My husband and I were headed home to Houston from Dallas, trying to get home before a ice storm came thru Dallas. Stopped here thinking "let's get a good burger while on the way home!". Literally was in the drive thru for 30 min, not to mention they gave us wrong drinks. Went inside after waiting 30 minutes in line and the staff was just standing around chatting with each other. I gave them drinks and asked for the right beverage and asked what was taking so long. They said "we are waiting on fries and chicken tenders". Finally got to car with food and the chicken tenders and fries were cold. Food was below average! Don't waste your time going here!!! Stopped for lunch to go. Ordered a mushroom Swiss burger meal for my husband and a bacon cheeseburger for me. I asked for mayo and ketchup on mine. There was barely any condiments - very dry. And the meat was flavorless. But at least I had meat. My husband opened his sandwich and there was no meat! Just mushrooms, cheese and fixins. Needs to be some better training and management of the staff. Have been here a few times and is hit and miss on the service and staffing of the drive through. There was no one in front of me in the drive through. Had to tell the kid my order a few times. (What do people not understand about NO onions, mayo, or mustard? Just listen to what the customer is saying.) I was asked, so what vegetables do you want on there after the 2nd time of simply saying, no onions, mayo, or mustard. (Why ask someone to name all the vegetables they want on a simple burger???....odd???) So 3rd time, "look, i simply dont want onions, mayo or mustard. Pull up to window. Kid seemed either new, affraid, or not yet ready to be unleashed upon customers. Yes, I realize this is a small town and its good for the kids to have jobs, but I actually expect kids in small town Texas to be a bit more customer friendly than in the big city. So I pay right away, kid awkwardly shoves my card back with a pen to sign, then I NEVER SAW HIM AGAIN! I wait...and wait...10 min goes by. (Mind you NO ONE ELSE is even there in the line!) The one truck that was behind me in line, that gave their order too and was waiting for their food as well, simply got tired of waiting, pulled up beside me, looked into the drive through window to see what the HECK was going on in there, then actually drove off, as it was way past the point of being acceptable. At that point of the night, I was tired and really didnt want to have to start the process all over at another restaurant. A girl finally shows up at window, as I told her I was JUST getting ready to call the restaurant direct, to see if a manager or someone would answer, so I could ask WHAT in the WORLD is going on in there? I was there at this point at LEAST 15 min. She said "sorry". I said I never saw the guy working the window or anyone at all ever come back. She said she would check to see who has the headset. (Which what does that mean to me, the customer?) At that point, my food should have just been free ontop of having been offered something else for the hassle. (Probably burnt up more fuel in 15 min than the 1 burger cost!). She said oh...sorry, they have to make the sweet potato fries which can take 7min. I said, i have been there for FIFTEEN MINUTES! Was looking in my rear view mirror, and I could see 3 or 4 kids at the dumpster, looked like horseplaying and goofing off, one was in a red shirt, which looked like the kid working the drive through, who just abandoned his post. (Where is the management/manager overseeing the staff?) Its great these local kids have a place to work, but it does them and the community a disservice, when they are not managed at that age and allowed to goof off and horseplay and not be respectful to their place of employment and the customers. Teach them to work and work properly. A lack of management oversight is the cause, and this is the result. Kids this age need direction and guidance, especially if its a first job. Its failing them, as well as the business and customer base, to allow this to occur. So, that supposed "7 min cook time" on the potato fries, (which i was never told when i ordered to begin with, it would take that long or any length of time) that took 15 min to get my food order and me on down the road after I was about ready to fall asleep in the car, resulted once i got the heck out of there, in the burger having been COLD, and the fries that supposedly had to just be made for me, were about room temp, much less not warm, much less SHOULD have been HOT. So that wasnt the real story/excuse i was told by the girl.(as i realize, she is probably clueless as to what went wrong herself) Doesn't take a rocket scientist, nor a cattle manager to figure out, the employees just LEFT and abandonded the drive through, that the food was and HAD been sitting there somewhere ready for a while..and NO ONE took it to the window, nor was on top of the orders. The kid went AWOL and was outside at the dumpster, and no one covered for him. Again, where is the manager on duty while all this is going on, or allowing this to occur? You go to pretty much ANY ChickFilA restaurant, and those same age kids, are trained and managed like a racing pit crew! This is NOT the first bad experience here with the drive through. A couple years ago, after this new location opened, had a same very slow experience inside too. This is a chronic problem going on here. OH, almost forgot, ontop of my food being COLD and service being slower than turning old, they put ONIONS on the burger anyway. LORD have MERCY people. What a disappointment. I've visited this restaurant in years past, prior to its beautiful new building, and always found the burgers to be delicious and the service to be pleasant. Today's visit was quite the opposite. Although I was greeted at the door by friendly employee, when I approached the counter where there are three registers, no one greeted me. I observed one young man with his back to me facing the kitchen, his hat lifted off his head and his fingers scratching furiously at his scalp. When I was finally approached by a cashier, he barely spoke loudly enough for me to hear him, and he didn't prompt me for what I wanted, but instead just stared at me. He failed to ask if I was dining in or taking out, so when i received my order, it was in a to-go bag (not really a big deal for me, but annoyed that I hadn't been asked). The burger was wadded up in a piece of tissue paper instead of properly wrapped. The meat had been overcooked to the point that it was chewy. The table I sat at looked clean, but as I ate, I realized it was slightly sticky...so much so that when I finished and picked up the wrapper, it was adhered to the table. When we first arrived gentleman on the intercom was very nice, and asked every details of our order. The wait was a little lengthy. I considered it was normal because it's made fresh? Also considering we were on the way somewhere and on time and wanted to make a "quick" stop, my husband wasn't very satisfied with the wait time. Food tasted fine. After reading some of the below reviews I was almost afraid to go inside. However the rest rooms were. Hi I'm Larry Mattlock, Weekend Weapons Specialist and Full time food aficionado, U.S. Veteran of The Vietnam and Korean War. 5 minutes ago I attended this Fast Food Restaurant and it was fuckin delicious. I got a Swiss Mushroom burger and hot damn that tickled my taint. The whole experience gave me the at home Texas feel. I even got a fried twinkie. The only thing lacking was security. The place was a glass box essentially and any mortar or frag would destroy the place. The first impression was disappointing because the teen at the counter was obviously not enjoying himself working at a burger joint at 8:00 (ridiculous this generation is, never experienced a hard day's work and will huff and puff while being payed minimum wage to take orders. I worked in textile factories and construction in grade school and my pay was a laugh and a slap on the bottom). I'm rating this place a 4 because my entire family enjoyed their food and it came to us fast. That's what she said. I snuck into the back and it was clean, but no plates to steal (curses). The bathroom was clean too, they reminded me of club bathrooms where I've frequented many times in the past week because my bowels can't handle my dance floor jiggle anymore. I nearly did the Charleston so hard I sharted once. While it did remind me of a club bathroom, it definitely had less cocaine and naked people, and more soap. Well I chose subway but I'd like to complain about the service, there was a young lady who had the attitude that she hated her job and made customers feel like they were stupid, it was extremely cold and in the winter like do you not have a heater on! and the only reason I'm giving three stars because the young gentleman who is new was extremely nice and of course I liked my food because I watched it be made. Girl at counter preaching to other employees about cleaning up but never once washed her hands after handling lots of different items to include sticking fingers in everyone's fry package. Came through this little town on our way to ft.hood we had to stop! My wife and two kids were about to kill each other over the last piece of icebreakers gum! So glad we did, the food was great and counter to table service made it very easy especially with the little ones. The best thing I could say about out experience was the military discount I'm so glad I asked because with a 50% discount for military it makes it extremely affordable for a larger family! Thank you guys so much for having a clean atmosphere including the restrooms and delicious quick food that didn't break the bank !!!! Will be back when we come through again! read more

