an additional cost of close to $200 to install the cover lift . Had the proper lift been delivered the lift would have been installed along with spa for no additional cost. I understand that the pandemic has hit businesses hard but there needs to be a bit more togetherness in the equation rather than the burden falling entirely on the customer . read more

We have have had a Hot Springs Spa for 20+years, and have had very few problems with it. The few that we have had, have usually been of our own doing. On a couple of occasions we, have tried other spa repair companies hoping to save a little money on the repair, and in the end it always ends up costing us more than it would have if we had come to San Diego Hot Springs in the first place, A few years ago, we learned that lesson and so we no longer make that mistake. This year with all the rain in San Diego we had to replace the cover as not only was it water logged, but when it was opened, due to the excessive weight, the lift mechanism snapped ,and pulled off part of the back of the spa. Paul, ordered the new cover, and one of the techs was was able to rebuild the lift mechanism and simply replace the gas springs. They saved us a lot of money by not having to replace the lift mechanism. They went above and beyond and I'm thankful for them. read more

Grabbed some water treatment from here and realized I hadn't written a long overdue review for these folks. We bought a hot tub from them a few years ago and it was a wonderful experience. The sales associates were incredibly helpful and upfront about costs. No surprises and very transparent the whole process. They've been more than accommodating with any maintenance issues we've had and thanks to regular cleaning and care, our hot tub is humming like new still today. Not sure what it's like with Covid restrictions currently, but when this all clears up they'll ever let you have a practice soak in the store. We are currently struggling with our spa purchased here. We bought a Free Flow portable spa earlier this year which has developed a leak. It's under warranty so we had a service team member come out to the house to look at it. He said he needed to come back with another team member as they needed to empty the spa then turn it over to inspect it. We never got a call back to set up the next visit and have called numerous times to try to reach someone in the service dept. We tried talking to other people in the office and always get routed to the vm for service with no call back. We were told they recently experienced turnover in the service dept., but a manager at this point should be reaching out to us to stay in communication. Extremely disappointing and doesn't seem to be in alignment with the good ratings I'm seeing here on Yelp. These folks are really great. I bought a hot tub almost a year ago but when my wife and I were told by our fertility specialist to hold off on the hot tubs we took that seriously and asked these folks to hold onto it for us for a while. A year later - we were ready to enjoy it but we had since moved (I think everyone who could find a new place moved during 2020/Covid). Unfortunately, the new place couldn't take the tub - not with crews because of stairs and not with cranes because of power lines - even after looking at it several times with different eyes. At the end of the day, we returned the tub, but the lengths these folks went to work with us was really appreciated and when we are finally in a position to get a tub delivered they'll be my first and only call. read more

We love our spa! I wanted a Hot springs spa because we had one when I was a kid and it lasted forever! We've had ours now for six years and it's great. Also, these are made locally so I feel good about our purchase. We did have an issue recently with getting service for a minor leak. We had a scheduled appointment which they couldn't locate when I called because the appointment time window had passed. They took responsibility, apologized and rescheduled for the following day. They didn't make it then either. They explained it was an issue with their computer system and I don't begrudge them - there's no such thing as a "spa emergency". They came the following day and the minor repair was covered by our warranty. The technician even told us to keep an eye on one of the motors because he could hear it sounded funny. read more
