I used U-pack for my rent move on 6/23/25. One thing you need to do is to make sure that you pack your belongings very snug and tied down with ropes and furnishings are covered with moving blankets. Make sure the heavy items are on the bottom of the pile. I had the best movers help me with this and they did a great job! U-Pack use a forklift to lift the container(s), so it is very important that your belongings are packed so they do not move very much. I was moving from Seattle to Dallas. My container arrived earlier than expected via 4th of July weekend. I believe they gave me until 7/8/25 because of the holiday weekend. When I arrived in Dallas and open the container everything was pretty much in place. The movers very easily moved my items from the container. Depending on where you move to, I was unable to park the container at the apartment's property or the storage unit area. So, I pick up my items from the U-Pack warehouse location in Dallas. Even though I save $400, I had to pay movers to get the items and move to my apartment and the storage unit. However, everything went smoothly. I would say, everything for me went smoothly with U-Pack because of the way my personal belongings were packed. They did communicate with me whenever, I had questions. If I had another big move, I would consider using them again. read more

I used upack after reading online reviews and wanted to add - it's a great service! I was very pleased with the communication and online portal. I was able to track which city my belongings were moved to and reach out to the upack staff if I had any questions or concerns. They could also let me know more specifics on the location of my upack, so when it was getting closer in I asked about more specific timing for the arrival of my relocubes. The relocubes came in a few days early, which was awesome! Hand off of the cubes was very seamless and the drivers are all very nice and would reposition the cubes with a very maneuverable forklift for great positioning. I will say pack your belongings carefully - use moving blankets, rope, whatever you need - your items will move and shift and having everything tied down and secured is a must to avoid damage. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. The entire process for my cross country move was so smooth. Not only was U-pack more affordable than everyone else, the communication and assistance from everyone I spoke with at the company was amazing. My cube got to my destination faster than expected so they held it for me until I was ready at no extra charge. Arranging pick up of the cube was also unbelievably fast and easy. They got most of my stuff from point A to B, but several large items were lost/stolen in transit (obviously pricey stuff which didn't make sense to try to put in a box like a paddleboard and kit, foam roller, etc.). Many items were also damaged, despite having careful, excellent movers load the truck. Total, I'm out about $3K including damages. Even if all they did was reimburse me for the clearly lost/stolen items, under $1K, I'd be happy. They won't even do that though - after waiting MONTHS for them to review my very detailed, well documented claim, they refused to pay for anything. Really consider if the lost/damaged costs will outweigh the increased price of going with another company. I recommend taking pictures of the loaded truck (maybe in stages) so you can prove items were on the truck if they disappear along the way. Absolutely absurd situation that my family has found itself in. This company failed to reserve a truck for us and then proceeded to promise that it will arrive the very next day at 8am. Well that never happened. We got on the phone with them and proceeded to go back and forth to the point that THEY cancelled on US! ABSOLUTELY ABSURD AND UNACCEPTABLE. During this whole disaster they offered to give of $250 off the moving expenses but while we expressed our frustration the person on the other line proceeded to say "well I can just give you nothing instead". Incredibly unprofessional customer service and disrespectful attitude. They also would not give us our deposit back. Cheaper than most competitor options. Both truck drivers were extremely kind and helpful explaining the process. Customer service was A+ with trying to get particular times I needed in very short notice. BEWARE - they will not let you schedule the pickup for your empty cube until you physically receive it, despite the truck driver calling to say he's on his way. This could've created a huge debacle as they require a day's notice and cannot guarantee when a driver may be available. For me, being in the city requires special parking permits paid ahead of time so either you pay a couple hundred dollars (I did) for unneeded permit days "just in case" or risk having the city take cube like a towed car if a driver is not available for pickup within the few days. read more

