Dan was on time and did an outstanding job in a timely manner. Came in, went right work and problem solved by being able to match our new front door lock and key with the garage door lock and key. Excellent, professional service from start to finish. I have used Romy's lock and key for over 20 years. Working as a realtor, guys like Dan make my clients happy. read more

Noelle's Yelp Notebook 2017 When my then fiancé now husband purchased our home nearly eight years ago, our realtor had our locks replaced and used Romy's Lock & Key (this is when they still had a brick and mortar shop). I remember going to their shop when it was still open and needing luggage locks and a gate lock for our front gate- customer service was helpful and friendly. They no longer have their brick and mortar shop but help isn't far away- you can call them and they will help you out of any jam :) My neighbor frantically called me today when I was getting a pedicure and asked for help. My neighbor even considered breaking a window or using our ladder to climb into their home. Long story short, the first person I thought to call was Dan from Romy's Lock and Key. Thankfully, he had time and met us at my neighbors home. He unlocked the home and everything was back to normal. He's in the process of getting a new credit card machine so currently he doesn't take debit or credit cards. My neighbor asked if he accepted Paypal and he doesn't. Good thing, I had cash on hand- paid him in cash with 20% tip. Payments currently accepted are cash or check. If you're looking for a salt of the earth trustworthy person who does great locksmith work- ask for Dan and remember to call Romy's Lock and Key! I knew of Romy's Lock & Key because I familiar with their shop near my house. I didn't know the shop had closed a few years ago and now the service is mobile only, but mobile is what I needed, so it was perfect for me. After reading the Yelp reviews, I called late Thursday afternoon to set up an appointment to get my locks changed. Dan showed up first thing on Friday morning and was in and out in under a half an hour. A friend had warned me how expensive it would be to change the locks and Dan charged me less than half of what I expected. He was professional, friendly and did a great job. I highly recommend Dan's service and will not hesitate to contact him again in the future. read more

Dan was fantastic. He diagnosed the problem and even found the part I needed online and offered to install it himself but also indicated I could probably do it myself. In fact, it was a simple solution and I was able to do it myself. Dan saved me hundreds of dollars. That type of honesty and helpfulness is uncommon in our world these days. He could have easily charged me to do the job but he was kind enough to take the time to find the part and advise me how to fix it myself. Much appreciated!! read more

Great work, immediate callback, and affordable. Went the extra mile to create new keys too while here. Strongly recommend for any locksmith work. read more

My friend who referred me to Romy's was referred by her realtor a number of years ago. I called over the weekend and was able to set up an appointment within a couple of days. Dan arrived right on time and fixed us right up: - re-keyed 5 locks - installed 2 new door knobs (included in the re-key) - gave us two extra keys Now instead of three different keys, we have ONE! He charges $59 for house calls and it was totally worth it in my case. It would take me so long to take the hardware off and put everything back. Highly recommend! read more

Called Dan and met him at my house the very same day to rekey locks to the house. He showed up on time, was very professional and completed his work well. Would highly recommend his service! read more

Super fast, super professional. We've used Dan's services twice in the last 5 yrs. he is very experienced. He was in an out of our house within an hr to rekey 7 locks. Very easy to schedule. Highly recommend him. read more

I've used Romy's four times in 20+ years. Each time they did the job quickly and for a reasonable price. This time Dan advised me how to replace the lock cylinder on a sliding glass door myself. Last time my deadbolt was broken and missing parts. He repaired it and now it is a good as new. I'm really happy, because the brand isn't made any more, and if he couldn't have fixed it I would have had to carry two keys or replace all the locks in my house. Ten years ago, he fixed a broken doorknob and rekeyed the house. I'm a super happy customer. Please note: Romy's is mobile-only now. But Dan's truck has more parts in it than most shops! read more

I called Romy's and set up an appt to fix an entry deadbolt lock mfg'd by Weslock (sp). Dan showed up on time and went right to work. His van was full of tools and supplies -- reminded me of the Tardis -- unassuming at first, but when you peek in -- a full blown locksmith's shop. I could tell that Dan was no fly by night matchbook trained locksmith, but a well seasoned (but not salty) locksmith. My job for him was mundane I'm sure, but that was good. Advice: If possible, bring your lock to Romy's shop & save mucho $. Advice2: If you're installing or replacing new locks, avoid Weslock. read more

