We have worked with Modern Lock twice now. The first time, we had deadbolt locks installed in two different patio doors. These were different sizes and had unique trim so the template from home depot would not have worked for me. Six months later, alignment has been great! 5 stars for Modern Lock & Security. I needed to have the locks on my house changed. I called Modern Lock & Security and Bakers Lock & Key Service. Darrin at Modern Lock & Security quoted me a lower price. Based on that and the positive Yelp reviews I decided to go with them. When I called him back to set up the appointment he was able to accommodate me on the same day. He showed on up right on time in his super sized locksmith van and proceeded to take care or the locks. In the process of changing the locks he identified and fixed issues that were causing two of my doors to stick. He also identified and fixed an issue with one of the old door knobs that would have been a security issue. He also included the cost of the new keys for free. I did mention that the Yelp ad had a reference to $10 off the service call but the cost of the keys was about the same so I did not make a stink about it. He said that his son manages the online content and he did not realize that the deal has changed. I would recommend that you mention the $10 off promo on Yelp when you set up the appointment to make sure that you get it. Overall the price was reasonable for the work that he did. Darrin was extremely professional, very friendly, did an outstanding job and went above and beyond my expectations. If I ever need any other related work I will definitely be calling them again. Very front with their business. Needed a key made for my 1999 Lexus RX300. Dealer wanted $75.00 for the key and $200.00 to program the key. Absurd pricing. I could program the key with instructions off the Internet in 10 minutes. The dealer is therefore charging $1,200.00 an hour. Modern Lock and Security said reprogramming the key was unnecessary.
