Handy Andy gets bonus points for being able to accommodate me without an advance reservation. They also got us checked out quickly and charged the same rental fee as the other "big boys." The subtraction point is because the truck was an absolute junker. There was a hole in the driver's seat so big I could put my whole arm through it all the way to the floor. The truck cab was filthy. The cargo area floor was ripping up and there was no ramp. The truck was making a horrible noise - as if a belt was about to go. It felt like the suspension and shocks were totally shot. We had to be extra careful about using enough furniture padding and tie-downs. The place itself is an absolute dump. A literal junkyard. We left there wondering about the company's worker's comp history. There are tools hanging hap-hazardly all over the walls, multiple story shelves and an enormous crazy-hot totally open space heater that would have caught my pants on fire if I had been unfortunate enough to back into it while in line. The guys were nice enough and I did get a last-minute truck. But yeesh - what a rundown dump.

Comes out with his cigarette, takes his last inhale (no mask), tosses it in the parking lot and told us he had to wipe down the truck. I'm not sure if he was rushing and forgot his mask but I would rather him not wipe it down "because of covid". In the end it took us about half an hour to get in and out. Beware of Mileage Overcharges at This U-Haul Location…read more I recently rented a U-Haul from this location and drove less than 20 miles total (verified by my own GPS and route tracking). I returned it without a problem until I saw the charge come through on my credit card which was more than double the estimated cost. When I brought this up, they said it was because the reported mileage was more than 5 times what I actually drive. The staff gave no clear explanation and couldn't help me beyond giving me a 800 number to dispute the charge. Just take care before renting from this business.

I was moving from Renton, WA to Chicago, IL, a trip that is over 2000 miles. This trip should have…read moretaken three days. The Penske office in Tukwila, WA sent us out on the 2000 mile road trip with a trailer we towed by a 16 foot truck. My husband's car was on the trailer. Two of the tires were bald. My husband called out one of the bald tires prior to leaving the Tukwila location with the truck and the trailer. The shop told him the trailer was 'fine' for a 2000 trip. As my husband drove he became more and more nervous as he checked the tire at each gas stop and the tire was getting worse and worse. He stopped in Wyoming and decided he was not brave enough to chance it any longer. He called Penske, who directed him to roadside assistance. After 4 hours roadside assistance came and came with the wrong size tire for the trailer (info given to them by Penske). He also told my husband that not one but two tires were bald. The roadside assistance driver had to drive back 70 miles from where he came and get two new tires and drive 70 miles back to replace the bald tires. This process delayed us one full overnight. My husband was in Wyoming and I was in my car in South Dakota. I had to wait in SD for him to catch up to me. When I called Penske in Tukwila they did not care that they sent my husband out on a 2000 mile road trip with two bald tires nor did they care that he could have had a serious accident and could have been seriously injured. I emailed the main Penske office who did call me and told me they would pay for the extra night's motel stay and another $300.00 for my 'trouble". I got the motel fee and they seem to have reneged on the $300.00. As far as I am concerned they should have refunded the entire fee of $3200.00 for potentially sending my husband to his death. I will never use Penske again and I urge you to boycott them as well. They do not care about your safety!!!! I promise you they do not and to top it off they are liars and cheats when they promise refunds and then do not issue them.

No issues at all. The 9' cargo van i rented definitely fit my 3 queen beds, but it is nowhere big enough to fit anything else. you're better off renting a bigger truck for an apartment/house move. I ended up having to do 2 trips with the cargo van so that upped my price, but otherwise, I thought my price was really good. $19.95/day, $10 insurance coverage, and my estimated miles put me at $65. That was a deal to me. Then when I had to do another round trip that upped me to about $100. BUT that was estimated as miles are .99 cents/mile. I still say that's not bad at all considering my reservations were originally going to be 4 hrs but then i needed it longer--they were SO accommodating and helpful. Check out was also a breeze with the whole online check-in/check-out process. I definitely recommend as it will help save you time! The only downfall is that they don't do overnight drop-offs. They told me to come in the morning b/c they don't accept night drops.