Front door project - remove door lock, repaint door, re-install door lock ...oops, it's a Schlage! Call a few locksmiths, it's after 5 and the virus crap. Get referred to Dan, at Romy's. It's now 6PM, so I schedule him for Friday AM. He arrives on time, checks out my lock, and discovers I ruined the lock in my beastly attempt to "make it fit". He's now on the phone calling in all his network to find a new lock, which shows on eBay for $900. Ouch...he keeps calling. He finds exact need at Baker's lock & key, used but in better shape than my old Schlage. I run to Bakers get lock, text Dan and he's at my home minutes after I get back from buying the lock. 10 minutes and he's installed the door lock, punched me 8 keys, and is on his way to another family to save their day/week. My family is thoroughly impressed with his response to our situation, his knowledge of the Schlage systems and his commitment to get our front door fixed, quickly, inexpensively and properly. Dan saved my nightmares of what could have happened without a proper front door lock. Dan's the ultimate pro in his field, and someone I'd be proud to recommend...prouder to call him a friend. We are so happy to have been introduced to Dan. read more

Dan re-keyed our new house for us the day we moved in. He was super-quick and efficient. The only reason I'm not 5-star'ing here is that even though we had called a week prior (and then again the day prior), the day we needed his service, Dan wasn't sure if he'd be able to fit us in. He was able to - and earlier in the day than we expected - but it did cause me some stress and I was back on Yelp looking for other locksmiths just in case. ;) It all worked out though, and the actual service was quick and easy. read more

What can I say, Dan's the man! We use him exclusively to rekey all of our properties. **Trustworthy**, professional and reliable. Keep in mind that they are now a mobile only locksmith. read more

Great service. Knowledgeable and honest. We just had and incident were the interior door handle was broken off. It was about 20 years old and no longer in production. Luckily Romy had found a replacement part that fit and worked perfect. He was quick to respond and identified, then fixed the problem. He was professional and a class act. I highly recommend his service for any of your locksmith needs. read more

I found them on Yelp and read the reviews, and the name was familiar as they have been doing business in this area for years. Well, I needed 3 door locks re-keyed and thought it would cost a fortune. Well, I called, price was very reasonable and Dan came out within the hour! Very punctual, efficient and my locks are rekeyed for less than it would have cost me to replace the front door lock! Highly recommend them. Honest. Efficient. Experienced. What more can you ask for? Lori P. read more

Showed up to give us a price on rekeying our new building. We called 3 companies. One wouldn't quote against this guy (his neighbor) and then Romys claimed that they couldn't get to the job for a month so they could not give us a price. They could have saved us time and trouble if they had told us that from the beginning read more

Dan was awesome. We had a key get stuck in a non-standard lock on our front door. At first he thought he might be able to come by the next morning (I was calling him in the early afternoon) but he took my number and said he would call if he was available earlier. He called about an hour later and was working on our lock 30 mins after that. The lock we have is weird, not the usual Schlage, Bladwin, Kwikset, but an Italian brand that's no longer made. Amazingly, he knew about it and actually had a lock core in his truck from one that he used to show how the mechanism worked. He was able to get the key released and checked and lubricated the lock mechanism. Nothing was broken luckily and everything checked out. Not sure what happened, but very glad Dan was able to come by and fix the issue. He was also able to make us a new set of keys for the lock since the original keys we had were poorly cut (getting hung from time to time when turning) at the local hardware store. He punched us a new set, not using the grind/cut but rather measuring the actual depth of the notches and punch-cutting a clean copy at the correct depth and position. The new set worked flawlessly and most importantly, smoothly! Thanks again Dan! read more

Amazing service! I called Dan on a Sunday when he was closed, told me he would cut me a deal if I removed the locks and brought them to his house to re-key. He finished the job in 15 minutes in his driveway and I was on my way. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Dan from Romy's Lock & Key is great. He re-keyed three locks and provided four keys for me without any issues and very fast. He was recommended by my landlord and that is a recommendation I really appreciate. He doesn't have a shop anymore but does mobile service only. I would definitely recommend Dan and Romy's Lock & Key when you are in need of a quality locksmith. read more

We had an incident and needed to re-key the entire house ASAP. Called the landlord and he told us to call Romy's which was near by/ We called them Sunday morning around 10:30 AM and Dan answered immediately. Even though it was his daughter's birthday he show-ed up in 20 minutes and completed all the work in another 20 minutes or so. He was very professional and courteous. Got a great deal and we paid him cash. He even replaced one of the cylinder that was only marginally working. Highly recommended for those in need of a good locksmith; we feel really good with his service and safe again in our house. read more

We were referred to Romy's by our real estate agent to get our house re-keyed. Dan was very responsive and very punctual. I highly recommend Romy's lock and key! read more

I appreciate Romy's because they have a real storefront (next to the Post Office on Branham near Alamaden), unlike many locksmiths who (understandably) work strictly from vans and home shops. I had removed the cylinder from a lock and messed it up. They made the cylinder work again and the charge was quite reasonable. It's a father-son team, the dad minds the store while the son works in the field. I enjoyed talking to them, they both seem quite knowledgeable -- and they fixed my problem quickly and cheaply. read more

Outstanding job, right price on time no BS, my wife and I feel much better now.
