We recently moved from MA to SC. We chose UPack over others because they were as much as 2/3 less costly as their competitors. They aren't perfect - you must account for open storage at freight terminals - and they did make a sizable billing mistake, but they corrected it as soon as it was questioned. It was a great experience. they were exactly on time. great drivers. courteous and very nice. They were very professional drivers and were able to get a 28 foot trailer To my house in Boston on those tiny streets With low hanging wires. They need to improve the bulkhead situation. The bulkheads don't fit in correctly and when the truck showed up in New Mexico those were flat out on the floor of the trailer And everything fell forward. my suggestion is to strap in your stuff by section so that doesn't happen. remember, packing is up to you so don't get mad if your stuff shows up all over the place. I used the 28' truck where you only pay for what you use, with a minimum of 5'. This was by far, the cheapest moving option I could find for moving cross country, the truck was delivered and collected on time at both locations, the drivers and staff were very friencly and helpful, and the transit took less time than they had initially quoted, and when it arrived at the destination, they were willing to hold it for a few days because of the bad winter weather we were experiencing which would have made parking the truck and unloading the items very difficult. Best moving experience that I have ever had and I will definitely recommend them to family and friends! read more

UPack says on their website, "The price may be lower than other moving companies, but the level of service isn't" My experience with them was the complete opposite of what they say. This will be my first time leaving a negative review of a business and I must do so this time because people deserve to know the truth. I'll keep it simple. Do not trust them saying what day or time the container will arrive. It will change at any time. If you are moving to a different state, this will create a huge mess in scheduling your move. They apparently transport some other stuff besides your stuff in the same container. This led to ants' infestation and all my stuff being covered in filth. The ants were found everywhere even inside a washer. (I will send you video clips if you request me.) Things can surely happen. But what should not happen is total ignorance to a customer who is trying to communicate this in a polite and respectful manner. More than a month has passed since I first contacted them and there is still no response. I even filed a claim through the website and sent multiple emails. I wonder if they are just filtering all claims emails because there are so many. I'm going to continue to reach them until I am no longer ignored and rightfully compensated for all the losses. read more

We have moved half a dozen times due to work requirements and work would typically cover the cost of the move. When we recently moved from Boston area to Florida on our dime, we unbundled the project into its parts (packers and loaders, transportation, and unloading and unpacking). We contacted U-Pack who delivered a 26' trailer the day before the packers were set to arrive and parked it exactly where we needed it. When the loaders were finished, U-Pack came back, hooked up the trailer, and off they went. They arrived in FL several days before scheduled but kept the trailer until we were ready to unload. The customer service folks were terrific, courteous and graciously adjusting to changes in our load / unload dates. If you have to move, going this route easily saves 50% from traditional full-service moving companies. A great company. read more

Our experience with Upack was fantastic. We received a quote from them as well as others and they were the lowest. We booked with Upack, the move did not happen for over a year as prices went crazy. The price we were quoted was the price we paid even the year later. Drop off on both ends were on time and all it took was a call for pickup. Their website tool for calculating was great and the unit holds more than you think. With good packing, everything made it safely to the dropoff point. Generally great experience. We used ABF to move from California to Maine and had our cube delivered to this location. The customer service at this end was great. They were very communicative and coherent. Our cube arrived early and there was the issue of coordinating around a national holiday. The staff here was pleasant to deal with and actually took initiative in contacting us about our cube arriving early. They were also gracious enough to give us some time (1-2 days) extra on when we picked up the cube. Technically you need to pick up your cube within a certain time frame after it touches down at the arrival terminal). We were driving cross-country and unfortunately the truck with our cube drove a couple days faster than us! Pros: No damage, friendly & helpful staff, great communicators, open late Cons: The entry to the lot was a bit hard to find off the freeway (you can see the sign but it was not obvious how to get into the place) Anyways, great experience. I would recommend the ABF service in general and this location in particular seems to have great employees! read more

This is the way to go if you are moving. They delivered the trailer on time picked it up and moved it to the terminal at our new location. There they waited for our call to deliver. Due to our delayed closing they accommodated us with a reasonable storage fee for the trailer. Their customer service is excellent. I always had a feeling of confidence with them. Thursday night, U-pack moving dropped off someones' cube outside of my friend's apartment building. There are a couple of parking spaces outside of her complex for visitors. This night they were all full, except for the handicap spot. So U-pack dropped the cube in the handicap parking space!!! I think that is absolutely disgusting behavior! read more

Moved from NH to CA - 3,000 miles. THEY WERE ON-TIME - This was the most important part of my move!! Thank You! Reasonable prices! Fair for the quality service! Costed me $3,100 for 9 feet of space in the freight. Great customer service - nice people, easy call-backs, answered all my questions. Great drivers - At pick-up and drop-off - Very nice men who seemed to like their job. My problem was the amount of damage to my furniture due to movement. The back of my dresser was smashed in (still usable), my Ethan Allen dining table had large scuff marks, coffee table had a large gash in the top. Everything was wrapped (by professional movers) in blankets, shrink wrapped and strapped down. Even with all the precautions, still had large amounts of damage which made me pretty upset upon arrival. In the future, I will rent a Uhaul and drive my belongings across the country myself. U-pack is great if you want your belongings delivered on time at a reasonable price, but don't mind being tossed around a bit - comes with the territory, I guess). read more

