Audio Video Evolution installed a bunch of high end Lutron Palladium shades and we are very happy…read morewith the experience. I bid this out and Brian (owner) was the only one that really took the time to come and look at the site and understand our concerns. He literally spend several hours explaining the systems, taking measurements, and just getting to know each other at our house before making an initial quote. I feel that buying a high end product, that it should come with a high touch service and Brian delivered on that. Brian was super knowledgeable and super patient in educating me and answering many many emails, volunteering good recommendations and breaking my incorrect DIY opinions of what home automation should be. I am a strong DIY guy and I threw a lot of technical questions at Brian. He spent a lot of time steering me in the right direction, and this is all before I gave him the business. We iterated on things for quite a few weeks. The other guys I talked to pretty much followed what I thought I wanted and really did not give much feedback even though it may not be the best thing for me to do. (i.e. I already have a consumer grade Lutron Caseta system in place , but the right solution for my wants is to go with a higher end Lutron system). The depth of technical knowledge about the product was just not there with these other guys. I got one other guy to quote the configuration Brian came up with, as I did not like their configurations. In the end I went with Audio Video Evolution. Some reasons 1) I got to know Brian in the process and I feel he is an open and honest guy. Just based on this I wanted to give him the business. 2) He is technically very knowledgeable and listens. 3) He was willing to price match which surprised me given the superior service he gave me presales. Brian's crew was awesome with the install. Very professional. You can tell this is a high functioning crew. They took their time to get things right, yet got the job done in a timely manner. The install looks gorgeous. BTW - Audio Video Evolution is on the recommended dealers list on Lutron's website. The most difficult part about the whole experience was waiting 10 weeks for the factory to make the Palladium shades and writing the check to pay for them. But in the end I am very happy working with Brian and would highly recommend them if you have any high end AV and shade work needed to get done.

I can't recommend Audio Video Evolution in a higher regard. They literally saved us some massive…read moreheadaches and took on quite a hefty project that spanned so many different areas. I got to know Brian (owner) and his team (Anthony, Carlos, Rod, Chris, Justin and Logan) quite well over the course of a few weeks - and their service was 5-star all around. Professional and friendly. Additionally, Brian brought in 54 Electric (owned by John Pfieffer), who solved some very complicated electrical issues with grace - and they, too, were incredible. More Info on the Projects: We purchased our home and knew there some electrical issues we needed to sort out, as well as some AV stuff we wanted to potentially upgrade. - Electrical: We quickly found out that there were 3 different systems running outlets and light switches throughout the house - and they weren't communicating with one another. And as a result, many outlets simply did not work. And, not to mention, there were many hazardous and non-functional cables throughout the house. Solve: Installed a Lutron lighting system throughout the home - and addressed cable hazards. - AV/Theater: We had an outdated theater, as well as a multi-speaker home system that wasn't functional. Solve: Installed a new projector, screen and speaker system in the theater, as well as fixed the existing multi-speaker system throughout the house. Also, created an AV tower to hold all the different receivers/systems in a closet space. - Shades: We were looking to replace the existing shades in our home and were considering electric shades, but got a few bids that were super high. We were surprised that Brian was actually an expert when it came to electric shades - and gave us a much more affordable price estimate. Solve: Installed Lutron shades in various rooms throughout the house. - Control 4 System: With all the above, Brian installed a Control 4 System to operate it all from one place, including our lights, theater, shades, multi-speakers throughout the home, entry gate, thermostat and security cameras. We thought, yeah, this could be pretty useful at times, but we literally use it everyday and it's a complete game-changer when it comes to convenience. Price: We bid this project out to 4 companies. Two companies came in super high - and one was comparable to Audio Visual Evolution. But, we ended up going with who we felt most comfortable with and couldn't be happier with that choice. Overall: After several months, we're highly satisfied with everything. We've had a couple of small technical things that we weren't tech savvy enough to figure out - and Brian and his crew were super responsive and helpful - and didn't hesitate to come out to take a look or assist. 5-Star Service.

I have forever had problems with the system, Control4, which needs constant stroking and servicing. Right before the pandemic the company who sold me the product and serviced it went out of business. I was in dire need of finding a company who could get me back on track, think messed up TV during the pandemic! Nobody was willing to come in and help since my system was a mess and it wasn't their mess. Fortunately, I found Gator Tech. and over a period of a year they came out on several occasions to fix the errors (which were many) and streamline the system. It was not cheap but it was done to my expectation and satisfaction. Mario has been the main technician at my house working on the system and let me tell you......Mario is great! He is so experienced, knowledgable and brilliant in his work. I am very fortunate to have had Mario assigned to my house project. I highly recommend Mario and Gator Tech to assist in your home theater needs. Thank you Mario and Gator Tech! p.s. I do not recommend Control4 if you want to stay sane and within budget.

Their team is skilled and competent at automation (which seems to be a challenge for many other contractors), easy to work with and nice people, fair and trustworthy, and careful in how they set up and clean up their work spaces. Like pretty much all other contractors I've worked with, their primary challenge is communicating in a timely manner to plan and then schedule the work, but then once the 54 Electric team was working at our house we had a great experience!

Total Scam - Avoid at All Costs!…read more Jim, the owner of Los Gatos Electric, came to my house and quoted me $1,500 to remove an old generator. He demanded I wire him the money immediately, with ZERO paperwork or formal documentation. Foolishly, I trusted him and sent the money with zelle right away--big mistake. Later, I checked their Yelp reviews (why didn't I do this sooner?!) and started seeing red flags about their shady business practices. I called Jim to cancel the work and asked for my money back. That's when he got angry and said he'd only give me a partial refund. Since then, he's completely ghosted me--no calls, no emails, nothing. This is beyond unprofessional--it feels like a straight-up scam. I'm furious and frustrated that someone would take advantage of their customers like this. If you're thinking about hiring Los Gatos Electric, DON'T. Learn from my mistake and stay far away.

Marcos and Jonathan came and really helped us out when we needed it, they explained everything and they did a great job. However, now we are having problems getting a follow up. When Marcos and Jonathan finished up at our house, we had a couple of light fixtures that weren't working correctly. They assured us that all we needed to do was change the bulbs (because they popped during a power surge) and that would fix things. We did that, but the fixtures still don't work correctly. (Please note that this was back in January.) After changing the bulbs, like was recommended to us, I contacted Zeros through the Yelp app messaging system to try and set up a follow up. Mark responded and apologized for the delay in getting back to me due to some issues with the Yelp app. Great. No big deal, and I gave him my phone number and asked if we could have a follow up to look at the non-working fixtures. I asked what day and time to expect someone out, and never got a response. Then many weeks pass with no contact, and I admit that I did not reach out for a while because of work, Covid concerns/vaccine after effects, and other things. Last week I reached out twice via Yelp message. Based on the Yelp message app, I can see that my messages have been read, but there have not been any responses. I also tried calling the number on Yelp, but when I call it goes straight to voicemail without ringing, and I get a message that says the voicemail mailbox is full. We have been getting by without having access to those light fixtures, but this is something we would prefer to have available to us. I am still incredibly thankful and happy with the initial work that was done to fix our electrical issues. I just wish I could get in contact with someone to clean up the one lingering issue we have had since the initial work was completed in January.
