A decent amount of options but I only came for the soup dumplings. Review of the soup dumplings themselves i probably would give it a (3/5). The skin was a little on the thicker side. Pork filling was good, thats probably the one I would recommend the most. Service was fast, quick and easy.

I LOVE that everything were fresh and cooked to order. We got truffles and pork/shrimps/spinach soup dumpings: the wraps were soft and tender, the fillings were soft, juicy; and the flavors well balanced. The stir fried noodles were tender and plum, the popcorn chicken bites were super crispy; and the flavors are not overwhelming which leave room to add flavors with chiili sauce, soy sauce; and vinegar. The black tea lychee was the BEST i had, full of lychee flavor i will definitely go back and try other dishes.

Last week after grocery shopping, my husband and I stopped by UDX (Ugly Dumpling Express) in Springfield for lunch. The food was honestly fresh and flavorful especially the Fried Rice, which was perfectly cooked and came in a good portion. The chicken dumplings were soft with a light crisp, really tasty overall. But yeah... the service was quite slow! We had to wait for about 30 minutes even though it wasn't that crowded. So, great food just not ideal if you're starving Overall: Food: 8/10 Service: 5/10 Would we go again? Maybe ...but takeout next time!

We paid our first visit to Ugly Dumpling yesterday and we were happy with our sojourn here. Even today I am still thinking about the great flavors. You can order either with somebody at the checkstand or on one of the three self-serve kiosks. While the restaurant name contains "Dumpling" there is also chicken fried rice, noodles, steamed buns, shumai plus a lot more. There's even two kinds of vegetable dishes, i.e. the the cucumber salad and the string beans. Whatever you order, I do recommend you at least order the spicy chicken pork and shrimp wontons. If spicy foods scare you sway, don't worry, these wontons are not spicy. These wontons are soft and are served in an absolutely delightful and delicious chili sauce. You can use this chili sauce as very nice dipping sauce for your other items. Besides the wontons, we ordered: - Pork and shrimp shumai: firmer than your typical shumai and exceptionally delicious. My favorite dish of the day. - Braised Beef Noodle Soup: good with a light hint of five spice. - Spring rolls: just okay. - Pork Soup dumplings - the filling's flavor was just fair but the soup broth in the dumpling was fine. It's unfortunate that Ugly Dumpling only provides plastic disposable silverware for dine-in. More specifically, they need to offer dumpling soup spoons, so you can fully enjoy the experience of eating a soup dumpling. But having said that, we will be back.

My husband and I were visiting the Alexandria area and he really wanted to try some dumplings so we found Ugly Dumpling Express. When we walked in we were greeted so nicely and the young man working in the front area was so helpful. He gave suggestions and was friendly the entire time, which I can appreciate. We ordered the chicken stir-friend noodles, popcorn chicken, and the ud dumpling sampler. All tasted very good! I would have liked the popcorn chicken to come with a side of sauce to dip it in. I didn't ask once I sat down so that's on me. The dumpling sampler included: pork, shrimp & spinach, pork & crab, pork & truffle, pork, and chicken soup. Those were tasty! The inside was so clean and the staff was very kind!

I came here today for the first time. The place is very clean. The cashier was super nice and friendly. I got the orange chicken with fried rice and a side of crab rangoons. I must say, the fried rice was delicious. Way better than most carryouts. The orange chicken is also very delicious. Similar to Panda Express. The crab rangoons were fresh and super tasteful as well.

I did an order ahead and to be frank I was estatic that my order was ready to go when I got there! They had no line, nor was it busy. It just took a while for someone to actually come out to tend and give me my order. I just didn't want to snatched the order even though I saw it. I got shumai, chili wontons, and short rib noodles soup. All were pretty tasty. The only one i probably wouldn't get again were the wontons, the insides weren't that great. I did however like the sauce it came with very delicious. The soup was flavorful and strong umami taste. Yummmmmmmmmmm. Will be back for other menu items!

Stopped here for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. First impressions: bright, modern, clean restaurant. Very friendly service, they have a couple of big iPads for ordering for first time diners, it makes it easier since it shows pictures of the food items. Lots of options to choose from: dumplings, fried rice, noodles, wontons etc. favorites: the fried chicken with pork was bomb! So so good, it came with vinegar and ginger which added a nice touch. The pork, shrimp and chicken spicy wontons were good but not amazing. And lastly, I was a bit disappointed about the UD soup dumpling sampler. Didn't love all of them, but there were a couple of favorites: the green one and the yellow one. Overall a pretty decent meal at a great price. Friendly service and clean space. Will come back to try more!

