Fine I guess , as far as they have units and you put your stuff in them. My unit seemed dirty with insulation falling from the ceiling. Lots of mice droppings on top of my plastic crates. My biggest problem is how they raise costs. Twice in 18 months. Last year (2023) my unit increased and I tried to call to negotiate but could not get through and so I emailed the manager directly without a response. That's problem number one with cost increases. When I tried to explain this, the manager (Curtis) got very defensive and prattled on without allowing me to provide him with what I'm about to state in this review. Not the best customer service. On November 30, 2023 I received notice that the rent on my 5x10 unit was being raised to $150 per month. So I quickly booked the same size unit over at Extra Space in Salisbury for $65 per month and moved out on December 2nd. Issues that I have - the rent increase notice comes on November 30, leaving no time to move out before incurring another month's rent. There are no refunds. The notices for increase in both years (2022 and 2023) come during a time of year when people would be busy with the holidays and at a time of year where it could potentially be too cold to move. That stopped me last year from moving but that wasn't going to happen again this year. I didn't bother calling or emailing this year based on my experience from the previous year. I simply moved to a cleaner, newer and less expensive unit on December 2 (first Saturday after receiving rent increase notice in the mail). I still have to pay rent for December of course since I was still in the unit on December 1, but they leave you no option since the rent increase comes via post on November 30. A mid month notice would help so any move out could happen before rent is due for the next month. Easy since they have my email and cell phone but they choose to force you into renting for another month. Why didn't I just stay for December since I paid? Because I knew the weather this weekend is in the 40s and I don't know what the weather will look like if I waited to move in late December. Also take note that late December is Xmas and New Years. Seems to be a pretty good (sarcasm) tactic on the part of Cube Smart to make it very difficult to move out. Note that I had 2 increases in only 1.5 years. Also note that it took me less than 1 hour to pick up a van for $19 and move everything to another company/unit. Anyone with a smaller unit like mine should be aware of how easy it is to move to a new location and not bow to these tactics of late notice during the cold and busy months. read more

Paid for 100 square feet. Got 76 square feet. The door sticks on the tracks. You can't access either keypad from inside your vehicle. Good luck finding the keypad to exit. Sorry. No spoilers. The actual metal box is as you would expect. read more

If I could do negative stars I would. Women, beware!!! The general manager, Curtis Valcourt, loves to berate and belittle women!!!! I got my first storage unit with the tonight. They claim in their confirmation email they sent me that you can completely register and enter your storage unit "contactless" due to covid if you prefer. Not necessarily why we chose this option, but it was easiest and their office was closed. In the instructions it says clearly to enter gate code and get to your unit. There will be a temp lock on the door and inside your unit is the padlock (we paid extra for it). Well, low and behold after many other issues even getting in to the complex, we finally made it inside our unit. There was NO PADLOCK. The one I paid for was NOT in there. I called back to ask where it was and I got the general manager. He immediately started talking to me like I was an idiot. I also told him I was struggling to shut the metal slider on the door. The way his tone and voice was... elevated and enraged... I clearly was interrupting his Monday evening. I couldn't even speak I was at such a loss for words with his disrespect. We went on talking for 20 plus minutes about how it's not his problem there's a "national shortage" of locks. How I didn't get something I paid for... he finally yelled "I'll go buy one tomorrow if I have to!!" He also said I wouldn't have had so many issues if I just waited until a day where they were open. Ummmm excuse me!!? I'm supposed to be able to do this whole thing contactless, remember?!? He literally had an excuse for everything and didn't take ANY FAULT for anything. He in fact made everything MY FAULT. I can only imagine the type of narcissistic person he is outside of his "storage unit gig". I left with a HORRIBLE taste in my mouth and ended up going back to get all my stuff out and leave. I filed a claim with my bank to get all my money back. Absolutely never been talked to or treated so horribly in my life. Watch out people.... There's better places with PROFESSIONALS working. read more
