I have moved 15 times in my career and this company is by far the WORST moving company that I have ever used or dealt with. The packers didn't pack what they were supposed to so the people that were loading the truck had to do it and just threw things in boxes. The delivery date for my goods was set 60 days prior delivery at 0800. Without ANY COMMUNICATION they changed the delivery date over a week later at 1000 the morning that they were supposed to deliver the good. The move was literally cross country therefore they knew well before after the delivery time that they would not be there if they were still a week out. Also, in all my times moving I have never had as much damage to my goods as in this move. they hit the front end of my car into something and then only partially paid for the damage with quotes and contact information from the repair shop provide. they scratched my TVs, broke lamps, scraped paint on the walls in my brand new house and paid for none of it. Save yourself the trouble pick any mover other thank this company!! In every move things have the risk of getting damaged but all other 14 companies paid for the damage that they cause. This company WILL NOT unless you pay for a lawyer and take them to court. More time and money out of your pocket!! read more

We hired United Van Lines for a long distance move from NH to Fl. Movers came on the 20th and were courteous and efficient. Delivery was scheduled between the 25th and 27th. When we noticed on the 22nd the shipment wasn't showing in the the United system we reached out to our "moving coordinator"- no response. On the 25th we called several times and finally got through to someone who said it was delayed and would call back later after checking on expediting- no apologies and no call back. Called again on the 26th- VM left. Received a response later that day that it was delayed, nothing they could do, would be a week late. Next communication was from the driver (another company) who was the first to apologize and communicate effectively. Delivery was not only late but had a couple damaged pieces so now we have to circle back through United. For $12,000 we expected much better communication, dependability and at the very least a "moving coordinator " that doesn't ghost when they screw up. 2 stars only because of the actual movers but administratively, this company is poorly run- caution if United farms out your move to these guys. read more

Highly recommend this moving company. I reached out about something I was buying at a big box retail store. It was too heavy to pickup and move myself. I contacted a few companies and Andresen was the best to respond immediately. I was happy to hire a local company also. They said they would pickup the item on their way back while in that area and deliver. That's exactly what they did and moved the item to the location I needed to have it placed. Very responsive and attentive. A couple months later I contacted about moving that item again and was given a very reasonable and affordable price to move the item. We used T.E. Andresen for a local residential move. They were simply phenomenal, I cannot believe how great they were. As everyone knows, moving is super stressful, but Andresen made the move literally stress free. They packed all of our belongings, and moved everything down our ridiculously cramped condo and into our new home. First, lets start with the packing, these guys (Harry, Bobby, and Jeff) packed super efficiently, faster than we would ever be able to pack alone. They brought all of the packing materials: boxes, tape, packing paper. They didn't want us to touch anything, and told me and my wife to just take a break. They were professional, respectful, and courteous. Now onto the actual move itself, I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful crew of movers (Louis, Louis Jr, Martine, and Gaspar) , who were true gentlemen. They again moved an inordinate amount of stuff from our home super efficiently, quickly, and without a complaint. My wife and I were getting physically tired just watching them moving these massive boxes and pieces of furniture. They worked smart fitting whatever they could into our microscopic elevator. They dismantled anything that couldn't get through the doors. They must all be experts at Tetris, because I could not believe how they were able to fit these boxes and pieces of furniture down our tiny stair case and elevator. They also worked well together, moving in unison and moving massive pieces of furniture in synchrony. If you could imagine moving a large piece of furniture to be graceful, well this is it. The guys treated our stuff like their own, moving things gingerly without a hint of damage to our stuff or to the building itself. With the move into our new home, again they worked quickly, gracefully moving the boxes as requested into specific rooms, and arranging pieces of furniture for us. They then put back together all of the pieces of furniture they had to disassemble in order to get them out of our condo. Again they worked smart, they placed their truck up against our front staircase with a ramp, so that they could avoid climbing an additional 10 steps, working smarter! You see what I am saying here! These guys are doing it right! As someone else mentioned, I cannot say enough good things about this moving company and their crew. They are worth every penny and then some. We used this company to make a relatively short move around the North Shore, and I would highly recommend them. We worked with a friendly, professional salesman named Jim who came to our place and spent time going through each room so that he could give us a fair estimate. I called a few other places afterwards and while some were cheaper, it was only because they said they could do it in less time, but charged the same amount. I also called some places like Gentle Giant who quoted nearly twice as much! One really great thing was that they gave us about 25 huge, solid moving boxes, which for anyone who has moved before knows, you never seem to have enough of those. The movers showed up around 8:30am on moving day, and were all very friendly and hard working (not the unfriendly, lazy teenagers I was worried we would get). We did have one dropped box, which I think is to be expected, but nothing broke. We also didn't have a single scratch on any of our furniture, as they were very careful with everything. Best of all, they came in 1.5 hours under estimated time! Though to be honest, we did move a bit of things ourselves the weeks before. In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend this company for a move. Check their BBB rating as well, as that helped convince us. read more

