Audio Video Evolution installed a bunch of high end Lutron Palladium shades and we are very happy with the experience. I bid this out and Brian (owner) was the only one that really took the time to come and look at the site and understand our concerns. He literally spend several hours explaining the systems, taking measurements, and just getting to know each other at our house before making an initial quote. I feel that buying a high end product, that it should come with a high touch service and Brian delivered on that. Brian was super knowledgeable and super patient in educating me and answering many many emails, volunteering good recommendations and breaking my incorrect DIY opinions of what home automation should be. I am a strong DIY guy and I threw a lot of technical questions at Brian. He spent a lot of time steering me in the right direction, and this is all before I gave him the business. We iterated on things for quite a few weeks. The other guys I talked to pretty much followed what I thought I wanted and really did not give much feedback even though it may not be the best thing for me to do. (i.e. I already have a consumer grade Lutron Caseta system in place , but the right solution for my wants is to go with a higher end Lutron system). The depth of technical knowledge about the product was just not there with these other guys. I got one other guy to quote the configuration Brian came up with, as I did not like their configurations. In the end I went with Audio Video Evolution. Some reasons 1) I got to know Brian in the process and I feel he is an open and honest guy. Just based on this I wanted to give him the business. 2) He is technically very knowledgeable and listens. 3) He was willing to price match which surprised me given the superior service he gave me presales. Brian's crew was awesome with the install. Very professional. You can tell this is a high functioning crew. They took their time to get things right, yet got the job done in a timely manner. The install looks gorgeous. BTW - Audio Video Evolution is on the recommended dealers list on Lutron's website. The most difficult part about the whole experience was waiting 10 weeks for the factory to make the Palladium shades and writing the check to pay for them. But in the end I am very happy working with Brian and would highly recommend them if you have any high end AV and shade work needed to get done. read more

I'd give more stars if I could. I have worked with Brian and Anthony. They have both come to my rescue. Audio Video Evolution stepped right up and made things right for me when I was left high and dry by the AV company that had installed all my Control 4 equipment. I called so many places that said they wouldn't work on a job that had been installed by another company, but Audio Video Evolution took me under their wing, fixed everything that was wrong and restored my faith in ethical business practices. I can't recommend Audio Video Evolution in a higher regard. They literally saved us some massive headaches and took on quite a hefty project that spanned so many different areas. I got to know Brian (owner) and his team (Anthony, Carlos, Rod, Chris, Justin and Logan) quite well over the course of a few weeks - and their service was 5-star all around. Professional and friendly. Additionally, Brian brought in 54 Electric (owned by John Pfieffer), who solved some very complicated electrical issues with grace - and they, too, were incredible. More Info on the Projects: We purchased our home and knew there some electrical issues we needed to sort out, as well as some AV stuff we wanted to potentially upgrade. - Electrical: We quickly found out that there were 3 different systems running outlets and light switches throughout the house - and they weren't communicating with one another. And as a result, many outlets simply did not work. And, not to mention, there were many hazardous and non-functional cables throughout the house. Solve: Installed a Lutron lighting system throughout the home - and addressed cable hazards. - AV/Theater: We had an outdated theater, as well as a multi-speaker home system that wasn't functional. Solve: Installed a new projector, screen and speaker system in the theater, as well as fixed the existing multi-speaker system throughout the house. Also, created an AV tower to hold all the different receivers/systems in a closet space. - Shades: We were looking to replace the existing shades in our home and were considering electric shades, but got a few bids that were super high. We were surprised that Brian was actually an expert when it came to electric shades - and gave us a much more affordable price estimate. Solve: Installed Lutron shades in various rooms throughout the house. - Control 4 System: With all the above, Brian installed a Control 4 System to operate it all from one place, including our lights, theater, shades, multi-speakers throughout the home, entry gate, thermostat and security cameras. We thought, yeah, this could be pretty useful at times, but we literally use it everyday and it's a complete game-changer when it comes to convenience. Price: We bid this project out to 4 companies. Two companies came in super high - and one was comparable to Audio Visual Evolution. But, we ended up going with who we felt most comfortable with and couldn't be happier with that choice. Overall: After several months, we're highly satisfied with everything. We've had a couple of small technical things that we weren't tech savvy enough to figure out - and Brian and his crew were super responsive and helpful - and didn't hesitate to come out to take a look or assist. 5-Star Service. read more

