We grabbed dinner of Ty's on a Friday night when it was a bit rainy. We had a reservation for 7:15 and I'm glad we did as it was busy! It's got a great style and the service was pretty good. Overall it reminded me a lot of OD on Sullivans- not from a menu perspective but the ambiance and prices are very similar. The restaurant has a substantial drink menu in terms of cocktails, frozen, draft & bottled/canned beers. We had the cauliflower and meatballs as a starter and they were good as expected, albeit not exceptional. Our friends had the pizzas which were phenomenal and we split the rib eye. The steak was very well cooked and the street corn was amazing as was the chimichurri. I didn't think that the potatoes #1 or the Mac and cheese were something to write home about but that could just be my taste. Overall we enjoyed the experience and food and we'll definitely be back. Really enjoyed our meal. Our party ordered a bunch of things off the menu and shared everything family style. First, their Buffalo wings are outstanding. Great spin on the classic, using meaty, grilled (not fried) chicken wings with a really good (and not too spicy) sauce. We also had the pepperoni pizza and Caesar Salad, which were both delicious. The pizza is wood fired with a good, crisp and chewy crust. Finally, we tried the churros and the brownie for dessert. Churros aren't totally authentic (sweeter, more airy dough) but scrumptious nonetheless. And the brownie was rich, moist, and decadent. Restaurant is clean and stylish with a beachy, casual vibe. Our server was very attentive and personable. Needless to say, we'll be back! read more

Well hey y'all.. Gotta throw a little live at Ty's ! They normally don't do carry out on the weekends but bless their hearts made an exception cause I wasn't feeling well but still wanted to Eat Well! Go In Get sit in your car and pick up doesn't matter..Quality travels! Don't mistake this for a drive by and miss really great fresh food. Truth be told It's really really good! read more

It's a bit confusing because we went at 2 pm and they only had a brunch menu but when you look online it shows that they have a lunch menu. The pizza we ordered from that menu looks nothing like the pictures and definitely wasn't wood fired. Then there were random signs saying that pizza was only from 3-4. The food was decent but the menu set ups didn't make sense. read more

A great spot! Shocked they weren't busier on a Saturday night because everything we ate was delicious and service was amazing. Relatively affordable. Tons of TVs outside playing all the college games. Overall, great experience. No complaints! Pepperoni pizza was great too! read more

I can't believe I have never left a review for Ty's! We absolutely love it here. My sister in law use to work with Ty and one of the chefs at another restaurant, so she suggested we give it a try last year. The first time we went it was raining and we sat on the patio. The environment is so welcoming and the food is amazing. We went 2 times on vacation this last summer because the kids keep asking to go back. My daughter says it's the best pizza ever. I am a margarita girl myself. Can't wait to go back next month! read more

We enjoy having lunch at so many Charleston area restaurants and haven't been able to enjoy Ty's as they are only open for dinner during the week. Yesterday I finally realized that they are open for brunch on weekends so made it over there today and boy were we glad we did. First off what a great setting both inside and out and such an attentive and helpful staff. We decided to try a few things as you can see in the pictures and each one was better than the next. I especially enjoyed the burratta salad but everything was first rate. We will be going back for dinner very soon. Just wish they were open for lunch but can't have everything . read more

We just moved to Mount Pleasant and so far, this has been the best restaurant that we have been to yet!! For starters we had the Hush Puppies with pimento cheese and honey butter on the side along with the wings which were grilled to perfection served with their house hot sauce. For my meal I ordered "The Burger" and it was "The Bomb". My wife had the Short Rib served on mash potatoes and it was amazing!!! But that was the food!!! The restaurant is family owned and have waited almost a year to open due to Covid. Well, they must have used the last year to perfect their menu. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed and introduced to Ty's wife (Ty is the owner), his sister, who came back and asked for feedback on our food, and his daughter sat us at our table. And Jimmy, our server was super friendly and made sure we were doing ok throughout our meal. All of them made sure to tell us that their goal was to create a family atmosphere. Well, mission accomplished. This was our first of many visits that we will be taking to Ty's Roadside Grill. read more

Amazing spot we found for brunch! A must if you're visiting Charleston. Outstanding drinks (frozen Paloma's & margaritas were the best & very light/refreshing). I came to this gem during my visit to SC. Tried a lot of restaurants and while they were all good, this was my favorite. The appetizers alone were SO good. The Chadilac margarita was perfect. Second time here for brunch and still a good place. I understand brunch isn't their primary objective but wish the menu had some different options- only healthy choice is salad. Got the friend chicken sandwich which was a little dry and overdone but the sauce that came with is great! read more