I contracted with Andreson for a much-dreaded move across the north shore. From the first phone conversation to paying the bill (UNDER the estimate!) everything was great. I got a quote from the salesperson that really walked me through the packing process. He was very precise and accurate, which happily resulted in the aforementioned quote. The coordinator, Patti, is very friendly and helpful and checks in to see how the move is progressing. The movers were efficient, helpful and friendly. Was just reading an article on Yahoo about moving horror stories and was reminded of what a great experience I had with Andresen so I figured I'd give them a shout out. Five years ago my fiance and I bought a house. Not only did we both need to move our stuff out of our respective apartments but I needed to put my stuff in storage for a month or two since our new place wasn't ready yet when I sold my condo. Add to that the fact that her apartment was a fourth floor walk-up and it was obvious it was not a do-it-yourself move - we needed to hire some pros. We had no idea who to call so we asked our realtor, who is also my sister-in-law, if she could recomend someone. She referred us to Andresen and let me tell you, these guys were great. They were extremely courteous and professional and were very careful with our stuff. As far as the cost, we didn't get any other quotes but as far as I can tell their prices seemed very reasonable. All told it cost us about $2000, which included two separate moves on two days, from two apartments (and again, one was a fourth floor walk-up) as well as the cost to keep my stuff in storage for a little over a month. And here's the kicker - a week or two after we had moved, they called us to tell us that they had discovered a mistake in the billing. They had overcharged us by $400 and were sending us a check. Most stories you hear about movers involve them overcharging people and adding all kinds of hidden fees and expenses...you can imagine what a pleasant surprise it was to get a refund of $400, especially considering that it was something we never would have caught on our own. First time using a moving company so I didn't know what to expect. Used them for a move from NH Seacoast to Peabody. I knew I was going to pay them hourly, so I was nervous about them taking their sweet time as I have heard many companies will do. Not the case at all! They are quick, extremely efficient, and professional. My move involved items being hoisted over a balcony to a second floor apartment so I was EXTRA nervous about that part. They knew exactly what they were doing and took every precaution to make sure none of my furniture, or the deck they were lifting it over, would be damaged. I even had a few friends/family members there as extra hands, but they insisted we didn't need to lift a finger, they had everything under control. I couldn't thank these guys enough. I had them help me with a move last week and was very impressed. First off I just moved into a storage facility so I was fully aware of the amount of work involved but I just didn't have the energy to then move everything again. I have never had someone move for me as I like to save money where I can. I also am particular about my things and don't like them taking abuse. I unlike other reviewers was informed about the minimum and price prior to starting the job but expected the job to take more than four hours. I was happy to hear they charge an hourly rate and felt the price was very fair. Three gentlemen showed up on time and got right into the job. They were completely prepared for everything they needed. They had a large truck and enough blankets to protect EVERYTHING that would fill it. They also had protection for my house on the other end. They worked at a steady pace the entire day and didn't take a break longer than a moment to stay hydrated. I watched the entire time to make sure everything ended up in the right place and they didn't make it uncomfortable to do so. I think an item or two getting banged up is par for the course but there was not a single thing I noticed damaged and the house was well cared for as well. I won't ever move again by myself. I used Andresen many years ago to move a grand piano from east coast to west coast, so when we wanted to relocate back to the east coast we decided to use them again. Jack Hennessey is really friendly and is willing to delve into issues to resolve them. We were confused about when the local contractor with United was going to come and I was pretty anxious since it had to be on the designated day. Jack made some calls and got the real answers - there never was an issue, but he got specifics that assured us that everything was going to go smoothly with an on-time move. The movers were very professional and protected all our stuff. Only 2 small glass items broke in the entire household move and I consider that a very good result.
