We needed a 240v outlet in our garage to charge a new electrical vehicle…read more Our electrical panel is located as far from the garage as possible, so the work required adding a new 240v breaker to the panel, running a cable up from the panel into the attic, running through the attic to a different corner of the house, continue on the garage ceiling, and finally coming down to a junction box and an outlet the car could plug into. Jose is a great guy. He came promptly, quickly appraised the situation and came up with a plan. He then took care of obtaining the permit from Mountain View, conducted the job efficiently, and was very amenable for some small changes in the plan that I suggested along the way. He is also very responsive to text messages. The breaker that he installed turned out to be defective. Within hours after he heard about it he came over and replaced the breaker. All in good, the work passed the city's inspection without any issues. I strongly recommend Jose for your electrical needs.

He loves to brag about his experience and gaslight customers when his work does not follow through. His ego is too big for the quality of work he does. As we can see in the other comments, he likes to threaten his customer, such as suing them for leaving a bad review. 4. In the end he put back my old broken screen without my permission, and refused to refund me the full amount.

I had the team from 54 Electric install some HDMI and CAT5 cabling in my house to make all of the connections invisible to the eye. John was prompt in arriving to do the estimate and his quote seemed very reasonable. The team that performed the work was professional and even found a way to do this without tearing up a ton of drywall as I had expected, which ultimately saved me a ton of time and money having the wall repaired and painted. I bid this out and Brian (owner) was the only one that really took the time to come and look at the site and understand our concerns. He literally spend several hours explaining the systems, taking measurements, and just getting to know each other at our house before making an initial quote. I feel that buying a high end product, that it should come with a high touch service and Brian delivered on that. Brian was super knowledgeable and super patient in educating me and answering many many emails, volunteering good recommendations and breaking my incorrect DIY opinions of what home automation should be. I am a strong DIY guy and I threw a lot of technical questions at Brian. He spent a lot of time steering me in the right direction, and this is all before I gave him the business. We iterated on things for quite a few weeks. The other guys I talked to pretty much followed what I thought I wanted and really did not give much feedback even though it may not be the best thing for me to do. (i.e. I already have a consumer grade Lutron Caseta system in place , but the right solution for my wants is to go with a higher end Lutron system). The depth of technical knowledge about the product was just not there with these other guys. I got one other guy to quote the configuration Brian came up with, as I did not like their configurations. In the end I went with Audio Video Evolution. Some reasons 1) I got to know Brian in the process and I feel he is an open and honest guy. Just based on this I wanted to give him the business. 2) He is technically very knowledgeable and listens. 3) He was willing to price match which surprised me given the superior service he gave me presales. Brian's crew was awesome with the install. Very professional. You can tell this is a high functioning crew. They took their time to get things right, yet got the job done in a timely manner. The install looks gorgeous. BTW - Audio Video Evolution is on the recommended dealers list on Lutron's website. The most difficult part about the whole experience was waiting 10 weeks for the factory to make the Palladium shades and writing the check to pay for them. But in the end I am very happy working with Brian and would highly recommend them if you have any high end AV and shade work needed to get done.

Professional and friendly. Additionally, Brian brought in 54 Electric (owned by John Pfieffer), who solved some very complicated electrical issues with grace - and they, too, were incredible. More Info on the Projects: We purchased our home and knew there some electrical issues we needed to sort out, as well as some AV stuff we wanted to potentially upgrade. - Electrical: We quickly found out that there were 3 different systems running outlets and light switches throughout the house - and they weren't communicating with one another. And as a result, many outlets simply did not work. And, not to mention, there were many hazardous and non-functional cables throughout the house. Solve: Installed a Lutron lighting system throughout the home - and addressed cable hazards. - AV/Theater: We had an outdated theater, as well as a multi-speaker home system that wasn't functional. Solve: Installed a new projector, screen and speaker system in the theater, as well as fixed the existing multi-speaker system throughout the house. Also, created an AV tower to hold all the different receivers/systems in a closet space. - Shades: We were looking to replace the existing shades in our home and were considering electric shades, but got a few bids that were super high. We were surprised that Brian was actually an expert when it came to electric shades - and gave us a much more affordable price estimate. Solve: Installed Lutron shades in various rooms throughout the house. - Control 4 System: With all the above, Brian installed a Control 4 System to operate it all from one place, including our lights, theater, shades, multi-speakers throughout the home, entry gate, thermostat and security cameras. We thought, yeah, this could be pretty useful at times, but we literally use it everyday and it's a complete game-changer when it comes to convenience. Price: We bid this project out to 4 companies. Two companies came in super high - and one was comparable to Audio Visual Evolution. But, we ended up going with who we felt most comfortable with and couldn't be happier with that choice. Overall: After several months, we're highly satisfied with everything. We've had a couple of small technical things that we weren't tech savvy enough to figure out - and Brian and his crew were super responsive and helpful - and didn't hesitate to come out to take a look or assist. 5-Star Service.

I wanted to run power from our electrical panel on the back side of our house to our garage so we could install a car charging unit that we already owned (Chargepoint). He requested some photos of the location where the charger would be installed as well as photos of the panel, which I sent through Yelp. Once we agreed on a price (which was very competitive amongst the several other quotes I received), he was over at my place in about two weeks. The install took one day, and everything looked and worked great. He scheduled the permit inspection for me and came back on the same day of the inspection to help with that process too. Overall, no complaints and very satisfied with the work done. I've been using the charger for many months now with no issues.

I had an issue with some wiring being installed incorrectly - and dangerously - by a previous sump pump contractor, so I asked Dan to help me redo it. He assessed the situation, gave me an explanation that I could understand, was patient with my questions, and walked me through his plan. He also gave me options to consider like adding some external outlets because I didn't have any, but also because he needed to create a new circuit and this would make it easier to monitor if the circuit tripped. Never pushy. Just seemed like he genuinely wanted to help and provide a solution that would work for me. The job itself was done very efficiently. Dan was prompt, finished in the time he estimated, checked in and gave me status reports. Love that he also paid attention to small details and cleaned up after he was done. I'd definitely recommend his team and look forward to working with him again in the future.