My hometown had a Texas Burger at one time, so when I find a franchise that is still open, I will go a little bit out of my way to be taken back to a faintly flickerieng childhood memory. The burgers here are pretty good, but what is really great are the fries. They come out all orange and crusty, so you know they have been beer-battered. Awesome stuff. read more

These are in my opinion the best burgers in Texas. Better than In N Out, Whatabuger, Sonic etc. Very good fries as well. This location is by far the nicest I've been to. Some of them are hit and miss as far as decor and cleanliness. The only drawback is they change $.60 for cheese. Seems pretty unreasonable for a double burger that already costs $5.99. Now it's a $7.19 double cheeseburger because they charge that for each slice of cheese. I don't know many establishments that still have an extra charge for cheese on your burger and I don't think any ever charged that much PER SLICE. read more

We stopped at TX Burger on our way home to Dallas from Houston, a stretch of road on I45 where notable food choices are slim. TX Burger was a good little find. The burgers were tasty, offered with standard fixings or add-ons like pepper jack or avocado. The sweet potato krinkle fries were a plus. The space is a clean, modern take on Texas rustic with stained particle board benches and old timey scenes drawn large on the walls. Big bonus was the Blue Bell ice cream counter (loved the Milk and Cookies). Service was super, friendly and helpful when my order came out incorrect. They fixed it and threw in a free single scoop to make up for it. If fast food is what you're planning anyway...TX Burger is worth writing into your plans. read more

If you're in the mood for fast food, the grill at Texas Burger is always good, although the hamburger patties are small. The small building is shared with a Subway, and Management is casual about cleaning. Employees are loud, boisterous, and not focused on the customer. Don't go here! It took 30 minutes to get our order (burgers and fries), and the burgers weren't even good. They were extremely dry and severely lacking in flavor. Honestly, McDonald's is better, not to mention faster and way cheaper. To make matters worse, I asked for everything but onions, and instead got only onions, so I ended up with a dry burger with nothing on it but a tiny smear of mayo. Don't do it. Burger meat was dry. Chicken wasn't real, it was like an oversized chicken nugget in consistency and had no flavor. The flies inside the place are out of control.
