the whole experience was unfortunately a bit lacking. when you go to a nice restaurant, you expect the service to be on par with the pricing!! we had to ask for water twice and the water was only brought to our table when our last dish came out? the food wasn't paced out properly & they would bring out new dishes without clearing the plates from the previous course. they also messed up our dessert order. it felt like the service wasn't as attentive as you'd expect from a restaurant at this price point!!! :( also! the whole ambiance was off. the table next to us was so so so loud - they were literally screaming with laughter & it honestly startled me a few times. crazy that no one from the restaurant asked them to quiet down a bit! it felt like we were sitting in a loud club rather than a nice restaurant. as for the food, it just didn't hit the spot for me or my boyfriends family. maybe the overall environment affected the experience, but some dishes were too salty while others were too bland. the sushi rice seemed to have too much vinegar, which was overpowering. i had such a great experience at uchi austin, so it was honestly pretty disappointing to see such a difference in the overall experience here!

Unclear how I have never left a review of my darling Uchi. The service is unmatchable. The restaurant is beautiful. The food is delicious as are the drinks. There is a patio. There's a little street parking or valet for $5. Definitely try the omakase. My photos are from going to omakase two nights in a rowZ

I do love my sushi. The omakase pieces were well chosen. There was a good spread of nigiri, sashimi, and cooked items. Dessert was a bonus. All dishes was well presented. Our server, Ali (Alison) was exceptional. Always made sure everything was in perfect order. We really appreciate her attention to detail and creating the best dining experience. Music choice was a nice touch. Do try the sake tasting. Great spectrum of flavors. They curate their own sake from New York. Quite tasty.

Always great. Went for happy hour for the first time. The menu is sufficient. Obviously not all the things are on there and the dishes aren't that discounted for main courses. Good timeframe and the staff is nice. We did the vegetarian omakase last time we went but this time was our first time going during happy hour and they couldn't make the happy hour omakase with a vegetarian spin.

Stopped by on a Monday for happy hour and was not disappointed! They have a $3, $6, $9 menu and it's probably the best happy hour I've been to in Dallas!

Went on a friday night- service was nice and fast. I really appreciated how they walked us through the menu and our server had nice picks. My highlights of the night were the ham and egg roll and chicken karaage! The fried milk was cool, but the side pairings of it I didn't understand. There was a sheet of burnt something on top and then something like bitter chocolate fudge underneath. Wouldn't get the dessert again, but the dishes offered a cool experience!

We set a budget with the waiter for a Samakase.. nothing else to say besides the best meal I've ever had in Dallas (close to in general). Come experience it. I would give 6 stars if I could

I just found my absolute favorite sushi spot. Shout out to our server Rachael for recommending the most amazing gluten free dishes! I was the only person in my group that was gluten-free and the staff were so on top of it! Every single dish they brought out, they explained which had gluten in which did not. I will say the top two gluten-free dishes that stood out were the oysters with some sort of strawberry pickled sauce and the yellowtail sashimi with gluten free Ponzo sauce and tangerine!

Seated at the bar- the bartender really couldn't be bothered with me as he was too busy bro lancing the dudes from denver ( use those terms cause they keep saying bro and dude and hand slapped like 12 time) they invited him to Denver and he promised them a hook up at the Carlton and In Miami cause he knows the boss- don't mind any of that but when the server asked if he had anyone needing help his response was "no just this girl" and continued to ignore me as he went about his bromance. The server she was very friendly and helpful and after waiting 23 min I was finally able to order a drink and she gave water. Given I just had a 12hr flight from hell I may have been less than patient with the crappy initial customer service but she was very friendly. I ordered a Glass of the 2020 Soracco and it was lovely, Then edemame- which was delicious with a smokey flavor to it. Followed this with Shrimp Tempura- Crispy well flavored and delicions, then did the Wagyu Tataki- perfectly tender, well seasoned with a perfect flavor combinaton. the Brussels Chimichurri and fried egg miso foam were perfect compliments to the meat. finished with a dessert that was simply delicous, I wsh had remembered the name. it was three friend crispy almost like cream puffs as filled with a cream deliciousness, a

Great sushi and great service. We had several friends in town that wanted sushi and Uchi Dallas never disappoints. The evening was fun and everyone enjoyed all of the items that we sampled. Fresh, expertly prepared, and delicious. Our waiter was awesome, and even took an Air Drop of my son's Apple Notes sushi list for our order! They have a great drink menu and lots of sake too.

Uchi in Dallas was outstanding. The sushi was excellent, and we focused mostly on sashimi, which was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared. The ham and eggs roll was something different we tried. It sounds unusual, but it was creative and really well executed. We sat at the bar so as expected service was attentive, and the overall experience lived up to the reputation. This is a must visit for sushi in Dallas.