We love the lighting, shades, audio/video, and WiFi equipment that AV Evolution installed in our house. It wasn't cheap, but the end result was a lot better than we had expected; details below. One thing that stood out was that whenever I listened to Brian's advice, I came to appreciate it down the road; whenever I didn't, I came to regret it! We moved into a newly built house in 2020. It was a "spec" house with no installed speakers or even speaker wiring, had generic lighting, etc. We wanted to install a TV with surround speakers. AV Evolutions was recommended to us. Brian proposed a plan for a TV + speakers, audio speakers, and an enterprise level WiFi system (two DIY "mesh" systems I had installed myself kept dropping connections when moving around the house; the system that AV Evolution installed has been rock solid). This was a larger project than installing TV speakers, but we opted for it since we could see the benefits. My wife, who is not a techy and doesn't get excited about home electronics, loves how everything just works and how well they are integrated. Brian recommended installing an intelligent lighting system. I instead decided on a less capable DIY version. We grew the scope of the project over time, adding landscaping speakers and shades. With the installation of the shades, we needed to switch to the lighting controller that Brian had originally recommended, and took out what I had installed myself. Looking at the bright side, I got to sell lots of switches on eBay :-). The project was slowed down by the supply chain issues of the pandemic, and by the backyard construction that had to be completed first. Through it all, the AV Evolution team stayed responsive and handled our interactions with professionalism. I'd be remiss not to add that these guys know their stuff. I recently retired after 40 years in the computer industry. I know Tech, and take pride in dabbling in home electronics. But I quickly learned to let these guys do their work and just watch; they know their stuff! It is easy to get overwhelmed by the underlying complexities and by the many choices you have to make. We had a terrific experience with Brian and his off-sider Tom even though our initial meeting was oddly arranged. For the past 1.5 years we have been working with Coitcom Satellite in Redwood City for our home a-v needs. We were scheduled to work with Coitcom again last week when the former owner of Coitcom appeared at our door to tell us that Coitcom's business was rapidly moving toward corporate installations so they would not be working with us (a residential customer) again. In fact, this Coitcom representative said Coitcom would not be able to fulfill the appointment the company had made with us for that same day because the a-v guy who was scheduled to work with us was still working with Apple on a big project that was stategically more important than we were. To say that we were shell shocked by Coitcom's behavior is an understatement. As the Coitcom rep. was leaving our house he recommended that we talk to Brian at Audio Video Evolution. He said Brian was more focused on residential customers and would be more responsive to our needs. We honestly didn't know whether to trust this recommendation since Coitcom had acted so unprofessionally toward us, but Coitcom made a call to Brian and Brian later called us to set up an appt. We were slightly uncomfortable until we met and began working with Brian. Brian is very knowledgable, professional and easy going. He came in, discussed what we needed, cleaned up some problems Coitcom had ignored on our system, and then installed a new blue ray player and Appletv to our system. Before leaving Brian reprogrammed our remote so non-technical folks like us could actually run our equipment (with a brief tutorial) and he kept in touch for several days to make sure we weren't having any problems. I contacted Brian in March to help me with selection of components for a small home theater system and for installation of same. Brian was responsive and helpful and suggested the components I would need. He came to my house for the inital visit, and brought one of his technicians. I already had speakers on hand that I liked, so Brian said he could incorporate those into the project without my having to purchase new ones. Due to my travel schedule, the installation happened in June. I am not technical AT ALL, so I trusted Brian and his team with installing everything and then teaching me how to use it. Brian's techs were prompt, professional and knowledgable (and patient, thank God). We ran into a few issues because of user error (yours truly) and due to my slow AT&T connection. Brian and his team responded promptly to my questions, and they made additional visits to make sure I was comfortable with how things were working. Brian even gave me an additional component (I think it is called a base station) at no charge to make things easier for me. And he suggested a universale remote as well, so I no longer have to work with multiple remotes. I cannot say enough about Brian's professionalism, excellent service, and commitment to making sure the customer is happy (and knows how to work the system!) Have used this company to do automation and audio/video of my brand new house and end up with a house full of mistakes and errors that after spending money on other contractors I ended up with partially fixing them. Their contract cost me tens of thousands of dollars but they left the project incomplete and full of errors. I had to hire several other individuals to clean up the mess they left behind. We had our initial contract with Rubin who turned out to be a complete crook and scam. We still have three cans that are not programmed to any key pads and to turn on the light we need to go to the closet upstairs. We just discovered this item recently. They want to charge over 500 dollars to fix their error. The camera has never worked and I had to turn it off all together. All the wirings were messed up and I had to hire another tech for multiple weeks to track the routes and correct what could be done. I have two speakers in the exercise room that are not connected to anywhere and they could not trace the wire to any locations (I have central audio system). the camera on the key pad for gate is not working either. I would have given zero star if I could but stay as far away from them as possible. read more
