Heavily damaged furniture, calls to owner not returned, appointments to "fix" furniture repeatedly canceled, told Old English would fix gouges down the front of a bureau, charged way above quote, piece of furniture left behind, a bureau drawer won't close, etc. Owner was there in a minute when I wanted a quote, yet when confronted on the aforementioned issues, he became rude and dismissive. The first was fine, the second she was overcharged and the crew was terrible, taking smoke breaks, arrived in 2 rental trucks and had to pay for their time to switch them out. She called again and spoke to Doug for her third move. He apologized for the last experience and said he would personally be there and would take care of her. On moving day, he was non existent, had to be called to show up. When he did he degraded her, acted like he didn't know a thing, and demanded a cash payment. I hired them last year to move a piano and was quoted $350. Only two movers showed up and told me that I would have to help them! I was the third mover and almost seriously hurt myself moving a piano. I was still charged $350 at the end! The two men that showed up argued with each other a lot and talked behind each other's backs. They damaged my stairs and broke an electrical outlet while moving. After getting off the phone with his boss, he told me that the insurance company would arrive in a day or two to assess the damage. I overheard his telephone call with his boss and he never mentioned anything about the damage. He lied to me. I called the owner and confirmed it by telling him about the damage and he had no idea. I was told that he would personally come to my house to fix the damage but I have never heard from him again. I do not recommend this company. read more

They tried to put large items through small doors just to get it where we wanted it. Doug, the owner, who is 75 and can barely walk came over to give us a quote a week ago to move some furniture in our home to other rooms within our home. He stated it required 3 men with a minimum of 4 hrs for just under $700.00. We agreed and gave a deposit of $100.00 and we were scheduled for Tuesday Oct. 6 at 9:00 A.M. for the job. On 10/6 at 9:00 A.M. only 2 guys show up and said that the 3rd guy did not come to work that day. When we called the office we were given a run around and finally given Doug's number. We called him and he stated he would resolve it and call me back. Our request was to reschedule the job. He never called back, but had Derrick contact us to say that they would not be doing the job and would be refunding our deposit. I called Doug to find out what was going on and he stated that he did not want to do business with us after were inconvenienced and had spent hours moving items in preparation for the movers doing their job. The owner lied to us a couple times. During the delivery, one of the movers was hinting for a big tip which we found unprofessional and when they were tipped he wanted the money from one of the other movers who owed him and did the exchange in front us. It was awkward. There was a big gouge in our $5000 China cabinet and their "fix" was a bottle of Old English. There was dents on our sideboard. Broke, damaged, gouged, scratched, or destroyed nearly ever piece of wood furniture we owned (futon, bed, hand painted tables, glass top table, table legs, chairs, etc). Damaged door frames, walls during the move. Very inexperienced college kids moving the furniture for their summer jobs! Our couch needed to be professionally cleaned after the move! All calls made to owner (Doug) to resolve this claim for damages have been ignored and we have not had any resolution to our issues. Doug has been rude since the beginning, I cancelled the move after I first met him, and I was talked out of it. My instincts proved to be correct--they were a bad unprofessional from the start and proved to be to the end! Our recourse may be legal at this point.