I'm giving this a 4-star for ambiance, and knowledge by the server. The same was great but unfortunately the food didn't measure up to what I remembered months back the first time I tried this restaurant. I simply couldn't find the items we got that I liked last time. And the items we got except for one roll were par at best. I had brought friends here from Los Angeles and they too were less than impressed. We would have eaten more had we understood the menu better and had the first few things come out delicious. Sadly, for this reason I will not return. Just so many other restaurants to try or return to that was 5 star.

It's always a treat when we are able to visit Uchi. The menu is a bit overwhelming when deciding on what to order because there are so many unique items and not a lot of descriptions of what you're actually getting. Because of that, we tend to order the omakase (chef's choice) or somakase (waiter helps curate/select the items) and trust the restaurant to provide us with the most delicious foods. We have never had anything that we did not like/love. It's a must-try experience if you ever have an opportunity. Even the most basic nigiri sushi will have an unexpected ingredient/sauce/garnish that elevates it to something incredible. It's a very, very expensive meal but at least you'll never be disappointed with any of the food.

Im trying to make a reservation. I see Wine Bar and sushi bar options---which option is just a regular dining/table option?

On their website, the regular times without any specifications are normal tables. I see "Patio", "Sushi Bar", and regular times

When is happy hour?

Hi Cathy, Our happy hour is from 4 to 6pm at Uchi. Our sister restaurant Uchiba (right above uchi)…

Is it cold on the patio this time of year?

Hi Ashley! Outside on the patio we have fans/misters/heaters that are utilized at various points in the year. This winter there are 9 Bromic heaters that are evenly distributed on the patio.

I have a party 5+ for a family birthday. We are all looking to get omakase except for one of our party who has a fish allergy. Would it be possible for the table to get omakase minus that one person?

I'm sure they'd be able to do that! They always seem very flexible and I even had a vegan phase where they did a vegan omakase for me. One thing to be careful about are some of the soy sauces etc as sometimes they can have fish oils in them, so…

Would you say that it's good for a birthday and be able to fill you up?

Yes! It's nice for special occasions but you do spend quite a bit. I get full when I've racked up about $150-200

Does anyone know if they serve Omakase for one?

We have several options for our omakases. Each day, we feature a six course signature tasting and a ten course che'fs tasting that are designed for two people to share. If you sit at the sushi bar, your sushi chef can easily customize a meal for…

Is happy hour still available?

Yes, til 6:30!!

Do you have Gluten Free items on the menu?

Hello, John, We have many naturally gluten free options on the menu, as well as several sauce alternatives to make a large portion of our menu gluten free. We even have a…

Is miso soup still on menu?

Yes!

What are the vegan options?

Honestly this place is very easy. Just tell them you're vegan and they'll make up some rolls or side dishes for you. This is my top sushi place for me and I love it a lot! They have pickled veggies and mushrooms that are very tasty. I know for sure…

Is the valet service free or do we have to found our own parking?

Ues, friendly valet service is complimentary

What's the average price range for a dinner date for 2 people?

That's pretty much impossible to answer at a sushi place. It's not like a typical restaurant where you each order an entree. So it depends on how much sushi you order. You could get out of there for $150. Or you could get out of there for $400.

Is this place BYOB (bring your own beer or wine?

No, they are full service.

I'm a party of one. Can I come for dinner and just wait for a bar seat?

Yes! You can also make a reservation for 1 if you want to be safe - or take your chance waiting at either the wine bar or sushi bar (Both serve the full menu!)

Can you make a reservation for happy hour? If not, would it be difficult to get a spot for 6 people?

Sher O., You can absolutely make a reservation during our Sake Social Hour (what we call our Happy Hour). We would love to make a reservation for you party of 6. Call our…

Can a 17 year old have a drink with his parents presence and permission?

Johnny T is correct, TABC does allow for an establishment to server the parent/guardian, who can then server the minor. The parent/guardian must be present the entire time the minor has possession of an alcoholic beverage.…

What time is happy hour?