After a disastrous start on our move with AmeriSafe Moving, who I would NEVER recommend we had to find a way to get the other half of our things moved from Covington, Wa. to Maricop,Az. We were referred to U-Pack by a friend and were so grateful for the referral. We were given a quote which was honored with no changes. We had 3 business days to load and 3 business days to unloa, not counting the drop off day. The charge was less than half of what AmeriSafe was going to charge. Needless to say we were more than happy with U-Pack. Although we didn't want to do the packing and unpacking ourselves by the time we were done with AmeriSafe we just wanted our stuff. I have used U-Pack on more than one move across the country and as of today I can say that they have gone down hill thanks to JESSE out of the main office in Arkansas. I had moved across the country back in April and had the Lawrenceville, GA office hold my cube ever since. I was told to call the main line to get them to adjust my full monthly rate because my bill due date is tomorrow October 6th and I'm having my cube delivered this Friday, October 8th. JESSE refused to help me after I have been informed that they normally due this. So now I'm paying my full 30 day fee for a few days. BEWARE of speaking with this kid and using this company. I'm really glad I chose UPack to move my things for several reasons: 1) They're very transparent with the total cost of the move so there are no surprises after the fact. 2) They were understanding and accommodating when I needed extra time during the move before delivering my things. 3) There is a lady that has been working at UPack for like 16 years, I think she said, and she was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when I asked her my long list of questions. I wish I could remember her name but I wanted to say here that she was amazingly helpful and reassuring when I was under a lot of stress trying to get everything organized for the move. We used Upack to move from Seattle to Toronto. Overall, our experience was great. We used two cubes to pack our 4 bedroom house into. They were packed to the top and a overweight (but they took them anyway). We had gotten rid of our couch, dinning table, and bookshelves, and kid beds before we moved. Had we not, a third cube would have been required. Two tightly packed cubes are better than three loosely packed cubes. If things are not secure they will shift (possibly break). We also used moving belts to secure certain large items. ABF dropped the cubes off as soon as we were ready for them and picked them up as soon as we gave dispatch a call. The little vehicle they use to move the cubes onto your driveway are very swift. They can get the cubes arranged however you want them and even into the smallest most awkward spaces. When our stuff got to the NY border it had to all go through customs. We were given all of the paperwork ahead of time and got our stuff stamped (and returned to Upack) while we were crossing. It is important to note that you have to cross the border ahead of your stuff. This goes both ways; USA to Canada and Canada to the USA. Everything went smoothly at the border. When our cubes got to Toronto we had to get another set of stamps at the customs office near the airport before our stuff could get released. Please note that the Upack customs team will let you know all of these steps ahead of time. Once all of the customs stuff was dealt with, we decided to keep our stuff in storage for a while. Our stuff just arrived last week (after a few months) and everything arrived in one piece. I would definitely use Upack again. read more

We had a good experience with U-Pack. The customer service on the phone was excellent. There was no waiting for someone to pick up and the people were knowledgable. I could quickly get to the local dispatch at my origin and my destination. They worked with me on the timing of the trailer drop offs and pick ups. A few of my items were scuffed up during shipping but that was due to items rubbing on one another for 3000 miles. We had a couple of items fall past the bulkhead to the common area but they were not taken by anyone during the transit. I could have easily seen them come up missing but they weren't. In fact, U-Pack added a second bulkhead to make my load even more secure. The driver that dropped off the trailer at the destination (Paul from Spartanburg) was awesome! First, he was patiently waiting for me to arrive at the storage unit. Second, he helped me set up the ramp and get the 2 bulkheads taken down and secured. Big shout out to Paul! The only reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the charges increased unexpectedly. In my initial booking, I was told that I was allowed to change the date as there was uncertainty for my move. After I finalized the moving date, I was not told during the call that the price went up. Instead, U-Pack buried it in one of their emails in an attached contract. By the time I found out, it was too late. I felt like I was stuck. We moved our entire household from Seattle to Boulder, and we would absolutely use U-Pack again. From the first call and getting an estimate, to their price compared with other similar companies, to the customer service on the delivery end... We were thoroughly satisfied with every step of the process. The driver who brought our empty crates was very responsive and worked with us to put the crates in the best possible locations (which meant going around through our alley for a couple of them, it was extra work and we tipped him...but I was prepared for him to be put out and he was quite the opposite). I have a studio apartment and easily fit all my stuff in with room to spare. It takes up a half parking space and is pretty sturdy and easy to load. The packing and flexibility is convenient, it's nice to have my stuff in a container (unlike other moves, where I've lost boxes in a bulk shipment.) It's also cool to see them maneuver it on the forklift. I wish I could give zero stars! This was the worst experience! I moved long distance. U-pack used a third party to deliver my relo-cubes to my new house. The driver jackknifed his trailer trying to back in my driveway and had to be towed. He took our cubes with him and we never heard from either U-pack OR the third party company about when I would get my delivery. I had to keep calling both companies only to be told "we're waiting to hear from the other company". I was finally told that they WOULD NOT deliver them to my house and I would have to rent a U-haul and drive to the warehouse and unload each container piece by piece myself! This is after I paid $17k for "door-to-door" service!!!! No apologies nor reimbursement either! read more

We had a great experience using U-Pack. We moved across a couple states. We had plenty of time to load our trailer. We thought we needed about 17 ft. We ended up packing almost to the ceiling and only used 11 ft I think. Saved us about $400! We received our trailer in a timely manner. The only downside is I wish the price for storing a trailer would have been cheaper. Because it was so much we had to move our stuff from a trailer to a storage unit. And when we find our house we'll have to move everything again. Also the floor was pretty dirty and greasy near the front so we put down cardboard to protect our stuff.
