It just makes the process so much easier and the one-way rental means I don't have to pull it back home with me. If you are like I used to be stuffing everything in the car, van or truck where your visibility is compromised and barely enough room for everyone to ride comfortably you ought to try renting a U-Haul trailer next time! And when it's time to come home at the end of the year a one-way box truck rental for my son and two friends who pack up all three of their rooms and drop each person and their stuff off along the way. While there trying…read moreto get my problem resolved, another customer was dealing with one-way charges and changes and getting the run around. So it's not just me. My problem? Some simple hitch work (electronics) after adjusting my schedule to fit theirs (not available Monday, but any other time that week), I had a scheduled DROP OFF to have the max two hours of work done. When I called at noon to get a status, the person who was to do it wasn't in yet. by 3PM I reached him, but was told they were out getting a part, but likely wouldn't have it by end of day; no explanation why a 9AM appointment wasn't started - or even scheduled with no staff on hand to do the work. I said OK, I understand. They promised it for Tuesday morning before noon. By Tuesday at 10 AM, I called to make sure they were on it (I was starting to get suspicious), and after 10 minutes on the phone of "we don't have your car, we don't know of any work", I was told no one was available to do the work, it would take a 3rd day when mechanics get in. Trying to escalate to a manager was fruitless, and my calls weren't getting answered (unless I turned my caller ID off); finally went in person and the desk person sympathized, but felt powerless, it was her second week on the job (she was clearly being told to play dumb, while the others were hiding). I left and took my business elsewhere - probably $300-400 worth of work lost to them, and a great inconvenience to me. Caveat Emptor. Worst retail experience I ever had. Lots of other rental places - Kelly's in Newburyport (https://kellystaylorrental.com/) for one) ; Play it safe and avoid this poorly managed business.

    Aweful place with mice and rats... terrible customer service; ask them if they treat for pests…read more. THEY CANT because it's a wet marsh area -- UNITS pass thru up top and get SUPER DUSTY weekly. The filth of constant mice droppings, bugs and dust... would _N.E.V.E.R_ rent here again.

Lots of mice droppings on top of my plastic crates. My biggest problem is how they raise costs. Twice in 18 months. Last year (2023) my unit increased and I tried to call to negotiate but could not get through and so I emailed the manager directly without a response. That's problem number one with cost increases. When I tried to explain this, the manager (Curtis) got very defensive and prattled on without allowing me to provide him with what I'm about to state in this review. Not the best customer service. On November 30, 2023 I received notice that the rent on my 5x10 unit was being raised to $150 per month. So I quickly booked the same size unit over at Extra Space in Salisbury for $65 per month and moved out on December 2nd. Issues that I have - the rent increase notice comes on November 30, leaving no time to move out before incurring another month's rent. There are no refunds. The notices for increase in both years (2022 and 2023) come during a time of year when people would be busy with the holidays and at a time of year where it could potentially be too cold to move. That stopped me last year from moving but that wasn't going to happen again this year. I didn't bother calling or emailing this year based on my experience from the previous year. I simply moved to a cleaner, newer and less expensive unit on December 2 (first Saturday after receiving rent increase notice in the mail). I still have to pay rent for December of course since I was still in the unit on December 1, but they leave you no option since the rent increase comes via post on November 30. A mid month notice would help so any move out could happen before rent is due for the next month. Easy since they have my email and cell phone but they choose to force you into renting for another month. Why didn't I just stay for December since I paid? Because I knew the weather this weekend is in the 40s and I don't know what the weather will look like if I waited to move in late December. Also take note that late December is Xmas and New Years. Seems to be a pretty good (sarcasm) tactic on the part of Cube Smart to make it very difficult to move out. Note that I had 2 increases in only 1.5 years. Also note that it took me less than 1 hour to pick up a van for $19 and move everything to another company/unit. Anyone with a smaller unit like mine should be aware of how easy it is to move to a new location and not bow to these tactics of late notice during the cold and busy months.

    TL;DR I was in a pickle and Bradford Movers got me out of it…read more The story: I've been looking for an armoire for my bathroom for quite awhile. I finally found one I could work with (paint & pretty up) for $50. Got a friend to help me with the pick up of said armoire. So far, so good. Another friend helped with the getting it upstairs when we got it home. I'll be the first to admit my stairway isn't easy. It takes two turns and the one at the top is tricky. Well that second turn was the one that my two helpers declared themselves stuck. They decided, I disagreed, that it would be best to leave the armoire on the 3' x 3' landing that is the second turn. I tried to veto that but I was outvoted. Now it was crunch time. I had to either find a professional to help or live with squeezing past this armoire that took up half the landing. I started calling. Mover A charges a 2 hour minimum - $230 (ouch!). Mover B, similar story $180. I started to think about whether I could live with this armoire there. Nope. I was at the desperate point calling/emailing every friend and leaving messages with other movers. Then Donny at Bradford Movers called me back. Was I a little worried when he quoted me only $50? Truth be told, yes I was. Mom always taught me you get what you pay for. But I was desperate. He told me he couldn't come out that day - reasonable - but could come the next morning at 8AM. The boss showed up with three guys this morning, early even. They were in and out in about 6 minutes. It took them a whopping 4 minutes to get it up and into the room. So my bargain armoire cost more than I wanted but Bradford Movers got me out of a jam and I thank them for that.