5-6:30pm

We went for brunch, which I will admit is overpriced. $75pp before drinks? Wow. Definitely go hungry. Were we mad at it though? Definitely not. It was my very first time going to Komodo and the first time experience was not the greatest. Before I go into my review, I did enjoy the ambiance, decor and food. The food was actually really good and the portions were decent. I ordered the wagyu beef dumplings and garlic noodles for starters. I initially chose the Peking duck and was super excited to try it. This is where it started to downhill... As we were ordering starters and drinks, the drinks came out fairly quick and the starters did take about 15-20 minutes which I understand it was a Saturday night. After most of the appetizers came out, we decided to order our entrees because we noticed how long the appetizers took. About hour and some time goes by, the waiter comes back to tell me they just ran out of Peking duck. Which was disappointing so I quickly ordered the Korean fried chicken. The timing with how they ran out the entrees was a whole mess. There were two food runners that were confused with the food orders. 1 of 8 of my friends got their food way before all of us, we had waited an additional 15 minutes before 2 more entrees came out. Oh! My second appetizer (garlic noodles) still haven't come out yet and some of my friends had their entrees....My Korean fried chicken came out but it was fairly quickly so I'm not sure they just threw it in real quick for an apology of taking so long. Two of the breasts we're hard and tough to cut. So then we waited and waited for my very last friend to get her Lo mein...it was an extra 45 minutes until she was able to get her food!!!!! Unacceptable. I was so irritated about that and just ruined the mood. We were all done eating our food by then. We were already frustrated and ready to go at that point, but as soon as she got her food, the veggies were undercooked and it was an overall upsetting situation. I wish I had a better outcome and better celebration for my birthday. I would only recommend this place if you have nothing to do..because you will be waiting for your food for a long time. I suggest to eat before you go and by the time you digest, your food will be ready

It was incredibly tender, rich, and flavorful--easily the most memorable dish of the evening. We also shared the Sashimi Lovers Platter, and every piece was exceptionally fresh, delicate, and so tender it practically melted in my mouth. We finished with the Wrath Roll, which combines salmon, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds, kizami wasabi, and smoked soy. It had a great balance of flavors and textures--the richness of the fish and avocado, the freshness of the cucumber, and just enough wasabi and smoked soy to give it a distinctive finish without overpowering the fish. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, upscale, and very comfortable. Jared, our waiter, was helpful throughout the evening and made an already wonderful experience even better. From the food and service to the atmosphere, everything was exceptional. I honestly think Musume may be the best sushi restaurant in the Metroplex--and if there is a better one, I want to know about it so I can try it next. You can tell they brew it and it doesn't come from a syrup. When I sat down, I was instantly greeted, and there were like four different people serving my table, I think that they all work as a team to make sure everything is covered. The service was just amazing. Restaurant is beautiful, the booths were , small and intimate and you feeling that you in place with privacy and yet part of the group ....kind of interesting how they've done that. But the food! The food was outstanding, first they gave me a complementary appetizer of Jasmine sticky rice with this eggplant chutney, that was very tasty, a teeny bit spicy, but really good depth with flavor. Then my beef Samosas arrived. There were four, wrapped in like a triangle rapper, smaller than the Indian version of the same, and the flavor was very tasty, and corn and small chopped potatoes, yum! The two chutneys that came with it one was a cool cucumber, and the other was this sweet and spicy plum sauce. They made samosas!!! They could be soft and cool, or they could be delicious and spicy, depending on chutney you had them with and you had a third option.... There was a bed of pickled radish and carrot that really sit off the samosas as well and we're just delicious on their own. I devoured the entire thing. Then get the entrée. I had drunken noodles and I added the shredded pork... It was devastatingly tasty!!! the noodles were obviously done it a wok that's been seasoned to perfection. The wide noodles picked up all that deliciousness from the wok and then combined with the pork... heaven ! They had large pieces of bell pepper and tomatoes. very fresh onions... Just deliciousness. I was too full this time to get dessert, but I'm definitely coming back and I will definitely try it next time

There's just been truly so many outstanding experiences I've had in Houston. Regardless, the food was very good and it was authentic, we did get dishes similar to what we got at Street to Kitchen in Houston, which is the most authentic Thai we've had. Food: I forgot to take pictures of two other dishes we ordered, the Thai chicken, wings, and the drunken noodles. But let me start with the complementary sticky rice. I've actually never had a complementary "starter" at a Thai restaurant, so they stood out, and it was a good meal prepper. The dip is an eggplant type of dip so it's not peanut sauce based. It was really good. The best dish was the crab dip with the shrimp chips, the dip was curried and balanced well with the crab. The chicken wings weren't as crispy as we're used to, and there were more on the saucy side, but it was a solid 4/5 dish. The drunken noodles were good and I feel like they had a great mix of veggies, beef, and noodles in the dish, so it wasn't so carb heavy. But we've definitely had better flavor drunken noodles before. Lastly, the mango sticky rice presentation was unlike anything I've seen before, and I loved it. Do I prefer the traditional sliced mango over a bit of rice? Perhaps. But I did enjoy tasting the mango and the condensed milk and a sticky rice together inside the coconut for a change. Service: we went during dinnertime on a Saturday night, and I was so impressed with the level of service we had. Because don't get me wrong, they were busy, but the food came out so fast & we had multiple servers filling up our water and ensuring we're doing okay. We were literally out of there in about an hour, but it wasn't because they were pushing us out, it was truly because everything was so quick. And I loved that strategy they used where we didn't have just one server assigned to us, which is probably why they are thriving here in Dallas. Overall, if you're craving Thai, I would recommend coming here.
