They are real locksmiths unlike others I have called! They do great work and very quickly! I called and they came the same day! I will not use any other! read more

I was put in a really bad situation by a locksmith who came out and wasn't able to do the job, leaving me with a door that had no lock at all. In my desperation to get it fixed, I called several 1-800 numbers that popped up on Google, and they all turned out to be basically scams--charging me just to come out, giving outrageous quotes, and not doing the work. I ended up losing money and time before finally getting in touch with Andrew. Andrew was an absolute lifesaver. He was responsive, communicated clearly, showed up, and fixed the problem in less than 20 minutes. The quality of his work was excellent, and his pricing was extremely reasonable--especially compared to what I had been quoted elsewhere. I'm very happy overall and highly recommend him. If you want someone honest, efficient, and reliable, call Andrew. read more

Darrin helped to rekey a Baldwin entry lock as the handyman we hired had lost the original key. They came out promptly and made 3 new keys for us. Also, as a favor, they installed the new brass deadbolt handle that we had ordered and couldn't figure out how to install without buying more tools. This is our first time using Modern Lock and Security and will definitely be using them again! read more

I bought 3 Schlage locks and they all had different keys. Darrin helped me rekeyed two of them so now I have one key for all 3. He finished the job in maybe 5 min, reminded me about getting extra keys, and we tested everything I left. Thank you! read more

Darrin helped come out to our new house and change all the locks (including a mortise lock) to match all our keys, and oiled up our turns to make sure everything was functioning nicely. He also gave us the option of some higher quality keys to match the style of the ones we had, and gave me some tips on key codes in case we ever get locked out. Top notch, quick and friendly service. read more

He was on time and did the job with no drama. I lost the key to two storage rooms, so I want someone who can duplicate the key that I lost. I called a couple of other locksmiths before and one of them said he may or may not duplicate the key. If he can't, he would have to pick two locks instead of one. Service was great and fast. I will be a repeat customer. read more

Yah...I'm just one of the MANY here when I say this company is top notch. Seriously...it is THE lock company you want to use. Polite, experienced, super clean, communicative...I mean yah. 100% on point. The father/son team helped us install additional locks per door (x2 doors), replace a door knob to the kid's room (think Alice in Wonderland), fix a sliding glass door lock that head a threaded screw issue, and a number of issues. Excellent, excellent, excellent. Thanks guys! read more

We have worked with Modern Lock twice now. The first time, we had deadbolt locks installed in two different patio doors. These were different sizes and had unique trim so the template from home depot would not have worked for me. Six months later, alignment has been great! Earlier this week, we had Darrin out again to repair our front door deadbolt which was not retracting properly, causing the door to become stuck. Darrin had great attention to detail, taking it apart and adjusting it a few times until it felt just right. It is lined up and much smoother now. On both occasions, Darrin was on time and explained his approach as he went. We will definitely use Modern Lock again for any future locksmith needs. read more

Darrin was professional, timely, and made us feel comfortable. Thank you for your expertise and throwing in the extra key!

Called Darrin today and asked if he has time to come by and install an electronic lock for my entry and another lock at my garage entry. He was pleasant, professional, polite, and courteous. He asked me if I had already purchased all the locks because the ones I wanted were special orders, I said "No", but I can go to Home Depot and get them. So off I went and got one lock, meanwhile he called his son to see if he had any in stock. I came home and called him and requested him to be at my place at 1730, he arrived early and installed my new entry lock quickly. Job was done right and clean, will make an appointment to finish up the rest of the locks. read more

5 stars for Modern Lock & Security. I needed to have the locks on my house changed. I called Modern Lock & Security and Bakers Lock & Key Service. Darrin at Modern Lock & Security quoted me a lower price. Based on that and the positive Yelp reviews I decided to go with them. When I called him back to set up the appointment he was able to accommodate me on the same day. He showed on up right on time in his super sized locksmith van and proceeded to take care or the locks. In the process of changing the locks he identified and fixed issues that were causing two of my doors to stick. He also identified and fixed an issue with one of the old door knobs that would have been a security issue. He also included the cost of the new keys for free. I did mention that the Yelp ad had a reference to $10 off the service call but the cost of the keys was about the same so I did not make a stink about it. He said that his son manages the online content and he did not realize that the deal has changed. I would recommend that you mention the $10 off promo on Yelp when you set up the appointment to make sure that you get it. Overall the price was reasonable for the work that he did. Darrin was extremely professional, very friendly, did an outstanding job and went above and beyond my expectations. If I ever need any other related work I will definitely be calling them again. I highly recommend them! read more

What a pleasure having Modern Lock and Security take care of our lock issues. They made excellent keys for an old lock that made it work like new. They were also able to provide keys for another old lock that I had lost the key for. They were fast, excellent, affordable and just plain nice! I highly recommend this service. I will use them any time I need help with locks. read more

Very front with their business. Needed a key made for my 1999 Lexus RX300. Dealer wanted $75.00 for the key and $200.00 to program the key. Absurd pricing. I could program the key with instructions off the Internet in 10 minutes. The dealer is therefore charging $1,200.00 an hour. Modern Lock and Security said reprogramming the key was unnecessary. They would just put the old transponder into the new key. Slam dunk. Key cost $75.00 which is in line with other locksmiths. Thank you Modern Lock and Security. read more

We have a lock that we accidentally put on backwards on a side gate at our house. We live about 15 blocks from where this locksmith is located. They wanted $65 to cut the lock off. Really? It would take them 10 minutes to get here and about 5 min to cut the lock off. So, you just made sure we will never use your company for any locksmith needs....ever. read more
