TL;DR I was in a pickle and Bradford Movers got me out of it. The story: I've been looking for an armoire for my bathroom for quite awhile. I finally found one I could work with (paint & pretty up) for $50. Got a friend to help me with the pick up of said armoire. So far, so good. Another friend helped with the getting it upstairs when we got it home. I'll be the first to admit my stairway isn't easy. It takes two turns and the one at the top is tricky. Well that second turn was the one that my two helpers declared themselves stuck. They decided, I disagreed, that it would be best to leave the armoire on the 3' x 3' landing that is the second turn. I tried to veto that but I was outvoted. Now it was crunch time. I had to either find a professional to help or live with squeezing past this armoire that took up half the landing. I started calling. Mover A charges a 2 hour minimum - $230 (ouch!). Mover B, similar story $180. I started to think about whether I could live with this armoire there. Nope. I was at the desperate point calling/emailing every friend and leaving messages with other movers. Then Donny at Bradford Movers called me back. Was I a little worried when he quoted me only $50? Truth be told, yes I was. Mom always taught me you get what you pay for. But I was desperate. He told me he couldn't come out that day - reasonable - but could come the next morning at 8AM. The boss showed up with three guys this morning, early even. They were in and out in about 6 minutes. It took them a whopping 4 minutes to get it up and into the room. So my bargain armoire cost more than I wanted but Bradford Movers got me out of a jam and I thank them for that. read more

We needed two sets of couches swapped between floors of our condo. Gone are the days I could invite a friend over and conveniently ask if he could lend a hand moving a heavy convertible bed sofa. I contacted Bradford Movers Tuesday explained the job, received the price for the job and learned the job could be done Friday of the same week. The movers arrived as promised. They were particularly careful and covered banisters railings with pads. The job was completed in about 15 minutes and the couches placed as requested. Job was well done and done quickly. On three separate occasions, several months apart, I have called, gotten an answering machine, followed the directions on the answering machine (Name, what sort of move, date of move, please speak slowly, leave name and phone number) and in all three cases, I have been ignored. I have heard nothing but good, but you can't prove it by me. read more

They get the job done in record time and have a great organized plan in how they pack and unpack. I do not recommend. The move itself went OK. Donny's guys were friendly and efficient. However, we did have some problems. He did NOT wrap any of my higher end expensive electronics to move or store them. You don't pick up a $2000 TV with your bare hands, bounce it around in a moving truck unprotected, and leave it uncovered in storage with dust flying around and settling on it. Same goes for mirrors and other breakables. He also destroyed my lawn with his truck and I had huge issues with the new homeowner over it at the walkthrough before the closing. I had 6 foot by 9 inch by tire-width tire tracks dug into my back lawn and lighter damage to my front lawn for which he refused to make amends. I have photos. And he was just rude. We underestimated the load, and needed to increase compensation. No problem there. I'd didn't flinch. And the way he asked me if I could pay him showed terrible manners and a lack of professionalism. I gave him several chances to make amends over for the lawn damage over several weeks and he ignored me. read more

I would give them a zero if it was possible. They were 4 hours late and no phone call. When they finally came they were not prepared to move any of the items that we had. They almost left us there would no options to get out of our condo. When we finally got to our new home, they managed to damage the floors the walls and many of our items. I cannot express how horrible our experience was with this mover. read more

They were amazing! Donny and his crew were incredibly friendly and professional. We needed some same-day loading help and they made it happen - no problem! Bradford movers broke a light in the hallway and also packed boxes marked heavy on top of boxes marked fragile! Many broken expensive glass items from Simon Pearce. I have made multiple phone calls with no return. I've been unable to replace the vintage glass that was broken and there are three matching lights. I would never ever use them again. These guys are great. We had to move a refrigerator from Newburyport to a condo in Amesbury. Donnie called back the same day and said they could do the job the next morning. He showed up with a full crew and made a tricky job look easy. They had to go up a snow-covered hill, around the back of the condo, over ice and in through a window. No sweat. Very nice people and characters to boot. His price was more than reasonable as well. I'll call any time that I need a mover for large or small jobs. read more

I wish I could give this company zero stars. They were scheduled to move us out at 2 PM. 2:30, 2:45, 3:00 goes by- they had not called us nor answered our many phone calls. We called a bunch of times and left two polite messages asking when they would be here, 3:45 rolls around and we have heard nothing at all from them. We decided to call on a different number to see if they were just dodging our calls and it turns out they were. A woman picked up after two rings. I said who I was and that we were waiting and wondering where they were, and she became very angry and disrespectful. I had to ask her multiple times to please calm down and try to understand that we were sitting in our apartment with everything packed on the last day of the month. Our apartment is officially not ours tomorrow and we need to be out tonight. Finally at around 4:15 we spoke to one of the men driving the trucks and he said they were running 2-3 hours behind. I am completely understanding of the fact that things happen and people run late, however, the fact that they did not attempt to contact us and also ignored our phone calls is especially unacceptable. He told us he would call when they finished the job they were currently working on. It is currently 7:30 PM and we have not heard anything from them. They are now 5 and a half hours late, have treated us with complete disrespect and have left us in a really terrible spot- it is the last of the month so every other moving company we attempted to call was obviously booked, and our lease is up. I would avoid this company at all costs. Final result: they showed up around 8:45 PM and charged us full price. Ridiculous. read more