Came here for lunch with a friend and enjoyed my food and boba! The newly opened Ugly Dumpling Express is a well designed establishment that has great options. Think of it as a cheaper Din Tai Fung alternative :) I got the Chicken Fried Rice and Green Tea - very filling a nice portion size. Loved how the fried rice had large pieces of chicken and spring onions. The tea was flavorful and not too sweet, just how I like it! My friend got the Chicken Fried Noodles/Orange Chicken - all very tasty and not too salty. The pricing is decent, but a little more expensive than I anticipated. The service was speedy and very accommodating to all questions I had. The ambiance is clean, sleek, and trendy! Overall, would come back to try more dishes and teas!

The food was decent. Would return again. This is an order and find your own seat type of place. Upon walking in, you don't see the kiosks to order that are around the corner. Didn't have any issues with the staff at the counter, just have a preference for viewing from a kiosk if it's available to see all the ordering options. One or two of the soup dumplings were already open while in the steam basket. One or two soup dumplings were a little stuck when trying to pick them up. It happens, they were still tasty. The fried rice was decent, a little splash of soy sauce brought it to the next level. The popcorn chicken was good. Paper plates and utensils were available by the drink station. Paper plates and a regular plastic spoon is not ideal for soup dumplings. Wish they had soup spoons at least. There is vinegar and soy sauce available at the table. The bottles were a bit dirty, one of the bottles was so stuck to the tray it was very difficult to remove from the tray....we swapped the tray of sauces from another table that was a bit cleaner...wish they had some ginger to go with the soup dumplings. Despite the sauce bottles being a bit dirty, overall the place seemed quite clean.

Great dumplings and a full menu of authentic Chinese food. My entire family loves this place! Great for kids! The restaurant is super clean, and they have fast delivery. Great Chinese food!! I highly recommend Ugly Dumpling Express!! Gotta go!

Ugly Dumpling: Dumplings so juicy they'd make a commie capitalist--pork-chive bombs, soup grenades, scallion pancakes crispier than CNN fact-checks. Dirt-cheap, no-BS service. Only catch: it's extremely cold inside, like dining in AOC's green new freezer. Bundle up, chow down, 4.5/5 frostbitten thumbs up.

First time in this express store. Glad that both dumplings and egg fried rice are authentic. Braised beef noodle soup is sold out, so I tried pork chop noodle soup which is pretty good. The egg rolls will taste better if they are hotter.

My friend and I usually order 5 dishes, have an amazing feast and take leftovers for lunches. Service is quick and efficient, servers definitely work together and check on you multiple times. I strongly recommend: 1) pork with tiger peppers - spicy level is inconsistent but flame flavor is top notch 2) beef with sour cabbage - tangy and little bit of sweetness. It's more of pickled cabbage with crunch texture and tender meat. 3) general tso chicken - ask for the sauce on the side and you will have crunch friend chicken with sauce controlled for your palate throughout the meal :)

Peking duck was just ok, very dark in color and did not have that authentic taste. I would not recommend this place for their Peking duck. Even the wrappers had a weird taste the fried salt and pepper pork chops lacked both salt and pepper! The dim sum was again just ok, like if you need your fix and didn't feel like driving too far, then here is fine. Service was great and food came out pretty fast. My one star off is for taste and authenticity, prob a non Chinese would find this place great.

I liked how at the get-go they gave me a full set of silverware and chopsticks swaddled in a napkin. The crispy 1. Chả Giò spring rolls with ground pork and crab were excellent. For my entrée, I ordered the 24. Cơm Sườn Chả pork chop. I was intrigued by the menu description which included egg custard and broken rice. Overall, the pork was very good and I liked that it was not over-marinated with lemongrass. The egg custard was a square of something gelatinous. It had a mild pleasant flavor. So the broken rice is interesting. It seems like a short-grain white rice, but has a very nice somewhat dense texture. Even though the menu advertised lettuce with tomato for my pork chop, the lettuce came with thinly sliced carrot and radish instead of tomato, which was fine. The only negative about my visit to Brothers Bistro was that the pork chop came out at the same time as the spring rolls appetizer.