1st trip to Ty's Roadhouse. It was awesome. I had the ribeye and my friend had the fish of the day which was grouper. We also shared some muscles which were fantastic with fresh bread. Ty was amazing. He is very sociable and personal and ran one heck of a kitchen. I look forward to dining there again soon. read more

We don't venture over to Mount P very often but we were looking to try something new to us and stopped in here for happy hour last week. It did not disappoint! Their happy hour runs Tues-Fri from 5-6:30 PM with lots of amazing deals! I enjoyed a Hot Honey Margarita ($7 on HH) and a Prosecco Spritz ($5 on HH). My boyfriend enjoyed a Aim-Dog Refresher ($8 on HH) and a draft beer ($1 off on HH). We also enjoyed the P.E.I. Mussels for $13 on HH which were absolutely to die for! Great flavor and delicious sauce we dipped our bread into. Their regular menu looked very tasty too but we weren't all that hungry so we'll have to try dinner another time. My friend has also been here for brunch a couple of times and highly recommends it, so we'll definitely be back to try that. Overall, the ambiance is cute, clean, and refreshing and the staff were all super friendly. If you're in Mount P or looking to branch out a little, I'd definitely recommend this place. read more

After months of driving by Ty's, we decided to try it out. The building itself is very cute and the inside is nicely decorated. Think a chic-beach vibe. We were seated right away by a kind hostess and immediately greeted. Our server was attentive and we really enjoyed our conversation. For the food- we started out with the chopped salad. The flavors were delightful and it was filling but light at the same time. My husband got the meatball pizza and enjoyed it. I got the chicken and it was amazing. Some of the best chicken I've ever had. The server said they brine for at least 24 hours. It couldn't have been more delicious. The grits and collards were excellent with mine as well. We were too full for dessert, but will definitely be back for That! Overall, this was an awesome experience. All of the staff was so nice and you can tell they are really passionate about what they do. The food and the atmosphere were both fantastic. We will definitely make this one of our regular spots! read more

Went to Ty's for brunch and the food was really good! We both got eggs Benedict and it's one of the best I've had in awhile, the hollandaise sauce was sooo good. The home fries had a really good flavor and crispy! The grits we tried as well and they were very creamy, very similar to the ones at viscous biscuit if you're a fan of theirs! Another visit to Ty's with great results. Their kitchen whipped up a pepperoni and a chef's meatball pizza with Caesar salads. Washed it all down with some brew and everything made the grade once again. Especially the staff, Jessica, our Waitress did it right with personality and attentiveness. Overall, excellent job. We decided to eat here the first time while friends were visiting from out of town. Our large group was difficult to accommodate other places and our oldest child mentioned their school had a meal at Ty's and they easily arranged to meet the needs for the school group. We called Ty's, made reservations and enjoyed a great meal with friends in a beach themed casual environment. Stopped here after a long day of walking all over Charleston (and plenty of brewery stops). We didn't want a lot of food but just more of a snack. Got the blistered tomatoes with ricotta toast. It was good but could have used a little salt. Also has the bbq pork sliders to share along with some fries and both were really good! Will certainly try this place again when we are looking to have more than just a little food. Outdoor seating was great! read more

Spectacular from start to finish. Food was excellent. We loved every item as did the kids. Absolutely appreciate a chef who's not afraid to use seasoning and spice. The meatballs and chorizo/shrimp burger were amazing. Whole chunks of shrimp molded with ground chorizo into burgers...not ground shrimp...amazing. Great flavor profile with the harissa aioli and Gouda. Desserts. Wow. We rarely order dessert but the kids had earned a treat. The Basque cheesecake was light, smooth, and so good. Caramel sauce. I would bathe in it. Churros...also light and crispy and airy. We'll be back. Oh yeah. And service was awesome from start to finish as well. Friendly informative prompt and attentive. read more

However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Our waitress was friendly, brought our drinks quickly and took our orders. We specifically requested apps and dinner not be on top of each other. As we were finishing our apps a waiter/ busboy came with meals. I asked, "Could you clear these dirty plates?" " Not with my hands full" l was told. So our dirty plates, silverware, left over food and dirty table now also held our meals. Yuck! Food wise there were many nice choices and the restaurant was beautiful. Service wise l can do without a smug kid who doesn't understand how to do his job. The place was not busy and if our experience is typical of their service l can understand why.