No matter where you're moving to or what you're moving moving is expensive and stressful. On top of that if it's very difficult to identify a moving company that you can trust, there are so many and if you somehow get in the loop you will get dozens of phone calls from various companies. About four days before I wanted to move my goods that were in storage someone told me about U-Pack, that they were reliable and the least expensive way to move from the east coast to the west coast. Given that the price difference was $2000 less than the next competitor, and that customer service representative was very helpful when I called in, the process was very smooth and easy I decided to trust the company to move some very important items across country. I can't say enough about this company, they were easy to work with, completely reliable, super friendly and it was all so easy it almost didn't seem real. Let me start by saying that we are so thankful and appreciative of UPack company and awesome service! We have at first reserved a local business movers to completely move us from NH to TX Jan 29th 2018 a month beforehand to be prepared and all. The company in North Hampton NH is called Preferred Movers that claimed they do weekly long distances from NH to South of USA... the owner Patrick Briemer as nd his sales guy Zack come to our 650 square feet apt in Hampton to give us an estimate asnd sign contract if we like his pricing on a Friday morning weeks before the big move date. Seems like they are nice guys and all and reassure us that they often do this long distance move and not to worry. He said he will be able to load the truck on Jan 29th around 7am to 9am and have it delivered and unload to our new home in TX around February 8th. We accepted and we started packing and all. Mind you we call at least 3 weeks ahead to plan this. Now let's fasforward this to Jan 24th Wednesday before the big moving date Monday Jan 29th pickup. The owner calls me up and tells me that he lost another big shipment that was supposed to go South with our stuff because our load was not very big. He ends up saying as a courtesy call he will still be able to pickup our things on Jan 29th but will only delivered our things around February 19th..thats if he can signup another household to go South with our things!!! 3 ling weeks minimum to wait without all our house belongings 2000 miles away. We were furious! He said he will make some calls to a sister company called Ray the Mover in Manchester NH (another lying and no ethic company btw). We are only few days away from the move and we have a bunch of our pets to drive cross country for 27 hours and we won't have our things at least for another 3 weeks! We are panicking, furious, disappointed and worried. We tried to call him back the next day Thursday Jan 25th, the following day after Friday Jan 26th to no avail the owner Patrick Brieme and his sales guy Zack never answer or call back. Friday all morning I call all different local movers but with no success due to last minute notice no one has availability to move us in three days which would be Monday Jan 29th. We freaked out, I drove to Preferred Movers in North Hampton 10 min away... and tried to see if the owner was there or Zack his saslesguy. Only to findout that none of those two were there but their secretary. I was upset but remained calm. Told the secretary about the situation and she tells me: that they rarely drive to TX and sometimes have shipements to FL only but dont believe they ever went to TX! After she called Patrick the owner who would ignore our calls few days before our move he chickened out didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me and I was standing there listening to his and her conversation. I canceled our reservation right on the spot and she gave me the excuse that he is having the flu and all but could still pickup our things Monday and ship it out whenever he finds another big load to ship out with our things! Not acceptable, disrespectful, unprofessional, and unreliable business. After she hangs up the secretary had the audacity to offer me her own husbands phone number to help load our things into containers if we were to use UPACK. She tells me to keep this between her and I because her boss Patrick doesn't know that her husband does work on the side....WOW. What kind of local business is this? Its own secretary / employee is trying to get her own husband some side business being her own boss back...NO THANK YOU. I left and went home. At last we called UPACK. A very nice man picked up and said they would be able to deliver Monday Jan 29th two small Relocubes to us right in front of our apt in NH but we will have to move load ourselves. At this point we needed to be moved out by then so we didn't care my partner and I would do our own move. UPACK texted me and an agent even called us 1 hour before they delivered the Relocubes. We're there on time no hassle placed right where we wanted them. We loaded both Relocubes to their fullest and only had to click a link and called UPACK and set our containers to be picked up two days later Jan 31st and we didn't need to be present as we were leaving for a long road trip that same morning. Our neighbor downstairs texted us few hours later to let us know the cubes were being picked up on time like UPACK promised us. Guess what, the day before our shipment was dropped off the texted us that it will be delivered guaranteed date Monday Feb 5th!!!! That's awesome. Arrived right on time, nice gentleman came and asked us where we want it to be placed. So it arrived Monday Feb 5th to TX from NH and we unloaded the containers and our cubes were picked up Wednesday Feb 7th without us being present. UPACK WERE OUR SAVIORS. EXCELLENT customer service, RELIABLE, on time. They meant what they said and promised! We will definitely use them again THANK YOU UPACK TEAM. read more

This is the terminal where I picked up my things after a cross-country move from Los Angeles. The staff was very friendly and even tracked down someone there who could give us directions to the nearest Starbucks since we arrived early and my truck wasn't quite ready to be unloaded. ABF U-Pack was a great company to use for a cross country move, they are much cheaper than all other options, if you don't mind loading the truck yourself. I have used ABF 3 times now for cross country moves; used the cube once and the trailer twice. it is the least expensive move that I have been able to find. Jerry in Sebastopol was great support with two moves; and all the drivers that worked with my moves were Excellent; and office staff was polite and helpful. they deliver on time. there was never any problem with or damage to any of my stuff, so I would highly recommend them and use them again. read more

We moved from Massachusetts to California and could not be more pleased! These are the things we loved most: (1) Phenomenal customer service! Any time I called, the phone was answered almost immediately by a real person - no automated recordings, no pressing this and that, and no waiting on hold (a rare thing these days!). (2) Their website is very easy to use, and I loved that I was able to get a price quote right away by entering minimal information. It also has lots of good tips and instructions, including a moving checklist and videos on how to pack the cubes. (3) The actual moving process was extremely efficient. Our cube was dropped off and picked up and placed into storage as and when promised, and we were kept informed every step of the way. (4) The price was very reasonable, especially when compared to other options. The price was quoted right up front, and there were no hidden costs or fees. A long-distance move can be very stressful, but we did not have to worry about the physical move of our belongings.
